Rate this book
Ash London, front man for uber-successful rock band Ferrum, is over the lifestyle. He’s done with it all, yet finds himself going through the motions out of a sense of obligation to his fans, band, and crew members. He’s living the dream, but what he wants is to be a normal man with an ordinary life far away from the touring scene. He could have any woman he wants, but what he wants is someone who can look past the rock star—someone who will bust down the walls he’s built around himself and break free the man lying dormant within. Lila Stephens hasn’t had the best past. In fact, it’s been downright traumatic. After the death of her beloved grandmother, she picks up her life and moves to Brooklyn to build a new life for herself. She’s given up on the notion of love and is content living alone with her beagle dog. Lila reluctantly attends a party thrown by her best friend, Tori, who just happens to be the wife of Ferrum guitarist, Matty Tabor. As she’s ready to leave, a drunken man crashes into her, sending her falling straight into the arms of Ash London. Will she stay there where it’s warm and comforting, or will she flee as her past threatens to taint any hope of happiness for the two of them?Take Me On is the first book in the Take Me Duet. It is not a standalone.

Stephanie Summers is a paranormal and contemporary romance author. She graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in accounting, though writing is her true passion. Stephanie seemed to always have a story or two or ten running around in her mind. At the ripe old age of 30, she finally decided it was time to put aside the thought that she didn't have what it took to write a novel and began writing her first story.

She has since written her first paranormal series, The Willow Creek Vampires Series, with Craving (Book #1), Haunting (Book #2), Awakening (Book #3), and the short companion story, The Bludworth Chronicles: Origin, available now. Her short story, Love Forgotten, was chosen to be published in Stardust: A Futuristic Romance Collection, and another short story, Saved by the Bear, is available now. Her contemporary rock star romance, Take Me On, was released in 2015, with the sequel, Take Me Home, released early in 2016.

Lila Stephens has just moved to New York after the death of her grandmother and is now in the same town as he best friend Tori Tabor. Tori is married to Matty, who is part of the rock band Ferrum, but explains that she likes that Lila is not using her to get closer to the band.

Ash London is a huge rockstar but is really getting tired of the lifestyle and really wants to settle down with someone that loves him for the "real" side of him. Ash is attracted to Lila instantly and even more so when she turns him down.

Yet the two develop a good friendship but both have demons that they need to overcome and each is very scared of losing the other even though they may be both afraid too get too attached in the first place.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one in the series. One of my favorite things is the conversations between Ash and Lila in that the banter is fun and scarcastic. The two develop such a great friendship but both are afraid of getting hurt. Lila has a past that she is unable to get over or talk about and that really puts a strain on her "relationship" with Ash.

I absolutely loved Ash and think he is the most amazing guy, well except for a few times during the book when i wanted to scream at him. I love that he really wants a "real" life and find that special someone and the extent he goes to make Lila happy. He genuinely cares for her and it is so amazing to see.

There were times when I wanted to strangle Lila but as the book got on further I completely understood where she was coming from. I'm glad she finally got some strength in talking about her past.

Such a great book and I can't wait for number two!!

Who hasn't had a crush on a rockstar? Lila is no different. She moves to a new city, closer to her BFF, when venturing around the neighborhood she spies the man beast and cannot get him out of her mind. When she realizes he is the front man for her besties husbands band, she deems him undateable. But, she cannot stop thinking about him. Lila has a troubled past, which she isn't sure she's ready to overcome. Ash London is a super celebrity rockstar who is looking for a serious change in his lifestyle. He can have any woman he wants, why would he want Lila? Lila doesn't believe he can be a genuine guy. Ash doesn't believe Lila could want him for him. After their ups and downs, they lead with their hearts.
I laughed, I cried......I didn't want it to end. I read this book in 3 days, and it would be been one if I didn't have kids to take care of. Stephanie Summers books are relateable, and easy to read. I can't wait for part 2!!!

I struggled to put this book down just to see where they were going!! I had read that this was original one story and I am sure glad it became more. Although it is slow, and pretty well detailed, I liked to get to see both perspectives at one time (saves on the sequels, in my opinion) and that also means I don't have to read the same story over and over to find out about the key components...I am excited to start Take Me Home, mostly because of the way Take Me On starts out, with someone else!!

First of all, not sure that I like that the book starts off letting you know that something wrong is going to happen between the main characters. Got through the whole first book and they only got together at about 75% in. Was a little annoyed by all the back and forth. Writing style is kind of simple. Not all that interesting. But I'm going to read the second book so I can find out about Ash's "demons"

Ok

In the beginning the drag on. Still iffy about wanting find out what happens. The first part it was confusing about going on, but it was a little taste of happens next.

The one thing I want ask. When Lila's friend Tori is introduced she was pregnant. As the story goes on there is nothing mention about it afterwards. So what happened?

What an amazing story. I truly loved the both books. The story between Ash and Lila is wonderful. True love can really concur anything as long as you let your true feelings shine through. I really enjoyed that it felt like it could be a true story in the life of a rockstar.

I got this book for an honest review and you straight away find out that there is some complication going to happen and a huge drama going on and then you get to the story from the beginning and when you finish the book you are not done and the beginning makes sort of sence but you are missing so much so its not complete. This for me is a bit of a turn down. I like series and have no problem to read them but I like books with some kind of ending that connects to the beginning and this book dont. You have to read the second book to understand the first part of the book. I think it would have been better to skip the prolouge and just tell the story and make a litte better ending for this one and even then have a second book.

The style is written between two altering persons and at first I had no problem with it and thought it would be interesting to see the story from both the hot sexy rockstar and then girl who falls in love with him, but after a while it got pretty boring. It dont didnt give the depth I had wished for. It didnt give the book anything and I would have prefered another way of writing.

So the story itself isnt that bad, it is pretty interesting but very slow and I was bored part times of it. It felt like nothing is happening for the first part of the book, there where of course but as soon as anything was about to happen, it was ended so we never got any depth to it and it bored me out and i had parts where I thought I would fall asleep while other parts where brilliant.

I give the book 3 stars beause the book is readable and quite interesting and the story itself is interesting even if it is slow and could have been made more interesting.

This is my first time reading anything by Stephanie Summers and I have to say I really enjoyed this touching story. Lila Stephens has just moved to New York after her grandmothers death , her best friend Tori Tabor lives there with her husband Matty , who belongs to the rock band Ferrum. But then there's Ash London who happens to be a huge rockstar, who's sick of being in the lifestyle and wants to settle down ,but with someone who wants him for him . But when Ash sees Lila there's an instant attraction towards her, but then she shoots him down . They start to develop a friendship .but they both have some demons that they need to overcome first, before they become to serious because they both are afraid of the other one leaving them. This author has given us truly a touching story with characters that both demons in their pass ,who's strong , loving and it's a very intense read I could go on and tell you more about this touching story ,but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this story ,you won't be disappointed.

At first, I was really drawn into this book. It explains in the prologue about Lila's present day situation with Ash, and I was hooked. I really wanted to know more immediately so I kept reading all day long. There is nothing really bad about this book, but I just felt it could go deeper. I swarmed with questions and hope in book two all will be revealed. The writing was good, and overall it made me think a lot but I didn't feel as much as I would have liked. I like to have strong emotions when I read, which may make me a demanding reader. I don't know, but when I read I want to laugh or cry or shout out or all of the above. I just did not have this, but I was content and am intrigued enough to want to keep reading. So, give it a try.

I listened to this on audio. I will say that I had a hard time getting into at first, but I think it was because it took some adjusting to the narrator. (who did a fine job). This story was a slow burn, really taking time with the developing relationship between Lila and Ash. I won't lie, at some points I was thinking "Get on with it already". But I really did enjoy how this story unraveled. Some of the banter actually had me laughing out loud. It ends on a cliffhanger.... not one that has you ripping your hair out, but enough of one that I have to find out what happens because you know that something does.

I have a soft spot for characters with secrets or damaged pasts. They draw me in and make me love them more. Stephanie Summers gave me what I wanted. Lila and Ash are drawn together. It's a steady build with a beautiful story woven in the pages. It's not always easy to trust and let go, but this couple works through their emotional issues, reaching for love. This isn't like any rock star romance I've ever read. It's the man behind the band. It's the woman who breathes her own kind of light into his world. It's unique and breathtaking. I can't wait for book 2!! I highly recommend.

This is a wonderful rockstar romance. Lila and Ash make an unlikely couple but are perfect for each other. Lila is everything that Ash wants and Ash gives Lila the strength to overcome her traumatic past. I like how you get to see the person Ash is rather than his rockstar personality. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to book 2. If you're looking for a different kind of rockstar story, this book is for you!

I hate Cliffhangers

I feel like that's what I read. The beginning had me thinking there was more to come his story that I was gonna read. But just when I felt like I was in the middle of the book it ended. It would have gotten 4 stars if not for that. Now I gotta buy another book to see how this one ends. Not happy. I'm gonna buy it though cause I really enjoyed reading about this couple. It was a pretty good story.

Oh my god! This book rocked! I loved every second of it and Ash was one hot Beast of a rock star.
It takes some time for Ash and Lila to get together, but the up and downs are well worth the Rollercoaster ride!
If you do anything, you need to check out Take me on. You won't regret it!

I am sure this is probably a good book but I could not get into it. The narrator's voice was hard to listen. Not unpleasant really. I just could not listen to him. He was distracting and I could not follow which character was talking some of the time. I fell asleep through most of it so I just got the general gist of the story and the ending which was ok.

Not bad

At all! I enjoyed the book and it did not seem redundant at all. Characters were awesome and I felt for Lila and what she went through. Ash seems smitten and I really want to know what he did!

Loving Ash

Lust, friendship, longing and love? Cliff hanger. Will the make it work and overcome pasts? Not your typical rocker romance.
