I received this book as an Advanced Readers Copy.
Marlowe is in the throes of grief after losing her father and her stepmother is out for revenge on a vampire. When Marlowe is eighteen she is told to hide in her father’s closet because there is an intruder but what she sees instead changes the course of her life forever. She is found in the closet by a vampire named Bastian who strikes a deal with her if she can keep a secret for 5 years she can come to New Orleans to find him, slipping her a business card telling her if he’s not in to ask for his brother Cassius. With revenge on her mind she buys a one way ticket to New Orleans with a plan to murder the vampire who killed her father. When she arrives she find that Bastian has been killed and that she has to strike a bargain with Cassius. The standoffish vampire is dealing with his own grief over his brother and is angry with him but still manages to keep his brother’s promise and lets her work for the bar his family owns. But not all vampires are good and some are only out for her blood. This book is fast paced with a slow burn romance, found family, along with touch her and die vibes.

I was excited to pick up this book. The author has said that the MMC was the vampire of her dreams. Although he appeared as a side character in her other books, he was the first character she created for this world, and I wanted to understand why he meant so much to her. At its heart, this is a love story. It begins with revenge, but I never believed our FMC truly hated him. How could she hate someone she found so irresistibly attractive?
There is so much I wish I could reveal about this story, but I do not want to spoil it. Marlowe has just discovered a world she never knew existed, and she struggles to process it. When terrible luck strikes her family, she is drawn into New Orleans’s hidden world.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to read the rest of Jenna’s work soon. She created memorable characters, especially Cassius. There is not much I would deny a vampire, but for Cassius, I would give everything. He is a walking green flag and everything you could want in a partner.
If you are in the market for a steamy vampire romance featuring an FMC who is reluctant to enter the vampire world, pick up this book. I devoured it.

The Bourbon Street Vampire

Loved Cassius & Marlowe’s unconventional love story! 🖤🧛🏻🖤(that ends with a HEA)
This story is a slightly dark and very spicy “Vampire Romance “ and centers mostly around the back and forth undeniable chemistry between the MMC & MFC .
There’s very little “horror “ elements in this story … so if you’re looking for a vampire romance comparable to “Twilight or the Vampire Diaries “ then I would definitely recommend this book!

Marlowe is out for revenge when her father is supposedly unalived by a vampire.
She goes to New Orleans ( and Jenna always does a fabulous job with the description of “The Big Easy” )
She’s tries to find the vampire who has committed this crime but soon finds herself lured in by the charismatic Cassius!
Marlowe enters a forbidden and steamy love affair with Cassius .
She eventually caves to the magnetic spell of her mortal enemy and soon finds she is madly and utterly in love with a vampire.

Overall I really enjoyed the magical world Jenna has created and I would recommend these wonderful books!

Thank you to author Jenna Walker for the ARC !

I binge read The Royal Street Witch and The Child of Rue Royale, so when I saw Jenna was looking for ARC readers for her newest book, I knew I had to jump at the opportunity!

While this book can be read as a standalone, it takes place within the same storyline as the first two books. This time, we get to follow Marlowe and Cassius’s story 🥰

When Marlowe arrives in New Orleans, she has one goal: kill Nicola, the vampire responsible for her father’s death. To get close enough to him, she takes a job as a barback at his family’s bar, hoping to infiltrate the vampire family from the inside.

But as Marlowe starts uncovering the truth, she realizes that not everything is as it seems. And then there’s Cassius, even while grieving the loss of his brother, the chemistry between them is undeniable, and it turns both of their worlds completely upside down.

If you love vampires, witches, New Orleans, forbidden romance, and a little mystery mixed in, this one needs to be on your TBR! 🖤

Jenna Walker takes us on a trip through the search for revenge, love, redemption, and belonging. Marlowe loses the most important person in her life, moves to New Orleans, and finds herself amidst an array of people and beings. Cassius just lost the most important person in his life. He is mourning and looking for something/someone to ease his pain. In a world of secrets can anyone find peace or happiness? This story captures you mind, heart, and soul. Cherry warns Marlowe, Jacinda alludes to knowing about dark secrets, Fotis...well, he may be the devil in disguise. A well rounded story that captures the imagination and has you rooting for almost everyone at some point during the book.

What’s better than a romance book? A romance book with vampires!
I was lucky to get an ARC of The Bourbon Street Vampire by Jenna Walker, and it did not disappoint. Cassius is a brooding vampire who is far more romantic than he realizes, and I loved Marlowe's fire and snappy attitude—she had me wanting to high-five her a time or two!
Follow along as Marlowe infiltrates Cassius's domain with a single goal in mind, only to find him impossible to resist. Their chemistry made me feel all the feels!
If you’re looking for a fun, entertaining read that will leave you smiling, definitely add this to your TBR!

I really enjoyed this book. Love Cassian. I think the author does a really good job bringing the reader into her world. My biggest critique is that I think the book could have been longer. I wish more pages were spent building their relationship. I think more time could have been spent on the plan to kill Nicola. Some of her inner dialogue felt repetitive. I think that could have been spent building the relationship and her plan and I think it would have made Marlowe’s outbursts make more sense.

I’m hoping there will be another book for the series. Since I love the characters and world and would like to continue reading more about them all.

I was lucky enough to be picked as an ARC reader for this book. I’m not the best at writing reviews but I will give it my all!

Marlowe a girl out for revenge heads to New Orleans with a score to settle. Cassius a vampire dealing with his own issues. What could possibly go wrong? Will Marlow go through with her plan? Has Cassius found someone who will change his mind about love and life? What does fate have in store for them?

Thank you so much Jenna Walker for entrusting me with your work! I have never loved a fictional world more than I have this one!

I didn’t think I could love a character more than Bastian and then Jenna Walker comes out with. Books about Cassius.

I got sucked into this book just as quickly as her others. Cassius and Marlowe…their story is 🔥 I do not want to give any spoilers but Cassius comes out of his shell thanks to Marlowe. Being taken along for the ride is wonderful.

This book was an absolute favorite of mine. I couldn't put it down once I picked it up. Marlowe is out for revenge for her father's death but once she meets Cassius it as if she forgot her agenda. I love their story and how they both needed each other to heal. If you love vampires and witches this story is for you. I was accepted to be an arc reader and this is my honest review.

This book was amazing! This was my first book by this author and everything about it was just so good. Marlowe moves across the country on a mission to find out what happened to her father and is quickly redirected by her attraction for Cassius.

ARC review:

First time ever reading this author, and I must say the story line was amazing. The should they, shouldn't they back and forth, the chemistry was all top notch. Broody vampire and a human with revenge on her mind drawn together against the odds. Loved it!
