The Kobayashi twins, Megumu and Mitsuru, were named after historical figures, but only Megumu has grown up with a taste for history. So when Mitsuru is in danger of losing his weekends to extra history classes, he convinces his sister to swap clothes with him and ace his tests! Megumu is considering a career as a manga artist, but as Mitsuru so helpfully points out, her drawing skills could use a lot of improvement. A mysterious stranger enters the picture who seems to know something about Aoi's past that no one else does and is intent to start a fight with him. Tokugawa faces a stalker that comes to the attention of Mitsuru who vows to protect her. The Kobayashi twins are cross dressing again in order to protect those around them from any potential harm.
I like that we are getting more of a story about Mitsuru's life and that we are also getting to see more of Tokugawa as a person rather than a brutish girl. This new stranger appearing definitely adds more depth to this story and we will have to see what he knows about Aoi, that Aoi wants to keep buried in the past.

Once again, there's too much cuteness going on in this volume. And I have come to the conclusion that I am in love with Aoi. I just can't help myself because he's so freaking adorable! I enjoy his reactions to Megu, and I like how he's not afraid to let her know how he feels. Megu is a bit girlish and silly at times, but she has a huge heart, and I like that she tries to see the best in others.
Megu tries her hand at drawing and she's terrible at it! Aoi is taken aback when Megu draws him with 3 elbows! But he still encourages her because he's just too sweet to say anything bad about her.
A new character is introduced. He seemed harmless at first, but then he went crazy when he saw Megu's drawings of Aoi, so I think he's more dangerous than he appears. I can't wait to find out what sort of past he and Aoi share.
At the end, the twins end up switching places again. Megu wants to protect Aoi from the new character who is threatening him. And Mitsuru is starting to have feelings for Azusa, so he wants to find out who is stalking her.

Not much happens in this volume. A boy is hunting for Aoi. Seems to have violent intent. Secrets seem to swirl around AOi in this volume that make me want to scream "Just tell me already" but we get no real answers.
Tsukugawa has an unwanted stalker and Shino and MEgo work to team up their writing and art. Mego's art style is...err...interesting to say the least...
How did so so little take so many pages?! Lots of random filler it seems on this volem. Far from my favorite in the series. Hope it picks back up soon.

When a story gets stale, what do you do? INTRODUCE A NEW CHARACTER! Our new character knows about Aoi's past and he seems to have some sort of beef with Aoi. Ooh the drama continues and I hope that it only gets better~
Meanwhile Mitsuru has his hands full battling (dating) with Tokugawa, and from the looks of it, he's falling for her~ I still want him to be with Shino but at least they're realistic with the fact that first love doesn't always work out.
This series has 15 volumes.

A little more exciting than the last volume, I at least laughed at some of the ridiculousness. The new character I imagine is just misunderstood and is actually a devoted friend of Aoi who wants what’s best for him (I mean the bird says his heart is pure so he can’t be bad despite his creeping and punches) or was abandoned by Aoi running away or something like that. Mitsuru and Tokugawa are getting closer thanks to her creepy stalker, so it’s a volume devoted to stalking I guess. :)

The twins have a good reason for crossdressing once again! Mitsuru is set on protecting Azusa when Megumu realizes she's being stalked (and must have told her brother). Aoi has a new problem in the form of a boy from his past.

I feel like this was a beginning of a secondary arc and I liked it. I especially enjoyed the character development with both romances. However, it just felt like a filler volume. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3 out of 5 stars

book six of its so cute it hurts series ~ this is a very cute book with a lot of wholesome romance between helpless romantics. i would recommend this if anyone would like to read a good romance manga.

Who is this mysterious boy who mega punched through Mego’s sketchbook???! Lol.
My fav part of this volume had to be the bonus chapter with the cat’s narrating!!!! I freakin love cats and Aoi’s my favorite character of this series.

Meh. I think I'm done. The initial premise was super ridiculous and made me laugh, but now I feel like it's gone from farce to melodrama and become totally predictable. :(

Not gonna lie: I read this series super fast and don't remember it super well. The romance was cute, though, and I liked it enough to keep reading until the end.

Maybe it's because this manga feels so self aware that the heavy lean into tropes and silly plot points feels fun and not forced. This volume is all fun and mounting tension, bring it on!

I don't love this series. I just don't.
There's some real cuteness between Mego and Aoi in the beginning. We get a glimpse of Mitsuru and Azusa's relationship, and how it's slowly growing for each of them. Azusa is getting bullied, and Misturu steps in protectively, at the same time that Mego wants to be there to protect Aoi, so they switch again.
The major point here, though, is that there's a new character. And he has a vendetta against Aoi. He pursues Mego at first, to get to Aoi, and she doesn't take that quite so well.
There's good and bad with this series. It is still ringing at high and low moments in every volume, just enough that I don't quite mind reading more but I'm not loving it. I just want it to get better.

I'm reading on... Not a masterpiece but Gō Ikeyamada knows a thing or two about creating very readable shōjo manga.
In this volume the reader finds out that Megu is exceptionally good at drawing history comics so she tries drawing people as well. The faces are usually wonderful but she has no idea of how to draw a human body whatsoever. Her drawings were so funny.
There's a new protagonist making his debut on this volume but uhm... don't know what to think about him.
I really like the part about Azusa and Mitsuru where he declares that he will protect her.

Megu drawings are hilarious.
I also want to know what is that one dudes beef with Aoi. If I have one minor compliment (very minor) it is that the dramatic scenes feel so dramatically slow. It could be that i'm slowly realizing my age and am like REVEAL THE PLOT LINE ALREADY!
Anyway, I love it when the twins switch (I'm not sure it's because no one pays attention to twins or if the teachers are just stupid so that's why they are non-existent in this comic)... and I am here for all the drama that ensues in these budding relationships.
OH! The bonus cat story is ADORBS.

Not my favorite installment of the series. Feels incredibly short!

Finally, a new antagonist comes along, but just as soon as things are going to be revealed... end of volume! Gah! Why can't these volumes be longer or be released closer together. Yet again, this manga is super adorable and I've found no fault in it!

A weaker entry in the saga as way too much time is used to introduce an ominous new character and the twins revert to the cross-dressing conceit which I keep hoping will disappear entirely from this series.

Aoi's past may soon come to light as the mysterious Uesugi (Chiharu) appears on scene. And Azusa has a stalker, so Mitsuru swoops in to help! Is a new love on horizon?! (The answer is "yes." C'mon. You know it is.)

This series continues to give me a sugar high, and Go Ikeyamada can't draw girls-dressing-as-boys to save her life, but there's a surprising depth to both this and volume five. That new guy better not mess up Mego's romance...
