One of my gripes about Naruto is that Sakura never got her chance to shine. She spent the first half of the series being borderline useless and she had the strength to recognize it and correct it. She spent three years busting her butt so that she could hold her own and catch up to Naruto and Sasuke, but by the time the three of them come together all her progress is undermined and she winds up at the tail end of her team again because nobody seems to understand the role of a support.
This book is Sakura’s time to shine and it’s brilliant. No one comes to rescue her, no one babies her. She stands up on her own two feet and proves that she’s come further than she ever thought possible.
I did have a few minor issues with this book. For one, they really, desperately, needed a proof reader. For some reason Sakura and Sasuke’s names are just interchangeable throughout the book which can lead to some strange-albeit hilarious- situations. For the most part I managed to tune that out because it’s pretty obvious who or what was meant. Other than that, there’s really just the fact that every once in awhile Naruto needs to just remind you that it’s meant for a younger audience. Usually I don’t mind, but in this case it hits you in the face and it’s pretty jarring. And finally, while I understand the book is NAMED after Naruto, there’s one big instance where his presence just ruined the flow of the book.
My final warning is this: This book isn’t really what I expected it to be. It kind of details how the couples got together like Sai and Ino, Naruto and Hinata, even Chouji and his chick sort of make an appearance. The big, giant, GAPING hole is how Sakura and Sasuke got together, because even though this is Sakura’s book, and it centers around Sasuke really, Sasuke doesn’t show up once and their love story remains a mystery. Well damn…
Regardless, I still loved the book and I’m glad that Sakura got her own story. Can’t wait for more of these!

Fortunately, I found the last chapter translation, it's in Spanish or Portuguese I didn't know, so I translated it to English using google translate HAHAHAHAH

It was a very enjoyable and certainly quite nostalgic read, as I hadn't had much contact with the Naruto world ever since the manga finished. I've been rather sceptical about delving into novels such as this, being afraid that they might be poorly written or have very weak plots and out-of-characters characters, but I'm glad I was proven wrong - as far as this specific novel is concerned, at least.
Sakura is one of my favourite characters from the original series, so I was inevitably delighted to see a story dedicated to her. I found her character very well-written and the plot developped in this novel was very well structured and it might as well have been included in the original manga. The story was well-written, and especially the fighting scenes, but there were some typographic mistakes in the English version (e.g. instead of Sakura's name they often wrote Sasuke, which was confusing at first and annoying as it went on) which could have been easily avoided had the text been more carefully edited and proofread.
I would have certainly liked to see more of Sasuke, but still, I truly enjoyed reading this story. It was a fun and light read, perfect to take my mind off of things.

This book brings up yet another aspect of their improved society that I liked to see-- the idea of mental health, especially in childhood, being just as important as a person's physical wellbeing. Certainly important in this universe, where nearly every character has a sad backstory of some sort. Add this to their proper orphanage and (I assume) foster system and the Leaf Village is on its way to being properly civilized. So there's that.
It wasn't terrible, but I didn't enjoy this author's writing style nearly as much as the last one. It felt very repetitive in some places. Like, I just read this conversation in full less than 10 pages ago, I don't need you to summarize it! Plus, there were multiple dumb mistakes where the wrong character's name was used. A simple thing that can change the entire meaning of a sentence. I know these could be simple translation mistakes, but it really comes across as seeming careless and occasionally makes me wonder how well these authors really know the characters at all.
And on that note, we've reached the main focus on this installment. Sakura. I don't know what it is about Sakura, but all the authors seem to continually drop the ball with her. I know there are people who have always hated her and will continue to hate her no matter what, but she's come so far as a character, and the way she's written just really doesn't seem to reflect that. It's like she regresses every time we bring Sasuke into the picture. And that's saying something, considering he doesn't even make a proper appearance in this story! It just really undermines the sort of romance that I want them to have. Because I do fully support the Sasuke/Sakura pairing, and I believe that she has grown to be the type of person who is able to understand him and take what he's willing to give and be happy with that. She's come a long way from proclaiming her "love" for Sasuke back when she clearly had no idea who he actually was. But this book doesn't really reflect that. It tries to, but we're more than 100 pages in (and these books are not that long) before we get any proof of that. Up until that point, it's just more of Sakura moping after Sasuke, and don't we have a right, by this point, to think she's grown out of that?

Though Sakura certainly isn't one of the best characters in this series, the story was pretty much perfect for a light read- quick pacing, a decent plot and a great insight into how Sakura has changed. I really wish Sasuke had shown up somewhere, but there's only so much you can hope for. ;)

I'd give this a 3.5 rating
After reading Sasuke Retsuden I was really interested in where Sakura's novel would take her character which lead me to reading Sakura Hiden.
What I love about this novel is that it gives a more nuanced look into Sakura as a medical ninja. We get to see just how she's been making a difference through the lens of a post-war ninja world. This side of Sakura often gets over-looked due to how she's poorly written in the manga and anime, so I realy appreciate that we get to see how she's a well-respected, and accomplished medical ninja who's raising and setting the standard, while also adressing real issues with how war can effect not only those on the battlefield, but those at home. Sakura is shown to be constantly at work to improve the lives of shinobi not only at Konoha, but at every village. It's this substance that I wish we got to see more of in the main series.
I also really enjoyed the world-building aspect of everyone's life and relationship now. It's not too much and overbearing the story, but it's nice life details of our favorite characters which is cool to see.
While I liked seeing how Sakura felt about her relationship dynamic with Sasuke leaving the village for his journey, I didn't like how the author washed her character down every time this dynamic got brought up. She would go from a nuanced and interesting individual into caricature that only has one source of motivation and happiness that all stems at Sasuke. Every finer detail about Sakura is just pushed down whenever the story makes her have inner thoughts about where Sasuke is, why isn't he here, does he care about her, etc... I'm not against this type of inner struggle as it can add layers of depth to their relationship, but it's just done in such a regressing way for her character, which really hampered my experience reading.
The main conflict was interesting, I like the idea of a sharingan and biju drug, it's just that the antagonists were shallow, creepy, and uninspired. As well as the fighting sequence being a little bland with a few highlights being Ino using a hawk to pierce Magire, and Sakura counter attacking being pierced by a biju cloak tail. But overall there was just something missing for me here, and I wish Sakura vs Kido was more dynamic.
Overall I did enjoy this story and it did good things with Sakura's character, it just also fell into the same patterns of writing that drag her character down in the main series.

ساکورا هیدن اینجاسستت، سوار بر بهار جوانی و در اندیشه عشق!!
همینکه فهمیدم ساکورا هیدنی اصلا وجود داره، پریدم سمتش. شخصیت ساکورا انقدر تو انیمه کشف نشده بود که واقعا به یه رمان احتیاج داشتیم تا اینهمه gap و فضای خالی تو ذهنمونو پر کنه.
داستان همون شیرینی خاص ناروتو رو داشت، و نیمه اول که به کارهای ساکورا در زمان غیبت ساسوکه می پرداخت از همه جالبتر بود. و البته، این جملات که خیلی به شخصیت نسبتا ناامن و در گذشته کم اعتماد بنفس ساکورا میخورد:
یه نینجا باید ذهن قوی هم در کنار بدن قوی داشته باشه. پس برای همین ازتون خواهش میکنم... شکست یخورید، کارای خجالت اور انجام بدید و ادمایی رو عاشقانه دوست داشته باشید!

Meskipun harus aku akui lumayan aneh rasanya ketika dunia Naruto dituturkan dalam bentuk narasi novel, seri novel "Naruto Hiden" tetap merupakan tambahan bacaan menarik untuk para penggemar Naruto di luar sana. Kalau kau belum puas dengan bagian penutup resmi dari manga Naruto, rangkaian buku dalam seri "Naruto Hiden" sepertinya bisa memberi sudut pandang baru dan sedikit banyaknya memuaskan beberapa pertanyaan yang timbul dalam benakmu.
Kisah dalam "Sakura Hiden" berfokus pada sepak terjang Haruno Sakura pasca Perang Dunia Shinobi Ke-4. Di tengah restorasi yang terus berlangsung pasca perang, Sakura menggagas pendirian klinik khusus untuk anak. Meskipun perang telah berakhir, luka dan trauma yang ditinggalkannya tentu saja masih segar dalam ingatan setiap orang. Klinik ini didirikan untuk memberikan dukungan dan bantuan pada anak-anak yang mengalami trauma pasca perang. Sejujurnya aku sangat menyukai premis ini.
Pada awalnya aku sempat beranggapan bahwa buku ini akan fokus pada hubungan antara Sakura dan Sasuke pasca segala huru-hara perang yang terjadi. Ternyata anggapanku tidak sepenuhnya benar. "Sakura Hiden" lebih fokus pada kisah tentang berbagai masalah yang dihadapi Sakura sebagai seorang ninja medis di era pasca perang. Setelah melakukan perjalanan panjang sendiri (lagi) untuk menebus dosa, kemunculan singkat Sasuke dalam novel ini lumayan sweet menurutku. Aku rasa pada tahap ini pihak penerbit memang gemar mengimingi-imingi fans dengan kisah Sakura dan Sasuke yang selalu penuh rahasia.
Terlepas dari berbagai kekurangan yang ada (seperti kesalahan pengetikan dan rangkaian kalimat yang aneh), "Sakura Hiden" tetap merupakan tambahan bacaan menyenangkan untuk penggemar Naruto yang tertarik pada kisah yang fokus pada tokoh Haruno Sakura. Walaupun bisa dibilang merupakan heroine dalam cerita, kisah dalam manga/anime "Naruto" memang tidak terlalu sering fokus pada Sakura.

I see a lot of positive, "I love Sakura!" type reviews. I would love to have read the book they experienced, because this one sidelines Sakura until the final third so that she can channel her inner anger-strength but only after being captured and humiliated by the big bad. Her only role until then is pining after Sasuke. In fact, Sasuke's absence is more of a focal point of the plot than Sakura for much of the story. I like her method of winning the climactic fight, but it comes after following Sai and Kakashi for more than a little while. Isn't she in the title and cover?
Having said that, I liked that mental health was taken seriously in this magic ninja world.

I was surprised to find out that there is a story about the beloved feminine character in Naruto, Sakura Haruno. Is a good story in terms of battle and the action itself. But there is still something missing. I felt that there must be a closure (for us, the readers and Naruto, anime fans) between Sakura and her lover. I get it, their love is different compared with the other characters in Naruto, but still. It sort of seems like Masashi Kishimoto is teasing us. I can't wait to know more about all characters and maybe who knows, in the future we shall see these short stories animated.

This book is shit!!!! Sakura loves Naruto, she was only obsessed with Sasuke. so please don't mix both obsessive and love. Masashi Kishimoto I am totally disappointed of you!!!

Efectiv ador, mi-a placut mult povestea Sakurei. Prima data credeam ca toata cartea va fi numai despre ea, dar a legat asa de frumos restul personajelor. Vreau sa citesc si restul volumelor Hiden. De asemenea, mi-ar placea sa animeze cartea, o vad ca pe un film sau o amintirea care apare in Boruto.

Se eu alguma vez vir o Kishimoto na rua vou dar-lhe um pontapé nos tomates pela incapacidade dele de escrever personagens femininas boas. Estou farta desta versão horrenda da Sakura. Seria de esperar que a personagem feminina principal de uma das maiores séries de anime do mundo fosse boa. Mas não, só em fanfics é que a Sakura tem algum interesse como personagem.
Havia uma base tão boa na qual podiam ter construído uma personagem tão interessante. Decidiram em vez disso criar uma personagem cujo único objetivo da série é ter um bebé para continuar a árvore genealógica de um gajo emo meio cego e maneta.

Writing was alright. What took me out of it was the blatant misnaming of characters in chapters. They mixed up Sakura and Sasuke's name MULTIPLE times in the MIDDLE of the book. He was never even physically present!
Overall an okay read. Wish they would have made Sakura's story about her own growth and not still pining over Sasuke (I like her as a character, don't be mad).

Reading this was like watching an episode of Naruto, if not maybe a bit longer. The writing was fast-paced and easy to read, so I flew through the novel in one sitting pretty much. In terms of storyline, it's nothing too deep. There is no real mystery or suspense, even if there is some action. It's mostly light-hearted and fun to read.
As it's set after the war, it sort of has more of a slice of life feel to it. It talks about adjusting after war, its effects on people and so on. I liked the focus it had on mental health, especially in children. Which is why, some people might not enjoy this light novel like I have. We don't often get a lot of stories set after the big 'finale', but generally the idea is that they are often more peaceful. This, thus might not be everyone's cup of tea.
In addition, I definitely don't recommend this to anyone who might not like Sakura or hasn't watched at least some of Naruto. I didn't find her whiny or anything, nor did she seem like an obsessed school girl.

Supongo que es más bien un 3.5
Antes de cualquier cosa la gente debería saber que no leo el manga de Naruto (salvo el final) y tampoco veo el anime (uno que otro capítulo random) pero por alguna extraña razón estoy obsesionada con sus personajes.
Yo creo que lo más destacable de la novela es que Sakura Haruno se superó a si misma, me encantó la escena en que expresa su frustración respecto a que Naruto y Sasuke siempre la rescataban y como decide que ya no es la damisela en peligro.
Se hacen muchas referencias a las relaciones románticas que se están dando en Konoha y todo este conflicto emocional que Sakura siente por Sasuke, que mmm... eso fue la parte floja de la historia y sinceramente yo leí el libro buscando algo más.
Ehhh... creo que es como un fanfic, pero esta bien, sobre todo por como nuestran las fortalezas de Sakura.
Me perdí un poco en las escenas de pelea, pero eso tal vez se deba a la traducción o a mi limitada habilidad de leer en inglés.
Antes de cualquier cosa la gente debería saber que no leo el manga de Naruto (salvo el final) y tampoco veo el anime (uno que otro capítulo random) pero por alguna extraña razón estoy obsesionada con sus personajes.
Yo creo que lo más destacable de la novela es que Sakura Haruno se superó a si misma, me encantó la escena en que expresa su frustración respecto a que Naruto y Sasuke siempre la rescataban y como decide que ya no es la damisela en peligro.
Se hacen muchas referencias a las relaciones románticas que se están dando en Konoha y todo este conflicto emocional que Sakura siente por Sasuke, que mmm... eso fue la parte floja de la historia y sinceramente yo leí el libro buscando algo más.

This is an easy and quick read. The writing style isn't great, but I think it was meant to feel like reading manga, so it didn't bother me too much.
Plus, it was really nice to be able to read about Sakura and other loved Naruto characters again, and Sakura here is at her best: hot-headed, smart, capable, and doing things for herself and the people she loves.
It's worth the read if you already know and like the world and its characters; otherwise it'd probably just feel like a really rushed and nonsense adventure. Not that I think a lot of non-otakus would want to read this but you know, just in case.
I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Sakura is showing her strength slowly and surely and seeing some if the couples coming together is really cute especially Naruto and Hinata which is my favorite. It is kind of sad though seeing her pine after sasuke the way she does and some of the errors espically the conversation with Tsunade sakura was continually called sasuke which drove me nuts and I wanted to take a pen to it and fix it.

Like all things, if this was solely about Sakura it would be so good! I like the idea of mental health clinics for kids and wished the whole story just revolved around that.

Aside from the fact that it's yet again put into the fact that Sakura is basically a slave to her own infatuation for Sasuke, finally there is a story where we can see that Sakura is the one doing the battles and trying to make a world better for the children affected by war. I wish these parts were shown in the anime or at least to have a manga specifically made for her. I am tired of seeing Sasuke in an idealistic image from Sakura. I really wanted a story where he is slightly mentioned. And to focus 99% on Sakura. It annoyed me to no ends that everything was happening because they wanted to have something resembling Sasuke. This happened at the start of Boruto as well. I understand Sasuke is valuable but goddammit leave that character behind already. It would have been nice if there was a chapter where she made therapy with some of the children from the therapy center and see how the war affected them, not some capitalist anbu who wanted money.
Either way, I am glad they remembered that Sakura can be on her own and write something a little compelling about her. This character shaped me as a woman growing up and to this day is still my favorite character in the whole universe, but her obsession with Sasuke was something that made me understand how idealizing a person can be a downfall in your own values and person.

Prosta historia trochę przewidywalna, ale to nie przeszkadza czyta się szybko. Jeżeli ktoś jest dużym fanem myślę że warto przeczytać, ale na pewno nie jest to obowiązkowe, nie wnosi nic nowego do całego uniwersum od tak fajny mały dodatek.

People forget how strong Sakura is and how Bad-Ass she can be when she's backed into a corner. Quite the underrated Ninja/Shinobi among Naruto fans but that Ninja Art: Mitotic Regenration Technique is pretty badass when combined with her Cherry Blossom Crash!

I have many things I want to discuss here.
Sakura's Journey
Sakura has come along way from annoying, crybaby that she and others have called her. She has grown into her abilities and has learned that she can fight on her own. That is something really good to see. Her finishing move was great!
Sakura and Sasuke
As I highlighted in the previous section, this book does show how Sakura grew into her abilities, her confidence, and person, but this also talks about Sakura's growing relationship with Sasuke. With that said, I want to highlight some quotes about this.
"'Hmmm...I don't know. Sasuke's incredibly cool. Just me going missing. He won't-' Come back to the village, she tried to say, but a small pain shot through her heart. Would you really not come back, Sasuke? Because it was just me who went missing...She wanted him to come back. But she quickly chased that thought away. That can't happen. If he comes back, he'll be doing exactly what they want. He should definitely not come back. But if he doesn't come back, then that means that he's not particularly worried about me...Sakura was torn between her yearning for Sasuke and her fear for his safety." (Kishimoto, 114)
Before I go into the above quote I want to contrast it with another quote: "No, I'm not. The Doctor does not and has never loved me...I never denied it [loving The Doctor]. But whoever said he loved me back. He's The Doctor. He doesn't going around falling in love with people. If you think he was anything that small or that ordinary then you have not the first idea what you are dealing with...Oh, you are a moron! No he won't...No he isn't of course he isn't.. Well go on scan it then. Go on why don't you. Two hearts. Stupid clothes. You can't miss him! Go on scan the whole parsec! He's not here...When you love the Doctor it's like loving the stars themselves. You don't expect a sunset to admire you back. If I happen to find myself in danger let me tell you the Doctor is not stupid enough or sentimental enough and he is certainly not in love enough to find himself standing in it with me!" River Song from The Husbands of River Song.
When I first read the pages that include the above Sakura quote, it reminded me so much of River Song's above speech. Both Sakura and River are in love with men who they think are super amazing as well as superior to them. Yes, River does not seem to have the low self-esteem that Sakura has about her abilities, but when it comes to the men in their lives they are very much in the same boat in this instance.
Kido: "No matter how many times you try, the result is always the same. Your fists will lose their power..."
Sakura: "'Sorry,' Sakura said, clenching her fists. 'But I'm used to attacking over and over and being repelled!' She started running."
Ugh! This quote hurt, because it shows two things. First, it shows how loyal and unwavering Sakura is towards Sasuke. Second, it also shows that Sakura is both hopeful at the same time knows it is an uphill battle that may not get her her desired result.
Tsunade: "Keep fighting, Sakura. I suppose this is one thing I can't lend a hand with, hm?"
Sakura: "In that case, please bet on me, Master..."
Tsunade: "Bet on you?"
Sakura: "That my love life won't go well. Your bets are often wrong, right? So."
Tsunade: "[Tsunade puffed up proudly and smiled.] 'Got it. I'll do that."
This is sad, funny, and hopeful all at the same time. If you know the future then you know what happens with Sakura and Sasuke.
Hufflepuffs Unite!
"...You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil..." (Rowling, J.K., Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone, 118).
This quote applies to a number of people in Naruto. Sakura in this volume shows Hufflepuff qualities. She's loyal, true, and unafraid of toil. You could also make the argument that she is just. Naruto has loyalty in SPADES and he worked HARD! Speaking of working hard, Lee is the MASTER of hard work. There is probably more, but that is what I see right off the bat.
