The battle for Karakura Town is reaching its climax. The battles are getting more intriguing, and the truth is slowly revealing itself.
Can we appreciate Aizen for being an ultimate villain? Smart and plotting everything to become a deity?
Will Ichigo save the world? Onto the next volume, then a new arc.

As Ichigo returns to the world of the living, Sosuke Aizen enters the battle... with a devastating twist! With the captains of the thirteen courts going against him, the captain general finally enters into battle. I can't help but felt this is getting a little longer than expected. Not that I am complaining but these arc stories I never thought that it can take this long in one location, can be drawing a yawn at times. The battle is almost over for this major arc in the next volume.

I really liked that we had a heavy focus on the captains and vice captains. It helped a lot balance out the situation, gave us interesting abilities and interactions.
The Espadas confuse me in their rankings but not a big deal tbh.
Ulquiorra is my second favorite villain.
HOW is Aizen so strong? Like wtf

A good volume overall! I really enjoyed this one, even considering how it's just continuous fights its still an entertaining read as a volume. I will say there probably should have been more actual deaths? On the soul reaper side no one of much importance has really died. But I suppose that's just classic shounen

A lot of good "aura-farming" here, especially by Kyoraku.

Volume 43: Hisagi confronts Tosen. Mashiro versus Wonderweiss. Lisa confronts Harribel. Soi Fon and Hachigen versus Barragan. Flashback to Barragan meeting Aizen, Ichimaru, and Tosen. Love battles Stark. Rose joins the battle against Stark. Kyoraku takes over for the battle against Stark. Brief flashback to Stark and Lilinette meeting Aizen. Move back to Lisa, Hiyori, and Toshiro versus Harribel. Shinji is also fighting Gin nearby. Aizen slashes Harribel. Mashiro fights Wonderweiss again. Kensei versus Wonderweiss. Hiyori versus Aizen. Hiyori versus Gin, actually (because he cuts her in half). Ichigo is seen diving downward, presumably toward the action. Volume end.
Volume 44: Ichigo comes down to kick Yammy's ass. Ichigo experiences some erectile dysfunction with his Hollow Mask, seemingly as a consequence of his Vasto Lorde form. Byakuya and Kenpachi arrive to assist against Yammy. Kurotsuchi arrives to help deliver Ichigo to Karakura Town. Unohana joins the trip. Yammy transforms again. Tosen uses Hollowfication and attacks Hisagi and Komamura. Tosen activates Resurrección. Hisagi stabs Tosen in the top of the head. Volume end.
Volume 45: Aizen trivializes Shinji's ability. Tosen makes amends with his buddies before Aizen explodes him. Ichigo arrives, but fails to kill Aizen in one strike. Komamura, the other Shinigami, and the Vizards back Ichigo up. Aizen dabs on Komamura, Rose, Love, and Lisa. Soi Fon, Hitsugaya, and Kyoraku team up to defeat Aizen, but it turns out to be an illusion and Toshiro just stabbed Hinamori. Aizen drops his coldest line. Aizen claps Toshiro, Soi Fon, Kyoraku, and Shinji all at once. Yamamoto steps in, but his fire is countered by Wonderweiss's Resurrección. Yamamoto defeats Wonderweiss with raw strength and uses a big-ass fire Hado spell on Aizen to distract him while Ichigo jumps in. Volume end.

This 3 in 1 is also good.
MILD SPOILERS
The fight with Stark and Lilinette was interesting but somewhat meh, but the fight with Barragan was actually very exciting as it involved so much back and forth.
As to Tosen, good riddance, never really liked him, even when he was a supposed “good guy” and at the end he was just lame.
I have a soft spot for Aizen, there are some parts when he is just so good at being bad, but then one knows he’s going to be defeated eventually so he can’t really be all that… a shame…

I loved the back stories portrayed in the volumes 43 and 44. Giving more insight on motives why powerful hollows follow Aizen. Also showcasing new abilities in these two volumes was very good for a change. In volume 45 an amazing battle takes place, Aizen shows how powerful and smart is.
We are getting near the end of this story arc, can’t wait to read what’s next!
