Losing Stars by J. Sterling
“My heart! 5 stars”

Okay, if you are not up for a gut punch of a story that brings out one of your worst fears as someone in a relationship then walk away from Losing Stars right now. Losing Stars is the story of my worst nightmare. The whole time I was rubbing my chest with tears built up in my eyes cursing Sterling hoping she could pull it off, and she did in the nick of time. If you want a lighthearted romance look somewhere else because this isn’t it.
Quinn and Ryson are Hollywood’s IT couple. Since they got together there has been no one else and never will be. They are the perfect team, a powerhouse. With only one disagreement between the two. When something happens to Ryson everything is brought into perspective. Will that really be their last conversation? Will the last time she told him she loved him be said with hurt in her eyes? Only one way to find out.
I loved these two and because of that I am leaving my review as vague as possible. Losing Stars is one of those stories that you just need to jump into blindly and fall in love with. I loved the couple and I could see both sides of how they felt. I loved their friends who played a big part in the story. Sterling just killed it with these two and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Losing Stars is J. Sterling's best work yet. She put something special into this story making it a great read. Throughout the entire story I was invested in Ryson and Quinn. The chemistry between the two of them was believable and made the storyline work. While the story had depth and substance, Sterling managed to keep it light and fun. I enjoyed that this story was a love story not a sex story yet, it didn't lack passion or feelings. It was flirty, sweet and didn't need all the graphic details to convey the characters love.
If you're looking for a love story that is sweet, endearing and beautiful. Then Losing Stars is it.

I devoured this book. I mean I seriously don't think I even looked up while I was reading it. All of a sudden I turned the last page and hours had gone by! I've been anxiously awaiting Quinn and Ryson's book and it did not disappoint.

Once again I was reminded of why I love Sterling's stories so much. She writes her characters in a way that they become a part of you. You cheer for their successes and you mourn their losses. I laughed, I cried, and I even got angry. Every single emotion was worth it in the end.

If you haven't yet, order this book, you're going to want to read it as soon as it drops October 4.

Quinn & Ryson's story is FANTASTIC! Emotional & beautiful. I love the way this was written - Normally I don't like flashbacks because they throw me out of the present story. However, w/ the way Quinn & Ryson's relationship has been through the series (we met them in Seeing Stars, book 1), the flashbacks were perfectly placed and the perfect length to let us in on the beginning of their relationship.

I absolutely was NOT expecting where this went, and it was such a great way to honor the series & this couple. There were tears, of course. I knew there would be tears! But the HEA was SO WORTH IT. I loved the journey - not only of Quinn & Ryson, but of Madison & Walker and Paige & Tatum, and the way their friendships fit together perfectly.

So, 10+ stars for this story, and for the series as a whole. Favorites, reread & recommendation shelves! : )

I was not prepared for Losing Stars by J. Sterling. Though this is the third book in the series, it is the first book I have read and I loved it. I was able to read it and not feel lost but let me tell you I am definitely going back and reading the first two books in the series as soon as I can!

I was completely captivated by Ryson and Quinn’s story. They loved each other deeply, but was it enough? Hollywood’s IT couple. But celebrities or not, love is never an easy journey and these two definitely put me through the ringer. It was an emotionally charged story and gave me all kinds of feels. There may have been a tear shed as well. Their journey was not an easy one, but definitely worth the read!

Happy reading!

J. Sterling and I have a love-hate relationship. Ever since I picked up her first book on a bus ride to Chicago, where I was set to meet her for the first time I have loved her. I hate her because I was the crazy woman, sitting on a bus, crying because the book broke my heart. Well, I have to say, J. did it again. Just when she got back into my good graces, she breaks me all over again. Losing Stars was the book I honestly didn't see coming. But the more I read, the more my heart broke. I actually had to put this book down and walk away at one point. I honest to goodness, felt so invested in this story, that I had to keep reminding myself, it was just a book. One that almost physically hurt to read.

For me, J. Sterling's books are about humor and falling in love. This book was so much more than that. She surprises me (not really) at every turn with what she can do to me as a reader. I should have known she was going to give me a story that would break me. It was about time. I love the feeling in this book. I loved falling in love with Quinn and Ryson. I loved that my heart hurt for what they went through...yes, I loved that. Here's why. I know these are fictional characters, but J. Sterling's words remind us that we all have things we are going through. And they aren't always easy. They hurt, they make us sad, and they make us real. I felt that in this book. I felt things from this story I haven't felt in a very long time.

Thank you Jenn for writing such a super amazing story. And again...making me ugly cry!

I’ve read all of J. Sterling’s books so I’m already a big fan of her writing and this book was no different. It was such a good book with a storyline that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. It had angst, it had romance, it had everything I needed (and wanted) from a book so ticked every box for me. Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone so you don’t have to have read the first two books to understand what’s going on but they’re just as good so I’d highly recommend reading those as well anyway 😁
A massive five stars from me. I’d recommend everyone get this book and while you’re there I’d suggest grabbing the other two books in the series to read the other two couples stories as well 😊
Can’t wait for the next book J. Sterling releases!

This book had my heart and attention from the first word. Being the last of the celebrity series, I was already in love with the love of Ryson and Quinn, but to finally have their story. It was everything. It’s the one of truest of love stories I have ever read.
Jenn’s brings full circle their love story, you get to truly know them amongst the biggest challenge they could face. She gives you the ups and downs of living the life they do and throws you into this whirlwind of a ride all while learning about what truly matters most. I really don’t think I took a true breath until I closed the book, I just had to know that a love like theirs would always have a place in the stars and shining just as brightly.

I’m not the best at writing reviews, so instead I want to share my thoughts while I read this book:
“Awww, warm fuzzies. I love these two.”
“I saw something like this coming! Grrrr.”
“OMG What the hell is happening?”
“OMG J Sterling is an awful, horrible person. I’m ugly crying.”
“Oh. My. God! Oh no she didn’t do this to me!”
“I’m heart broken. I can’t go on!”
“When is this going to stop breaking my heart?”
“Glimmer of hope is that you?”
“I. Am. Ugly. Crying. Again.”
“Oh I love this!”
“Cue more ugly crying.”
This book took me through such a roller coaster of emotions. It was so amazing. I loved it so much.

This was a fantastic book. My heart broke for what Ryson and Quinn went through. You could feel the sadness from Quinn and the frustration from Ryson coming off the pages. I love getting sucked into a book that feels completely real. Even though these two were celebrities, their situation could happen to anyone. Being rich and famous meant nothing. It didn’t change the suffering these two went through.

I loved this book and this series. All of these couples were amazing. I love Ms. Sterling’s writing. She’s as amazing as her books.

This was a really sweet book. I enjoyed how this established couple was thrown a huge hurdle that impacts not only each person but their family and close friends. Quinn and Ryson's story (their book in the third in the Celebrity series) was easy to follow, even if you haven't read any of the other books. This was a quick, enjoyable afternoon read and the perfect way to spend a few hours.

Shame. This book had the potential to be so much more, what with the given synopsis. Unfortunately, execution was done very poorly. I felt 0 connection with both the main leads.

Not only that, but we are introduced to a potential idea of a reality tv show that was scrapped by an accident that happens to the Hero which causes him to lose his memories.

Most of the book focuses on the hero being an absolute asshole towards the heroine (the level of animosity the hero felt towards the heroine was honestly so appalling— like it came out of left field). After having dealt with emotional turmoil, the heroine just rolls on her back and exposes her belly to the hero the second he remembers her? Pathetic.

Poorly explained, poorly executed. The author could have taken a different route— maybe have them temporarily break up over the marriage issue in the beginning, move forward with the reality tv show due to contacts, add jealousy, angst, and whatnot, and have the two resolve it in the end which leads them to getting married.

That would have been a better plot than the garbage I’ve just read. Pity.

This was surprisingly enjoyable! I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where the amnesia trope takes center stage. I fully expected to dislike it, but I didn’t. In fact, I was completely drawn in. For such a short book, it packed a surprising emotional punch.

The anguish Quinn (the FMC) feels as she waits for Ryson to recover his memories is palpable. You really feel her hope, her heartache, and everything in between. I couldn’t put this book down. I ended up binging it in a single day.

If you enjoy Hollywood romances and emotionally charged, character-driven stories, I recommend picking this one up.

I had a bit of a break between reading the first two books in the series and this one. I wasn't sure I was entirely interested in finishing the series. I am so glad I did. This was the best of the books.
The storyline about forgetting your relationship and how difficult and emotive that would be. Learning who you are again when all your interests, job, friends are just alien to you must be hard. It must also be impossible to be yourself and know the relationship you had with a person who doesn't resemble themselves any more. Where there is love and memories but they don't remember.
Complacency really can be the death of a relationship but so too can not being able to overcome challenges and adversity. This book had us on tenderhooks to see how it ended up.
I was utterly enthralled but equally loved the friendships and relationships the wider main characters shared as a collective.
This book really was amazing. So glad I read it.

Absolutely loved it! You did make me cry Jenn Stirling and that's no easy feat!

Quinn and Ryson met on a movie set in their teens, and after a short separation, had been together ever since. Their relationship was solid apart from their one disagreement over marriage. Quinn wanted to and Ryson was dead against it. This wasn't a subject raised often, but it had come up, and they disagreed.

It was after one of those disagreements that circumstances meant their lives changed. New challenges arise that would test the strongest relationship - would they survive.

Audio -

Rhyson and Quinn - although I read this book in a day, it was just okay. To be fair, I don’t like books that are flashbacks and this fell into that category. Double ding….I hate amnesia books. So this book was set up to be a loss from the beginning. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this couple since Quinn played such a huge role in the previous book.

To be fair it was very well written. This is a great author. Not spicy or erotic at all. Just average for me again because of the topics it covered. I do recommend it though for sure.

We wait four years for this. Is it worth? I don’t think so but a good closure.

Are they really need that dramatic way to keep going? I don’t think so, she can do it better for giving a better ending of Q & R, she selected the easy but not persuasive approach. Am I disappointed, no, because after years and years waiting, I forgot most of the lines of their gang. I k changing since then, no bother me but it’s a good closure of this.

Crazy emotional rollercoaster- grab tissues!

Not what I expected at all after reading the two prior books in the Celebrity series, but I sobbed my way through this heartbreaking story. It was like my one of my worst dreams come true! Gah!! Mighty thankful for a HE and a fabulous writer! J. Sterling knows how to put the reader in the characters head space like no other. And great job with the research needed to tell both sides of the story!!

Oh. My. Gosh.

Talk about gut wrenching & painful! Just when you think all is well for Quinn & Ryson the world turns upside down! I can’t even find the words to describe how my heart broke during reading this but thankfully it was pieced back together by the end and I wanted to scream from the rooftops how much I loved this story! Quinn & Ryson have a love like no others, dream worthy, or maybe only in the movies, but one we all yearn for I have no doubt!

This story took me on a whirlwind of a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I cannot imagine not being remembered by the love of my life because of a freak accident.

Their story is heartbreakingly tragic but it's also amazing and beautiful. It took the couple's love being put to the test in order to learn what truly matters.

They came with scars but they will never forget how critical it is to be there for each other no matter how difficult it gets.

Last book in the series. Main characters are Quinn and Ryeson. A MF couple of actors living together but Ryeson never wants to get married. A terrifying surfing accident leave Ryeson with no memory. Quinn a hard working actor who worked so hard on her career has time to read all the gossip mags, not work and start to sell the house 2 months after the accident. Very predictable story. I listened to the audiobook.

Why I loved: Best one of the series! The dual POV is so powerful. The story was heartbreaking - I definitely shed some tears. The wrenches thrown into the story were so unexpected. The flashbacks were beautiful and added depth so the story. I don’t think I’ve heard Meg Sylvan before but I have heard Oliver Clarke. This was my favorite book of the series - I really loved the whole group and the fact we got everyone’s stories.

Quinn and Ryson's book did not disappoint. They have a love they you can not help but want.  When they are challenged with a heartbreaking event you could feel the sadness in the characters. Sterling has a way of making you get so caught up in the story that it feels so real and you can relate with her characters. This book is so incredible and full of emotions.

Listened to this on Audible.

Oh my gosh, chapter 7 had me in full body chills. My heart was fully invested in this book. Description and narration is great.
I felt relatable to Ryson on my outlook on marriage but my parents are still together.

If you have a soft heart and cry easily, don’t listen to this at work. Definite tears from me. I loved all the characters in this series.

Thank you Jenn for bringing me out of my book funk. I've always loved her stories and Losing stars was no exception. Ryson and Quinn were such an adorable couple. I was in my feels with this book. I even cried twice and started tearing up at the end. Highly recommend this book but make sure you read the 1st 2 of the series so you get to know the other characters.
