*** From the USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Jo Raven comes the second installment in the Inked Brotherhood series which began with ASHER ***
Four years have passed since I left home, my parents, and my brother Asher behind – since I shut out my past.
And Erin. Four years since I last saw her, since I heard her voice and held her in my arms. I’ve spent my time forging a path from woman to woman, from bed to bed, trying to find an answer. But I think I’ve lost my way. There’s no light at the end of the dark.
No big surprise. I carry the dark inside me. I’m a bastard – branded as such from the start. I never give my phone number and address. I take my pleasure, and don’t come back for seconds. No commitments, no promises and no happy endings. Yeah, I’m a bastard down to the bone and I don’t give a damn.
But now I’m back in my birth town, the town I fled at eighteen – back to make amends to the brother I abandoned and watch from afar the only girl I’ve ever wanted. Hope isn’t a currency I can afford. I learned that lesson long ago.
Yet when she looks at me and says my name, I can’t help but hope.
Standalone novel. No cliffhanger. *Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young readers.*

"We are brothers. Pain has made us so. We stand by each other. Pull each other up when we fall. We are the family we never had."
Book two in the Inked Brotherhood series was a solid 3.5 stars for me. I was going to give this one a four stars; but quite frankly the heroine held on to a secret far too long for my liking, and when it was finally revealed...the intensity of the moment was passed over way too quickly. I would have preferred it to be revealed way earlier, and given more time to have the people involved experience more emotions that really would have been realistic to the situation. I know this is cryptic; but I am not one to put spoilers in any of my reviews!! All in all though, "Tyler" was a huge improvement from the first book, and I am now fully invested in the series.
For starters, I love how there are five guys who are united by the pain that they have experienced in their past. We have been told what Asher's and Tyler's pain is but not any of the others yet. Part of this is because Tyler and Asher are brothers; therefore they share a lot of the similiar experiences...not all are the same though. Another thing these guys share is lots of ink, muscles, and let's face it; sex appeal! I mean, look at the covers on these books! LOL Each story in this series is about one of the Brotherhood members, and the woman with whom they are in love with.
In this installment, Tyler has come back to his hometown after being gone for four years. He left his brother behind, as well as Erin; who is the love of his life. Tyler is in a real dark place within himself when he comes back. He has major issues, but through it all he has kept a photograph of "his girl" and he pulls it out and strokes it when he is going through one of his panic attacks. This guy will make your heart bleed for him. I felt so sorry for him and what he had been through in his life. He is trying hard to better himself too, as he wants to be there for Asher, and at least make amends to Erin for leaving the way he did.
Erin I had a little more trouble with. Yes, I felt somewhat badly for her; however I do feel that she held on to her "secret" for way too long. It put me right off, and for that reason my sympathy for her was very little! I did like the fact that she always went to Tyler when he needed her. In the beginning, it was quite frequent; but she was there. It made me so sad that Tyler didn't feel he was worthy of anybody's attention or care. On the whole, I loved Erin and Tyler as a couple and was very hopeful that they could move forward from their pasts.
I am glad that I have kept going with this series. This story showed us more interaction with the guys, and also went into more depth with the characters emotions. Up next is Zane, he is tattoed, pierced, and oh yeah; he has a mohawk!!! I just know this guy will be an interesting character to learn about!!! Bring on more Inked Brothers!!!
Well the part that I loved about Tyler the most is a secret so I cannot even talk about it a little bit without giving away some major spoilers. But that angle to the story had me anticipating and waiting for when it would be known to everyone involved. My only real complaint was that it took too long for that to happen and then I feel like we didn't get enough time to watch the wonderfulness of the results of that reveal.
The sex was smoking hot. I really started to understand and like Erin because she was a total bitch in the previous book. Now that I know her back story though I actually admire her and respect her a great deal. I also respect Tyler for all that he went through. As a result of his upbringing and one traumatic event in particular he developed a massive amount of maladaptive coping skills to deal with life. He finds his way in this book as well, and it was great to watch. Just wonderful stuff. I cannot wait to read more.
wow....wow.....wow....fucking wow! I think I love Tyler MORE then Asher! he has a heart of gold. He's the kind of man every girl dreams of....romantic, soft yet hard on all the right places. Erin....who knew she could be so sweet? and she has something up her sleeves...but that's her story to tell.
I love the way thos story was written, how Tyler and Erin's characters were portrayed. the story near damn broke my heart. and it made me happy too. great things that you need in a book. and of course hectic drama that everyone loves in a book!! well done Jo!! you've done it again! <3
As a reader I thought my love for Asher was unshakable, but he has some stiff competition.... his brother Tyler! Shocking I now, but totally serious. This book picks up where book 1 left off. Tyler is back in town, to reconnect with Asher, but he comes with secrets. Tyler, as most of the characters in this series, has issues. He has not have a normal life or childhood. Things are very rough for him, he is dealing with long standing problems but wants to make things right. All the characters are very real in this book, as a reader I could relate to them and their very believable situations. This book includes the characters from book 1, the sense of family and brotherhood runs through the whole book. Everyone is connected, the guys are hot, tormented and trying to lead better lives while taking care of others. These are very complex character with many layers that we get to see as the series goes on. The females in the book are strong, Erin is stronger than most and has a secret!!!! First love.... second chance!! I read this book 1 one sitting, it held me captive throughout. We get to know more of Tyler and Erin, though flashbacks at the beginning but this only enhances the story. The storyline is fantastic, yes boy loves girl... but the journey is what makes the story. So beautiful.. I cried happy, sad, angry and frustrated tears. But all so worth it.. the story had it all! It was sad, tender, loving, sweet and sometimes ugly but what a story. I knew going in that I would not be disappointed and Jo Raven delivered and rocked it! I sooooo recommend not only Tyler but the whole series. Because I know the impossible will happen and the next books will be even better!! I will be now stalking the next book in the series, don't know who it will be but there's this guy a have my eye on.. Zane! So, do not wait, go buy this book and get to know the guys that work at the tattoo shop called Damage Control. Did I mention they were hot and tattooed?? That got your attention, right!?!? Seriously though, I'm so in love with Tyler (and Asher), I want everyone to also fall in love with him...
I'm really enjoying this series. It's quite emotional and some of the subject matter is hard to read. Tyler was amazing, to be able to survive what he did is a miracle. The ending was perfect...such a great read!
Loving this series. Tyler may be even more tortured than Asher. The story is very emotional and dark at times. But we see Tyler come out a better man, the ending was absolutely perfect and I can't wait to read more from this gang.
Tyler's story is one that everyone must read. This man is strong, caring, loving and he is HOT!!!!
After four years of being gone he finally returns to his childhood hometown. He needs to make amends and needs closure. Four years ago he walked away from everything!
Since he left he has been caring around so much hate and so much guilt. Its time to address some of the issues and clear the air. Hopefully, start new.
On his agenda is apologizing to his brother Asher. Asher, had a near death experience and Tyler feels guilty. Asher feels as though Tyler didn't care about him and just walked out. But, there is a story that can be a bit tough at times but worth the read. We learn why Tyler is how he is.
The other part of his agenda and also a very important part of his past is Erin. Erin was the one. Even four years ago when they were so young he know she was it for him. But with so much happening in Tyler's life and him having to leave town, Erin and he had to part ways and it was a tough split. So much was said and he is so hurt but yet so in love with her. All he wants is to see her again.
The book deals with a few real life issues. Issues many in our society deal with. This was a huge deal for me as a reader. I enjoy reading books that have real life issues. That cover the good, the bad and the ugly of whatever condition of characters are dealing with. You will get some of that in this book.
The group of characters in this story line are just people we all wish we could have in our lives. They build each other up they call each other out. They love each other, they are a family. They help Tyler get the closure he is seeking and help him find his future.
The story has a sweet surprise and I just adored it, hope you do too. Jo Raven is a for sure 1-click author. Her writing style is easy to follow and flows beautifully. She delivers another amazing book in Tyler. Hope everyone gets a chance to read it.
I had really high hopes for Tyler's book, and loved the first half. What let it down for me was that it should have been fleshed out a lot more:-
* The reunion with Asher, it did not do either of their stories justice because it was glossed over.
* Erin - I detested her in Asher, she came across as a real cold bitch. I sort of understand now why she was like that to Asher but it was unforgivable. It was as a result of her running her mouth four years previously that got her in the predicament she was in now. I didn't warm to her at all through Tyler's book, she came across as totally self absorbed.
* The ending (Jax) was so rushed, I blinked and it was done. That should have been built up to be so much more, leaving me feeling that their story was not done. Did they get their HEA, I'm assuming so, though I was not shown (or even told).
Another amazing book in the Inked Brotherhood series, this one is #2 and I think it's my favorite! Although I say that about Jo Raven's books that I have listened to in Audible. Tyler, oh my goodness his story is a heart braking, he has had a traumatic life and he is only 23 years. Tyler is Asher's older brother, their father boxed underground for the Russian mafia, he would abuse them so much it's a miracle they are still alive. It's a good day when he dies, and also they have supportive friends. Tyler came back to town after their father died, Asher his brother is mad at him for leaving, but there are so many reasons he had to leave and he will reveal them to Asher. Erin she was Tyler's girlfriend, at they were in love and when he left it broke her inevery way. This is such a loaded storyline and a happily ever after. It's a definite must read/listen, I am extremely happy I found Jo Raven on Audible. The narrators she used for Erin and Tyler are the very talented Ava Erickson my favorite female narrator and the sexy Teddy Hamilton.
Ok I have decided this series isn't for me which I am disappointed about because I was really wanting to like it. Too much of the story left me scratching my head. I feel like a bit of a broken record when I say the characters aren't consistent. Firstly it is a little strange for an 18 year old to be the sole proprietor of a successful tattoo shop. The way the guys (Zane, Rafe etc) all act like they are at least mid-late 20s, not 18 year old kids.
As for the main characters Tyler and Erin....I actually liked them because Tyler was older, and I think being a parent can make anyone grow up fast so Erin wasn't as self absorbed as Audrey in book 1. But I was really confused about Tyler's background and how that all even happened. Tyler and Asher had a loving mother who, upon discovering her husband bound and tortured her oldest son for 2 days, does nothing but send his away to a man she doesn't know very well and consequently gets him hooked on drugs? WTF? This came across as contrived. Was their mother a beaten down doormat which would explain here doing this? We don't know because it wasn't explained fully, but it was hinted life was all ice cream and rainbows until Tyler was in his late teens - so I can only assume it was a normal happy home. Plus, this is just personal preference, but I would have like Erin's big reveal to happen earlier in the book. As it was when the big secret came out, it seemed rushed and swept aside. I would have liked to read more about how they made it work rather than all the sex and drama before hand.
This review won't make much sense if you haven't read the book. Keeping it cryptic. There was so many avenues for greatness in the book. I liked it, but felt it's potential was glossed over and the issues discussed only touched the surface versus being delved in to. All the issues presented could have been great reading material, but I would have rather seen less if that meant they'd be more flushed out. The reunion toward the end fell flat and could have been beyond great. Still, a decent, light series despite the subject matter. Zane is up next. 2.5-3
Enjoyed this one more than I did the first book in the series. I just wished with this it would have went a little different. I can always appreciate a book that isn't over the top with the drama. But with Erin's big secret coming out at the end it just didn't seem real. I felt it should have been at the beginning and we could see how she and Tyler handled it. Overall it wasn't a bad read and it moves rather quickly. Now next to Zane's book.
After what we learned happened to Asher I didn't think Tyler's story could be worse, but my god, it was. And I think the worst thing about it all was that unlike Asher who had friends, Tyler had no one. Coming back home for Asher turned out to be the best thing for Tyler. While it took a bit, it allowed him to reconnect with his brother, with Erin, to put his demons to rest and find so much more.
Out of all the inked brotherhood novels, Tyler is probally my favorite. His story line was more complex. The way she wrote Tyler's P.O.V you could feel every emotion from his pain, panic attacks to his love for Erin. Also, the way the guys welcomed Tyler to inked brother hood and other things Tyler said got me emtional. And the fact he looked up dating online to get it right with Erin it made my heart skip a beat.
TYLER (Inked Brotherhood #2) is by Jo Raven. Published: July 21,2014 Read: August 20, 2014 Re-read: May 20, 2016 My Rating: 5 Cover: 5
So I've read this book a couple of times and recently realized I never gave it a proper review. Time to rectify that.....
Tyler is the second book in the Inked Brotherhood series. It was no less intense and tragic than book one, Asher, who is Tyler's younger brother.
I'm going to warn you now. You will fall in love with Tyler. You will feel protective of him and you will want to hurt those that have hurt him. Just saying. Jo Raven does not write fluff. Not even close. Jo's heroes may be tattooed, sexy hotties, but they are broken, tortured and in need of love and healing. Four years ago Tyler left home abruptly. You will absolutely cry when you learn about Tyler's past. He had to leave behind his younger brother Asher, and the sweet girl he loved, Erin. But now he's back. Tyler wants to reconnect with Asher and make amends for leaving but Asher is angry and hurt. As far as Asher is concerned, Tyler abandoned him and he doesn't want to forgive. Tyler doesn't know how to move past Asher's anger but he needs to try and make up for the past. A past which was not his fault. Erin is the girl he left behind without a word. To say she is angry and hurt is an understatement. However, Tyler doesn't think he should try to reconnect with Erin. He believes himself too damaged and she deserves the best. Certainly not the broken soul that he is now. The horrific reasons that Tyler left may no longer be relevant but unfortunately he has new horrors to deal with.
I don't want to give away any details. Tyler's issues will unravel slowly and with each setback you will be right there with him. You will feel his pain and torment. You will pray for him and those close to him; those he loves, as his secrets are revealed. Tyler is overwhelmed with love and support; something he never had before. Tyler will have his happily ever after. I promise!
Love isn't always enough to heal the horrors of the past...but sometimes it is.
"We are brothers. Pain has made us so. We stand by each other. Pull each other up when we fall. We are the family we never had."
Tyler returns home to male peace with his past. Irrevocably damaged at the hands of the man who he called dad Tyler exists in his own personal hell, trapped in a nightmare and living with his failures. Coming home to salvage his relationship with his younger brother now they are all alone can Tyler bare the past to explain why he disappeared four years ago? Asher is angry and hurt, blinded by his own suffering to see what is right in front of him. Thrown together by Zane, Rafe and Dylan Tyler must face his demons...
Erin has secrets of her own but when a blast from her past emerges she must decide whether she can forgive and forget. Struggling with her secret get heart aches for the shadow of the man she stills loves. She sees his inner conflict but is too emotionally involved to recognise his pain. Fighting her urge to run Erin decides to fight for her love. Can she accept the mistakes of the pat, forgive and learn to trust him again? Trust him to stay?
Tyler's story is one of survival and courage. He decides to tackle the demons haunting him and addresses his problems, rightly or wrongly he does what he thinks is best to conquer his past. His panic attacks and coping methods are gut wrenching and I found his whole story heart warming and emotional. I thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's story and how Zane could identify with Tyler's fractured soul and welcomed him into to his family without Tyler even noticing the transition.
I'm not one for normally writing reviews unless asked but this book deserves it!(:
Now as soon as I noticed that Tyler's book was out I had to have it because I loved Asher's and was hoping that Tyler's had more insight to the story of there farther and the reasons why he left and I was totally rooting for Asher until I read this book! Wooow!!!!! Poor Tyler! This story was heartbreakingly beautiful for him, and I maybe a little hated Asher because of they way he treated Tyler.... I thought Erin was perfect for him and bless her she was completely misunderstood through most of it! There story was hard on the heart and I did guess the (secret) early on but it didnt weaver my feelings towards the book one bit in fact in made me want to see the reaction! The only complaint I have it that I would have like a little more detail on it but that's because I enjoyed the book(: Loved the fact that the characters from the first book were in this a lot and set up nicely for the next story...
Definitely recommend this book if you enjoyed the first and if by chance you've come across this one make sure you read the first otherwise I won't make much sense...(get the tissues because it's a heartbreaker)
I'm completely in love with this series and with Jo Raven's writing. Boy did I cry, even more that when I cried reading Asher.
The characters portrayed in Jo Raven's books have very realistic characteristics.
She gives us characters with complex personality, but with hearts of gold.
This guys are thicker than blood, the bond they share is only challenged by that of real brothers. The girls are strong and support them beautifully.
As I've said before the talent that Jo has to keep the story flowing from one book to the other is just ridiculous.
The characters in this series have had a rough life, have to overcome many adversities: economic, psychological, in love and all other aspects of life. Jo takes us in a roller coaster, my emotions where all over the place. I laughed, cried. got mad as hell.
Tyler is another great book in this spectacular serial created by Author Josephine (Jo) Raven. Is a book everyone should buy. And I hope you do and enjoy it as much as I did. I bid you goodreads.
Great job JO, keep it up. If you write it they will buy and read.
I really wanted to love this series but I'm only into the second book and its not grabbing my attention. From the covers I thought "oh these are good." Sadly thats not the case. After finishing the first in the series I was left questioning so much. Then I started the second and it just caused more questions.
The name alone for the series confuses me. Why are they inked brotherhood. Nobody knows! Yes I understand they all had a crappy life but some of the "brotherhood" don't like each other. Nobody knows why they are the way they are. Just that they had a crappy life. Whats the significance of the tattoo. Not yet told the meaning of it. Just seems like a random design that has no meaning. An 18 year old owning his own tattoo parlour? Really? Come on now. The characters seemed like they were supposed to be in their mid 20's or older but they were only 18.
I really don't want to seem like I'm disrespecting the author but I'm just going to stop the series. It's just not a good read for me.

Tyler, amazing read! I loved this book. Compared to book one of the series, Asher, this book is amazing! It rocked my world! From the start up to the last everything is great! The characters and the story are awesome!
The characters, Tyler and Erin are easy to love, to relate with and get attached into! Tyler, because of the truth that he learned he left home. Not only he left his brother but also the only woman he loved, Erin. Despite the years that pass, his love for Erin is still strong. Erin, an amazing woman who is willing to sacrifice for her loved ones. When the two cross path, their feeling for each other ignites that it cannot be denied. Secrets will be revealed. Will the love for each other enough?
Ms. Jo did a really good job in making Tyler an amazing and interesting read! Can't wait for more of the Inked Brotherhood series!
Tyler and Erin have some unfinished business and its defiantly time for these two find their way back to each other. Tyler haunted by the memories of his terrible childhood had been banished and driven away until recent tragedies and circumstances have lead him back home once more. But coming home isn't easy and he really isn't given the great welcome by his brother Asher or the love of life that he was forced to leave behind Erin. Erin has been wondering everyday since Tyler left where he went and why he went but in the end she had to pick herself up by the bootstraps and move forward with what Tyler left behind. When these two reunite sparks once again fly but Erin sure she should give heart away again to the man who once abandoned her and Tyler still has so much baggage. Secrets can really destroy true loves changes for a HEA.
Definitely better than Asher, the first book in the series. It fits more into the NA genre as expected, whereas Asher I believe was more YA. It is certainly a more steamy read than the first book in the series. I thought it was really well written with elements concerning Tyler's dada and how it was evident how much his dad hated him. It really pulled at the heart strings!! I liked how Jo Raven managed to keep Jax a secret secret because usually you know at the start of the book when the girl is pregnant and hasn't told the father. But Jo managed to keep it well hidden because I didn't latch on until Erin passed on the phone with Jax to Tess. I'm excited to read the next book in this series after finishing Tyler because I'm really interested in Zane's character.

I really loved this book, i mean who does not want a tattooed hottie right ? these damage boys are HOT !! what i really love is they are not perfect they have their own everyday problems that isn't huge but not small either, kinda like it could be the guy next door, i can't give away a single thing about this book in fear of revealing the secret hidden but i will say this romantic , funny , moody , sexy all rolled into one and i have got to read the rest of these bad boys i cannot wait to see what is in store ! brilliant book hopeless romantics this one is for you, would Tyler be my book boyfriend? ... Hell yes i would Totally marry him and did you see the COVER !! Hello Hot Stuff mmmm Mine
This one was a little bit shorter, really HOT and amazingly beautiful.
His past made him to leave and even when he wanted to go back, he couldn't because the family that once loved him, were the ones who send him away.
Erin, beautiful, strong and independent only wants to understand why did Tyler leave, never looking back and after four years he is so changed, but something is still the same, the fire between them, the love they once shared.
In this book the author not only gives us an amazing story, but answers some of the issues that Asher has with Tyler. Great story!
OMG When I thought that I wouldn't warm up to Tyler after book 1, I got wholeheartedly mistaken - Tyler grabbed my heart from page 1 - All his suffering and pain, all his self doubts and concerns - I'm hooked by this suffering boys - one more AWESOME READ
