She's spent twelve years waiting for the *but. He doesn't have one.*
Delia Fontaine walks into every room braced for the sentence that ends with but. Rafe Kelly — six foot six, black to the wrist, and done being careful — takes one look at her and tells her exactly what he sees. Item by item. No but.
He fixes her gate for free. He puts her on his workbench with the lights on. And when her sister comes to town with a folder full of reasons to leave, Rafe already knows what it costs to stay — because he wrote it down before she'd decided.
She thought she was a project. He knows she's the whole point.
A Kellys of Rye Creek romance · Book One. He leaves the lights on.
I enjoyed reading this story, Rough Hands, book one in the series. It is a quick read and romance with a good helping of spicy adult fun.
The story is written in that way where the reader has to deduce most things as the main characters mostly infer happenings in the dialogue more than this author outright states what’s going on. That part is frustrating but the main characters, Delia and Rafe, were entertaining. I was left with unanswered questions, but Delia and Rafe did get their happy ending. Read On!
It is a well written book, but it’s more erotica than anything else. The storyline doesn’t really delve into much of their past, but it was an interesting first meet. I may try the second book and see if it’s any better.
