Saranna De Wylde has always been fascinated by things better left in the dark. She wrote her first story after watching The Exorcist at a slumber party. Since then, she’s published horror, romance and narrative nonfiction. Like all writers, Saranna has held a variety of jobs, from operations supervisor for an airline, to an assistant for a call girl, to a corrections officer. But like Hemingway said, “Once writing has become your major vice and greatest pleasure, only death can stop it.” So she traded in her cuffs for a full-time keyboard. She loves to hear from her readers.

Saranna writes nonfiction under the name Sara Lunsford. Her memoir about her time as a corrections officer called Sweet Hell on Fire releases Nov 1 from Sourcebooks.

Princess of the Pack (The Woolven Secret #1.5) by Saranna DeWylde

Loved it! It was great getting an insight of Marchessa's character. After reading book 1 Big Bad Billionaire I couldn't resist this Princess of the Pack Novella. Marchessa isn't the spoiled brat that she portrayed in book 1. Marchessa has a tender, loving and loyal heart. Marchessa has a tough choice to make when it comes to her betrothed Antony.
Princess of the Pack is hot, sexy and action packed! Great story!
Antony Remmulus is Pack leader and Prince of the wolves. I loved his character and his strength. You will enjoy his battle with Luc Ardennes and the outcome. The war has begun.

I give Princess of the Pack 4 stars for its entertaining Novella.
I would recommend this story to Adults.

I rather enjoyed this book more than the first book of the series. Marchessa was definitely the better heroine than Randi. One because she was truly an independent woman who had a decisive mind. Even faced to 2 possible mates, she made decisions sensibly and responsively. It was pretty sad for me to see her choosing between 2 different yet perfect males. Although I kinda guessed about their identities, I actually thought that she deserved to have them both. Antony was a real sweetheart and a matured wise man. I enjoyed their chemistry much more than that of Randi and Blake.

Recommend to be read as part of the series. Not truly stand-alone because some supportive characters were heavily involved and might be introduced or exited the series.

*** 3.5 Cranky Stars ***

This is the second book I've read by Saranna DeWylde. We first met Marchesa, our main female lead, in Big Bad Billionaire. It was quite an introduction.

This novella fills in the backstory of what happens to Marchesa after she's sent into an arranged marriage with Anthony, an extremely powerful wolf, to secure the survival of her pack who have long been at war with the Woolvens.

An alpha female wolf: strong, powerful, but held down by fear, Marchesa is hesitant about the marriage. To complicate matters, her marriage is not only arranged, but unorthodox. She is asked to make decisions based on her head or her heart.

As war breaks out around them, Marchesa and Anthony discover new facets about one another. Secrets are revealed, sides are drawn, and new players enter the scene.

Although I enjoyed this work and will read future books in the series, this one fell a little flat. I didn't really connect with the big decision Marchesa had to make and thought it distracted from the other plot lines. Also, some information was repeated from Big Bad Billionaire and I understand why it was necessary, but in a novella I thought it was a wasted opportunity.

I have to say, I enjoy DeWylde's depiction of strong women in her work and their male counterparts who encourage this strength, rather than wanting to crush it. DeWylde is at her best with love and battle scenes, world building and dropping lore into her works.

I look forward to reading more in the series and hope there's further extension into these packs as well as the Woolvern.

Highly recommend this book, I can't say enough about it. Characters are diverse, well developed, and believable. The story is original, and well written. It held my attention from beginning to end, and even then I didn't want it to be over.

This continuation of the Woolven series was everything I hoping for and more. Mesmerizingly hot, passionate and I can see all of the storyline in my mind's eye as it unfolds. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!!!!

Marchessa is sold to be mate to another pack's leader. She doesn't want to become a rogue wolf but she also doesn't want the responsibilities of a pack leader. What's a girl to do, especially when she's attracted to not only her soon-to-be mate, but also his right-hand man?

boring

The writing isn’t terrible but I found this book a drag. The main character is too wishy washy. Make up your mind already. I couldn’t read past chapter 6, too dull and all characters are one dimensional.

When I started to read this book I Really did not like the main girl but she slowly grew and I started to enjoy her and the writing style of this author.

It was fast paced, action packed with lots of great detailed scenes that convinced me this was worth my time to read. It has really smooth transition from one scene to the next.

Very nice detail and what sex there is in the book is not over the top or written in a way to throw you off from the main story plot. I have to say this is a nice change from other books I have read.

I didn't expect to like Marchessa at all. My feelings about her were that she was a spoiled character who had been pampered all of her life. Boy was I wrong! She is an amazing character with uncharted depths that keep you spellbound throughout the story. She's completely fascinating and the situation she finds herself in is mind blowing. The mystery of Cassius and Antony was exciting and wonderful and terrible all wrapped up into one. You can feel the anguish and the pain that they feel through this struggle. I really love how this series is rounding out and can't wait for more.

This is part 1.5 of A Woolven Secret series by author Saranna DeWylde.

Marchessa de la Luna is in an arranged marriage and the price is a gold mine to her pack from billionaire Antony Rommulus. After a night of passion with rogue Cassius she must decide what she wants, wealth and money with Antony or passion with Cassius even though they told her can have both Antony and Cassius. What is a girl to do.

Loved the book and the audio.

OMG this was a great book and lays the ground work for so many more. I didn't like the main character from the original story but now I love her after getting to know her better. She's a champion and a fighter and she's just misunderstood like me. Can't wait for more.

Kept me engaged, but was all too predictable

The story was better in the last 20 pages, the first half was way too predictable. It is very light reading

Who knew Marchessa was such a warrior?! This book threw me for a loop and had me wishing it was a longer book. I hope to see more of her and the handsome Antony again.
