Raife is a science fiction fantasy romance in which Sophie is in the wrong place, at the wrong time and ends up on the alien world of Aquadomina. Can she learn fast enough what it means to be The Chosen or will she go down as the worst Chosen in history?
Sophie has dedicated her life to children. First as a teacher and then as a nanny. When she agrees to help out a friend and cover a trip to the Bahamas she never expected to end up shot and floating in the Atlantic Ocean. She really didn't expect to get pulled through a wormhole and end up as "The Chosen" of a strange alien world. Now as the most powerful person on the alien world, Sophie is faced with wanting to help the people of Aquadomina. The only problem is that isn't sure that she can stay alive long enough to accomplish her goals. As the intrigue and danger around her builds, Sophie struggles to find someone to trust. As alien as Raife may seem to her, she is going to need help to implement her plans for change and he is perfect for the job. The closer she gets to the Commander though, the more Sophie realizes that secrets run deep in the waters of Aquadomina. Her budding romance with the Raife may have put her in grave danger.
Raife is the Commander of the Protectorate, the elite guard assigned to protect The Chosen. They have been trained to expect a bossy, demanding, unreasonable shrew...so imagine their surprise that the new Chosen is none of those things. Sophie is intelligent, resourceful, independent and kindhearted. All of which could get her killed. Raife knows of the intrigues around the new Chosen and struggles to earn her trust before it is too late. As alien as everything is to Sophie, can she adapt fast enough or will Aquadomina slide back into the ways of the old Chosen? Raife is racing against time to find a way to save Sophie and help the people of Aquadomina. He never expected romantic feelings to get in the way of doing his duty. Now there is even more at stake. He needs to prove to Sophie that his feelings for her are genuine...before all of his secrets are revealed.
This is the first science fiction and fantasy romance novel under the Aquadomina series written by Stormy McKnight.
I wish I could make this part more interesting for you. I would love to say that I am a highly decorated author with loads of accolades to my name. I wish it were so...but unfortunately, it is not true...Yet. I am holding out hope that this will change soon.
In reality, I am just a regular person. I have been working at one job or another since I was sixteen. I am not ashamed to say that is thirty years of 9 to 5 and sometimes 6 to 6. Whatever it took to get the job done. Then about a year ago, I was teaching technology at the grade school level when my teenage daughter self-published a book. I was fascinated with the process. Empowered by seeing her dream come true, I decided to give it a try. I am a huge fan of Romance novels and had even tried writing in the past but had no idea where to go with my ideas. With my daughter's encouragement, I finally got my first book ready and self-published.
Did the whole process change me? Not really. I still get up and put my pants on one leg at a time. I still work hard and take what life hands me. The only difference now is that I have a deeper appreciation for all the hard work self-publishing takes. Being in front of the computer, writing my stories, is still my escape. I hope in some small way, that my stories are entertaining and an escape for the reader as well.

I want to thank you for taking the time to read my author bio. I hope that if you liked my stories that you can leave a kind review.
As soon as I saw that Stormy McKnight has a new book I stopped all my reading and went for the new series: Raife, first book from the new series Aquadomina didn't disappoint me in the imagination level.
Sophie, a 45 year old nanny with bad joints and a failed marriage in her past finds herself thrown overboard by her employer when she found out that he wanted to use her as a middle woman to smuggle illegal drugs. Wile waiting to die and being in Bermuda triangle Sophie realizes that the water is warmer and full of lights. She blacks out and when she wakes up she finds herself on a different planet surrounded by humanoid beings and some medical alterations were done to her. Sophie is "The Chosen" and there are a lot of changes that she must adjust to: she is the ruler of 3 kingdoms, has a Chosen Consort and the alterations done to her left her looking younger and feeling better than ever.
Raife is the Commander of the Chosen's guards and takes his job very serious. He was forced as the rest of the guards to serve Aquadomina and now The Chosen and he has his personal mission wile doing his job.
Sophie discovers that her new world is full of political intrigues, pain and injustice but beautiful at the same time. Wile looking for ways to understands what is happening around her and adjust Sophie falls in love with Raife.
Raife didn't plan to become the Chosen's consort but in the end, there was no choice, he fell in love.
The story is so complex and there are so many aspects that it's impossible to sum them up in a review. I will however try to put together the things that I loved or not as brief as possible.
What I liked the most: - Stormy McKnight has a great imagination and the world of Aquadomina is amazing, unique - there are so many details that made a great picture of the place, plants, buildings
But: I think Stormy McKnight wanted to add so many details to such a short story that the character build was lost in the process. I was unable to relate, understand and feel Sophie and Raife. I have read chapters centered on Sophie's daily activities and her need to know people that I didn't get her attraction for Raife or the other way around. When they came together after a poker game it didn't feel as the pinnacle of a built relationship. The next day memory lane killed it for me when I had to go back in time when the two lovers were not connected. It was weird. The way the conflict was resolved so fast without issues screamed: more. In the end I did not get a clear picture of how the characters looked (all of them) and that again took out the enjoyment.
The story is a great one, with all my complaining, because it's new, fresh, different, I just wish for a different delivery.
I have a feeling that in time Stormy McNight will find her way with plots and characters translated from her amazing imagination.
Sadly, all the details bogged down the story in the beginning. I didn't connect with the main characters or their sudden affair. The 'bad' characters had dialogue that made them silly. There are typos as well.
I feel this would have been better with more character development and less world building for the length of the story. Or a longer story to even out the pace.
I thought I was reading a story about an airhead teenager and not a middle aged woman like it's supposed to be. Every detail was all about the vanity of the main character Sophie. "OMG, I have a huge bathroom. I have gorgeous lingerie. I have my own personal servants. I'm no longer fat, but I'm curvy and everyone thinks I'm fabulous. *giggle, giggle, giggle*,". was how the first five or six chapters read before I gave up Whatever the main theme of this story was supposed to be, it was too bogged down with trivial, immature dialogue and character observations.
I'm intrigued by this story. I've enjoyed Ms McKnight's other series. The characters are multidimensional and are funny. However, with that said, I would like to beg the author for some decent character descriptions. I've finished this book and I truly have no idea, whatsoever, of any of their looks. None.
Good story, but some fleshing out of scenes would be greatly appreciated.
I fell in love with Stormy McKnight's Terraneu Series and continue to become a huge fan of her other writings. Her books are captivating and she has bewitched me with her unique stories. Raife is an amazing read and I can't wait to read more of her Aquadomina Series!
Thank you Ms. McKnight for following your dreams and becoming a self-published author...after reading your bio, I feel I must thank your daughter too!
This is an original storyline with believable characters. I loved the interactions and the concept of female rule. I would definitely recommend this book to read it was entertaining.
The new story is interesting, has good structure, and good characters. It was nice to read about the main female because I can relate to her as she is my age. I can't wait for Maris, it is going to be good.
T his was very good. I thought it would have been similar to the others but I must say it was a pleasant surprise. Very good book, I commend the author
I am a fan. Ms McKnight writes smart, action filled, romantic stories that have relatable substance.. I highly recommend. Looking forward to reading Meric's story.
