On Your Knees
ON YOUR KNEES IS BACK.
Newly expanded. Full-length. More Bella. More Elijah. More sin.
He was supposed to save my soul.
Instead, he became my favorite sin.
I’ve spent eighteen years being the perfect daughter—obedient, sheltered, and exactly who everyone expects me to be.
Then Father Elijah looks at me differently.
He’s fifty-two. A priest. A man I’ve known for years. And the one man I was never supposed to want.
But wanting him is only the beginning.
Every forbidden touch makes it harder to return to the good girl I used to be. Elijah awakens desires I was taught to fear, questions I was never supposed to ask, and a version of myself I’m only beginning to discover.
What we’re doing could cost him everything.
But walking away might cost me something even greater.
Because once you finally taste freedom, obedience starts to feel a lot like a cage.
On Your Knees is a dark, taboo age-gap romance between two consenting adults featuring a priest, a sheltered heroine, forbidden desire, a consensual Daddy/little girl kink, explicit sexual content, religious themes, and dark family circumstances. Please check content warnings before reading.

Rec'vd an advance copy.
Good, entertaining story with forbidden love, affair, threats, desire, age gap, consequences, murder, hidden truths, control, punishment, freedom, strength, abuse. It's well written and hard to put down cuz you just gotta know what's next. tThis book, may not be for everyone due to the taboo love but the heart wants what the heart wants and is enjoyable. Check your triggers because mental health is most important.

2.5 ⭐️
I do love a good age-gap romance, and this one definitely has a HUGE one. If you’re not into a very large gap or forbidden romance, this probably isn’t gonna be for you.
Small town priest falls for young woman who just officially turned 18. I do think Bella walking in and seeing what she saw between Elijah and her mom, and everything that happened right afterwards, was kind of weird. I probably would have gone about that whole situation differently, or at least liked to see it play out a different way.
I love really dark, taboo romance and was hoping this was going to be that type of story. It felt like those elements were all kind of thrown together at the end.
I also would have liked more backstory on the relationship between Elijah and Bella’s mom, and more about Bella’s childhood. At first, it seemed like her mom was just really strict about how Bella portrayed herself in public, but it ended up being a whole lot more than that. I think having more of that background would have made some of those parts make more sense.

Check your trigger warnings before reading, this is a dark, taboo, age gap story with religious themes and a big power dynamic. This book was a whirlwind to say the least, a solid 3 level spice in my opinion. The author did an excellent job at exploring religious trauma, I just wish our 18yo heroine was able to free herself from the shackles of her mother without the help of a man but I still enjoyed the story nonetheless. Was interesting to read a story where although the relationship was taboo (52yo priest & 18yo heroine) the lack of disapproval from her friends & the general public shocked me, it seemed more like an internal battle both our mcs rather then everyone else. I wish we got to see more of Lindsey & Bellas friendship and maybe learn about her father a little more, but was a good read! I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving my honest review.

Definitely taboo and she was absolutely groomed despite Elijah’s explanations to himself and her. But wow was her mother the character that took the story away and upwards (is that a heavenly pun?). I didn’t care for the writing no that it was bad but the formatting was every sentence getting a new paragraph and usually just being less than 5 words long which was not a great experience but maybe if it was an audiobook and you didn’t know it would be fine. But I had a written copy. The author really explored religious trauma pretty damn well though and I did enjoy it much more than I thought i would initially!! At the end of the day a book you can’t put down is a solid book. And I couldn’t put this down.

Trigger Warnings: Age gap (52M / 18F), taboo/religious themes, power dynamics.
If you loved Priest by Sierra Simone, add this one to your TBR immediately. It delivers on every front:
The Dynamic: High-stakes taboo featuring a 52-year-old priest and a heroine who just turned 18.
The Heat: A heavy 4-pepper spice level that does not hold back on the angst, temptation, and guilt.
The Vibe: Dark, intense, and deeply atmospheric for readers who crave forbidden romance.

On Your Knees by Tristina Brockway is a dark, addictive read with intense chemistry and plenty of heat. The spice is bold and unapologetic, but it also adds to the emotional tension and connection between the characters rather than feeling unnecessary. If you enjoy edgy romance, possessive energy, and a story that keeps you turning pages, this one is a must-read. 5 stars! I got this book as an ARC for free on booksirens. I’d look at the trigger warnings though.

While I enjoy a morally grey trope, especially ones involving someone of the cloth, this particular story was fairly safe. The saving Grace for me was the emphasis on choice. I loved that about this book. This is my first read by this author. Their writing intrigued me enough to look and read more of their work.
