Fun look back at some of the greatest moments from the Super Bowl. There were some neat stories and perspectives in here that I had not heard before, and for the most part, I think the rankings are decent. The writing is not very sharp, even sloppy at points, but you're probably not reading the book for its literary value.
The one indefensible omission from the list of 50 greatest moments is Don Beebe's strip of Leon Lett in Super Bowl 27. Yes, it was in a losing effort, but Beebe's hustle and determination were incredibly memorable (and they included other moments from losing teams). I have no doubt that Beebe's strip is etched in the minds of anyone who saw it, much more so than many other moments on in the book.
Certainly only for football insiders with a good memory (lest you be stuck reading a book with a litany of names and moments that without context don't pop off the page), some nice recollections (49ers) and well told tales.
This book was about the best super bowl moments in history ranking for 50-1. This was really about explaining and teaching the reader what happens in a moment like that because it's just instincts. What happen in the book wasn't about who won or lost it was about the men made them win or lose. When I was reading this book I think it helped me in my football games and how I play. Reading this help me stop thinking in games and just play like the NFL players did in these big moments of the greatest game in the world. Something else I learned about the game of football by reading this book is that you never give up, this is important because let’s say you're down by 14 points in the state football game you can’t just give up at halftime you to keep going and come out and play with pride. I really loved every minute of this book. I recommend that everyone and anyone who loves football to read this book. Even if you don't love football maybe you could learn more about the game from this book.
I enjoyed the vivid descriptions and entertaining insight into the top fifty moments in SB history presented by the greatest receiver ever. The greatest receiver ever not only provided the reader with relevant statistics but even some I especially remember the analysis for moment #7 which I say is like a moment the modern football world can never forget. It was interesting to read the greatest receiver's take on it. But everyone knows Seattle should have ran the ball.
I purchased this book for my son who is obsessed with football. He says it is an awesome book with a lot of facts and stats surrounding specific Super Bowl plays.
