Craving Trix

Rate this book
Bellatrix White had loved Cameron Harrison for as long as she could remember. He was her best friend and her closest confidant, and she knew one day he’d be her forever.

Then he broke her heart.

After five years of complete silence between them, the motorcycle club they grew up in comes under attack, giving Cam the opportunity he needs to work his way back into Trix’s life.

Spoilers!!!

 photo 15705144_zpsbsx36te5.gif

OMG I fucking hate this book. WTF? I hate everything about this book. Everything!!! I fucking Hated Trix. What a childish, selfish, bitch. I wanted to slap the shit outta her. She ruined her and Cam's relationship for me and I was so done with her baby ass bullshit drama. She made Poet look good. I so wanted Cam to leave her and move on with someone else. She was worthless. I Hate her so much!! Then the What the fuck was the point of it. It didn't even make me sad it just pissed me off, and felt like an over-dramatic ploy to make the story more deep and it failed. It just made me hate the book that much more. Their relationship was a crock anyways. She just walked around having fits and saying "I'm an adult" while acting like she is two. Picking fights with Cam for the hell of it , oh and lets not forget she has her daddy break up with him for her. Trix was never there when Cam was hurting and needed her. At one point she thinks of how it makes her happy not to be there for him when she knew Cam was mourning because it made her feel like she was getting even with him because he made her mad a few days before. OMG I FUCKING HATE TRIX!!!!!!! Then they are a part way more then they are together. Damn I wish I never read this book, wish I could unread it. Whatever I am so over it!

11/7//15:

Okay. So this is my SECOND time reading this.

I know what you are thinking...but you rated it 1 star! And one of the most violently shiteous 1 stars at that.

So a re-read...?

description

Why???

Well, lemme 'splain...

*
*
*

I have no idea, actually.

But SOMETHING prompted me to try read this again.

If you have ever read my original review for this (which I kept down below) there is one singular event that occurs in this book that changes the landscape of this entire series.

And I loathed it.

At the time of my first read, I felt that this event was completely unnecessary, and so startling that I spent the remainder of the book asking this:

description

And feeling like the non-Supermaner in this scenario:

description

So this time, I came into this read armed with that knowledge and prepared to overlook both it and my own...grievances.

description

And my final verdict?

description

Yeah, I know.

description

In fact, as much as I loathed it the first time?

I loved it just as much this time.

Ca-razy, I know.

I still didn't love Trix still, not gonna lie; but I had more appreciation for where she was coming from this time.

And I just plain LOVED Cameron.

And the "incident" that ruined it?

description

Yes, yes, I know.

Come at me, bro.

description

So now that I would give this thing almost 5 stars, I figure the fairest thing to do is meet in the middle between that and my initial reaction rating of 1 star...and call it even at 3 star...

description

But that's what I'm gonna do.

In my opinion - and as dumb as it sounds - books are like living things in the heart and mind of every reader...

And living things can change.

description

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

11/6/15: Gonna try re-reading this again, now that I am prepared for and recovered from the awful that occurs...

Original Review

0 Series Altering - Pretend This Book Doesn't EXIST Stars

Me after finishing this book:

description

For serious though, I don't even know what to say.

description

Events took place here that I felt were tragically sad and just completely unnecessary.

In the acknowledgments at the end, Jacquelyn states:

"Blogger and Readers: This story is for really for you...When I ended Casper and Farrah's epilogue so far in the future, I thought I'd give a glimpse of everyone, healthy and happy, and that would be the end of the Aces. But you wouldn't let me get away with that - you wanted to see those babies I'd written turn into adults...and I'm really, really, glad you did."

Well I'm not fucking glad.

In fact, if I had a choice - knowing what I know now - I would have rather remained in my happy HEA and never read this book, quite frankly.

Because instead of seeing everyone "happy and healthy," I am now left with visions of everyone not so happy and not so healthy.

description

I'm trying to avoid massive spoilers here, but let's just say that Jacquelyn apparently decided to take a page out of the "Susan Fanetti MC Club Romance Manual" and completely fucked up my happy.

Or put in my own diplomatic fashion...

*
*
*
*
*

description

Now, it would be one thing if just the events of the story pissed me off - especially the one major event that I am trying to avoid discussing like the proverbial elephant in the room...

...but add in some asinine characters decisions (on behalf of Trix, who I seriously wanted to smack across the face most of the time) and a disjointed story line and color me even more not so happy.

In fact, I'm so annoyed and perplexed by the turn of events in this book, that I'm going to pretend that it just doesn't exist.

description

And after spending the last book in the series wanting to fucking kill one of the main characters (the douche canoe Poet), I think perhaps I'll just take a time out from this series and author in general.

description

And I think I'll stop here, because I have nothing else to say but mindless ranting about spoilers I said I wouldn't mention.

*sigh*

There's really something about Nicole Jacqueline's writing that draw me in. She does fantastic dialogue and her characters are fascinating if not flawed and broken. Which is why I decided to give this book a chance even though I hated Poet's book. Hands down, this author can definitely deliver a compelling story. This series continues the story about the Aces MC but this time, it's the kids' turn.

Now I'm down with the kids getting their turn but Trix and Cam's story was disappointing to me. The conflict was contrived. Both MCs spent better part of the book fighting and flouncing and fighting and flouncing again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

At first, I felt some sympathy for Trix because I understood her need to assert her independence. But then she keeps going back and forth on her decisions, which created a lot of drama between her and Cam. And when I say drama, I mean DRAMA!!

Like I said, I just wasn't crazy about the conflict between the two of them. It felt contrived. Cam wasn't any better to be honest. He's domineering and acted like an asshole the whole time. He's whiny too. Every time Trix ignores him, he whines how she's not giving him enough attention. Both of them needed a good smack in the head. They were a mess. Both of them. The only positive I could see was that the sex between them was hot. But other than that, I didn't care much about their relationship or their character development.

Then there's that whole "this is gritty MC so just 'cause." Look, I'm not upset the author chose to go this route if the story calls for it. But the conflict that led to it was WEAK!!I can't even...I sat there stunned at what happened because the club wasn't involved in anything that would warrant a There was no build up to the conflict at all. It came off disjointed and just plain confusing.

It was a nightmare for me as a reader. There was no reason or justification for that event to happen. It felt petty and gratuitous. Yes, I understand this is about a motorcycle club but for chrissake, at least make the conflict believable. Overall, I just didn't buy the conflict, nor the romance. It was weak and lacked build up.

Finally, after years, gave this one a go. I was very nervous because of the reviews, but I have to say that it was better than I expected. Maybe that's because I went into this one without any expectations and also knowing what was gonna happen...

Was I upset about the major event in this one...yes I was, but I was also prepared for it and I accepted that this was the way it was gonna be. Not happy about it, but I am not gonna dwell on it either. I am very sorry about Mick though... I really liked him :(

I also don't think that Trix was the only annoying one in this book...Cam really annoyed the crap out of me as well. I get that Trix was very wishy-washy and whiny at times but Cam was rude and a very big mouth on him. Maybe he should also learn to think before he speaks...

All in all this wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be and so I am ready for the next one in this series ;)

Full review to come... someday.. :P

“I know I should say somethin’ good…somethin that you can remember later. But, fuck, Bea. I’m just so happy right now, can’t think of nothin’ to say.”

“That sounded good enough to me.”
“Kiss me.”

Nicole Jacquelyn writes some of THE best MC books we’ve read, she never shies away from delivering the hard blows invariably making her fictional MC world a gripping, raw and addictive place to be. Her stories present the rough with the smooth, the ugly with the beautiful and we can’t help but devour her books time and time again. We especially love her heroines. They’re feisty, loveable and admirable and together with her menacing biker men who live hard and love harder we’ve been won over by her Biker books time and again.

‘Possessiveness didn’t bother me. In our world, it was a sign of love, no matter how outsiders chose to perceive it.’

When we heard about this book, we were over the moon! After all, we’d witnessed Cameron and Trix growing up and couldn’t wait to devour their love story and spend more time with the Aces originals as well!

‘She was mine. She’d always been mine.'

So it pains us to say Craving Trix didn’t entirely work for us. It really was a case of some things worked, some things didn’t. What absolutely worked was Cam’s character! We knew all along Cameron was going to steal our hearts. This young man had lived through the most horrific trauma as a little boy and we grieved with him, all the time waiting for the day Cameron would grow into a man who showed loved, and was loved and wow Cameron didn’t disappoint!. Oh yes he could be a little overbearing at times, but…. what a heart!

“What are we doing here, Cam?”
“Well, I was tryin’ to kiss ya. Not sure what you’re doing’.”
“Do you want…are we together?” “Is this a thing?”
“A thing?”
I asked incredulously, trying to figure out what she was getting at. We weren’t a thing…we were us.

We both adored Trix as a little girl, sadly as a woman we found her quite unlikeable at times. Whilst we acknowledged she was dealing with some deep rooted issues, we didn’t feel they warranted her extreme attitude towards Cam, especially considering what he himself was having to deal with. In that respect, Trix came across as self absorbed and sadly their love story didn’t give us the intense emotional feelings we were anticipating.

“I’m jealous.”
“Good.”
“I don’t know how to not be jealous. I just…this feels like it came out of nowhere, and I’m….”
“Mighta came outta nowhere for you…but it feels like I’ve been waitin’ forever.”

The drama that unfolded didn’t sit well with us on the whole. In fact, what played out somewhat changed the landscape of the existing Aces Series and we feel kind of sad about that. Yes, we understand that drama needed to be introduced in order for the story to play out as it did, however what occurred felt unnecessary, with the reasoning behind it implausible and coming out of left field.

Cam’s character was definitely a highlight! He completely had our hearts and our empathy. As if he hadn’t suffered enough in his young life….to go through what he did….and still muster the strength he did whilst falling apart on the inside…he damn near broke our hearts AGAIN! What a man he’s grown up to be! So loyal, loving and yeah…a completely possessive yummy alpha to boot.

“You’re okay, I’ve got you, I’ve got you.”

Nicole Jacquelyn writes some of the best intimate scenes we’ve read and in that respect, she delivered again in Trix, conveying the desire and need between Trix and Cam. We couldn’t help but feel the passion between these two in that regard.

We relished catching up with Aces from previous books, with the father/daughter relationship between Dragon and Trix, his ‘Little Warrior' warming our hearts to the ninth degree – Dragon really did shine in this story and that along with other aspects of the story did work for us…..just not everything.

“You did good, baby girl. I know it hurts, Little Warrior, but you did real good.”

So, I don't quite know what to say! See, I love Nicole Jacquelyn's writing .... I even loved Poet's book and I know a lot didn't. But this one not so much. Let's start by listing what I liked:

1. Cameron. that's about it.

What I didn't like - geez, pull up a seat!

1. Trix. selfish, self absorbed, whiny, childish, spiteful, frustrating and downright hateful. Yeah, I did NOT like her, not even a little bit.
2. The plot - hate that when it's put in for the sake of it.
3. Killing off characters from previous books. No! No, no, no, NO!! IMO this was done gratuitously and had no point, it didn't drive the story forward and just plain sucked.
4. Push and pull, pull and push. FML that drove me nutzo. I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room, then go fetch it and throw it again. Trix irritated the snot out of me with her relentless and constant pushing away from Cameron. ARGH!!!
5. The story went round and round in circles without really getting anywhere.
6. That ending??? It just seemed to end in the middle of a paragraph in the middle of the epilogue, and then there was nothing.

Sadly this didn't work for me, at all.

To the author; I wish to convey how much I loved the new storyline of The Aces' Sons. Seeing the children grow up and slowly fill the roles was amazing. So while I go off on a spiel and rant and rave about a few of the characters, don't pay me any mind. Loved it through and through, wouldn't change this five star favorite read!

i have been sitting on this review all day but nope, still not a fan of this book. 2.5 stars maybe and that's rounding up. i had such high hopes for this one. i absolutely love this series and the author is one of my faves but so much just pissed me off throughout. it felt like drama for the sake of drama and the leadup to said drama was weak and not even delved into. don't even get me started on trix, our heroine.. she was immature to say the least. i usually reread this series at times but don't think i will be doing so with this one. shame, as i was so excited to finally get cam/trix.

Okay! Soooo... my end thoughts are short.

Yes, I enjoyed this. I couldn't put it down. It was intense and kept me invested and I love this MC world. That said, I don't think Trix and Cam are good together. I didn't feel or believe their love. IMO, they hated each other more than they loved each other. It had no chemistry. It was just eh!

Also, "the scene"... really not sure what to think! I'm just... idk! I'm super bothered by it. Super bothered.

Overall... it was good because I'm invested in the Aces MC World and I lovvveeeeeeee reading about these characters, but I'm oddly disappointed with Trix. I think Cam deserves more. And I wish the twist had made more sense. It just felt crazy.

Nicole, Nicole, Nicole ... you sure can write them, can't you? Talk about CRAVING NICOLE'S BOOKS ... Cheesus, you know how to slay 'em.

Okay, real talk ... Craving Trix. Yep ... just that ... exactly that. I craved her, craved Cam, craved more, craved lots more and now that I'm done, I'm craving all things Aces. Not only did you give me such an amazing, off the wall, unexpected relationship, you gave me things from the past. You'll get to catch up with some of your favorite bikers, and then realize ... holy hell, their kids are almost hotter than the papas. Okay, not sure anyone will be able to take the love I have for Grease away, but Cam ... yep ... he's a keeper.

Have some tissues ready for this book. And some wine. And some chocolate. I'm starting to wonder if Nicole's master plan with this book is to shock the system, break you beyond all recognition, then slowly, yet carefully, put you back together again.

If you loved any of the other Craving books, Craving Trix will be no different. And get ready to start harassing Nicole for the next in the series, which I'm really hoping is Will, because ... WILL!!!!

Thanks Nicole for another epic book that I'll be re-reading when I fall into a slump, just like I do with your other books.

I enjoyed the book, especially since we saw more of the MCs of the previous books but I think I expected something... more. Don't ask me what, I don't even know myself. Maybe I had set the bar too high? Who knows?

I can't not mention it but why did you do this to us, Nicole? I bawled my eyes out! I won't spoil anything but let me just tell you one thing. Have the tissues ready!

Review by Natasha Gentile

Trix was the daughter from Craving Consolation. I have to say I was super excited to see how she would grow up and who her man would be.

Bellatrix White had loved Cameron Harrison for as long as she could remember.

Trix and Cameron were best friends growing up in the Ace Bike Club. Cameron considered Trix his little sister, well he did till one day when push came to shove and he realized this little girl grew up and he wanted her.

I’d never looked at Trix in a sexual way. She was my little Bea. My other half. When we were kids, she’d been best buds with my little brother, Curtis, and after he died in the fire that killed my family, she’d somehow switched her affections to me. I didn’t know if it was because she missed Curt or she had no one to play with, but she’d followed me around and I hadn’t had the heart to make her leave me alone. She’d been so sweet, with her long dark hair and big brown eyes-I hadn’t stood a chance.
She was mine.
She’s always been mine.

Cameron knows that she is his, but he steps back and watches as she grows from the seventeen year old untouchable girl to the twenty-two year old soon to be college graduate. Club trouble has Cameron moving in with her to take care of her. The fireworks start as soon as she mouths off to him. This is Trix; she isn’t going to let some man take that from her.

“I don’t know how to not be jealous. I just-this feels like it came out of nowhere, and I’m-“
“Mighta came outta nowhere for you-but it feels like I’ve been waiting’ forever.”

Growing up in the club means you see how the men act; you also see things you should never see.

While their relationship develops, with a few bumps here and there, you can't help but feel the love they had for each other. But there are many times that you just want to shake both of them and make them wake up.

They fall into a relationship easily, but when new tragedies mix with old memories, neither of the lovers are prepared for the fallout.

I have to say that the way Trix handled herself during the book I wanted nothing more than to have Cam walk away, but then I realized what she was going through. It was a sad thing all the way around. It was wonderful to see her grow up and mature. Great read!

Four Stars For Trix And Cam

This is the first of hopefully many "Ace's sons" books to come! I absolutely love that this series is continuing on in a way with the children. It keeps everything fresh but still has the old feels of our favorite prior characters.
Bellatrix is the daughter of Dragon and Brenna while Cameron is the original son of the killed member who went crazy. After that he was adopted by Farrah and Casper. From a young age Trix followed Cam around the compound just wanting to be around her favorite person. Cam is six years old than Trix so there was never anything but a friendship for a long time even though Trix realizes she wants more far sooner than Cam. Slightly following the paths of both Brenna and Farrah their story contains similar twists and turns.
This book was great to me. It kept me interested although the falling of certain members almost made me cry I know that everyone cannot live forever. I am excited to read will's book.

I really liked some parts- and even had a lot of laugh out loud parts. Like the whole breakfast-egg part. However- why didn't the author name the kids? Even in book three we don't know this couples childrens names. What's up with that? And- the whole breakup thing- I think it should have been done way better. Still, I liked the story line more than books 2-3, so hence the 3 star rating.

I really didn't expect to like this book in the series as much as the previous books but I loved it. I don't usually like reading about the second generation or younger couples in a series but again, I loved it. I have been hooked on this series since the first book when Trix was introduced as a child. Cameron and Trix's love story is not an easy one and I have to say I shed tears as I read it. Cameron is so deeply in love with her and tries his best to stand by her as she suffers flashbacks from her younger life. I did get very frustrated with Trix at times and felt that she was really being immature or selfish, but it all came together in the end. The ending was kind of abrupt and I would have preferred that the epilogue had been centered around Cameron and Trix. Overall, a definite 5 star read for me and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Bellatrix annoyed me for most of this book. She couldn't make up her mind what she wanted.

But I loved Cam

I loved this series ever since book one it has been a re-read for me with the exception of book 3 which was really hard for me to read even though it was written so well and had me hooked it broke my heart and yes we get an amazing ending I'm still pitiful enough to not be able to take all that we were given in book three and handle it well, and yet I still couldn't not finish it. When I saw this book I was really, really, really, excited and a little scared but loving Ms. Jacquelyn as much as I do I couldn't resist. And all I can say is she blew me away with this book.

This book starts really nice, I love backgrounds like we are given in this book, and I loved seeing their past. Add to that who this couple was and I was over the moon reading this book I was hooked and it was just flowing for me. But as I was reading I was wondering if the conflict that starts the book was the conflict of the book, and this wasn't even a bad thought because I was loving it so much. Then Nicole Jacquelyn started throwing more at us and I was riveted to my kindle and I started getting more nervous, and then this brilliant author who has created an amazing world I love and characters I adore and feel like I know after so much time getting to know them, yes this amazing author drops a bomb and made me freeze. I literally had to stop, catch my breathe and re-read what happens because I was sure I had lost my mind for a brief few moments and misread what I read. I was shocked and in tears and bawling like a baby. And yet through it all I couldn't get enough I couldn't stop and stayed up till 2:30am to finish this book that would not let me go.

I can't image how Nicole can come up with this but she is brilliant she amazes me at every turn and then amazes me again. Cam was an awesome hero he loved Trix since he first met her and as he grew so did his love for her. But what I loved most about Cam besides his love for Trix was his character he knew who he was and he was going to stay true to who he was even when something was thrown his way it didn't turn him into someone else or make him make stupid decision that wasn't him he was Cam and he was a Cam who quickly stole my heart. Trix was amazing she had a lot to deal with and yes she said things in fear but when you get the whole story you get it and her. She was strong even in her weakness, and I loved her. We also get amazing follow ups to everyone from this series that we already loved. The only thing that could have made this book any better was if the epilogue had been a little longer (but if you know me I always say that). I can't wait for the next book in this series, it can't come fast enough, I so wanted to read the sneak peak she so kindly or so cruelly, depending on how you look at it :) gave us. I actually read a page and made myself stop because that is something I can't handle when I know I will have only a few pages and then have to wait.

Normally I would give a summary of this book but I'm scared to start because I'm not sure I will be able to stop I like this book so much I may just sit here and tell you everything because I liked it so much, I couldn't even start a book today because what can follow after this and stand on its own? I can't recommend this book enough. Read it, it has everything you could want in a book you will laugh you will smile with glee, and you will cry you little eyes out. I actually woke up with swollen eyes from crying and while I admit I am a little dramatic that still says something to me. Nicole Jacquelyn has cemented herself in my must read auto buy/read very tiny author list, in short if she writes it I will read it. I can't wait for the next book and the ones to follow this is one series that hasn't slowed or wavered because its written by a brilliant author.

Whether you are a fan of MC stories or not, there is something appealing about the stories Jacquelyn tells. There is such a strong sense of family, loyalty and unconditional love in all her books. And she does it without any truly graphic brutality or gross amounts of whoring.

I'm not saying the Aces' MC is full of clean cut virgins or that they never experience violence. I am saying Jacquelyn tells the story without the need of keeping a vomit bucket next to you the entire time you read it. You'll feel, you'll hate some characters at times, you'll want to punch them, hug them, love them....but you probably won't ever want to stab them in the dick. You know?

Bellatrix was there at the beginning of the Aces' MC, it seems only fitting that she starts the spin off series. I loved her as a little kid, but she's grown into such a fierce woman now. She doesn't take shit from anyone, a trait I regard highly. But underneath that hard exterior lies some traumatic situations that were never dealt with and when things in her life bring them out of dormancy, she could lose all the things she's ever wanted in life. You may have moments of hating Trix, but stick it out and it all becomes so understandable and well, sad.

I loved how Trix and Cam interacted. Trix is a handful, constantly pushing the boundaries with Cam. Not because she wants to argue, more because she's so terrified to give up any control over her life. Cam, even when he's furious with her, is always there for her. That's the unconditional love I mentioned earlier, along with the loyalty. He'd never willingly let her fall or fail. He's not perfect, but damn if he's not an absolutely loveable guy.

This is much more than a love story between two people. It's a story of family and suffering, it's tragic and mournful, but heartfelt and sweet too. Craving Trix was a story I easily fell into, I enjoyed it from start to finish and loved the emotions it evoked. It also cements my admiration for Jacquelyn's writing and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

I'm having a hard time rating this book. Honestly, I was looking forward to Cam and Trix's story, mainly because of their rough starts. I want them to win and I want them to win together.

The problem was, I couldn't like Trix. Not. At. All. I of course expected her to be a bit of a tortured soul. I did not expect her to be selfish, thoughtless and cruel. At some points in the book I wanted to punch her in the face. Literally, straight on girl-fight. And even when she started to redeem herself to me a bit (late late late in the book) I couldn't let it go.

I felt like the book was a bit disjointed and parts of it just didn't fit together for me in the life of the MC. The story arc just didn't flow. I felt like we were trying to force it here for the sake of an MC book. I know there had to be some catalyst for change and maybe that was the reasoning behind the story line but for me it didn't work

Maybe I expected a lot from this book because I truly did love it's predecessors or maybe it just wasn't as well written as the others. What ever the case, I didn't really enjoy it as I had hoped I would. I have high hopes for the next books in the "Sons" series because I would like to see how the rest of the family turns out. Undeterred will see what is next for the Aces.

Well that's going to be a no from me. Can't tell you how disappointed I was that brave little Cam from book 3 ended up with the bratty little club princess. Sad. Trix was a spoiled, privileged brat. Can't say I'm surprised given her mom's Brenna and her gramps is Poet. I think we've established how I feel about that family line from book 4 in the first generation series. So I have zero love for those characters and Trix proved it with how she acted. What can I say? She was a bitch and so far the worst FMC I've read this year and that's saying something. Immature. Complained all the time. Tried to hurt Cam purposely. Told him she was aborting his babies. And she said this around women who lost children and had miscarriages. She called them just a clump of cells so what. Whether your pro choice or pro life have some respect around women who've wanted them their whole life only for you to throw that in their faces. I was appalled. Also, Trix was going through some trauma and yelled at Amy the h from book 4 that she could never understand what she went through... Stop right there bitch and let's establish Amy went through so must worse than you'll ever have to go through in your privileged little life of having a lot of money, and being able to go to college. At the same time crying poor me my life's so unfair. Oh Cam. You poor man 🥲. The story wasn't even interesting, but it still really sucked that 4 beloved characters were gunned down. That was a freaking tragedy. 😭

It's not often that I find myself in the position of being drawn to a book's hero more than the heroine.

As a matter of fact, that happens..... almost never.

So, Cameron Harrison is one of the few and the proud.

Maybe it's because he lost so very much, or because even as a child, he was braver than most grown men.

Or perhaps it's because he loved Bea so well and for so long.

We got the pleasure of seeing Cam as a little man--cause he was never a boy, let's be real--and now we get to watch as he tames the Little Warrior. When you've got a Daddy like Dragon, your forever guy has some seriously big shoes to fill--and Cam filled them to overflowing.

This book has several big booms, some of the not-so-pretty variety and some that will make you Tra La La, but it's chock full of the straighforward, moving dialogue Nicole is known for.

Yeah, no. I know Val got over it in her re-read, but she's a bigger person than me.

I FLOVED the books in 'The Aces' series and was over the moon when NJ said she was writing this spin off...

Where do I start..... I have to say that Nicole has this unerring ability to emotionally cripple me with her stories. There is so much emotion, believability and beauty in her writing, regardless of the story (or the events that unfold) I'm hooked pretty much from the get go! Quiet and a large supply of hankies are a must when I sit down to read one of her books.

CRAVING TRIX was a truly fantastic read. We met our girl way back at the beginning of THE ACES series and have watched her grow up, all the while witnessing her love for and attraction to Cameron.
Bellatrix is a feisty, determined, 'take no crap' kinda gal who in the past has gone through and witnessed some really tough times - though as we discover, more than a little of this has been blocked out, mentally boxed up and tucked away.
One absolutely hellish event brings everything spewing out and she has trouble contains and dealing with it all.
It's hard reading about what is really a case of PTSD and seeing the fallout that her memories brings about - it broke my heart to see how fragile and lost Trix seemed to be and how even in the middle of her family how alone she felt.

Cam, oh Cameron.... He's a great guy - by no means perfect, he goes off half cocked at times but it's mostly always with good intentions and, as he sees it, to do his best by Trix - just occasionally I wished he'd think before he (re)acted or opened his big bloody mouth - but when it comes down to it he has a big heart and is a good man who cares deeply for his family (blood and otherwise) and those he cares about.

This pair love each other so very much, but given all that is thrown at them, is that gonna be enough?!?!
Regardless of the fact that they seem made for each other, does that really mean that they can actually have a life together?

One of the things I adore about Ms Jacquelyn's books is the sense of family and belonging that she winds through the story. Regardless of what happens, the members of the MC have each others back.
As time has moved on the family has greatly extended and that feeling of belonging has grown and turned into something bigger, deeper and more encompassing - there's really not much they wouldn't do for each other...

So much happens in CRAVING TRIX that you're not sure which way is up at times and all you can do is hang on tight and hope like hell that things work out right.

There's a lot of biker/MC books about but, for me, Nicole's series are up there as some of the best.
Great writing (that gets better with each book) strong, likeable characters (add to that, the characters that are unlikeable I do truly hate as they are so well written), believable storylines and, as I've mentioned in previous reviews, the ability to rip your heart out, throw it around some before stomping on it for a bit, only to put it back together again.... THE ACES and now THE ACE'S SONS series are definite must reads and books that I recommend everyone should go check out!!!!

A solid 5* read for me and an absolute gem of a story that starts this new series off with a bang!!!!

4 Second Generation Stars

I loved the Craving Series. Like LOVED it. And now we get ANOTHER in the series. The series I thought was done. Holy Happiness on my Kindle.

Warning: Read the rest of the series first. You need the backstories and connections to fully appreciate this one.

Trix is the daughter from Book 1. And she is definitely her Pop's daughter. She is full of life and ready to claim that life with the boy she has been in love with her whole life. The only problem....he still thinks she is a kid.

Seventeen or not, you see that shit?

Trix knows what she wants. Until she doesn't get it. Time for a new dream. Far away.

Cameron, from Book 3, has always taken care of Trix. But he knows in his head she is too young for him. Unfortunately, his heart doesn't agree. He does know that she is off limits. For now.

But Trix does grow up.

Kissing Cam was like falling into cool water on a hot day. Shocking at first, then it felt so good I didn't want to come up for air.

And things between them take the course they were supposed to all along. Problem is that their lives still revolve around the Club. The Club that has enemies.

Trix wants a life of her own. But can she have that and Cam and her family and a career?

My Bea is fearless. She doesn't worry about this future because she's too busy kicking ass in the present.

This was a good addition to the series. You catch up with all the family. See the next generation coming of age. There is drama. Lots of drama. Some drama that is too much to speak of. Ms Jacquelyn is brutal with her characters. Just like life. Brutal.

I hope there is another because I do not want to leave this family behind. I want more of the next generation. I just hope Ms Jacquelyn is nicer to them and me in the next one.

Where should I begin with this book?
**** Spoilers****
I guess I'll just dive right in & say, Cam & Trix are fucking morons. He pretty much forces her into some kind of relationship & she just accepts it. For, supposedly, being a strong girl Trix sure is spineless. Cam constantly bosses her around & just when I think she's not gonna take his bullshit, she does. Then she ends up being pregnant & is so terrified that she decides she doesn't wanna keep it. Now, I'm very much prochoice so I think a woman should be able to decide no matter what anyone else thinks. Her fears are justified. But when she tells him, his reaction is appalling & made me wanna rip his nuts off. She could 't even explain her reasons or feelings because he was a complete asshole. Then she changes her mind because she doesn't wanna upset him. So you're going to bring a child into this world out of guilt or because you wanted to keep your significant other happy? Sorry it lost me there. Trix is completely spineless by just giving in or by allowing everyone to treat her like she's the worst person ever. When she eventually tells her mom & Nan about wanting an abortion, it was like dealing with a firing squad. Family is suppose to love & support each other unconditionally & without judgement. That whole thing really turned me off & made me like the book less.

Out of all the books in this MC series this is 2nd least favorite. I will not be continuing with these. I cannot stand books where the lead male is a controlling, manipulative douche & the lead female is a spineless twit.

This book started out a cluster-fu*k. There was hardly any realtionship building, and everything seemed rushed. It was not unitl i hit the 75% finished mark, that i started to enjoy Cam and Bea's story. I also wish the author had included a glossary at the begininng of the book because I forgot which couples were together and which kids belonged to who. I will say that I am excited for the next Book, Craving Molly. Jacquelyn did a nice job setting Will's character up - boy's got a lot of guilt to deal with in his book.
