(Book 1 in the 'Forever Series')

Every so often someone special comes in to your life and it is so monumental that it marks time. It’s like a date is forever imprinted on your heart. After that, everything before pales in comparison and you wonder what you ever did without them….

Feeling the need for a change in life, Ava Lucas boards a plane for LA to work with her movie star sister. After making a vow to steer clear of men while she is there, she comes face to face with danger and temptation - all wrapped up in a 6 foot, blue-eyed, smoking-hot package. Her promise to herself is compromised as soon as she locks eyes with her sister’s gorgeous co-star, but already knowing his reputation with women, can she resist?

Ethan Drake is Hollywood royalty. Hot and charismatic. A total player. He sets his sights on Ava from the moment he lays eyes on her and what starts as a conquest turns in to more as she manages to chip away at the walls he has built over the years to protect his heart.

Can Ava resist the powerful lure of Ethan and stay true to her promise? Can Ethan bury his demons and turn his back on his playboy ways to convince Ava to be his?

Hi, I'm Wendy Louise. I'm a wife and mum living in Melbourne, Australia. I love to read and write, and I somehow manage to fit writing into my life along with my regular daily duties, which include a full-time job and life in general with two busy children.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After many surgeries and treatments, I learnt that life is short and you need to grab it while you can. I always wanted to write, and I realized that it was now or never. The stories in my head needed to hit the paper, so I sat down and started writing and I haven't looked back.

You can usually find me with a few books on the go at once - whether that be reading them, or writing them. I love chocolate and trashy reality TV. It's not unusual for me to combine all these loves and attempt to write, while watching an episode of the Kardashians or The Bachelor, and devouring a block of Cadbury Dairy Milk.

I am so excited to bring my novels to you all. They are such a labour of love for me.

Happy reading and enjoy

This was a very quick contemporary. The story wasn't particularly original, Ava moves to LA to be her movie star sister's PA. She meets Ethan Drake the gorgeous son of actress Elizabeth Drake who is the stereotypical guy who doesn't do relationships but then they meet and they fall in love. Obviously, it doesn't go smoothly 100% of the time but they have a happy ending.

This book was ok, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't groundbreaking, it was similar to many other books that I have read. The characters were ok as well, they weren't the best-written characters, but they weren't completely terrible. For me, large parts of this book were so predictable and a lot of the characters were typical chick lit characters. The plot twist however, did surprise me which is why I gave it 3 stars rather than 2.

Actor/ miscommunication/ reformed playboy

I didn’t care for the FMC. There is a huge miscommunication trope between the FMC and the MMC. She runs away and ignores everyone until a tragedy finally gets her to respond. She abandoned her sister/ job/ friends/ and boyfriend and ghosts them but as soon as she comes back, all is forgiven. It was annoying.

Also the separated at birth/ twin sister thing was, for lack of a better word, ridiculous. When we found out that the MMC has a secret twin sister, there were only so many characters it could be. It was fairly predictable. Growing up in the same city, surrounded by the same people, their parents are lucky that the siblings were never attracted to each other. I guess that’s one saving grace about this plot point.

The only word that does this book justice is CRINGE. From the storyline to the characters and the writing, it is just painfully cringe. Plain and simple. And the exorbitant amount of spelling mistakes are the least abominable about it - my personal favourite being 'on line'...

Reading this felt like I had tumbled across a prepubescent's secret diary, full teenage angst and all. The writing is immature and frankly bad.

I am going to need some time to get over this book.

this book came soooo close to being a DNF. The only reason I gave it a two was because I finished it.

This book wasn't interesting enough to be this long. Probably due to the authors need to over clarify things. For example: “He manoeuvres me so my legs end up either side of his, so I’m straddling him”
Or:
"He smiles again, allowing his plump lips to pull up at each end, "
Oh, alright you meant that kind of smiling, the one where your lips go up as opposed to the other type of smiling and you just had to add that clause to clarify. And then the full stops. Single word sentences can be very effective but when. You. Use. Them. In. Almost. Every. Other. Page. They. Just. Become. Annoying.

The male character was cliched and overly charming, the female character was so basic, which I know shouldn't be an insult, you should be allowed to like anything you want. But ffs Twilight?! How can anyone over the age of 20 have twilight as their favourite movie? She wasn't a very memorable character either. Even the author wasn't able to remember her eye colour. At the beginning of one page "Her blue eyes are alight” and by the next: “I sit back and stare in to her gorgeous brown eyes and smile, realising how lucky I am to have her with me”

I read some parts out for my sister
(“I couldn’t decide what to wear tonight, so I decided on a coral coloured baby doll dress.")
and she thought it was written by a 13 year old, but she doesn't read chick lit so her standards are still high.
It's not absolutely awful, especially if you're just looking for a light summer read. But I found it mind numbing after the first few chapters and the only reason I finished is so I could tick off another book from my reading challenge.

Every bit the cliché, but hey, I am all for cliché's! And faaaar too much narration and unnecessary description over mundane things, the book could easily be cut down half it's size if it weren't for the description - but that didn't make it too bad. Overall, a cute easy read! I have a feeling Olivia and Grayson's story will be a whole lot more interesting.

I was enjoying this, but then I read some really well-written books (imo), and these characters, even though they were out of college, just seemed like immature junior high kids.
