Mariah Shirazi is the best PR agent in the country, but she’s drowning in work.
Cian O’Donnell is the cocky sports agent who doesn’t believe PR should exist.
And now they’re stuck together.
Jeffers & Associates is a fast-paced, elite, and powerful sports agency. It’s where Cian got his first job as an agent after retiring from professional soccer, and where Mariah finds a fresh start after her firm is acquired. Cian’s the kind of agent everyone wants on their competent, charismatic, and hiding who he really is. Mariah is a total badass, if she could ever learn to say no to a new client, more work, the next biggest thing.
Forced to work together for the good of their clients, the tension between Mariah and Cian ratchets up. Soon, however, contentious meetings and cutting snark turns into late nights that heat up the office in a completely new way. When old flames from the past show up with a revelation that threatens to blow up the partnership they’ve built, will these two be able to withstand the heat, or are the offices at Jeffers & Associates icing over for good?
Unbreakable is an enemies to lovers, millionaire, workplace romance featuring found family, high spice, and plenty of banter. It is the second book in the Billionaire’s Row series, but can be read as a standalone.
Meghan French is a romance author who loves writing about strong female characters and the swoonworthy, dirty-talking men who love them. A self-professed foodie and yogini, she lives in Arizona with her husband and dog. When she’s not in a writing cave, she spends her time as a school psychologist, hiking, and reading all the romance novels she can get her hands on.
Workplace enemies, ridiculously good banter and a cocky man who eventually becomes a complete softie. I AM SOO IN.
Mariah and Cian’s back-and-forth was so entertaining, and watching their rivalry turn into something more was such a treat. Mariah was a badass, confident and hardworking, but I also truly enjoyed seeing her softer side and how she slowly learned she didn’t have to do everything alone.
And Cian? This man was such a pleasant surprise! Beneath all that arrogance was someone incredibly thoughtful and affectionate. Watching him become Mariah’s biggest supporter and seeing all the little ways he cared for her was SO satisfying. Their chemistry was fantastic, the banter had me smiling, and the spice definitely delivered!
I also loved discovering more about Cian’s past and seeing his softer, more vulnerable side. The friendships at Jeffers & Associates and getting to revisit familiar faces were such a lovely bonus. Between the workplace tension, character development and all those swoony moments, this was such a fun romance.
I had a brilliant time with these two!

A sincere thank you to Meghan French and The Smuthood for the ARC! 🥰📚
I’m so grateful for the early read. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. ✨
Idk where to start, The relationship between Cian and Mariah is like a breathe of fresh hair. I love to read about enemies to lovers knowing that you can feel and read the tension between the characters. Thank you for the opportunity to have ARC read this book now knowing I'm going to dive into my Kindle to get the first book because Fern just brings curiosity. Loved it!
Thank you soso much to The Smuthood and Meghan French for providing me with the opportunity to read this as an ARC reader, I loved this book!! I genuinely had no idea that I would fall in love with Meghan's books this hard, but HERE WE ARE!
Okay onto the actual book, I LOVE a good enemies-to-lovers workplace sort of thing, and this one was so. Fucking. GOOD. The BANTERRR!!! I mean, the way these two went from wanting to strangle each other to being completely, utterly, ridiculously obsessed?? Yeah, I ate this up.
So, we have Mariah, who's getting a fresh start and all that shit, and she's hardworking, independent, and honestly a total badass and I love that for her. Like, you go girl. Except, we have this stuck-up brat, Cian, who thinks PR is useless. And of course, Mariah overhears him talking shit about her job on her very first day. Not exactly the best first impression. For either of them, really.
ANYWAYYYYYY, I absolutely LOVED Mariah. She's spent so much time proving herself in a male-dominated industry that she's gotten used to having her guard up, and I really liked how that played into her character. She's confident, sarcastic, and has absolutely no problem putting Cian in his place. But underneath all that, she's also dealing with insecurities and the damage left behind by her previous relationship. I loved seeing her slowly realize that she didn't always have to be the strong one or handle every little thing by herself.
AND CIAN O'DONNELL??? THIS MAN. 😭
I'm not even going to pretend I liked him immediately because he was such an asshole at the beginning. Like, back the fuck up, dude. And the way he kept dismissing Mariah and her work had me wanting to smack some sense into him. I did NOT care if he was hot or not. But once he started actually paying attention to her and realizing how wrong he'd been? Oh, I was GONE. DEAD! The fact that he turned into a man who's completely fucking obsessed with her?? FHSIHFOIHN. I LOST IT!
And what made me love him even more was how caring he became. The little things he did for Mariah, the way he noticed when she was overwhelmed, and how he genuinely wanted to take care of her?? SO GOOD. Especially when he showed up for her when she was struggling and reminded her that she didn't have to do everything alone. The whole "Who takes care of you, Mariah?" thing was one of my favorites. Like, I don't care if he said that in his head. NO, THAT WAS PERFECTION!
Their banter was probably one of my favorite parts of the entire book. These two could NOT have a normal conversation without throwing some sarcastic comment at each other, and I loved every second of it. Mariah literally referring to Cian as the devil while he's out here calling her 'sunshine'?? PLEASE. And when he tells her, "But I'm your devil"??? SHUT UP. 😭
Also, THE SPICE??? Meghan was not playing around. The sexual tension between these two was insane, and once they finally gave in to it, things got very fucking interesting. I loved that even when their relationship became physical, they still had that same competitive, sarcastic dynamic. Neither of them wanted to be the first to admit just how deep their feelings were getting. Which was both annoying and 'GIMME MORE WOMAN, DON'T HOLD BACK ON ME', if you know what I mean.
But I also really appreciated that the book wasn't just banter and spice. Both Mariah and Cian had their own issues to work through, and seeing them become comfortable enough to show each other their more vulnerable sides made their relationship so much better. Cian especially surprised me because there was so much more to him than the cocky playboy everyone assumed he was.
Now, the drama toward the end?? OH MY GOD. I knew things couldn't possibly stay peaceful forever, but I was still so frustrated when everything started falling apart. 😭 The whole situation with their pasts coming back to cause problems had me stressed, and there were definitely moments when I wanted them to just sit down and have a proper fucking conversation. I understood why Mariah reacted the way she did, especially considering what she'd been through, but that didn't make it any less frustrating to read.
And can we appreciate the friendships in this book too?? I loved that Mariah and Cian had people around them who genuinely cared about them. The whole Jeffers & Associates dynamic was such a fun addition, and I just feel like it really added to the story and all that jazz.
Overall, I had SUCH a good time reading this. The enemies-to-lovers tension was great, the chemistry was insane, and I loved how their relationship developed into something much deeper than either of them expected. This woman? She deserved someone who would love her with everything he had, and Cian ended up being exactly that person. Surprisingly, but also unsurprisingly since the book is about him. Part of it is quite literally in his POV. So...
GRRR, I genuinely loved these two!! Cian went from being an arrogant pain in the ass to one of my favorite parts of the book, and Mariah was such a good FMC. The drama stressed me the fuck out, but the romance, the character development, and all those sweet little moments made it so worth it. <33
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I've loved this whole series - we finally get sports agent Cian's story (and fmc Mariah popped up throughout the Chicago Foxes series as well!), and we finally get the whole story behind the cocky playboy.
Jeffers and Associates head honcho Sean brings Mariah Shirazi - PR extraordinaire - into J and A to head up the new PR wing of the sports agency, and his second in command, Cian O'Donnell, is not happy about it. In fact, he's ready to fight - he had awful experiences with how PR shaped his personality as a young athlete, and has been trying to find himself ever since. He takes that out on Mariah, dubbing her the Ice Queen, and she responds in kind (never one to step down from a challenge) - and thus, their workplace enemies to lovers path is laid...
These two have all the banter! They challenge each other, but gradually learn to respect each others' work ethic and underlying kindness and eventually it all leads to some heated interactions-turned-intimacy. I love a "just this once" "get it out of our systems" situation - promises, promises...
The third act gets messy - and I'm here for it - these two are so competent professionally, and have a lot of growing to do personally (and tbh, that is so reflective of real-life success stores - single-mindedly pursuing career objectives and letting the personal life fade) - but these two put in the work! And it's nice to see both characters reflecting on how they contributed to issues and solutions in the relationship as they head towards HEA.
As always, Meghan keeps the spice spicing! The softer and vulnerable moments are so good, too, and I appreciated that these characters were allowed to be complicated and mess up and work on fixing it. I do love a good grovel on the mmc's part, and Cian did not disappoint!
*Opinions are my own, and I am grateful to the author for an eARC of this book.
Cian: PR is pointless. Mariah: is literally one of the best PR professionals in the country who cares about her clients... Cian approximately five minutes later: 👁️👄👁️ SIR. 😂
The enemies-to-lovers energy in this one was SO much fun. Mariah and Cian start out professionally irritating the hell out of each other, and you just KNOW all that arguing and snark is eventually going to turn into something else.
And OH BOY DOES IT. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Mariah was easily one of my favorite parts of this book. She’s successful, smart, ambitious, and a complete badass at her job but girlfriend PLEASE learn how to say no to some work. 😭 Meanwhile, Cian is cocky, charming, frustrating, and hiding way more underneath that personality than you initially realize.
I especially loved watching Cian go from basically “Why do we even need PR?” to respecting Mariah, defending her, and realizing just how valuable she is.
THAT is the character development I wanted. 👏
Then the past shows up carrying a whole suitcase full of drama, because apparently these two weren't suffering enough already. The twists involving Cian’s past genuinely had me going, WAIT…WHAT?!
This was messy, funny, emotional, sexy, and exactly the kind of workplace enemies-to-lovers romance where I’m sitting there thinking, You two supposedly hate each other but somehow you're paying an AWFUL lot of attention to one another. 👀
🌶️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🏆 Plot: 🏆🏆🏆🏆
Moral of the story: Never tell a PR queen her entire profession is useless unless you're prepared to fall in love with her. 😂
Thank you @smuthood and @meghanfrenchauthor for this ARC!!
This was such a good, fun read! 💕
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Cian and Mariah. Their chemistry was so good, and Cian?! UGH. I absolutely loved how sensitive and observant he was. The way he paid attention to Mariah and picked up on the little things about her was everything! We love a man who notices the details!! 🥹
One thing I especially appreciated was the representation of a Persian woman and Persian culture. As a Persian woman myself, it was so refreshing to see that representation in a romance book! HOWEVER, I do have a little bone to pick. 😂 Every time Mariah used the word habibi, I cringed a little. That’s an Arabic term of endearment, not a Persian one! It genuinely irked me because it felt like the cultural research missed the mark there. I mean, how do you incorporate fesenjan into the story but then have your Persian character saying habibi?! It just doesn’t work for me! I loved seeing my culture represented, which is exactly why I wanted those little details to be accurate.
My other critique was the writing itself. At times, it felt a little choppy. There would be this buildup to a scene that seemed like it was going to be a big moment, only for the next page to completely brush over it or briefly mention what happened in past tense. I kept thinking, WAIT, weren’t we just building up to something?! 😂 It made certain moments feel rushed when I really wanted to experience them alongside the characters.
That being said, I genuinely enjoyed my time reading this! Cian and Mariah’s relationship was so enjoyable, and despite a few things that pulled me out of the story, it was still a really fun romance. And honestly, we need more Cians in the world! 💕📖
This was a really great read! Cian is a much more emotionally vulnerable MMC than I thought he'd be and I loved that. There were so many quotes I highlighted as I was reading this because they were just beautiful. The way he wanted to be held and hold her, the way he kept thinking to himself - awww!
"Nights with you are great. Incredible actually. But what I've wanted more than that, Mariah, is the mornings with you." (Swoooooon!)
What I also really enjoyed about this book was that that Cian and Mariah start off trading some great barbs at each other when they are in their enemies phase, but it doesn't take long before we get to the hate sex, and then by about halfway through the book they form a relationship. So while that was a fairly quick transition from enemies to lovers (compared to some books), it didn't actually feel rushed, I felt the pacing on that was really good and satisfying to read.
Once they became a couple, I was really surprised at how soft and vulnerable Cian was, learning about his past showed he had a lot more depth to his character than I often find in similar sorts of alphahole billionaire stories.
I'm not a huge fan of 3rd act breakups in general, but this one wasn't too bad because I could see both sides, it didn't go on for too long, and both characters were dealing with the pain.
Unbreakable was an interesting read for me. There were parts I genuinely enjoyed, but there were also times when I struggled to stay invested in the story.
The banter between Cian and Mariah was amusing, but I did start to tire of it a little. It felt like 1/2 the book was just them bickering. Once the fighting eased up and their relationship started developing, I found myself enjoying the story much more.
The spice, though? No complaints there! 🔥 Once things heated up, those scenes definitely delivered.
Where I struggled a little bit was with the emotional connection. I often felt like I was being told how the characters felt about each other rather than actually feeling those emotions through the writing. I wanted to be more invested in their relationship, but it took me a while to get there.
The pacing was another issue for me. Some parts felt drawn out, while others moved so quickly that I found myself backtracking to figure out what had happened. There were some quick transitions and major developments that seemed to happen off-page. The final stretch felt a little rushed, with a lot happening in a relatively short amount of time.
That said, I was happy with where Cian and Mariah ended up at the end of the book. I genuinely wanted things to work out for them, and their ending made me smile. The humor had its moments, the spice was great, and I did enjoy the relationship more as the story progressed.
WOW I have never locked in so hard in a book before 😍
Mariah is a PR specialist, joining Jeffers and Associates (her friend’s sports agency) to be on their team. As she arrives she is greeted by a cocky, arrogant man named Cian who does nothing but make sly jabs at her constantly.
After both vowing they would never touch each other with a barge pole: late nights and snarky remarks turn into something hotter. After their past catches up to them, we’ll soon see how strong their bond holds.
The chemistry in this book was on FIRE! 🔥 The nicknames they gave each other were absolutely hilarious- the comments and banter made me laugh out loud so many times! I love that Cian saw Mariah, saw every little detail and knew what she needed before she did. Their relationship was beautifully built up and I loved every second. Mariah always felt like she had to be strong and powerful, but she needed someone to care for her, and Cian did a wonderful job at it (despite sometimes me wanting to poke his eyes out at stupid comments he made). The pacing was spot on, the tension was to die for and the writing was superb! Thank you so much Meghan that I could to read another ARC and get to see previous characters that we love in this book too! HEA 🫶🏼🖤
ARC Review: Thank you to the author and The Smuthood Inc for providing me with an advanced reader copy. As always, it's an honour to be selected, 𝘔𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵.
👌❤️🫦 My devotion to the Billionaires Row is 𝑼𝒏𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆.
I absolutely loved it, as with Unforgivable, this second instalment really gives me everything to keep me hooked, swooning, giggling, yearning, crying, throwing pillows and sweating.
Meghan French really does know how to initiate a book that keeps you engaged. Eloquently written with banter and emotions you feel as your own for BOTH MC's.
Our FMC is any mans dream but for those that intimidate easily, well you get the Ice Queen. She is strong, confident, fiery and fiercely capable of anything she set her mind to... Except a certain temptation that is as delicious as our MMC.
Our MMC is an alphahole who every one wants for a good time. Charming, charismatic, handsome, assertive, protective and successful... But with a chip on his shoulder.
The tension runs high, the stakes even high, but when these two go head to head it's an extension to the chemistry burning between them like an inferno.
The surprise at the end of the Chapter 40... 🥵🫣🤭🤩 I am all for that scene.
I can gush for hours but this was exceptional. These men from Billionaires Row really know how to "work" their woman.
What a read!!!! I loved this book from beginning to end, the banter chefs kiss.
We meet Mariah chapter ONE and we see exactly why she’s a BADDIE, walking to work while putting out a forest fire with the media. Yup that’s our girl, from the beginning you know she means business and she stands her ground. Shes excited to start a new era with a new job, maybe a new man!? But what happens when you walk into your friend’s office and the first thing you hear is “PR Agents glorified babysitters. She better not get in my f⚽️cking way.”
Hello there Cain, maybe check before you open your mouth next time!? At first I was really not into his attitude towards Mariah, I mean she’s a total Queen she really didn’t deserve his jabs. But then we see that it’s just their foreplay. Cain is soooo much more than your average f⚽️ck boy/Assh⚽️le it takes us a while to get to his center and get to really know him. I just want to crawl in the book and hug him!!!
Overall this book is AMAZING, I loved the writing their story is so natural it flows perfectly. The twists and turns we see towards the end ohh my god it came out of nowhere I would have never expected something like that.
This is definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a reread for me!!!
Meghan had me hooked on this one from the first page! Cian and Mariah!! Eeekkk!!! The definition of enemies to lovers!! Loved every second of this book! The banter, the angst, the slow burn!
Mariah is a badass PR specialist joining Jeffers and Associates after being burnt out working on her own! Cian gives off a bad impression on her first day when she overheard him calling her a glorified babysitter 😖
There’s so much built up tension between the two that there’s sparks when they finally give into each other. Initially what started as just one night, turns into more. But they both let their insecurities and distrust of people get the worst of them
We do get a short third act breakup but we get to see Cian grovel!!!! The man is such a green flag for Mariah! He’s so in tune with her feelings and constantly showing her that she’s perfect the way she is! He leaves her sandwiches on her desk!!! Swoon!! And I love when a MMC owns up to his emotions
This is a standalone but would be best read after Unforgivable to keep up with all characters
Miscommunication Enemies to lovers He falls first Workplace romance Cheating Groveling
Mariah the PR goddess and Cian the sports agent should be on the same side, right? But when their first meeting is a disaster they’re instantly aligned against each other. The snark and banter are like kindling for a fire.
I love Mariah! She is so fierce. She’s strong, independent, confident, and knows what she will and won’t accept. In this case she won’t let a man push her aside when she’s bringing so much to the table.
Cian (Key-in apparently but in my head I keep saying cayenne 🫣) is the epitome of hurt people hurt people. Except he tries soooo hard not hurt Mariah that he hurts her by exclusion. He’s really too smart for how some of the events unfold, but sometimes we just have to roll with it for the storyline.
The lengths Cian goes to fix things and the way Mariah brings down her walls in the end save the day. I appreciate that both parties had to recognize their baggage played a part in the problem and they can drop that baggage and move forward better, together.
As a newer reader to Meghan’s book, I was not sure what to expect but oh my goodness I love this book so much!
We first get introduced to Cian in Unforgivable which is the first book in this collection (Great read- if you haven’t read that yet do that first!) Cian peaked my interest in book 1 so when I found out his book was book 2 I was so excited to read it.
Cian is a retired soccer player turned sports agent and Mariah is the PR rep at the firm Cian works for. Mariah is just trying to make her dreams come true but Cian can’t stand PR reps and he is not quiet about his feelings!
Let me tell you, at first I was like ok Cian is being a jerk but Mariah could push back. Meghan then hits the reader with banter, lust, and plot twists that have you needing to read what was next to come.
Loved this book and in the end loved Cian again too.
Thank you to Meghan and The Smuthood for the opportunity to read this as an ARC and allowing to find a new author that I love to read. All the thoughts in this review are my honest thoughts.
I swear to God every time Cian says “My love” in that naughty accent I STOPPED BREATHING! HAHA
I think this author has found the perfect recipe for an office romance, it has the perfect sense of forbidden taboo romance but combined with the I hate you but can stop thinking about you… the banter, the little acts that shows that they actually care… made the coffee for the other, the breakfast, and other stuff that in the “office” setting takes that much importance.
And also it is focused in the office but in any moment you feel tired of that ambiance because it’s what brings the whole thing together!
I had an amazing time reading these two, Cian is stupidly sexy and Mariah is the absolute queen to handle his cockiness.
As a little note I just wanted to say that I’m not the biggest fan of that little time jumps, I’m totally aware that is a personal preference but I think that little moments add to the chemistry and story too so I felt like we are missing out
Cian has worked for Jeffers & Associates for almost a decade and doesn't understand why they had to add a PR manager to the team, as he sees them as glorified babysitters. Mariah knows she's good at her job and is offended when she hears Cian say this, and this defines their relationship to start with. It was only supposed to be one time to get it out of their system, which turned into two another. Soon it's a full-blown relationship being declared at work. So, what happens when a ghost from Cian's past comes back with a secret that she's hidden, and he thinks he needs to handle it alone?
Mariah and Cian get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
These two were so great together! I loved their banter and how it never stopped; it just got flirtier rather than barbs at each other. I do have to wonder how soon some of the office picked up on what was happening between the two of them, other than Fern and Sean, who knew them well, and just didn't say anything. It would be interesting to know if they ever revisited the kids' conversation after all that went down with Cian's ex and Mariah not wanting kids. Not that she explicitly told him this while they were on a break. I can't wait to see who is next in either this family or office to find their happy ending and how hard they'll fall.
I received an advance review copy from The Smuthood Promo, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you to @thesmuthood and @meghanfrenchauthor for allowing me the opportunity to ARC read *Unbreakable*.
This book was such a fantastic read! The chemistry and banter between Mariah and Cian were absolutely off the charts, and those nicknames? **FANTASTIC!** I loved watching their relationship develop and build throughout the story. Who doesn't love an enemies-to-lovers office romance packed with witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and just the right amount of spice?!
I'm officially adding Meghan French to my list of authors to read because this was my first book by her, but it definitely won't be my last! I'm now diving into the first book and can't wait to see what happens next!
I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
To the broken ones and the ones who wear a mask. I see you”
I appreciated the way that the characters background was sprinkled throughout the story .. It helped with try flow and storyline so much more for me than a full stop in the current story to go back in time.
The characters were so real, like you could imagine them in your own life and live their experiences as they were. The masks they both wore were so incredibly applied and brought out so many emotions… Story was full of chemistry, banter, heartbreak, anguish and hope.
Mariah and Cian were a perfect fit match made and it was obvious, addicting and beautiful to watch throughout the entire story.
I’m blown away by the hard work and dedication from the characters and how real everything it was.
Thank you The Smuthood and author for the arc copy. All opinions are my own
Mariah finally got her dream job at her friends’ sports agency, and everything was going great. Well, except for the little pain in the ass in the form of the hottest man she’d ever seen. Too bad he was rude, arrogant… THE DEVIL.
Cian has never been a big fan of PR specialists, so when this new addition to the agency arrived, he wasn’t exactly happy about it.
Somehow, their banter and name-calling took things to the next level (a HOT one), and these two were so compatible they just couldn’t get enough of each other. Their casual, fooling-around phase eventually turned into a real relationship, with troubles and obstacles they had to learn to navigate together.
A book that has lots of spice and great banter is bound to be a good time! And man does Meghan deliver on the banter and spice, and the spice, hot hot hot. The love/hate Mariah and Cian have for each other is the best banter that leads to some of the best spice written. And just as you think the spice will continue Meghan throws in the MMC to have actual feelings and a heart. I mean come on, can’t he just be a playboy?! But no, not in this case a former playboy who’s misunderstood by the public but also by himself leads to so much growth by him and the MFC that you can feel it all unfold as it happens. First time reading a book by Meghan, I’ll be back. Thank you The Smuthood and Meghan for the ARC.
Unbreakable by Meghan French Billionaires Row book 2
The banter in this one completely consumed me. Cian and Mariah have the love hate relationship down to a science! These 2 were so much fun to read. Cian is a top sports agent and he has to deal with the new PR agent Mariah. They have a mutual distain for each other but also respect each other professionally. The whole “get it out of systems” scenes didn’t work so well for them because they have CHEMISTRY 😏🫠 JUST When the feelings become too hard for them to ignore the other shoe drops and the trust is broken. I ABSOLUTELY devoured the last part of the book and how well Cian worked to tell her Truth. Such real life situations and drama! LOVING this series 🖤
Give me an angsty enemies-to-lovers romance with forced proximity, tension, and banter, and I’m pretty much sold!
Mariah and Cian had me hooked with their clash of personalities and the kind of chemistry that makes it hard to keep things strictly professional. I loved the mix of sharp banter, workplace tension, and the slow shift from butting heads to something more.
Underneath all that tension, there’s an emotional side that adds depth to their relationship, and I was invested in seeing how everything would unfold. Add in complicated pasts and feelings that aren’t so easy to ignore, and you have a romance with plenty to keep you turning the pages
I was actually fighting for my life while reading this book, in the best way
I was reading majority of it, including the spicy scenes, while at work so trying not to giggle and squeal while I’m sure my cheeks were flushed red was quite the sight I am sure.
The banter was just top freaking notch from start to finish. When they hate each other to start, it just makes everything so much better and the tension so much higher and worth it when they finally give in.
And then when they get to the point that they secretly miss each other when they go awhile without seeing each other, then internally freak out because that isn’t what this is supposed to be….perfection
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
In this workplace, enemies to lovers story two people who have convinced themselves that no one will love them for who they truly are fall deeply in love.
The banter was top notch and then it turned into amazing tension. I loved how these two went through and grew through a lot in this book and then there was a twist towards the end I was not seeing.
Meghan I cannot wait to read your take on mafia in your next series! I already know it’s going to be amazing 🖤
Thank you Meghan and the Smuthood for this free e-arc!
I had such a great time reading this book. The characters have such good chemistry. The FMC was witty and smart. The banter was so much fun. She made him WORK for it. The way this man yearns for out FMC. 🥵 The FMC struggles with body issues. It was very relatable in the way we see ourselves and the way the world treats women. I loved the side characters and Friends. They are all fierce and loyal. Everything we look for in our friends. What I loved most was the emotions this book made me feel. I felt their losses and wins. I will definitely be reading more by Meghan French.
Cian and Mariah’s enemies vibe they had going was funny. All that “hate” turn into really hot passion. As their boss put – just f** it out of your system already - & boy did they!!!
These two were hot 🔥 together. From the couch scene to the elevator 😮💨 I was blushing. But this book wasn’t just spice, it had such a beautiful story line and Cian, my love 😩 ugh broke my heart because he believed he was unlovable.
This was my first book by Meghan and it was really good. The storyline is based on hate to love between Cian and Mariah.
Mariah, a PR Manager joins the company that Cian, a sports agent works for. From their first meeting their banter towards each other is more hate than friendship.
But after a while,, they begin to thaw towards each other. The book has a backstory of past trauma, alot of mixed emotions and some great spice.
If you haven't read Meghan's books before, you are missing out.
I was a bit frustrated with Cian at the beginning of the book. I felt he was being too much of an a**whole to be worth a shot with Mariah. However, his character growth was good to see and I was pleased he seeked help for his own issues. Loved Sean and Fern as supporting chatacters in this, they were good consistent friends to both MCs.
I really enjoyed this book—an "enemies-to-lovers" office romance. Mariah is a press agent—a workaholic and the best in the business—but she finds herself up against Cian, a sports agent who has absolutely no faith in press agents. Now, they’re forced to collaborate and end up spending a great deal of time together…
I was chosen as an ARC reader for this book. I can’t tell you enough great things about this book. Enemies to lovers, suspense, and hot spicy scenes. I feel in love with the main characters and didn’t want the book to end. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.
