Xavier Neal writes some wild shit. I am Jekyll and Hyde every time I read one of her stories. One minute I'm ready to smash my Kindle and the next I'm fawning like a lovesick teenager. The inner dialogs these characters have with the readers have me dying cause I be over hear nodding and answering lmao.
Im gonna stick with the series cause this chick's writing style is so addictive. She writes a lovable manwhore like no other. She's one of the reigning Queens of alpha assholes.
Absolutely no spoilers or summary in this review. Read about Merrick and Jovi for yourself then come holla at me. Let's talk about his endearing ho ass together and how he flips the script when the right girl comes along and changes his entire world. Oh and did I mention, she ends this shit on an explosive cliffhanger?! Cannot wait for book 2!

January 25, 2016It's going to be a bit difficult reviewing CLASSIC since it is a fairly quick read and very tightly written. There isn't a lot of room for hints that wouldn't be spoilers. Merrick and Jovi are both young and looking for fulfillment in their very different lives. Jovi is the only daughter of an extremely overprotective father. Having spent the first part of her college life living at home and taking classes at a local junior college she is now ready to experience life out from under her overbearing father's thumb. When I say that Jovi's father is overbearing, I mean he is smothering to the point where the poor girl is 21 and still can't manage to date freely.
Merrick is on the other side of the spectrum. Although he is guided and watched over by his older brother, Merrick has managed to live a bit wildly. He's a star driver in the underground street racing circuit and has his pick of women on any given night. Frustrated and discontented with his lack of real intimacy Merrick is pleasantly surprised when he finds what he didn't even know to hope for in the most unlikely of places and with the one girl in the entire city that he should stay as far away from as possible.
This was my first book read by Neal and I enjoyed her writing style very much. There was one thing that was outside of what I would find acceptable in real life. The biggest issue is the method of birth and disease control that her characters employ. It's unusual and I wasn't too thrilled that Jovi accepted it the way that she did. Outside of that CLASSIC has a nice pace, humor, and an interesting storyline that is unique. This does end in a cliffhanger but the second book Vintage is available.

This is a fabulous read with wonderful characters that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This is Merrick and Jovis story. Merrick is a badass but I loved him. He's pure wild and does street racing for a living. Jovi is the complete opposite of him. She's also the daughter of a police commissioner. Adding to her problems her dad is on a mission to catch Merrick and his brothers.
Amazing story that captivated me from start to finish.
Be warned there is a cliffhanger so get 1-clicking both books... You won't regret it:)

I love Xavier's writing style as you feel like you're tagging right along with everything that's going on, like you're just another one of the characters included in the story with the best seat in the house.
I never give spoilers or discuss the plot in reviews, I believe everyone should interpret a piece of writing for themselves to get the best enjoyment and a personalised version if you like, but I will tell you that the character development and story arc is fab :D

Get Your Heart Racing!
This book is one heck of a ride! I absolutely loved it, from the very beginning, I was hooked, I was sucked right in and and held fast, turning page after page until the very end, AND the much promised shout out loud cliffhanger. "Adrenaline Series" definitely is an appropriate name, as this story really gets your heart pumping. It's fast, paced, exciting and full of thrills and twists. I absolutely love the author's writing style and voice, the characters are extremely well developed and we get a look at what is going on inside their heads, which at times adds a bit of comedic relief. I can;t wait to dig in to Vintage. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an hones review.

Ok, Xavier Neal has done it again. Every time I think she can't get better after I finish one of her amazing books, she releases a new one and blows me away. She's one of my all time favorite authors.
Classic is her newest novel in a series. It follows Merrick (loved that name btw) and Jovi and their lives and how they fell in love. Their love story kind of reminds me to Romeo and Juliet's story. (Yep, its kind of forbidden and tragic). Merrick is the youngest out of five boys and a not so unpopular street racer. He has money, girls, brothers who love him, a loyal best friend and a very chaotic cousin (loved him!). He basically has everything a boy at 23 could want, right? Well, he isn't happy with his lifestyle and he wants something more, so when he meets Jovi he literally falls in love with her and it's soooo sweet. The way he treats her and the way they have a deep connection (just not their love for Van Gogh, but everything else too) is so amazing. The fact that her father is a commissioner doesn't scare him away (although it should). He wants her, he loves her and he needs her. That's all that matters to him.
You just have to read this amazing novel. I loved everything about it. And I want a Merrick now. lol.
The story ends with a very mean cliffhanger, so just be warned. But the author is already writing the second one, so I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one.
This was a 5 star read for me. And I already read it 3 times this past 2 weeks, because it was so amazing haha.

Omg I can't even........
Move over Logan Kellar, there is a new bad boy in town!!! Merrick McCoy is going to have you swoon and fan yourself. And his brother aren't so bad either!!!! I absolutely love where this story is going. We have a bad boy family that illegally races, and then a sweet girl who's father is the commissioner for the police force!! Commissioner I said!!!!!! Yeah see how that's going to work out!!!! Jovi is a young girl trying to break free from her father, and wants to actually LIVE life, than just let it pass you by. She's ready to leave the nest and goto college, and it's her last summer home. So she wants to let lose, and start having fun. When she meets Merrick, there is an instant attraction. But can she give her heart to him. Merrick has a lot going on, but he wants nothing more than to steal Jovi's heart. Can their love become Classic???? This book will make you laugh, cry, and OMG SCREAM!!!! Xavier really knows how to give us characters that we can relate to. She can bring every emotion out of us, and leave us begging for more. ( Like I did after finishing this book )
Have fun girls, but be ready for the time of your life!!!!

When they meet sparks fly, they can't help but keep seeing each other. Jovi's best friend Hayli refers to Merrick as Romeo but Jovi thinks she actually means Casanova. I believe Hayli has it right. These 2 are from completely opposite worlds and being together has more consequences than either of them could have known.
This book definitely is written in Xavier Neal's style so of course there's a WHAT THE CRAP, ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING? cliffhanger.

OMG I Loved It :) :)
Once again Xavier Neal has completely blow me away with this amazing story. This Story is About Merrick and Jovi and they could not be more opposite from one another but also so great together at the same time. Merrick is a Badass just all around and he street races for a living and is freaking awesome at it. Jovi is this sweet innocent girl who's daddy just so happens to be the police commissioner's daughter and is the person that is hunting Merrick and his brother's. But what happens when there two world's collide will there filling's for each other be enough? This story is AWESOME and I cant wait for book 2 in this series. Great Work Xavier Neal :)

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review. I loved this book! I definitely want to read more by Xavier Neal! This was the first book I've read by this author and I'm so glad I did. It had everything from action to racing to love to art and add in a controlling father and a grouchy big brother and I'm surprised Merrick and Jovi stood a chance. This book leaves you with a cliff hanger ending that has you wanting the next book right away. I would most definitely recommend this book to other readers and I can't wait to read the next in the series!

HOT! Different than what I was expecting but I loved it! Jovi and Merrick are from 2 different backgrounds and the sexual tension between the two was amazing!!! I can't wait for the next one!

Enjoyable
I am absolutely loving this series. I love Merrick and Jovi. Such a great couple. Good girl falls for the bad boy. I absolutely love the story line. Love all the characters in this series. A little upset over the ending. Was not expecting a cliff hanger. Cant wait to see what happens. Great story line. Well written great character chemistry.Highly recommend.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!
Merrick is the youngest and possibly the wildest of 5 boys in his family. All the boys might as well have been born with gas flowing thru their veins with the ability they are naturally born with to drive and race cars. Along with that birth right is also the criminal side that their racing and other not so legal activities that comes along with it.
Flip that coin and you get the only child and precious daughter of the captain of the police force Jovi. Innocent as the day is long and firmly under her fathers thumb and always under his watch.
Like most opposites, this relationship draws like a magnetic force! Jovi wanting a taste of Merricks wild lifestyle and all of his heart, and Merrick loving the thought of "more to life" that Jovi represents.
This book has pulled me in and i cant wait to see how Merrick and Jovi grow and i know it will keep me on the edge of my seat watching all the trials and tribulations that their love will hopefully surpass!
As a book #1 this book does an amazing job getting your attention and pulling you in, it also makes you want to mark the days on your calendar for when the rest will be out!
I couldn't pull my attention away from this book for a minute so i suggest you use the bathroom, eat a full meal, turn off your phone, and pour a very large glass of wine and keep the bottle close for the night while you read this lol.

I couldn't pull my attention away from this book for a minute so i suggest you use the bathroom, eat a full meal, turn off your phone, and pour a very large glass of wine and keep the bottle close for the night while you read this lol.

Holy crap, what a freaking adrenaline rush!!!! Once I started reading Classic, I couldn’t stop! Merrick McCoy is a local legend in his town. He’s an illegal street racer and involved somewhat in other things that aren’t quite lawful. He’s also a party boy who can have any woman he wants, but lately, he’s looking for something deeper. He soon finds it in good girl, Jovi. She intrigues Merrick because she’s different from anyone he has ever known. Jovi is trying to grab some independence from her overprotective father who just happens to be the police commissioner who is after Merrick’s family. Can you see where this is going? Nowhere good. But, you can’t deny what the heart wants, and Merrick and Jovi’s hearts want each other!
Again, Xavier has created a cast of characters that draw you into the story quickly! I loved Jovi. She’s the good girl who has done everything right and responsible in her life and wants to do something that involves feeling rather than thinking, and she finds that in Merrick. In this one, she even manages to incorporate shades of Romeo and Juliet. And, I love every single one of her series and characters. And, she uses cliffhangers in ways draw you back for the next book. Instead of making me mad or frustrated, she just makes me more excited for the next book! I just want to live inside of her head for just a little while…what a trip that would be. Again, Xavier, you have made me fall in love with a different man! I can’t wait to see how this series develops, not just with Merrick and Jovi, but some of the other characters as well. Not happening Xavier, no way!!
You can’t be serious woman, I am totally a Logan Kellar woman and now you have just gone and added another of your badass boys into the mix.
Jeez, Merrick McCoy… really Xavier you are seriously dangerous to my emotional wellbeing!!
I love everything that this author has ever written but this is pretty damn special (I am keeping my Logan fetish under wraps here for the purpose of this review, but it is hard to not feel torn!)
I have to admit that Merrick and his sexy assed brothers really are something else… add in a love interest that you just know is going to end up in a whole heap of trouble and this was a story that is destined to have me wrapped around my kindle, right up until the very last word.
So who do we have … well, Merrick and his brothers are racers, street racers to be more precise and they don’t exactly ply their trade on the right side of the law, but what does that matter when they are the best at what they do. And then you have Jovi, so far over on the right side of the law that she is straining on the leash to break free from the vice like grip that her very own long arm of the law has on her life, she is desperate to cut loose from her father the Police Commissioner.
Ready to step out and find her way in the world, she is just starting to dip her toe into the big bad world when her experimentation may just come to a crashing halt because she has met the formidable Merrick.
The connection was one of those that dreams are made of in an instant, just add hot water moment… and being together may just land the two of them in very hot water indeed.
Now I loved Merrick, the man with attitude, the love them and leave them guy that was just what I would have hoped his character would have been but what blew me away was the speed with which he changed his tune when Jovi came on the scene.
This man really did have to learn that things worth having were worth working and waiting for. He had to take his time and show this innocent girl that she was what he wanted and he would do what it took to get her.
But can they survive the pressure that their circumstances have placed upon them, can they ride the storm that is Jovi’s father and together can they finally reach the chequered flag and prove that they have what it takes to stay the course.
Ladies, let Merrick start your engines and get you revved up because this series is going to be one hell of a ride.

OMG I loved this book! Full speed, action packed romance that will get your pulses racing. Especially with the ending cliff hanger – aaaaaahhhhhhh not sure I can wait for the next part.
Very Romeo and Juliet, the likely lovers Merrick and Jovi embark on a classic romance with a modern day twist. That being that Merrick is a bad boy racer who has been pulled into the not so savoury world, on the wrong side of the law, along with his brothers and Jovi being the Commissioner’s only daughter, the one man who could take them all down.
A few chance meetings is all it takes though and once Merrick gets Jovi in his sights he doesn’t seem to care what his family might think, the only thing important to him is her. I love how their relationship slowly grows into something more intense. You can feel what they feel every step of the way and you will love every second of it.
One thing I loved about Xavier’s writing style was that throughout the book Merrick and Jovi are talking to the reader – genius! It’s a great laugh to be inside their heads to see what they are thinking. Its like we’re their conscience and they love to have a go at it every now and again.
This is the type of book that once you start you will not be able to put it down. When you get to the end you may be thinking of some choice words to say to Xavier though to get the next book to you quicker so you can see what happens next, because lets face it here it will be epic. I don’t know about you but Vintage (Adrenaline Book 2) will defiantly be a one click ‘buy now’ for me.

The title for this book is absolutely perfect. Classic is a modern day tale of star crossed lovers. Imagine Romero and Juliet meets The Fast and the Furious. Throw in Van Gough art visuals and a solid foundation of intrigue is created.
New Adult Romance isn't exactly my preferred genre. However, Xavier Neal keeps publishing books that could have me easily addicted. The characters in Classic are probably my favorite to date. With each new story Neal's characters seemingly gain more depth, enhancing an already captivating story-line.
Merrick is probably the sweetest, most intelligent and interesting Alpha male I've followed. And I would follow him anywhere! Jovi is the kind and considerate good girl who is desperate to break away from her father's shadow and stake her own claim on life. When the two met I was swept away. It was so sweet and just I couldn't imagine a more perfect scene. And the more time they spend together the more I could feel my own heart overflow with hope, love, and excitement. And while most may not be fans of cliffhangers, I say the more intense the better. This is one to have anxious readers begging for more. Classic is the new series to follow and if I could give more than 5 stars it wouldn't even be a thought.

OMFG!!! Xavier Neal has blown me away with yet another totally awesome book. From the start she has you hooked; this is the kind of book you won’t want to put down; fast paced, full of action, full of surprises and a sweet, sexy, HOT guy. Not forgetting a sweet, beautiful, girl full of life; just waiting to escape the restraints she has had on her all her life. Merrick will have you swooning ladies; he will get your panties in a twist and he will leave them wet. One thing I absolutely loved about this book was how the characters spoke to the reader; I loved this about the Sense series by Xavier Neal and I love it in Classic. I really feel a part of the story; like I’m a friend of theirs living each and every moment right along with them. I think I have fallen in love with each and every one of the McCoy brothers already. Be warned Xavier will leave you screaming at your kindles; you will want to hunt her down and scream at her. Merrick is a smart butt alpha male who knows what he wants and has the good looks to always get what he wants. When he sets his eyes on Jovi there is no turning back even if it might kill him.
This book has so many twists and turns! I fell in love with these two. Xavier Neal is amazing! She always knows how to make me laugh, cry, or even want to throw my phone at the wall. I can't wait for book two! Be warned though, there's a cliffy!

Another winner for Xavier Neal. Classic is the perfect "throwback" love story. Merrick is a gentleman who prior to meeting Jovi didn't always behave like one. He was "fast & furious " with his racing and women.. but he hit the brick wall with Jovi. He learned slow & steady is another way to become a winner when it comes to love.
Merrick a fast talking, fast driving ,fast loving,street racing, everything Jovi's Police Commissioner father has tried to protect her from is on one side of the law. Living for the thrill, women, and Money.. collides with intelligent, beautiful, overly protected Jovi, and the ultimate joy ride begins.

Xavier Neal really can write anything!
Merrick is busy enjoying his life while not so secretly wanting more. He wants someone to see beyond his fast car and the connection to the family business.
Jovi is wanting to climb out of the quiet demure box her father has always made her stay in. She's about ready to run off to college and start making her own mistakes. All she has to do is let her dad know.
A chance encounter changes everything. Suddenly meeting the person who fills the hole you didn't realize was there starts a string of events that no one can plan for, that has the potential to be epic or devastaing.
Classis is fast paced and well written. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, putting a different twist on the bad boy/good girl love story. Xavier Neal loves to do the unexpected and this one doesn't disappoint.

"I was looking for something to get me out of bed in the morning. Something to be the reds and oranges that fill my life. Something worth living for. Something more than money. More than cars. More than sex. I was looking for you."

Xavier Neal never lets me down. She brings the angst and oh so much fire to her stories. Ladies and Gentlemen can we say holy hell the hotness factor is through the roof. I'm not going to tell you the story. You need to read it. No you want just read it you will be engrossed in every page. YES!! It's that damn good. Xavier I can't want to see want comes out of that imagination of yours. I'm just going to Sit Down, Shut Up and Hold On. It's gonna be one heck of a ride.

“Tonight the drive is the opposite direction of the route we went to see the sunflowers. During the drive he holds my hand, dropping it only when he needs to shift gears. He tells me about some car he was working on at the shop, the story full of energy and joy.”
4 stars. I love this first book in the series!! I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this book is!! Great great book!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.
Oh god, not again. Xavier has made me obsessed with ANOTHER set of characters! I have no idea how she does it, but I love it!
I'm a huge fan of this author, and have absolutely loved everything I've read so far... But this might be my favourite!
I love how it's written, the dialogue and characters including the readers in their story, as if you're really there, just amazing!
Now, Merrick & Jovi, GAH! I just love them. Merrick lives life through his family name, that is both a blessing and a curse. He wants more for himself, he wants a reason to live, something legal, something beautiful. And he finds that with Jovi.
Jovi has had no choice but to live a sheltered life, with her father and his career... He doesn't let Jovi take any risks, he wants to know where she is constantly, to know she's safe.
Merrick and Jovi meet, and it's epic, the whole fate, destiny and all that jazz. They literally keep running into each other, and can't deny there's serious chemistry!
I can't wait to read more in this series, that cliffy.. Amazing but mean! Haha.

What can I say? Xavier Neal is an awesome story teller. When you open up a book she has written you can expect to be hooked. While I don't like cliffhangers I can say with total honesty that this author knows how to write one. Holy Captain Crunch.. I can barely wait to read the next book.
Merrick is the youngest of 5 brothers who were raised by the oldest brother after their parents died. They carry on the family business of street racing along with some related illegal activities. All the ladies swoon over these guys.
Jovi is the daughter of the Police Commissioner who has been working hard to catch and prosecute them. Jovi has also been overly protected by her father to the extent that she is about to move far away to go to college in order to have a normal life.
When she meets Merrick at a fund raiser, he totally sweeps her off her feet. I was captivated early in this story and did not want it to end.. If I keep writing spoilers will fall from my fingers so that's it folks.. Read it, you won't be sorry.
