Transparent

Her elusive past didn’t worry me,

Her heartbreaking scars never made me cringe,

And her haunting demons only made me a stronger man.

But the day Blake Martin was stolen from me,

I was scared to death.

Prepared to do anything necessary to get her back,

Little did I know it just might cost me my life.

My name is Madden Decker, and this is my story.

”To the end of the earth, sweet girl,” I reply inhaling her intoxicating scent. “I'd follow you anywhere. I love you more than life itself.”

Well hello there. I forgot all about Blake and Madden and here comes the sequel. Nice surprise, and as it turns out it was a great conclusion for their story.

I read the first book Translucent last year and I was almost afraid I would need to go back and re-read book one, but fear not the author has us covered. There actually is a summary in the beginning that tells you the plot of the whole first book. Much needed refresher. So, book 1 ended on a huge cliffhanger and book 2 picks up right where we've been hanging so patiently for the last year.

Long story short. Blake's past catches up with her. There are a lot of nefarious people involved. The russian mob. The italian mob. And Blake, 'the american princess' is right in the middle, part pawn - part damsel in distress. And Madden tries to find her and if possible save her. Not an easy task, but he has some unexpected help.

Funny thing. For the longest time I was convinced this wasn't the way I wanted their story to end. And then the last 20% happened and honestly I'm completely sold. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent book right from the start. There is action, angst, a lot of suspense and of course good writing by MS. Noelle. But when you look at it as the sequel to Translucent and as the last book in a duet it felt rushed and for me personally it was missing something...that is until right up at the end when everything came together quite beautifully.

My biggest issue was that the hero and the heroine had very little interaction for the better part of this instalment. In fact, Blake spends most of her time with Raze. Who is he, you might ask and you wouldn't be wrong. He came out of nowhere and stole the show. Russian mobster with a conscience. Really the most interesting character around.

Yes, Raze was probably the best part about this book for me, but his presence turned the series into a something of an unexpected love triangle - without really going there and then it all takes a turn anyway. I'm sorry this is probably confusing, but without giving too much away I just have to vent a little. ;) And yes, I was confused myself and a bit worried there for a minute.

Again, up until the end I had no idea how to rate this book. Ultimately I think 3.5 stars is a good rating for a short read. Overall an enjoyable conclusion. And the ending had me a bit weepy, not going to lie.

That's all I have to say right now.

Erin Noelle continually spellbinds her readers with her newest release Transparent, the final conclusion of the Luminous Series. Ms. Noelle truly has outdone herself with this emotional consuming romantic suspense that had me intrigued right off the opening pages. I went into reading Transparent without really knowing that I had to read Translucent first but luckily for me, I was able to get a gist of where Erin left off in the last book but I do highly recommend that you read the first book because after I finished reading Transparent, I knew I had to read Translucent next in order to find out how steamy and sexy Madden is of course.

#Transparent

Transparent was such an enticing gripping suspenseful read!!! Erin Noelle had me glued to my kindle as I await the fate of Blake and Madden's story. I was so absorbed with the many layers of suspense and intrigue that Ms. Noelle incorporated into the storyline. Each fiber of raw emotions and vulnerabilities were seeping through the pages allowing readers to be consumed with such strong passion, devotion, and sacrifices one must go through in order to fight for one's love. Transparent really captures your attention as you await the plot of revenge and chicanery in order to fulfill one's mission. I loved that Erin not only incorporated such craftiness into her storyline but she was able to pull in her readers to see a love that is not blurred or obscured. But a love that spoke volumes on sacrifices. A love that you are willing to fight and die for. I know readers will fall in love with Blake and Madden's story but Erin Noelle stole my heart with her secondary character, Raze. Raze's character instantly caught and held my attention throughout the book. The raw and tangible emotions that Raze evoked really made Transparent to stand out for me personally.

I have not read many books from Erin Noelle but I can attest that Transparent is a book that was beautifully well written. Ms. Noelle did a phenomenal job integrating so many layers and elements into this story that there was never a dull moment. This book was an exceptional romantic suspense that was raw, passionate, deadly, and full of surprises. So if you are looking for a book that reminds us all that love enables you to see the one you loved in a way that nobody else can see. It sees everything; the good, the bad, the flaws, the in between, the strength, the weakness and yet you still choose to love that person then I highly recommend you to read Transparent because this is a love story that was able to find light in the shadows of the past.

P.S.
Erin- If you are reading this review, PLEASE PLEASE (see I had to put please in all CAPS) write that certain character we were chatting about a book!!!! You know how much I loved that character and if I must BEG then I will beg. Hahaha. ;)

Another five star read in the conclusion of this fabulous duet! This series is addicting and these stories bring you every emotion possible. You'll love people you should hate and all because of Erin Noelle's insanely gifted writing. Seriously, she is probably one the best writers that I know and I adore how sweet she is!

Do yourself a favor and get this book and it's prequel. You need to read this duet. You need to.

Transparent is Book Two in the Luminous Series and follows Translucent. It's recommended you read the first book in the series before this one.

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy for an honest review. I've read everything that Erin Noelle has published. She can pull at your heartstrings like no other.

Madden Decker is successful, sexy and sinful. When he realizes that the woman he loves is in danger he will stop at nothing to get her back. When he is forced to view her tragic past it doesn't sway his feelings one bit.

Madden throws himself right into danger to save his girl, but is he strong enough?

This book and series grips you from the first page and doesn't let you go until the last page. Even then, I was screaming for more.

Erin has a way of writing strong relatable characters that you can't help but fall in love with.

This series is without a doubt one of my favorites.

Who knew anything involving the mafia could be so dang sexy? This book hits all the sexy pressure points. A captivating rich man trying to get his girlfriend back from a gorgeous mafia man? Uh yes, where do I sign up for that treatment?

They say the coals are the hottest part of a fire and good lord, did this book smoulder! Erin Noelle has a way of making things that aren't usually a turn on sound like they're dripping with sex appeal. Her writing is hypnotic and takes you on a journey you aren't willing to end. The pure enjoyment of the author's words had me wanting to slow down, but the suspense had me on the edge of my seat willing me to read faster. It was the best kind of carnival ride. ~ Kelly, 5 stars

~~~
My goodness, what a freaking ride was my heart put through in this continuation of Blake and Madden's story! To be honest, I wasn't sure how it was going to end; I felt like I literally held my breath through out the entire book.
This book was just, ARGHH! Amazing! And it played with my emotions like a violin plays music. Hold on tight to your heart because, once you're done, it will feel like it's been put through a blender.
Once again, freaking amazing job, Erin Noelle! I cannot wait for what else you have in store for us! ~ Kara, 5 Freaking Amazing stars
Another smashing hit by Erin Noelle!
Transparent is the follow-up to Translucent. You must read Translucent in order to understand Transparent. Even though alot of this is book is about Madden, it’s a continuation of his story with Blake.
Erin doesn’t hold anything back with the suspense, action and drama in this book. This is probably the first book with the least amount of sex scenes but the intensity is just awesome!
I won’t go into any of the plot except to say it’s one hell of a ride. I mean we’re talking mafia here. However, Raze will make you want to become a part of the mafia – he’s one alpha I won’t have a problem with.
Erin definitely showed off her writing skills and proves why she’s just not a romance writer. This book flowed beautifully – not just in the pace but also with the structure. She blended the romantic parts perfectly with all the suspense. Nothing felt out of place and everything just fell into place.
If you’re looking for a romance that digs deeper and gives you substance – this is one series you must read.
Bravo Erin!!
Wow. First of all I have to say this sequel didn't go at all how I thought it would. Definitely a plus. It made the story unpredictable. Another surprise was Raze. Where did he come from?! He stole the show in my opinion. I don't know how Blake would have gotten out of her predicament without him and his story tugged on my heart strings.
But, otherwise, I thought this follow-up was just okay. Blake and Madden had very little interaction. . Which I didn't like at all. Transparent felt more like a second book than a final book. I'm a tad disappointed considering the long wait. *shrugs*
Transparent (Luminous #2) by Erin Noelle
4.5 stars!!
“Get ready, girl. You’re about to become the most important pawn in the biggest mafia war this country has ever seen.”
To say that I was excited when I saw that Erin Noelle had penned a sequel to Translucent would be a severe understatement. This was one of those books that I had always wanted to read as I was desperate for more. I wanted to know what happened after and most of all I wanted to know that Blake/Bryleigh was okay. This girl just could not cut a break, just when you thought that she had it all, it seemed that her past was coming back to haunt her in the worst way.
This book put me through the emotional wringer for so many different reasons, just when you think you know who the bad guys are Erin Noelle turns everything on its head and the person you least expect becomes a hero. For me, this hero really made this book for me, while this is definitely Blake and Madden’s story, Erin Noelle also brings another man to the forefront, Raze and Raze really left an impact. Blake really needed friends and in the most unlikely of circumstances, Raze becomes her best one, if only the circumstances were different…
At the end of Translucent we were left with the mother of all cliff hangers and this book begins where Translucent ended. Blake had been kidnapped. Just when Blake had found happiness that happiness is ripped out from under her. Finally, Blake had found someone she loved, even if she had not been brave enough to utter those three little words. She was still extremely guarded, she had to be but with Madden Decker she could finally be herself.
Madden was head over heels in love, even though they had not been together that long there was nothing he wouldn’t do for Blake and little did he know those limits would be tested so soon. Once Madden shockingly realises what has actually happened he becomes Blake’s knight in shining armour, even if that meant putting his own life on the line.
“That’s who I am as a lover. A guardian. A protector…knowing she trusts me with all of her is the highest of highs.”
This book centres around Blake’s captivity and Madden and the FBI’s attempts at finding her before she meets a grisly end. Once it becomes apparent that she has been abducted by the mafia, many questions are raised. How did they find her and most importantly, why did they want her?
Erin Noelle really captured Madden’s desperation, my heart broke for him so many times and his sometimes rash actions had my heart bleeding for him. It takes something like this to make a person realise just how much someone means to them and it is here that Madden really appreciates just how strong his feelings and love is for Blake. He will do anything…give up everything if he could only get Blake back and it is also here that Madden finds out who he could really trust.
“…touching him, holding him, kissing him – I now know without a shadow of a doubt where my place is in his life: By his side.”
I have to mention Raze, this man, gah this man really got to me. A victim of the blood that ran through his veins, this man had lost so much and felt he had no purpose in life, but he was so much more than he thought. This man had a huge heart and no matter the ramifications he finally wanted redemption. He got it in the end. This man had me in tears so many times, such a beautiful character and one that I wished I knew more about. He was deep and troubled but he was just a lost soul that had lost his soul mate and had never recovered. I desperately wanted to cuddle him, hug him, just give him some love.
In summary, I loved this book, I loved the conclusion, I LOVED the fact that the author did NOT make this a love triangle but something much deeper, much more believable and so much more tangible. This was a story of righting a lot of wrongs.
“To the ends of the earth, sweet girl.”
I would love a book about Madden’s brother, Easton. Another complex character who I am sure has an incredibly interesting and eventful story to tell. Plus, we may get more Raze!!
Leaving us with a cliffy in Translucent, we were left wondering if Blake’s past finally caught up with her and boy did it ever.
FEAR: verb
be afraid of (someone or something) as likely to be dangerous, painful, or threatening
Madden is out of him MIND worried about Blake. When he learns about her past and the truth about her disappearance he carries the burden on his shoulders that he is the one who failed to protect her. He is also PISSED, scared and will stop at NOTHING to find her- no matter the serious threats he will have to face.
REGRET: verb
to feel sad or sorry about (something that you did or did not do) : to have regrets about (something)
Blake is scared and is also pissed when she learns the truth behind her abduction and the person responsible. Again, she finds herself in survival mode knowing that this time, she may not be lucky enough to walk away to the man she loves and the happily ever after she deserves. The one thing she is feeling is regret. After the nightmare of her ex, she has lived a cautious life, but who wouldn’t? Wanting so much to be free from all the nightmares but be trapped at the same time. Madden is her safe place and being away from him makes her realize how deep her feelings for him really are.
I loved the conclusion to Blake and Madden’s story. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a ride.
ENTHRALL: transitive verb
to hold the attention of (someone) by being very exciting, interesting, or beautiful
Blake has been through hell and back and she still believes in the good of people and love. She is one of the strongest female characters I have read. Strong to deal with the nightmare of a marriage she is also a survivor.
Madden is strong, cocky and confident knows what he wants. Women were a dime a dozen for him until he met Blake. She changed him and opened his heart in a way he never imagined. He is so blinded by his feeling for her that he doesn’t care who he has to deal with to get her back. I loved his determination.
I also fell in love with Easton in this one. I loved the fire that was set under him. It was an amazing wakeup call for him and I adored his dedication and need to prove to his brother and himself that he is worthy.
ENTHRALLING, the perfect word for this series! The ups, the downs, the unknown, the heartache, the loss.. Erin Noelle has an amazing ability to capture her readers from that first word she prints. She is an amazing story teller and I love escaping into the world of her characters. Her stories and characters are all consuming in the best ways possible.
Transparent is book 2 in the Luminous series and is the conclusion to Madden and Blake's story. If you haven't read Translucent then this book won't make much sense and if you haven't read it, you need to get on that pronto!!
Book 2 starts where book one left off. Blake has been kidnapped and her fate is unknown. I definitely don't want to post any major spoilers but I have one word for you "Raze"...that's all you need to know!!!
Blake is a fighter and will do what it takes to get back to Madden even if it means making a deal with the devil.
This amazing conclusion is a must read! Erin Noelle never disappoints!
Review by Lisa Kane
Transparent picks up right where Translucent ended. Blake Martin has been tricked into thinking Madden was picking her up when in reality she was being kidnapped by the Russian Mafia. She's way over her head in a world of trouble. Her captor, Raze is the grandson of Anatoli Kabinov, the head of the Russian mob. They have plans for her to flush out her ex father in law, Vincent Ricci. Of course her former in laws are looking for her for pay back for her killing her husband Ish. Just to remind you, Ish was one sick bastard. Not only did he abuse Blake, he raped and killed countless women and tortured lots just for fun. Blake was forced to give up her real identity as Bryleigh Carter Oliveira, otherwise known as the American Princess, go into the Witness Protection program and begin a whole new life. She thought she had finally found some peace and let down her guard when she fell in love with Madden Decker, the rich CEO of Decker Enterprises. But letting down her guard may just get her killed this time.
"Get ready, girl. You're about to become the most important pawn in the biggest mafia war this country has ever seen."
Raze is an interesting character. Raised to be a killer by his family, he fell in love with Darya Stoliyaski, who was the love of his life. He married her and they lived happily up until she was brutally raped and murdered by no other than Ish. Now he is out to finally avenge those he hates more than anything. But he seems to have formed a strange bond with Blake. He is aware of some of the terror she faced as Ish's wife and the fact that she killed the scum responsible for his wife's death doesn't hurt.
I was completely caught off guard to find myself wrapped in Raze's arms when I regained consciousness as he did his best to comfort me.
But this is a dangerous game he is playing. The Russians want Blake to do their dirty work for them.
Madden is desperately trying to find Blake. But he is making stupid mistakes along the way. Although he has figured out the puzzle of Blake's past, but questions if everything about their lives together is a lie or not.
My initial draw to her, the irresistible desire to take care of her, to absorb her darkness as my own. That's who I am as a lover. A guardian. A protector. I find my ultimate pleasure when she willingly gives me control of her body, mind, and soul, and allows me to free her from the demons that haunt her. Knowing she trusts me with all of her is the highest of highs.
And knowing I failed to keep her safe is the lowest of lows.
Transparent is full of intrigue and mystery and suspense. As with the first book, there is a ton of violence but you can't write about the mob without the seedier side being revealed. The twist to this one is the person you think you should hate-Raze is the one you end up loving. Living in that world promises to bring heartbreak and Transparent is no different. The ending is bittersweet. While the pieces of your heart are glued together, there will always be chips scattered on the floor.
5 Stars!
EPIC. BRILLIANT. GRITTY. REAL. RAW. SEXY. BEAUTIFUL. DARK. UGLY. SECRETS. LIES. SUSPENSE.
This book was amazing. Full of passionate embraces and intense moments, this book knocked me on my butt and pulled me through the emotional ringer good. I laughed in the book. I smiled. I swooned. I got angry. I cried. And I found my heart pumping fast at times. Once this book started with its ominous and totally intense prologue, this book never slowed down until the last word was written.
This is book two in the Luminous series and the completion to Bryleigh and Madden's story. This is not a standalone at all and the previous book, Translucent, should be read first. If you were like me, the ending of book one was such a crazy cliffhanger that I was begging for more, wanting answers. And now finally we get all the answers we have been wanting with this release. This book was shorter in length than book one but packed a serious punch and left me breathless by the end.
In book one we met Bryleigh, a broken girl who was a shell of the young girl she use to be. She had endured and suffered more than most and now she was finally finding happiness with Madden... only for it all to be ripped away once again. And then there was Madden... her knight and shining armor. A man who knows what he wants and is battling his own demons. He couldn't help but fall fast and hard for the sweet Bryleigh. Just as things were looking up for these two, Bryleigh's past came crashing back in, ruining everything.
This book picks up where book one left off. Bryleigh has been taken and Madden will do everything within his power to get her back, including risking his life. While Madden is searching for Bryleigh, other players come in to play that make you question everything you thought you learned in book one. And when a new man enters the picture, he will shake everything up. Who can Bryleigh trust? Will she ever be free of her past? Will she find redemption for past sins committed against her? And will Madden find Bryleigh or will he be too late? Get ready for a twisted ride that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end but I promise it will all be worth it.
I fell hard and fast for Madden in book one. He was sweet, sexy, sincere, compassionate, dominant, and the gentleness he had with Bryleigh spokes volumes to me. In this book, we really see him step up and do everything he can to get her back, including putting himself in danger over and over. We also have a new player in this book who intrigued me immensely. While he was dark and totally bad, he also had a light I could see in him that had me questioning myself sometimes about what I felt for him. And then there is sweet Bryleigh. I loved how her strength shone through in this book. She really stepped up and gave it her all, making me fall in love with her even more. I loved the ending because it was PERFECT in every possible way for this series.
I highly recommend this book and series!
I have been waiting for this book since the heart stopping conclusion to Translucent. And yes, you have to read the first book or you will be completely lost. Well, thank you Erin Noelle, because this was well worth the wait. Transparent gave me so much more than I thought I wanted. There was drama, sexiness and an all consuming intensity that had me flying through the pages.
Thankfully, this picks up right where Translucent leaves off. I was shocked right from the start at whodunit but the tale gets even more twisted from there. If I thought I loved Blake before, then I fell completely head over feet for her in this book. Her courage and bravery were out in full force. She knew what she was up against and she wasn't going down without a fight. But she also didn't shut down the good and kind side of herself either. Her loving spirit is evident in the relationship she forms with Raze. Oh that Raze- he was the atypical bad guy and I couldn't help but like him. Yes he was broody, brash and aggressive but he was also thoughtful and, surprisingly, compassionate. And in the end proved just how good a bad guy can be.
Now I can't leave out Madden. That man loves fiercely and with everything he has. I felt his devastation and bewilderment when he realized just how deep this thing with Blake went and just what he was up against. I mean wow- how he literally put himself on the line to try and get some answers and his woman back left me breathless. I loved his fearlessness and willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for the woman he loves. Though his relationship with his brother, Easton, was struggling, they found a way to see past their differences to try and find a way out of the mess. All their scheming paid off in a big way! Those stolen moments just melted my heart and gave me the hope for the happy ending that Blake and Madden so richly deserved.
In true Erin Noelle fashion, there was an unexpected twist that changed the course of everything. I couldn't read as fast as I wanted to to see how it would all play out.The final showdown had my heart pounding. I was there, breathless and nervous with anticipation and then with my jaw on the floor. Explosive is putting it mildly. Transparent took me to another world where down is up and back is sideways yet somehow it all works. And that ending it was such a brilliantly and perfectly fitting ending to Blake and Madden's story.
I was so excited to learn that Erin Noelle was writing the sequel to Translucent.
Translucent was an amazing first book, full of intriguing circumstances and the promise of what could only be a second book to rival the first.
Transparent did not let me down. From the first chapter to the end the book keeps you turning the pages and wanting so much more. The book is not only passionate in the storyline but in plot is so intricate with twists and turns that you devour this in one go, well I did.
The way Erin Noelle has written this sequel is nothing short of amazing. The writing is simply brilliant and you can feel every emotion, everything that these characters go through.
This book had my heart in my mouth on so many occasions but also had me crying with heartfelt sympathy as well as so much compassion for those involved in the intense storyline.
As this is the second book in the Luminous series, we are delved into a more sinister story of Bryleigh and Madden. Unfortunately for our brave, beautiful, Bryleigh her past catches up with her and our handsome, sexy Madden is left wondering what is going on and broken with everything that goes on in his world.
It was refreshing that from the beginning of this second book, we are given answers to some much needed questions and we meet some very interesting new characters, such as Raze whom at the beginning I hated but actually grew to like him, he actually did have a heart.
Bryleigh and Madden in book 1 have issues that they have to deal with and both have suffered in their lives but it is not until Transparent that Madden learns more about his lovely Blake (Bryleigh) and he loves her even more. I loved the strength that Bryleigh has in every situation she is in and in this book she just shows you how strong she is. Madden, well he is just my hero and he proves it in so many different ways and I loved that about him.
This book is full of amazing plots and great anticipation which you cannot help but get caught up in. You read and read until you get to the end and even then you are left with that feeling in your heart that all is what it should be.
***DO NOT READ THIS BOOK UNLESS YOU HAVE READ BOOK ONE IN THIS SERIES ***
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
You know when you read a book and you finish and you're just like :O - you have no idea how you're going to recover. That's what Translucent was for me. So when I got the chance to read Transparent I was fist pumping - well, maybe not literally but I was super excited. But I also knew Erin Noelle had a big challenge in front of her. The anticipation leading up to Transparent's release was not small, by any means.
I wanted resolution, I wanted to know about everyone's future, I wanted to get a better understanding of Blake's past, I wanted more of Madden and surprisingly Easton. But overall, I just wanted more of the Luminous duet.
I have learned that when Erin announces she's delivering a new book that she's truly going to deliver. That she's going to put her heart and soul into it and make it the best it can be, or she wouldn't dream of hitting publish. With Transparent, I feel she did that in spades. Yeah, it took a while for us to be able to have it in our hot little hands but now having read it I am so glad she waited. She created something beautiful and amazing.
Ok, so about the book. I won't give away anything. First, you need to read Translucent. If you haven't, Transparent will be confusing as hell and you won't get anything out of it. Now, if you've read it you know that Madden is a beautiful person. He is a master at reading, knowing, and understanding people at a deep level. He is a man in love. A man who is desperate for his sweet girl. Blake is such a wounded but strong person. She's lived through hell, risen from the ashes and discovered that she's more than just her past. She's incredible. Her strength and kindness are equally matched and we see it escalate in Transparent.
So much about this book I could say but I don't want to give anything away. I will say this, if you loved Translucent and have been anxiously awaiting Transparent - you won't be disappointed. Erin delivered what she promised. She had my heart racing, my eyes bugging out of my head then wet with tears and my skin alive with fever. I loved it. It was a roller coaster of a story but one I won't soon forget.
Wow. What a conclusion to an epic story! I am completely blown away. If you have not read Translucent then go and 1-click and finish it and then go 1-click Transparent because I kid you not, this is a freaking epic series.
The story starts with another heartbreaking bang. We learn about Raze, the man, his past and the mystery surrounding his sudden appearance. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Blake ran away from her horrendous and atrocious past. But she couldn’t run fast or far enough. There’s enough ugly in the world to drag you back to hell. And this hell might be the end for her after all. She finds herself almost right back where it all began or is it?
While Blake is figuring out where she stands, Madden is losing his mind for his beautiful girl. He has no clue where she is but he will stop at nothing to find out where she is or who took her. And when he finds out who the culprit is, may the Gods be with them because hell will seems like child’s play when he’s done with him. Madden sort of loses his mind in his quest to find Blake but he finds out more about her and the news opens his eye wide open about his gorgeous yet broken girlfriend.
And all this brings us to Raze, is he the culprit? Did he kidnap Blake for his own nefarious reasons? We soon learn the truth behind Blake’s disappearance and we are left gasping. Raze’s past and his quest for revenge makes total sense and I was rooting for him, like I was swooning left and right. I wanted to kill Ish even though he was dead, the guy deserves to die a million times and in painful ways. I won’t say anything else because you have to read this book to actually get the essence of the sheer epicness of the story. Sigh. I sighed, I cringed, I gasped, and I wept. Transparent was a beautiful story about revenge and making things right.
Will Blake survive a second time in the hands of the bad guy? And can you trust Raze no matter how swoony he really is? And will Madden be able to save his girl or will rescuing her take him that much closers to this own demise? To learn the truth 1-click this baby.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, abuse, murder, pain, nightmares, twists & turns, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Translucent (Luminous #1)
If you read book one you know Erin left us on the edge of our seat. This book picks up right were we left off. If you think Erin will let you up from the edge of your seat now that she has you seated you are wrong. You will be there for the entire book. So be prepared to get angry, smile, fall in love, cry, and cry again. If anyone can make you pull out all the emotions in her stories its Erin.
This is the conclusion of (Bryleigh) Blake and Madden’s story. It seems just as things were working out between Blake and Madden the unthinkable happens. Blake has been taken and she wonders be exactly who and what do they want. What will she have to do in order to get away? You get more flashbacks of Blake’s old life before she was on the run. You also meet a new man but you have to wonder what his motives are as to Blake and the things they want her to do. With her past comes for her Blake wonders if she will ever get to see Madden again. With Blake being held by someone and Madden out looking for her everywhere he can, he ends up getting himself in more and more trouble in the process. Can the love they share be the ones thing that makes them both fight for each other no matter what? Will the man who holds all the answers to how things will play out be the one Blake has to trust in? Will he be the downfall of everything or the hope of a new beginning?
I loved these characters and also the side characters Madden is in love and it show in all of his actions. He will do anything for Blake even if it means harm to himself. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
4.5 STARS FOR MADDEN DECKER !!!!!
Transparent is the follow up to Erin Noelle's Translucent which was a dark, gritty story following the lives of Blake and Madden.. Blake was past was all a mystery, one Madden had no clue of. After she disappears, he is trying every scenario to figure out where she went and what happened to her. After finding out about her past, Madden will stop at nothing to find his girl.
After being abducted, Blake has no idea where she is or who has her. But after meeting her captor (Raze), she quickly learns that her life is in serious danger. Her only chance of survival may be to face her past. The issue with that is, it will more than likely be writing her own death sentence... And it's not a chance she is willing to take.
This isn't my typical genre.. Dark and gritty make me squirmy but Erin Noelle's writing style NEVER disappoints. Her words flow so eloquently with a style that I only get from this author. She has a way to write EVERYthing in a classy way. Classy dark, classy sex, classy grit. I can't think of one other author that weaves every story the way Erin Noelle does.
If you read this first book in this duet- You're gonna want to get right on this one.. If you missed book 1 and you're looking for a darker read- these won't disappoint.
Madden Decker is all alpha sex and I love him for it... And the ending of this story is so special to me. Absolutely perfect in every way.
And Raze- he stole the show and stole my heart... I absolutely loved him throughout the book (even when you should be hating him)
DON'T MISS THIS BOOK! IT'S AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ OF 2015.
Transparent  by Erin Noelle is finally here and what a story it was, holy shit!!
In the previous  book, Translucent we learn Blake Martin aka Bryleigh Oliveria's story and all that she has had to endure after  removing  herself from her hurtful past. She is put into protective custody where she ends up meeting Madden Decker. An alpha male that goes for what he wants regardless. They become involved  and one thing leads to the next except  Blake  can't fully open herself up to him because of the fact that she's  living in protective custody. Madden finds a photograph  of her when she was younger and unfortunately  when he decides to take it, he has now made her a pawn.
"I don’t  know who has my Blake. I don’t know why they have my Blake. But I do know that my Blake isn't really Blake at all." -Madden
In Transparent, her past has come back to haunt her. We meet a new character, Raze. A ruthless  man that isn't afraid of anything or taking a life and that is just where Blake finds herself, in the hands of a killer.
"Get ready, Girl. You’re  about to become the most important  pawn in the biggest mafia war this country has ever seen. I have the ability to make you do things you'd never do, and now your traitor eyes have told me exactly who I need to hurt you to do them."-Raze
Now that Blake knows she has been abducted and thrown into a living nightmare she has to make the right decisions or she will not survive to see tomorrow.
Erin Noelle did a phenomenal job with the final book in the Luminous series!! It was action-packed  from the first page and I couldn't  wait to get to the end to see how it all played out!
This is book 2 of 2, so make sure you have read Translucent first or you will be lost when you read this.
Transparent picks up where Translucent ended in that horrible cliffhanger with Blake being kidnapped. Madden, Jae and Easton are determined to find out who has her and where she's being held. It doesn't take them long to discover Blake is in the witness protection program and they contact her handler with the FBI.
We meet a new character Raze, who even though he is Blake's kidnapper and is part of the Russian mob, he learn he hates the Italian mob that Blake's been running from as much as she does. Raze is a complicated man that I instantly liked and understand his reasons for what he was doing. I felt for him and wanted him to get a happy ending as much as I did Blake and Madden.
Madden steps up his game in this book and we fall even further for his character. He truly loves Blake and will do anything he can to get her back. He doesn't care about his safety or his life, only getting his Sweet Girl home. We see a different side of Blake in this book and watch as she comes to terms with his life and the events planned.
There are twists and turns. It was no surprise to me who was responsible and I felt that person received the punishment they deserved. This story is told from dual POVs and has an ending I think everyone will be happy with.
I could not wait to read this book. I was so ready for it, I have waited what I feel was forever for it.
What can I say... In the beginning I wasn't sure and by the end, I loved it.
The ending was perfect.
Madden Decker, I love him. I love their story.
Raze ... I feel they both held such a strong connection with Blake. When Raze held Blake after her bad dream... I knew right then that I was going to like him. Her past keeps reaching out for her and now she knows she must do whatever it takes to get out of this danger she is in.
Madden will do whatever it takes to get her back safe and sound in his arms. When he learns of her past he doesn't care, he just loves her.
She is his present ..she is his future.
From one event to another to page to page this book got my heart in the end.
I am so honored to have had the opportunity to read this book by Erin.
She has so much passion for each and every book she writes.
You will want to read Translucent if you haven't... to prepare you for Transparent.. Both Amazing Books.
You don't want to miss out get yours today !
I'm not even sure where to start. You end book 1 in tears (at least I did) so when I got book 2 I expected a roller coaster of emotions and I got just that. You have Blake taken away by the mafia she knows she’s in for a hard time having lived in that life and got out. It's not till she don’t show up at her boyfriend’s house Madden Decker is when he starts to worry. Little does he know how much trouble he is getting himself into by searching for Blake. She is being held hostage by Raze who amazingly isn’t like the rest of his mafia family because of a life event that happened to him he feels closeness to protect his "kotyonok." The things that are done in this book will no doubt surprise you but in the end you are left speechless with the events that take place. I loved every second of it wondering what was going to happen next cause it wasn’t something you could predict.
Must read Translucent first as this is book two in the series. I was lucky enough to recieve an advanced copy for an honest review. I've read everything that Erin Noelle has published. She can pull at your heartstrings like no other.
Madden Decker is successful, sexy and sinful. When he realizes that the woman he loves is in danger he will stop at nothing to get her back. When he is forced to view her tragic past it doesn't sway his feelings one bit. Madden throws himself right into danger to save his girl, but is he strong enough?
This book and series grips you from the first page and doesn't let you go until the last page. Even then, I was screaming for more. Erin has a way of writing strong relatable characters that you can't help but fall in love with. This series is without a doubt one of my favorites.
She did it again! I honestly don't know why I'm surprised...every time I pick up a book by Erin Noelle I know I'm going to love it! There is just something about Erin's writing that connects with me, the dialog is real and her characters flaws and all are real. Transparent picks up where the epic cliffhanger in Translucent left off and it keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end! Transparent introduces an additional lead male character Raze, you want to hate him but end up loving him and he gives Madden a run for his money in the contest of who is more swoon worthy. If you fell in love with Translucent you will NOT be disappointed in Transparent!
Romance and suspense? Ummm...YES please!! I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever! I must say the wait was definitely worth it! Transparent is full of suspense, passion, heartbreak, and just about every emotion you can think of. I love a story that catches your attention from Chapter 1, and continues until the very end. That is this book. After being left with a cliff hanger in Translucent, I needed some answers! Erin did not disappoint, and with a bittersweet ending that leaves you both heartbroken and fully satisfied at the same time! MUST read!
P.S. YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH RAZE!!!
I'm one of those readers that tends to slow my reading, or even put off reading a book for as long as possible when I know it's the final book in a series. That's what I did with Transparent. Erin Noelle had me biting my nails and cursing her name before I reached the half way point.
But, in true Erin Noelle fashion she redeemed my faith in her, by giving me the book I hoped for. Madden and Blake's story is unlike any other that Erin has written. And the conclusion of their story will keep you on the edge of your seat.
WOW what an amazing conclusion to this series. Erin Noelle, you have outdone yourself with these books, your writing is absolutely superb. The excitement and suspense was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't put it down. I am not going to spoil this for future readers but I just have to say that sometimes the bad guy can come good. Madden is no less delectable in this book and Blake is still as strong and wonderful. I wish I could award more than 5 stars as I think this series shoots into my all-time top 5! Well done Erin Noelle!!
So Transparent ended in a cliffy which had Blake kidnapped and this is the sequel to the story. I loved how the author gave us a little summary to Book 1 at the start. In this sequel Madden is out to get his girl back at all costs and along the way learns more about Blake and just who she really is and what has happened to her along the way. I loved Madden in the first book but the real hero for me in this one was Raze yeah who knew a russian mafia hitman would be!! While you don't get much of Blake and Madden together I think it was a great ending for the story.
