Expected 1 Jun 27From the author of the instant USA Today bestseller Bromantasy, a queer cozy standalone follow-up on the high seas featuring an underemployed mercenary, a wickedly hot pirate queen, and the mortifying ordeal of being known.
She’s after more than just the booty.
Rosa Imperatrice, ex-mercenary, ex-brawler, current basket weaver, got her happy instead of dying on the job, she peacefully retired with her best friends to an idyllic cottage by the sea. But her six meticulously crafted knives were made for stabbing, not trimming reeds. And it turns out even the best former mercenaries in the world can’t figure out laundry, chores, or how to keep the quiet life from being mind-numbingly boring.
When Rosa and her trusty but useless crow companion, Ignoto, decide to come out of retirement and take one last assignment for the crown, she expects wild nights of brawling, beating, and mayhem, just like the good old days. What she doesn’t expect is Gráinne O’Connor, thorn in the king’s side and Pirate Queen of the seven tall, broad, upsettingly hot, with a smirk that weakens Rosa’s knees and a shirt that’s never fully buttoned. It’s a shame that Rosa’s been hired to kill her.
But once Rosa infiltrates Gráinne’s ship, she can’t help but feel alive with the pirate’s tightknit crew and family they’ve built. As Rosa unravels secrets about both her own past and Gráinne’s, her traitorous heart makes what was supposed to be her spectacular return to adventuring an impossible choice. After all these years, it’s here on the seas and on this ship that Rosa finally feels at home. Is she really going to wreck it?
