A decent story, but unfortunately undermined by somewhat modern terminology and poor editing. Putting that aside, the novel includes several nice details about the 17th century life in general and Paris and the surrounding countryside as a setting - although one could hope for a few more. And while the story is simple, it has the makings of a fine adventure. I hope that the next novel will use a better proofreader so that the story gets the delivery that it deserves.

Lots of swash-buckling action in this historical page-turner. It needs a few minor editing improvements, but the tale is well told and the characters are finely drawn. A good read, worth the time you will invest in it.
