Hi, I'm Ryan! I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1980 and since then have written several books. You can read my Wikipedia page for more, or check out my author site at RyanNorth.ca!

I'm the author of the webcomic Dinosaur Comics (that's the comic where the pictures don't change but the words do, it's better than it sounds and I've also done crazy things like turn Shakespeare into a choose-your-own-path adventure, write a comic for Marvel about a girl with all the powers of a squirrel, or mess up walking my dog so badly it made the news.

I'm working on more stuff as we speak, hopefully it's good

I can totally see how hardcore spandex-heads would be turned off by this series, but personally, I think it's pretty damn amazing. This reminds me of knuckleheaded manga series with all the expressive facial expressions; the wide eyes, the lip biting, the ultra-extended limbs and extremities.

Highly enjoyable!

Go big or go home.

This comic is pure fun.

More often than not these type of D-list heroes get the shaft, they face off against obscure villains and are lucky if they get a chance to save their town let alone the world.

In this issue Squirrel Girl gets ready to face off against....Galactus! It doesn't get any bigger than that!

Oh and the best part...

If you aren't reading this series....then you are missing out!

Issue 2 puts Squirrel Girl in much more super-heroy circumstances with a mega big villain and stealing from Iron Man. Though it's Marvely, the story is still easy to follow with only a lose understanding of the Avengerverse. I'm gonna need SG to do some more with her acorn earrings, though, because that is the best part. Oh, and I'm in love with the squirrel bff and the roomie <3

Her heart, and her intentions, are all in the right place. Unfortunately, however, Squirrel Girl might do a few nefarious things to save the world. Which makes her highly entertaining. She's on a time limit (which we get to see counting down) to save the world and everything that can go wrong probably will. She comes off with such spunk and vigor though it's hard to dislike this ditzy Squirrel Girl.

I love Squirrel Girl! Unapologetically, unashamedly, the only superhero I really care about.

Read in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Vol. 1: Squirrel Power.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, aka Doreen Green, is a woman with the proportional speed and strength of a squirrel. In addition to her abilities to climb and jump, she's extra nimble and she can talk to squirrels. She uses these awesome abilities to fight crime with her squirrel sidekick, Tippy-Toe.

A quirky superhero. Silly and fun.

#2 in the series. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl finds out Galactus is heading toward Earth. She tries to find the best way to battle him before he reaches Earth, which leads to her needing to borrow Iron Man's suit.

I love Squirrel Girl and all its puns and fun and positive messages, as well as the sheer absurdity of it all! The creators use the Marvel Universe like a giant playground and the characters like cosplaying versions of themselves. So much awesomeness!

I would have given this five stars, but I don't like the alternate Squirrel Girl stories in here as much where they draw her like a typical female superhero with disproportionate body shape. Trying to have it both ways when they should just stick with the REAL SQ!

I’m a marvel fan. Since 1990. Love the universe with its many characters. Squirrel Girl paid tribute to sweet art style, fantastic characters and a new sister technology with power equivalent to that of adamantium steel, the unbeatable NuTs that continue to save the day! 5 stars for fandom. Worth the money

Again, having spoiled myself for this series by having listened to Unbeatable Radio Show, I feel like I picked up on clues with Tomas that weren't meant to be picked up on so clearly. But that's okay! Doreen is such a force to be reckoned with on her own -- not even as Squirrel Girl!

Everyone feels like they are the single worst person in the world at flirting, but here's Squirrel Girl, once again proving how exceptional she is: She's worse than all of us!! I <3 Squirrel Girl

The footnotes were fun in the first issue but I got a bit tired of them in this one

So much fun. :) My favorite part of this one was definitely when Loki was impersonating Cat Thor.

Doreen is trying to make some friends when something TERRIBLE happens. Galactus is coming! I'm not kidding, he is coming to Earth and only squirrels can see him. Supercool! I laugh so hard as I read this comic that before I finished it I want MORE! Probably my current favorite series from Marvel... and I love Thor and Rocket Raccoon very badly :P

AMAZEBALLS

There is no way Ryan North did not write this comic.

You know when a kid plays with a toy, and the kid is PUMPED because the toy is a dragon, and it can fly, and its their best friend, so they can tell it all their secrets, and it can breathe fire, but its a robot so it helps them with their homework and can play videogames and its also a firetruck with laser beams for wheels? This comic is that kid playing with that toy, and its glorious.

What can I say. It's a comic book series about a girl with the proportional strength of a squirrel. She's unbeatable. And she's taking on Galactus.
As far as the artwork goes, I'm positively impressed. She's nothing like your run-of-the-mill female superheroes: She has a fairly normal body-shape. Well, and a big bushy tail. If you're looking for a female comic hero for your kid or yourself, give this a shot. It's this, or the 2014 re-birth of Ms. Marvel. :)

Doreen is amazing. I know some people might find her misadventures at college boring, but I actually wish we saw even more of them! Only criticism about this issue is that I'm already sick of the footnotes.

Just as good as the first book. The character is funny and original. She is not super sexualized. They introduce nee characters that make the comic 100 times better, and I did not think that was possible.

Squirrels help steal Iron Man's armor, and one of them gets to wear the helmet and a glove as a miniature flight suit. This may be the greatest comic series ever.

I adore Doreen Green as Squirrel Girl. I want to find all her past appearances and read them, but Ryan North's writing and Erica Henderson's great artwork really make this series unbeatable.
