I really loved this one. It was messy, emotional, and just felt very real.
I loved Bea and watching her try to figure out what she actually wanted for herself. There was so much going on with grief, love, family, and all the what-ifs, and somehow it all worked.
I also loved that I really didn’t know where the story was going. It kept me guessing and definitely made me feel a lot.
Such a beautiful read and easily 5 stars for me.

I honestly don’t think I can put into words how much this book moved me. This is the first book that has ever brought me to tears, and I think that says so much about how beautifully written and emotionally impactful it was.
Bea quickly became a character I really connected with and I love that she grew as a character but stayed true to herself til the very end. I genuinely enjoyed all of the characters throughout the story. The relationship between Bea and Theo was particularly special to me, and I found myself connecting with it on a personal level, which made certain moments in the story hit even harder.
One thing I really loved was that I genuinely couldn’t predict how the story was going to end. I had no idea where it was taking me, and I really enjoyed that sense of uncertainty. I found myself getting completely absorbed in the story without it ever feeling rushed.
Charley has created something that is beautifully written, heartfelt and incredibly moving.
I would absolutely recommend What Comes After Almost to friends and family, and I’m so grateful to Charley for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC. It was such a privilege to experience this story early.
I cant wait to see what else Charley has lined up in the future! ❤️📖

4.25⭐️ tiny dash 🌶 3😭
Okay, I loved this book! I resonated with it so much. I didn’t realize how many of the little moments would affect me or give me a different perspective on grief until I read this story.
First, I want to thank the author for this opportunity, but also for what felt like her holding my hand through my own difficult time as I navigated her beautiful book.
It took me a little longer than usual to finish this one for personal reasons. So much of it was relatable, which made certain moments feel especially heavy and emotional. At times, I needed to step away and take a break.
Bea is caught in a world of grief while trying to live her life according to the expectations of others. As she struggles to find her way, Ezra, Nate, and Theo quickly become caught in the crossfire of something no one wants to acknowledge.
Through some incredibly difficult decisions and with the support of an absolute gem of a best friend, Albie, Bea finds the strength to choose her own path. What a beautiful, emotional, and wonderfully messy story this was!
Sometimes, we have to make our way through the messiness of life before we can discover our true purpose.

This was a really good book. I had a great time with these characters and watch Bea grow throughout the book. The pacing was a little off for me but it didn’t take away from the story. I found the love arrow (if that’s the right phrase because she had options) to be very interesting. The forced relationship along side everything else going on in her life made for a very enjoyable read. It was a great time and I would definitely recommend reading it. I would be careful if you are triggered by losing a parent though because there is in depth discussions of it.

What Comes After Almost was so beautifully written and SO messy, but in the best way.
There’s so much in here about love and all the different forms it can take. Almost loves, the people you could have chosen, the different lives you could have lived. There’s also so much grief, with different people grieving different things and dealing with it in completely different ways.
Bea enters into a fake relationship to prove she’s mature enough to inherit the family company, but then there’s Ezra and Nate, two very different almost-loves, and I genuinely had no idea where any of it was going.
I loved that nothing felt particularly neat or linear. There’s family, legacy, business vs personal decisions and a LOT of complicated feelings.
But mostly I loved watching Bea figure herself out, make her decisions and actually own them.
Messy love, messy grief, messy people. This one really made me feel a lot a lot a lot.

Loved this story. Bea is a walking catastrophe trying to do right by everyone else except herself and we find ourselves following along as she navigates through loss, corporate life and her complicated personal life.
To me it felt like a woman finally finding herself after searching her whole life. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. It kept me guessing right until the end.
I loved the connections Bea forms with each character and how they feel real from the moment you meet them on page.
Nate and Theo are reliable and adorable and Ezra is the eye in Bea's storm. Alfie is the best friend everyone needs in their life and I'm low-key bummed he doesn't exist in real life. :)
A must read for anyone looking for a romance book that's not all spice, no plot.

Overall, this was a really good read! If you’re looking for a romance that gives you more than just spice—something with character growth, complicated relationships, grief, healing, friendships, and a woman learning to choose herself—definitely add this one to your TBR.
