As much as I did not vibe with book 2 in this series, book 3 pulled me right back in and has tied me up so I can't escape. I love the subtle complexities of this series and it's never shined more than in the two parts of book 3. I am sat for these next 2 installments and will ride or die for these women!

Mercy is so unapologetically herself even in her shame. I would fight someone for this fictional character. 😂 And Cisco is written so well that his tension bleeds off the page. His perpetual state of fight and his struggle with what he knows is coming vs what in his mind is the right thing, just perfectly plotted.

You do have to have a decent countenance for this series though because there are gross parts and some rough imagery particularly around religion. But it's so different and almost feels like a genre of it's own.

Wow. Just wow. This book had everything I didn’t know I wanted. The tension, both in the plot as they race to try to prevent famine from entering the world and between the main characters, is next level. Cisco and Mercy end up in Italy as an excuse to get in the Vatican to find the rest of Mercy’s relic. While there, Cisco’s beast comes out in response to all the sin in the Vatican and he kills a bunch of people. They’re helped by a true friend who happens to be a cardinal and surprisingly Asmodeus. Sidebar: the demon critters keep getting cuter! Things get complicated when they see Cisco’s family where he learns that his family was originally given the curse of Cain where every generation, one sibling is given the cursed power to sense sin and the other is meant to be the balancing sacrifice. Cisco thought he was the cursed and his sister who died when they were kids was the sacrifice. Turns out the opposite was true and he accidentally stole her power. Surprise! It’s another sinner, Hannah who was his sister. She was truly a hero in the end. Mercy’s connection and understanding of what it means to be truly merciful is the deepest part of this book. Her and Cisco’s rebirth was special. That ending though…. seriously?! Raven?! Really?!

On a less serious note, do not read this in public unless you have a great poker face! I was totally here for the sexual tension that broke spectacularly. I love how Cisco just embraced all of Mercy’s sexuality and did everything he could to show her that he didn’t want to change anything about her. It was soooo thoughtful of him to bring her toys along to Italy!

Spicy And A Happy Ending

I am reading this as an ARC read for my honest review. Recommend reading the last two books of this series; as this is part 2, read part 1. It’s semi important as characters remain the same but also important to understand the over arching theme: the apocalypse approaches and the Horseman are ever present. This gets spicy! And a HEA, and a cliffhanger for the next book.

Mercy is our lead female character. Strong woman, lead warrior of the Sinners and has to fly off to Rome to fix the arcane weapon. This mission is to be completed with Cisco, who is her fated Saint. But part 1 left off on an important cliffhanger! Cisco killing Jasmine, Hannah disappeared, and Cisco’s secret revealed.

Cisco. The priest. A Saint. And he has something of a secret (he’s a demon? Maybe?). It’s possible he is the Horseman Mercy is set to save the world from. Or is he? You’ll get your answer if you read it!

A dynamic duo who complement each other’s personalities. I’m here for it. Love this. My favorite two so far in the series as a whole (it may change if I catching on to the ship right). We have additional characters and dynamics that need explaining! Spicy spicy. Mercy has a zero nonsense about her views on the world. She accepts that about herself and doesn’t apologize. I love that. Cisco finally gets vulnerable, and gets back in the saddle….yum!

Hi! I will definitely add this to my re-read list for future reading. It was so good! If you like a sultry forbidden romance with a priest. Spicy that does not disappoint. Demons, apocalypse, woman hero…

Part 2

I am freaking loving this series, part one lay down the ground work and it got us all intrigued with Cisco and Mercy. In part 2 we get the backstory for both of them and let me tell you, they are not what I expected. They are sooo much more and perfect for our Sinner and Priest.
I love Mercy and her unwavering way of just making the best of a situation regardless of what's happening. But like most people they need some one to confied in, someone to be truthful with and she slowly confieds with Cisco.
While "Padre" Cisco is dealing with his darkness, he is also dealing with his feelings for Mecericordia (Mercy). The trip to the Vatican was supposed to answer some questions about the apocalypse... what it did, was bring more questions and unexplained Frescos, it also brought out the Darkness from Cisco, and it is not just to feed on evil but also it has lust, and Mercy is his infatuation for the Darkness.

The chemistry between them is sooo hot, charged with want and guilt, but once they give in and show up for each other, they really will do anything for the other, even burn.

I really loved Cisco's darkness, the single minded purpose to consume Mercy was sooo hot. And Mercy!! That woman can hold her breath for 6+ minutes and Cisco took full advantage of that. 😈😍🩲🫠 Did I mention he was a complete beast when it came to giving Mercy what she needed and craved.
Yeah totally fanning myself here.

I swear I can't wait for the next book, I love all of Lana's series they suck me in and don't let go, and this one is no different.

If Part I of this duet was centered around Mercy and Cisco admitting there was more than attraction between them, then Part II was about them facing their pasts and trusting each other with their happiness and future. We got to see more of their pasts and the people that formed their fears and insecurities, and my heart broke for what they have survived. Cisco especially was forced to face his demons and deep-rooted guilt head-on, but I loved how both Mercy and Cisco were able to lean on each other when they couldn't move forward alone. Asmodeus was a surprise character that I didn't expect to like, but his grumpy-about-life-and-human-feelings demeanor was hard not to sympathize with. The ending was emotional and thrilling, and it left me desperate for answers and ready for more of Dom and Raven🖤

Part one of this story was so good; part two is just as good and brings so much more insight not only into Cisco and Mercy personally but also into the prophecy. Cisco and Mercy's journey to the Vatican raises more questions and gives us a better understanding of the prophecy between them. You get to meet Cisco's family and get better acquainted with his dual sides. You'll also discover Mercy is so much more than we believe her to be, while finding that the love, steamy sex, and acceptance between her and Cisco balance them both. Once you start this journey with the Sinner and the Priest, there will be no stepping off until the conclusion. We also get an interesting look at the beginning of what may be the next sinner story.

Review for ARC of Part 2, generously given by the author.

The pace gets MUCH faster in part 2 and the unveiling (haha yes that’s a thing) of Cisco and Mercy’s back stories is done perfectly. Of course they are there for each other and there are miracles and kisses - and more. The resolution is spot on, complete with foreshadowing of the remaining Sinners stories. I found myself turning pages so fast, gripped by the story, that I’m going to need to re read now that both parts are out.

Folks - it’s worth reading this, even though it’s a long book.

I absolutely loved this one! It had the perfect balance of supernatural, spice and kick-assery. Mercy and Cisco’s relationship continues to evolve in such a great way, with them learning to embrace each other, and themselves,for all that they are, all that they’re not and loving it all!

The story progresses really well, with some unexpected twists and turns that kept me hooked. There’s delicious spice, some cheeky character pop-ins, and plenty to keep things interesting.

A Priest and a sinner walk into a bar. Kidding! This book was part 2 of this character arc. We pick back up with Mercy (a Sinner who's down for fun) and Cisco (a Priest who has a dark side curse) The tension and chemistry between the two is amazing. I flew through these pages as they battled good vs evil and came out on top. Great development of these characters as they find their true selves. I sometimes find books that are heavy on the religion tedious but Lana did a great job of writing an emerging world without beating you over the head with religion. Over all 5 stars!

Part 2 of 2 picks right up where part 1 left off, if you read them back to back it reads as one book. Mercy and Cisco go through a lot together with their family histories and the prophecy. Some bombshells were dropped and were some big ones. We do get that HEA for Mercy and Cisco with hints to what the next couple will be in the next book. What I want to know is does Asmodeus have a thing for Tawny, and will that be a story? I'd be interested in that for sure!

I voluntarily read an ARC for this book. Finally, we get the second half of Cisco and Mercy’s story, it was great to see them in a different environment than just the abbey. They work so well together and it was great to see them grow closer together. The ending I didn’t see coming and leaves so many questions that I can’t wait for the next book.

Full of Suspense

The Sinner and the Priest: Part Two is book 4 of Lana Pecherczyk's The Sinner Sisterhood series. This one is full of suspense. With evil trying to take over the world will the Saints and the Sinners be able to figure out the prophecy to stop them? The cross of religion and mythology this series has so much to offer. Can't wait to see what happens next.

These two are fire.


This story was fast paced and packed full of action. While Mercy and Cisco are definitely working together and figuring out how to be together, there was still some personal issues to work through. All while chasing demons and relics and corruption through Italy. And after an insane battle with fire and brimstone, they are very much a close unit, but the world is still in peril. That ending. I can’t wait for the next one.

Wow…what a ride! This was an amazing adventure of finding one’s self, and finding truth and love. There is a lot of healing in this story for Mercy and Cisco. I didn’t see the twist coming at the end. Great story!
