Huron: Descendants

Rate this book
The advancement of warp technology combined with feasible human stasis opens the door for humans to venture beyond Earth’s solar system out into the universe. Three hundred years of exploring the universe has not ever encountered sentient alien life. The dream of colonizing other planets fades within a hundred years when Goldilocks planets remain elusive. The only benefit that resulted from the exploration of the universe was making corporations lots of money. Lots of money. In the early days of discovering warp technology a colonist ship was the forerunner to go out in search of a Goldilocks planet to colonize and promptly vanished. Now they have been found. UN Ambassador Chin Fergerson is on the first UN ship to Huron to bring the descendants into the UN’s embrace. Three hundred years separation from Earth has created a rift and no desire of the descendants to return Earth’s embrace. Survival of the colonists meant stepping over a moral line, a line the descendants continue to cross for their continued survival. As Ambassador Chin Fergerson struggles to negotiate with the descendants she discovers a secret so dark that it threatens to destroy her. Lies and secrets hide the chilling truth until it is too late. It is not only the descendants hiding the truth. The UN has its own lies and secrets that they don’t want discovered.
