WARNING: Contains sexually explicit scenes and a healthy dose of sarcasm.

Adam 'Jenks' Jenkins' carefree life as a small-time private investigator is about to get very complicated. There's something 'off' about his new client, but work is hard to come by in the Welsh town of Llanrhos, and the return is far above his usual paygrade. Jenks' sanity is tested as the case drags him ever deeper into the dangerous world of Veronica Tailor, where blackmail, seduction and threats of violence run rife. Even his home life is affected as his wife's obsession with Veronica sends her libido into overdrive.
Will Jenks ever solve the case?
Will his wife become a lesbian?

Adam ‘Jenks’ Jenkins is a small-time priviate investigator, operating out of the Welsh coastal town of Llanrhos. Big cases are hard to come by so when he’s called upon to retrive some compromising photographs, he leaps at the chance. When he then discovers that he’s to get them from the stunningly attractive Veronica Tailor, who has a penchant for exhibitionism, things start to heat up. As his involvement with Veronica gets kinkier, so his home-life is affected when his wife, Kate, follows the case and finds her libido going into overdrive. I like crime fiction and I like erotica and, surprisingly, this melds the two together well, with a decent central mystery and a great deal of raunch, along with a healthy dose of sarcastic humour. Jenks is a great creation, in over his head but treading water like a madman, he finds himself in the middle of a case that involves blackmail, seduction and threats of violence, plus levels of eroticism he’s never known before. Dedicated to his wife - and their relationship is superbly drawn, with Kate a very strong character in her own right - but bewitched by the temptress Veronica - think Kathleen Turner’s Matty Walker, from ‘Body Heat’, ramped up to 11 - he doesn’t know which way to turn and really only wants to grab some sleep. Smith uses his minimal locations well, all of them slightly seedy however well maintained and his ear for dialogue, especially the zing of Jenks and the pared-back command of Veronica, is very good. Of course, an erotic novel stands-or-falls by its heat and “Peeper” never disappoints, being as rude and lewd as you could possibly want and keeping everything believable, even as the plot tumbles from double-to-triple cross. Tightly constructed and with a dashing pace, this raunchy thriller is a great read and I’d highly recommend it. And as the first release from Sinful Press, it marks them out as a publisher to watch too.

Peeper was not what I expected in the best way. With its debut publication, Sinful Press has set a high standard not only in terms of producing a work of quality erotica but also in originality. Adam ‘Jenks’ Jenkins is an amateur private investigator who takes on a case from the mysterious Mr Evans. The latter is being blackmailed by the stunning Veronica, a young woman with a habit of getting undressed with the curtains open. Before long, Jenks finds himself in over his head as he tries to get to the truth and satisfy his lust for Veronica as well as his love for his wife.
I believe that Peeper could be the first in a new sub-genre of erotica; let’s call it a sticky mystery and I do not mean that to demean it in any way. The story delivers a layered mystery narrative with plenty of drama and well-rounded characters as well as serving up well-crafted sex scenes that will get you hot under the collar – and even a few reflective sections on some of the characters’ personal deviancies. There’s something in Peeper for every one and though the sex is shown from the position of the male gaze, this fits entirely with the naturalistic style of the prose and realistic portrayal of the characters’ world.
Try Peeper if you are looking for something different and original which does not insult your intelligence but never forgets to have fun.

Peeper, by S.J. Smith, is the first book to come out from Sinful Press, which is a small, independent publisher. And books like this are why I like small, independent publishers. Peeper is erotica, but unlike the flooded BDSM market, this book caters more to male fantasies, and unusual ones at that. It is written in the first person and the main character, Jenks, who, although he very much loves his wife, finds himself in some unusual situations with a woman named Veronica who can't seem to keep her windows closed. With Jenks, Smith is able to pull off something difficult. Jenks is a lovable everyman. He is described very little physically, but the reader gets to know him (and his kinks) quite well, and all the while the plot is kept interesting and moving along even with an increasing number of sex scenes towards the end. Smith has a great writing style that had me immediately involved with the characters and their world. Peeper is filled with humor and doesn't take itself too seriously, which is why I think women will enjoy this one as much as men. Smith is a skilled author and I can't wait to see what he comes out with next.

The first release by Sinful Press UK, Peeper focuses on Jenks, a private detective who is hired by a married man who is being blackmailed by a beautiful woman after he spends the night with her in a hotel.

The first thing you'll notice when you crack open Peeper is that Jenks is a very likable guy who tries his hardest to stay faithful to his wife, despite being seduced by the beautiful Veronica. Veronica can't keep her curtains closed and as Jenks does a stakeout in front of her home, he sees more than he bargained for.

The next thing you'll notice in Peeper is that despite being erotica, it has an actual plot and the sex scenes located within its pages are necessary to the story. Many erotica novels can't pull that off.

I liked this book, despite erotica not being my first choice of reading material. However, I only gave it four stars because I didn't like the ending. I won't ruin it for you here, and although the ending came as a complete surprise, which is a good thing, I thought it was a little silly.

That said, overall, Peeper was very well written and because of the characters, kept me glued to the pages so much that I read it all in one sitting. Peeper will appeal to both men and women and is not your typical erotic story. S.J. Smith has a talent for weaving an enthralling tale with colorful characters, and I'm interested in seeing what's next from this author.

What a pleasant surprise! A mystery story with an erotica touch that actually has a great plot! Jenks is a private investigator who gets into a case that is over his head. Mr. Evans, Jenks client, is involved in a tangled web the leads Jenks to the beautiful, Veronica. The woman who not only drives him crazy with desire, but with her business dealings. Jenks tries to balance his case, his lovely wife Kate and Veronica in this interesting weave of deceit and sex and mystery that makes this a fun book to read.

Highly sexual book

A real page Turner. A married couple trying to get their life going. One is in college while the other is trying to take off as a PI. He finally gets a break and lands himself a case of a wealthy man that has been blackmailed by a beautiful woman. To only be swindled by the wealthy man. He then flips sides and works for the woman. In the end the truth comes out in a highly sexual interest.

If you have a novel published by an organization called Sinful Press, what kind of novel would you expect? So, there is probably going to be a lot of weird, kinky sex (whatever that means). I found most of the things described graphically to be pretty normal, but that says more about me than the book. For the true prudes out there, you have been warned. After the internet, are there any of those types of folks left?

Jenks is a private detective. Whether he is good at it or not, we might find out by reading the book. We can discover early on that he is not a very motivated networker (487 business cards left out of 500). He has a new client who is being blackmailed with photos of an “accidental” sex tryst. Veronica had pictures taken; she wants money. Client Evans wants Jenks to find Veronica, get the photos, and solve Evan’s family problems. Sounds normal.

Before setting out, Jenks returns home to tell Kate. Throughout the novel Jenks will touch base with Kate. He touches a lot more. There is mutual base touching; the story progresses as Kate suggests increasingly more creative sex.

But, off to work. He finds Veronica using all his surveillance skills. But the job is to get the photos, so he follows her home and watches her from a strategic place outside her home. He wants to know where the photos are; that she appears in a window almost nude, then completely nude, and finally nude while going through various erotic poses, these are the strains and challenges of the job.

Inevitably, they meet. His real objective, the photos is exposed, as are all the characters in the novel at one point or another. Veronica strings Jenks along in ways reminiscent of high school teenage sexual encounters.

Everybody reaches their goals eventually. Jenks gets Veronica, and Kate. Kate gets Jenks and Veronica. Photos are obtained. That all of this happens is 1) not a surprise and 2) not a spoiler.

There are surprises which make the novel fun to read. First, SJ Smith is funny and clever as he writes of the daily travails of Jenks. This is a fun book to read. Second, the smut (Smith uses the word in his author description) is tastefully done. Pun intended. It is just another sex variation described graphically, frequently, and with humor.

I am going to look for another SJ Smith book. Definitely a way to break the daily routine.

Hmmm... where to begin? I guess I should start by saying that this book absolutely rocked! I'm no stranger to sexually explicit books, or smut books, so the nature of the story was nothing new. However, what was new was the voice of the book, the story line, and the narrator of the book.

The book is written and narrated from a male's POV and I loved it. There was a sense of something new and fresh, for me. This wasn't a love story in the sense of falling deeply in love, but it was a love story nonetheless. I loved how there was no fluff built up around the sex scenes. No "as I looked into the deep blue pools of his eyes, I fell deeper under his spell as he plunged his manhood into me" type stuff. This story was raw and filthy good.

Of course, it wasn't just sex, which is probably my favorite part of the story. There was substance to the book, the sex was just a hazard of the job as the main character set out to solve a mystery brought to him from a client. Jenks, the main character, sets out to prove to himself that he is a damned good private investigator when he gets a job he can't refuse. With the help and encouragement of his wife, Jenks solves this mystery while going on the wildest ride of his life.

Do I recommend this story? Yes, I do! Before you do, forget all other smut books you've read because this is not your run of the mill smut story. This one will take you on an explicit ride that you won't forget.
