Two years ago, Bailey Adams broke off her engagement to Danny Maxwell and fled Logan Point for the mission field in Chihuahua, Mexico. Now she's about to return home to the States, but there's just one problem. After Bailey meets with the uncle of one of the mission children in the city, she barely escapes a sudden danger. Now she's on the run--she just doesn't know from whom. To make matters worse, people who help her along the way find themselves in danger too--including Danny. Who is after her? Will they ever let up? And in the midst of the chaos, can Bailey keep herself from falling in love with her rescuer all over again?

Silence in the Dark was a nice addition to the Logan Point series. It was not my favorite it the series, yet I enjoyed it. The story can stand alone, however, the suspense plot of this book is tied to book three in the series and is a continuation on one of the storylines in that novel.
I have to admit that I figured out the villains very early on in the book, however, I still enjoyed reading Silence in the Dark. I liked watching as the romance began to bloom again between Danny and Bailey. The questions that both of them posed about God led to meaningful discussions and decisions about their beliefs.
Angel was a favorite character of mine. Watching his story unfold and seeing where it took him was especially nice. I really wanted to see more of the characters from the previous books and find out a bit more about how life was treating them. That would have made the book for me and would have helped me feel a sense of completion with these stories. But, overall a good, suspenseful read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked this final book in the series. It was action packed full of suspense and drug cartels. I enjoyed Bailey and Danny’s journey and loved the supporting characters Selana and Angel and Maria was just adorable.
The narrator did a great job of providing an entertaining story and she did a great job with all the Mexican accents.
I did guess the boss of the cartel’s correctly so that want such a surprise.
I also really enjoyed Danny’s walk in his faith and how Bailey used Job to give him clues during a very suspenseful time in the story.
Great series and I will definitely read more books by this author.
Two years ago Bailey Adams broke off her engagement and fled to Mexico to be a missionary. Now, she's returning home as an escort for one of her students. But when she meets the child's uncle, nothing prepares her for being shot at. She soon realizes that a drug cartel is after both her and the little girl. Not knowing who she can trust, Bailey turns in desperation to Danny Maxwell, her former fiance. Danny's never stopped loving her, and will do anything to win her back. Even if it means putting his own life in danger to see to the safety of both Bailey and the little girl. But the danger follows them back to Logan Point. Can Danny keep Bailey safe when someone wants to kill her? And can Bailey admit why she broke the engagement and take another chance on Danny?
This was a very fast paced book, like the others in the series. It helps to have read the others first, but it isn't necessary.
My favorite character was the little girl. She was a doll. And I loved how everyone wanted to protect her.
The romance between Bailey and Danny felt a bit stiff, but I was ok with that. As the fast pace of the story kept me turning pages. I did come to like Bailey as I didn't really like her much at first.
I enjoyed Danny. I loved how he wasn't willing to let Bailey go.
Overall, this was good book, and a good conclusion to the series.
I received this book for free from Revell for the purpose of reviewing. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
Recommended to fans of Lisa Harris, Irene Hannon, Lynette Eason, romantic suspense.
Emotional rating on this one...I just really enjoyed the whole story, and the peril felt very real. It was hard to put it down for any reason, and I only did so once because I had to. I felt like I was there in the peril and I loved all the features with the MCs from the previous books in the series. The danger and action scenes kept my attention easily all the way to the end...a child in peril from a gang is always a plot that catches my attention. Add in a second-chance romance and it’s easy to root for the MCs. I also have a definite weak spot for when the family of someone endangered comes out to their defense like a hill of maddened ants and you just know the bad guys have got to lose. However, these bad guys were very twisty, and I kept wondering how many good guys were going to die along the way....
I fell in love with Patricia Bradley's writing when I read the first book in this series! I also fell in love with the characters and the town of Logan Point Mississippi, which really is another character! Even though I don't think I had 'met' Bailey prior to this book, I really enjoyed her and Danny's story! When I realized that unlike the three previous books neither of the main characters had a direct connection with law enforcement I must admit that I was nervous that the book might be lacking in suspense, I am absolutely delighted to say that that was most definitely not the case, the suspense was so crazy and good, it kept me turning the pages! I have to say that I found myself relating to Bailey quite a lot and I thought she was a great character! Danny was great too! I loved little Maria, as well as the sub plot that centered around Angel and Solana! I loved that in a way the plot of this book was actually a continuation of the plot from the second book, I loved that and I was so happy to finally see that mystery solved! Overall, while this isn't my favorite of the series I still really loved it. There are two reasons why I am giving it four stars instead of five, first of all, even though we got to see Ben (The hero from the second book) quite a lot and we saw a couple of other characters from the previous books once or twice, I guess since it was the last book I was hoping for some kind of reunion type of scene where we saw all the characters get together for some kind of celebration or something and I guess I was just a little bit disappointed that that didn't happen. The other reason is that the very ending felt a little unfinished to me, I would have really liked an epilogue just because I wanted to keep reading! I highly recommend this book and the entire series, each book can standalone but I would recommend reading them in order! Patricia Bradley has a permanent spot on my list of all time favorite suspense authors and I can't wait to read anything and everything that she writes in the future!
I was honored to receive a review copy of this amazing book from Revell publishers in exchange for my honest review!
I love the Logan’s Point series by Patricia Bradley!! The fast-paced suspense, the characters, the light romance – it keeps you invested in the story and on the edge of your seat.
Silence in the Dark takes some of this intense action to Mexico before bringing it back home to Logan’s Point, Mississippi. But just because the scenery changes to something more familiar, it doesn’t mean that the danger lessens or that you can relax. Because you really shouldn’t. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, something would happen to put the slightest bit of doubt in my mind & this kept me second-guessing until the end.
When they’re not running from the drug cartel or trying to figure out who else might be trying to kidnap them, Bailey and her young charge Maria must decide who to trust. And in so doing, Bailey has to decide whether she can open her heart again to both her former fiance and to God. Here, the author lets her characters wrestle with real issues that don’t have easy answers – like why doesn’t God always answer our prayers the way we want Him to… especially when the alternative is tragedy or suffering.
Bottom Line: While this isn’t my favorite of the Logan’s Point series, it is most certainly an enjoyable read! Fast-paced suspense, sweet romance, and likable characters will hold you captive until you’ve finished the last word. Silence in the Dark can be read as a stand-alone if you wish, though I would recommend going back and starting from the beginning of the series so you can better appreciate the setting and the characters. Patricia Bradley consistently writes good fiction, and Silence in the Dark is yet another example!
(I received a copy of this book in exchange for only my honest review.)
This was a nice finale to the Logan Point series. It had plenty of excitement and suspenseful moments and kept me guessing as to how it would all play out. Maria was an adorable character addition. Good story!
From the moment you turn the first page to the end, you will find each of these people looking over their shoulder, who is the evil one and whom can they trust. After her ending her quick engagement of one night Baily Adams flees to Chihuahua, Mexico, and when this story begins we are about to return to the States for a visit. While in Mexico, you can see that God placed her there, and she was following His will. She runs into an evil shaman, who claims to be a priest, who does many things to run her out, and have her stop having the natives follow the bible. When Bailey returns she is given into her care a precocious four-year-old Maria Montoya, and you will wonder why. When she and Marie become a target, you will be surprised who comes to her rescue, again and again. Then there is also Angel Guerraro, and is he a person to put your trust in, or is he part of the Cartel. Such evil abounds, and just whom do you trust, and are you making the right decision when you do. Loved how bible verses are used here as clues to their where about when kidnapped. Can you imagine having to carry kidnap insurance, seems to be a common practice in Mexico. Come and enjoy a great roller coaster ride, and hope the ones we start to care about, come out on top. I received this book through the Revell Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
The complexity of this story delighted me through every chapter. It was great to hop from Mexico to the United States and back within the plot. The journey felt organic and realistic.
Plot was a strength of this book. From the drug cartel to the kidnappings to the romance, everything worked well to create an entertaining story that kept me guessing and interested until the final word. The characters were engaging and well written, and each one grew in their own ways.
One thing that struck me as really odd was that the leading man, who had seemed tough and unafraid of using weapons and facing drug lords, thought that “hiking with a rifle was harder than he’d expected.” The hike wasn’t very long, maybe a mile, and a rifle wouldn’t be any more unwieldy than a walking stick, hiking poles, or a heavy backpack, all of which are normal hiking equipment. Granted, a rifle isn’t always a normal thing to take on a hike, but this just felt off to me. I’ve been on many a trek while on vacations, and carrying a stick for protection was never awkward or heavy or hard. I don’t think carrying a rifle would be that much different, so this felt like a very strange comment for this really tough guy to think after such a short trek, especially since he ought to have been more concerned about the people he was going to rescue than how uncomfortable he apparently was with carrying this weapon.
While this issue gave me a moment of pause and unbelief, it was not enough to dampen my enjoyment of this story. I loved it just as much as the previous one, Gone Without a Trace, in the Logan Point quartet. This was definitely a wonderful finale to the series. I’m glad to have spent the past two days with Bailey and Danny as they fought to keep a little girl safe from harm.
This is the final book of the Logan Point Series and Patricia Bradley wraps it up with lots of nail biting suspense. This book is all about forgiveness and the love of God for his children and our trust that God is there and cares about us in the time of trouble and even danger. Bailey and Danny are trying to work out their relationship after a broken engagement and what she feels that God’s calling on her life to be a Missionary to Mexico will mean to them. All while trying to keep 4 year old Maria safe and running and hiding from kidnappers. This one will keep you enthralled to the last page. Don’t miss this series. All 4 books are great.
What a ride. This is the fourth in a series and I have loved this series. Even is a couple of things are predictable, the journey is an edge of your seat intense. It's over three hundred pages and it flew by. Not knowing who exactly to trust is part of the intensity. I do not know if there are more in the series but at the moment this is the last one and it was worth it for me to read.
SILENCE IN THE DARK is fast paced suspense at its best
Bailey Adams has been serving as a missionary/teacher in Mexico. She’s convinced God called her there, and it made for the perfect escape from Danny Maxwell, her ex-fiancée. While there, Bailey has seen firsthand the corruption and fear the drug cartels have brought to the people. She’s committed to making a difference, but first, she has offered to escort, Maria, one of her students, to the U.S. in order for the child to see her ailing grandfather. Before Bailey even knows what’s happening, she and Maria are caught in a shootout, and escape a kidnapping attempt. With nowhere to turn, Bailey is shocked when her help comes from Danny. She’s thankful he’s there, but revisiting their failed engagement is not what she wants to do. At the moment, she just wants to get Maria to safety and figure out if it’s her or Maria the kidnappers are after.
Danny has never stopped loving Bailey. So, when he see her in Mexico, all his old feelings for her resurface. Not understanding why Bailey is with a business associate of his, Danny has little time to ponder it before Bailey disappears. Finding Bailey and getting her to Logan’s Point is Danny’s number one priority, but his heart’s desire is that they would get a second chance at love. When it’s clear both Bailey and Maria are in trouble, Danny is determined to find out who is after them. As the list of suspects grow, and the possibility that even their friends and associates could be working against them, Danny and Bailey realize time is running out.
I thoroughly enjoyed SILENCE IN THE DARK. Patricia Bradley knows how to write suspense with just the right amount of romance. The characters have such charm. Bailey is kind and strong, but struggles with forgiving herself because of a tragedy in her past. Danny is the consummate hero who handed his heart to Bailey long ago and will do anything to protect her. A long list of secondary characters round out the story and makes you wonder who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. SILENCE IN THE DARK is a great addition to the Logan Point series.

It has only been a couple of years now since I became a fan of Patricia Bradley's novel. And if there is one thing I've learned, she will weave a mystery and tell a story that won't disappoint. And that has left my expectations quite high. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, this particular story just wasn't my favorite.
But for the positives, this novel had some fantastically fast-paced moments. And I loved the element of a drug cartel. In a lot of the suspense novels, that is something new that I have not seen too often. I loved that fresh angle. The characters were quite well developed and there certainly was a variety of them. Both major and minor. And I never quite felt like I knew who I could or could not trust. There were even a couple of twists that I didn't see coming.
Sadly, there was just something about this story that fell a bit flat. I'm not exactly sure why. I did notice that I never had the urge to just read as fast as I could which leads me to suspect that the level of tension just wasn't quite as high in this one. And that was my main issue with this novel.
All in all, this was a wonderful book and I would still reccommend it. Particularly to those that enjoy books with some suspense and mystery to them with elements of action. And I will surely be anticipating Bradley's next novel.
**I received a copy of this book from Revell in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.**
This book kicked off the first chapter as seriously good. Not a super page turner afterwards... but still very good!
The story developed layers. It drove deeper and deeper as the I read and the plot thickened. Some scenes didn't feel "threatening" enough to warrant any major intensity. Not sure if that was the writing, POV's, or if it was because of the many character's we were trying to follow... but it did fall, a tiny bit flat, in that regard.
It was sad that a child was stuck in the midst of the chaos, but such is life most often. Great realism is portrayed though out the entirety of the book. Being a missionary and the dangers which lie there. Also, the struggle of survival. Money. Greed. Trusting in God through the bad times. Everything was well written.
Though, I did enjoy the reality of Bailey and Danny's relationship, Angel and Solana's felt a little bit like "insta-love" which wasn't as enjoyable until further into the book. The voice of Joel felt a little too much like the others' voice, though I liked having that point of view experience for the situation!
All in all, a great read and one I did very much enjoy :D I received this book from Revell Publishing in exchange for my honest review! 16+
Recommended as a Christian Adult Romantic Suspense Fictional Novel
Patricia Bradley wraps up her Logan Point series with another gripping tale. Silence in the Dark captivated me with its heart-wrenching prologue and didn't let go until the final sentence. Bailey is easy to like and empathize with, especially with the danger and turmoil she endures! My heart pounded as she and Danny desperately tried to escape the Calatrava and make it back to Logan Point, only to discover she still wasn't safe on this side of the border. Non-stop action, a plethora of characters who may or may not be trustworthy, complex relationships, and high stake outcomes demand more than just a cursory read of this novel, but it is time well-spent. Like the previous books in this series, Silence in the Dark stands alone but some characters overlap due to the setting of a common town. A great addition to your reading list!

3.5 stars "The room was empty. No waitress. No men. No Maria. No Bailey."
Danny Maxwell is frantic when his friend and once-upon-a-time fiancé disappears while dining in a Mexican restaurant with one of his business associates, Joel McDermott, and niece, Maria. Convinced that a notorious drug cartel might be involved, Danny accepts an offer of assistance from a Mexican national named Angel Guerrera, whom he knows little about. What a coincidence that Danny spotted Bailey to begin with, after their broken engagement she fled to Mexico as a missionary.
When Danny, Bailey, and Maria, and others manage to temporarily evade their would be captors, trouble still follows them all the way home to Logan Point, Mississippi. Myriads of suspicions dilute true intentions; enemies stalk among them, masquerading as friends. Will Danny and Bailey stand firm, managing to re-establish a partnership that has any chance of surviving this life and death crisis?
Expect to turn every page of this fourth installment in Patricia Bradley's acclaimed "Logan Point" series.
I knew this book was going to be a winner from the get go. Drug cartels, kidnappings, murder, - what more can a suspense fan wish for in a novel? From the first page I was swept up in a wave of intrigue that didn't ebb until the last page. Suspense stories have kind of gone by the wayside for me, but this is the second one in as many weeks that has really captured my interest and reignited my love of an adventure. Even though it's a little preachy, Bailey's story is definitely one to grab if you like a clean, fast-paced read. I love the idea of lost loves reunited, so this story has that going for all you romantics, too. ;) Silence in the Dark is the perfect summer suspense!

What a thriller! Bailey is on the run from the Mexican cartel, and Danny is the man who shows up to save her. It was so fun to return to Logan Point with another heart-stopping plot from Patricia Bradley. These characters always seem to find themselves in situations only God can get them out of, and that was the case with this book as well. With the cartel hot on their tracks Bailey and Danny must rely on God to save their lives - and to also show them exactly where they are supposed to land when it all is finally over. Such a great read. *I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*
This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it! I had been wanting to read a book of hers for a loooong time and finally had the opportunity to do so, I was not disappointed. I loved the setting with Mexican roots sprinkled through out it and loved the characters. Even though this was the 4th book in the series, I didn't feel lost, only felt like I need to read the other books preceeding it so I could get more of the back stories :-) I found it a fun easy read with lots of action, suspense and mystery with a tiny bit of romance sprinkled it. Highly enjoyed and recommend it!
What a fast paced thriller this was! Patricia Bradley takes the reader on a wild ride again. Bailey, serving on the mission field in Mexico at a school and church gets more than she bargained for as she tries to discover who is after her. Why does the local priest want her gone? How does her ex-fiancé show up when she least expects him? Page after page of connecting the dots last throughout the book. Great plot and character development enhance the story. So many twists and turns!
I received a copy of Silence in the Dark from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.
This was such a good book!!! Totally different from other books of this genre; neither of the main characters are military or law enforcement, etc.
Where do I begin with Bailey and these characters?! Bailey and Danny are both struggling with letting go of things from their pasts and giving things over to God. So many of their struggles and doubts are things I've thought myself. It's so human and real.
Bailey witnessed a brutal homicide when she was a girl. Besides her guilt over being left alive when her friends were dead, she also is terrified of marriage now. The man seemed like such an upstanding man and he did such a terrible thing. How could he change like that? The reality of people changing is a very big fear. You think you know someone, but you can't know what they will do in the future. So when Danny proposed, Bailey accepted. Then she returned the ring and fled to Mexico with her fears and doubts.
Danny never knew why Bailey called off the engagement and he thought he had moved on. But seeing her in Mexico, he realizes that he is so not over her. In fact, as life throws them back together, he comes to the conclusion that he never stopped loving her.
Things come together with the wrap up of the gunrunning operation and Blue Dog that takes us across the border into Mexico. The drug cartel in the area where Bailey was living and working are after her and little Maria. Why? Who can be trusted?
I'll never know how some people can become so twisted. I mean, I do know, but that doesn't make it any more comprehensible.
It wasn't explicitly stated, but I think we're supposed to assume that Bailey leaves Mexico to marry Danny, but that they work with the Mexican women to sell the pottery that the women make.

Bailey and Danny were engaged for less than a day before she gave him back the ring and fled to Mexico to serve as a missionary. Now, years later as she prepares to return to Logan Point for a visit, she runs into him at a restaurant near the airport. Everything seems fine until the man she's with is kidnapped and the guys with guns are chasing her and her four-year old charge, Maria. Danny and a man he met in Mexico years before, who has secrets he's not sharing, do all they can to get Bailey and Maria safely back to the United States. They fear the men from the cartel who tried to kill them in Mexico won't stop at the border, and they're right. As they battle their unknown pursuers, it seems someone is leaking information about their movements, but who?
This story is filled with twists and turns, and through their trials, Bailey and Danny ultimately turn to the only One they can really trust to keep them safe.
There were so many characters in the first several chapters that I came close to stop reading it. It was tough keeping them straight.
Other than the characters we met in the previous books you didn't know who to trust. The story was action packed with plenty of mystery and suspense. I had three people on my radar as suspects then added two more. The one I thought for sure was not. One of my five picks was on my list however there was a surprise with the reveal.
I loved Danny and Bailey along with Angel and Maria. I was really annoyed at Ben in this book. Yeah, I know he was doing his job but he still annoyed me.
This is a good series and I suggest you start with book one to fully appreciate each story.
The 4th & final (at least, for now) in the Logan Point series. I enjoyed the book once I really got into it. Although, I have to say, it was my least favorite in this series. It seemed a little slow to get going. For a few chapters, I had to “force” myself to continue reading. I even stopped once, started another book but decided, based on the first 3, that I didn’t want to make a negative judgment about this one without completing it. I’m glad I did. This one didn’t get as many stars as the first 3 but still worth the read
I have enjoyed Patrician Bradley's books in past readings. Here, Bailey is trying to keep herself alive in Mexico, running from the drug cartel, along with her young charge. She receives unexpected help through others, as well as her ex-fiance, Danny. While Bailey is also going through spiritual struggles, I did not quite understand the romantic relationship when it seemed that Bailey and Danny did not seem to agree on the level of commitment to God.
This was the worse book I have read by Patricia Bradley! The plot is ok..but the Spanish mixed in is a killer! It didn't help that i listened to the audiobook that was poorly narrated with the Spanish words. I was cringing constantly! It was hard to get through.. but I pushed forward and finished it..
A thrilling, full of suspense story of a fight against drug cartel in Mexico.
A long lost love that caused chaos, fighting her feelings and eventually running away to Mexico, she leaves him behind, only years later to have him literally save her life. A sit on the edge of your seat book!! A must read!!
The whole series was pretty much the same, but with different characters. I enjoyed the series, but the writing was a bit spoon fed. The author told us how to feel and how the characters felt over and over and over.
Clean books, fun mystery, and fun characters is what kept me reading.
