Fresh off a six-year bid, Malik returns home expecting peace and prosperity. For years, he’s lived in the quiet Woodlands Community with the unit right next to him vacant, and he preferred it that way. But when the sound of a U-Haul backing in wakes him from his sleep, Malik realizes his peace is about to be disturbed.
After walking away from a relationship that no longer feels right, Jade is ready for a fresh start. A new place to live, a new neighborhood, and a chance to finally breathe is exactly what she needs, and exactly what she thought The Woodlands Community would give her. But her first encounter with the mysterious man next door leaves her wondering if moving there was the biggest mistake of her life.
Jade never imagined her curiosity would l land her on a missing persons report.
I wasn’t sure how this story was going to develop romantically, but I knew it was coming. I thoroughly enjoyed not only Malik’s protectiveness, but the way he came right out and told Jade everything that was going on. I don’t want to speak on Karter too much but I was slightly curious to know if he and “the assistant” had been creeping behind Jade’s back. If you had can drug use, there’s not telling what else a person will hide. I appreciated Jade being understanding, forgiving, and receiving of the way Malik went about protecting her. Question 🙋🏽♀️ how Jade sliding on Ma Ruth’s shoes if she don’t have legs? 🤣🤣 Finally, I wouldn’t mind reading a spin-off book focusing on Damion and Destinee 👀
I rally enjoyed this book and I seem to gotten a new book bae Malik is the man and Ma Ruth was the truth she taught her her kids and grandkids very well and they payed attention an it go them right where they needed to be in life, I’m about to grab me another book by this author cause now I’m hooked and as long as I can read I’ll take this ride with her till she have so many books under her belt…
Ummm so I thought this would be different but i still loved it. I loved the fullness of the book. Nothing was left to wonder. Now we did get a brief explanation of why Malik went to prison but I understand the focus. Malik and Jade were funny but I think it was their back and forth for me. The shoes in the car and also the hitting a parked car lol. Overall definitely a good book. Will read more from this author!!
The authoress shared this book in a fb group and I decided to give it a read. I’m so happy I did! It kept my attention and had me on the edge of my seat. I loved this story, it was real and raw.
Malik was a good man that went hard for his family. Once he met the right woman, she was able to bring all the feels. Couldn’t stand Karter and glad he was put in his place
This was good. Matter was a pretender. I think he loved her but he wasn’t in love with her. It was about what she did for him, and what it looked like to the outside world. Maliak showed her what real love was.
Malik had been just been release from jail and starting to enter the world again. Jade was trying to end a relationship and start her single life again. Both entering a new stage in life. Both seem to be what the other needed.
The emotions, the banter, the character development i loved this book all the way around NOW i was curious about karters ending! But i loved this nonetheless❤️❤️❤️
