#LoveTe

Marquita Valentine has simply become one of my favorite authors. I will devour and read anything she writes. And in her newest release, Love So Tempting, Ms. Valentine has written one of the sweetest and charming books that I have read this summer. I absolutely loved this book. From the opening pages to the very last page, Marquita has managed to leave a big fat smile on my face. This book had everything that I wanted from playful banter, a colorful cast of characters, sweet romance, and lots of hot steamy moments. Love So Tempting had just the perfect amount of angst, banter, and steam to keep readers like myself entertained as it chronicles the tale of Lemon McCoy and Tristan Lawson. Both Lemon and Tristan are two unexpecting "friends" who finds themselves falling for each other. As they navigate their relationship status and feelings for one another, they must learn to unite to overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. So if you are looking for a sweet and charming read then I highly recommend you to read Love So Tempting.

Hero seems like a manwhore from the previous books but why I decided I'm not reading this is b/c in book 3 we get a sneak peak and the H/h have just slept together and while she's leaving the hero's "on again off again" woman comes by and apparently he was supposed to sleep with OW that night he spent with heroine. Ughh. Hate heros who sleep with OW while still wanting the heroine.

An interfering sister almost ruins this friends/enemies to lovers story, but the volatile feelings between Tristan and Lemon both love and anger, keep them on the right track. Add an unplanned sexy night in bed and a pregnancy they can't deny they both want........the fun begins. Full review on http://tbqspersonalbookpalace.blogspo....

The accidental pregnancy news came early on, but it was the drama from Lemon’s sister that drove me bonkers. Because I was more interested in seeing Tristan and Lemon work things out rather than have sex as frequently as they did, I found myself skimming the sex scenes out of boredom. This was mostly a cute read with some interesting family dynamics.

Valentine does it again with a story I just couldn't put down! Finally we get the story of why Tristan and Lemon didn't get along and wow I couldn't believe it.

Tristan is a marine but now he is the librarian. While he was in war Lemon become not only his pen pal but they started a little bit of a relationship but when he returns home she is seeing someone else.

Lemon doesn't understand why Tristan had a change of heart all those years ago but after spending one night together they still can't help the bickering between the two of them. But 8 weeks later they both get the surprise of their lives and secrets that were lost start to unfold.

I really like how Valentine wrote there story and it wasn't what I expected it to be it was more. In the first books we know they have a history but I never expected it to go the way it did. I really enjoyed reading about these two and was ready to find out what exactly happened and how they would make it right between them.

I liked how Tristan and lemon started to fall in love again even though they never actually fell out of it. I enjoyed how Valentine gave this story a few surprises and yet staying true to this couple.

We also learn that one of lemons sisters is behind it with a grudge against another Lawson and I am so ready for this story. I don't want to give too much away if you haven't read this yet but it sounds like the next few books will be juicy!!!

The verbal sparring between Lemon McCoy and Tristan Lawson is practically a legend in their small town, but it hasn’t always been such a battle between them. Years have passed, though, and their animosity toward each other hasn’t faded, making things that much harder when one night of giving into their attraction leads to pregnancy and a sudden marriage.

The Verdict: This story has been building since the beginning of the series, so of course I couldn’t wait to find out what was in store for Lemon and Tristan!

Back when Tristan was deployed, he and Lemon sort of inadvertently became pen pals. He shot off a quick, funny letter, she responded with her usual wit, and a friendship grew from there. But what could have been their great love story was shot to hell when other people interfered, and Tristan and Lemon’s pride kept them both from revealing their true feelings for each other. Fast forward several years, and they’re both still harboring plenty of attraction, love, and loathing for each other. But one unexpected night together leads to an unplanned pregnancy, and they finally get their chance to make things right — if they can put aside their barbs and let their hearts show a little.

One of my favorite things about this series is the quick wit among all the characters, none more so than that between Tristan and Lemon. There’s no denying the sexual tension between them, but they won’t let down their guards for one second around each other. Fortunately, one night they let things go too far, and in forgoing the condom, they’ve finally created a situation in which they have no choice but to show some vulnerability.

The second Lemon told Tristan that she was pregnant, things started getting really good. Even as he was trying to hide his feelings long enough for her to get more comfortable with him, his best side began shining through. Of course, he’s a man, so he certainly screwed up once or twice, but he did his best to put Lemon and their child first. Likewise, she didn’t hesitate to uproot her life to start a future with him. Had their history been different, I probably would have thought they were both idiots for jumping into a hasty marriage, but even though they each claimed it was for the baby, it was clear it was for themselves, too. They were careful not to reveal too much, but they were also surprisingly honest with each other, and when the whole truth finally came out, it was impossible not to mourn the time they’d lost.

Lemon’s sister is a piece of work, and while I’m sure her story is coming up, there’s a part of me hoping it’s all miserable and angsty for a good long while. She certainly deserves it after what she pulled. But watching Lemon and Tristan reconnect was still awesome, and even though we definitely got a fully developed story, the pages flew by so fast! Their background story allowed the quick pace of their relationship to flow seamlessly, and their chemistry was beyond perfect. Love So Tempting is a fantastic, emotion-filled romance that had me rooting for the characters from page one.

Love/hate romance between a Marine and his true sweetheart!

Of all the books in this series (6 to date), this is the last one I’ve gotten around to reading but is the one I’ve probably been looking forward to reading most. Despite having such a hate/love relationship, Tristan & Lemon spark fireworks whenever they are together because their chemistry is just so out of this world but even though this story focuses on an unexpected pregnancy, let me tell you it is so much more than just your typical pregnancy romance. This is a real opposites attract romance where there is a very fine line always between love and hate.

The love letters angle is such a sweet theme to start off Tristan & Lemon’s story, given the role they have played and the mentions they get in other books; the letters remind you of a classic wartime hero and his sweetheart, although obviously mixed in with some other modern communications too. The letters pull at you heart strings from the get go a as you really hope the Marine can get his sweetheart and a HEA. However, in a surprising twist, the author throws in a curveball from that time that is completely unexpected.

Moving into the present and being told from both POV’s, these so called ‘enemies’ still can’t keep their emotions at bay, spilling over into an unexpected pregnancy. However, you just know that perhaps it’s fate finally intervening and forcing these two people with an undeniable attraction together to hopefully find a way to have a HEA. The pace and development of Tristan and Lemon’s relationship moved at a fast pace but given their history and connection, it’s not surprising. However, despite them working well together as a couple, we do see their struggles to adapt to their changing feelings, especially through Lemon’s relationship with Skylar & Tristan’s with Mason in this book.

I’m running out of ways to say how good this series is; it’s like an old friend that you know you can rely to make you happy. They are quick, relatively short but complete stories that you can quite easily read in one sitting to pass a few hours. As always, we get a HEA and the epilogue which focuses on Tristan and Lemon is such a sweet ending for this couple.

Every book in this series deals with a new topic, whether it be a military romance, pregnancy romance, sports romance, single parent romance, widower romance or even firefighter romance. There will be a book that will appeal to everyone. I genuinely can’t wait to see what else Marquita Valentine comes up with for this series.

REVIEW: LOVE SO TEMPTING BY MARQUITA VALENTINE (LAWSON BROTHERS #4)

Love So Tempting by Marquita ValentineMy rating: 5 of 5 starsLove So Tempting reads like an old time love story. Presented with ever obstacle a relationship can face Tristan and Lemon have to decide if they can make it work. Marquita Valentine has written a well crafted love story as a testament to two people who never expected to fall for each other. With everything against them including rivalries, town gossip, family and the ravages of war it's easy to see that the stars were not in their favor. Yet Tristan and Lemon bucked everything including tradition to make a life together. Doing something as simple as writing a letter to offer encouragement and hear a friendly voice changed the course of their lives. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. Love So Tempting is a story of passion, despair, love and the resilience of the human spirit. With this series, I am finding it hard to decide on a favorite because each is better than the one before.View all my reviews

4.5 stars for the latest edition in the Lawson Brothers series which finally answers all the questions as to why Lemon McCoy and Tristan Lawson have such a tumultuous relationship. The Lawson and McCoy Families are considered the "founding" families in Jessamine but a family feud that goes back for longer than anyone can remember have put the two families at odds until Lemon and Tristan bring them back together in a most unlikely way.

Lemon McCoy is the youngest of the three McCoy sisters and being a McCoy comes with certain expectations she must live up to. While the women in her family have the reputation of being "man-eaters" Lemon prefers the opposite. The only family aspiration she enjoys is owning her own business - Hammered & Polished a nail salon in town. Lemon realizes in order to receive her inheritance she would have to marry a man that was willing to become a McCoy and adapt to her family which is not what she wants or needs.

Tristan Lawson is one of many in the large, all male Lawson clan and he just happens to be Mason's twin. While Tristan joined the Marines his beloved twin brother Mason whether to be contrary or different decided on the Navy and they were both sent off to war. While Tristan was gone he struck up an unlikely friendship with Lemon McCoy. At first the snarky letters back and forth turned into so much more after time and feelings started to transpire but when he returned home things changed.

Lemon thought Tristan was a different person when he was overseas but when he came home he was the same jerk he was before he left except for the crazy attraction she feels for him now. These two have fought tooth and nail for the last five years and that one crazy time they let their attraction get the better of them a few months ago has proved that they can't hide their true feelings for each other any longer especially since she is pregnant with his baby!

Loved this book and so glad these two finally worked out all their drama. I for one am not a fan of all the missed connections but I was so glad it all came to a head and a HEA was finally in place. Bring on Austin the NFL superstar :)

I can't lie, this has been my favorite of the Lawson Brothers series so far. The story begins while Tristan is a marine at war and has recently started writing to girl named Lemon from his hometown that has been nothing but a huge nussance his whole life. The banter in their letters is priceless and leads emotions neither would ever had guessed could be shared between them. The biggest problem with their long distance relationship is that neither of them knows just how deep the other is falling in love and neither of them has the courage to put it in a letter.

When Tristan returns home with major plans for a future with Lemon her sister Apple turns into one huge road block. I was ready to claw her eyes out for the way she lies and manipulates Tristan and Lemon. They spend years feeling hurt and confused because of her deception. But one night of passion leads to potential for these two to untangle the mess around their hearts. I love the way Tristan begins to fight for the future he always wanted with Lemon.

Hearts not only heal and truth is revealed but the author makes it happen with perfection and gives you an epilogue that is simply epic. I feel like you could read this as a standalone but I promise you'd be missing out. These Lawson boys are pretty fantastic.

Who doesn’t love a good enemies to lovers romance. This one is a little sweeter than others I have read.

Tristan Lawson was in the Marines when he started writing back and forth to Lemon McCoy. Who new he would be writing to the towns beauty queen. He thought when he came home he and Lemon could have a relationship. However, he found out things had changed. Now fast forward several years and Lemon is knocking on his door and Tristan has been given this one opportunity to have a redo.

Lemon McCoy may be the towns former beauty queen, but finding out she is pregnant was not on her list of things to do this year. Especially since the father of her child is her least favorite person. Someone who has made her life almost unbearable at times. Asking Tristan to stand by her and put on a show is what she wants. However, Tristan has other ideas. Will Lemon be able to stand her ground or will her wall slowly come down?

I love this story. Lemon and Tristan were written perfectly. I could very well see this happening and love that Lemon and Tristan come together. I even love the double surprise at the end.

Tristan and Lemon never had a cordial relationship until he served in the Marines and Lemon wrote him letters. They developed a friendship and became pen-pals who shared their dreams with each other. When Tristan gets out of the Marines, he seeks Lemon out. Apple (Lemon's sister) does such an underhanded thing to both of them that caused years of misunderstandings and anguish. When Lemon and Tristan have one wild night 5 years later, a baby is in the cards for them. Lemon asks Tristan to marry him to save face in their community and Tristan readily agrees. Apple is finally found out for her devious behavior which was so over-the-top and childish she should have been ashamed of herself instead of still being vindictive towards Tristan. Her lies almost cost her sister her happiness and she still tried to lie to make Lemon turn against Tristan. Her excuse was laughable and was just her immature reasoning as to why she did what she did. It had a nice ending and was a nice, easy read.

No one would ever expect Lemon McCoy and Tristan Lawson to fall for each other. To the outside world their relationship has always appeared as one of bickering and distrust. However, while Tristan was deployed, Lemon's letters were what got him through each day. Unfortunately, upon his return, her meddling sister and misunderstandings keep them from pursuing a relationship. The attraction and chemistry though never diminishes. Will they ever be able to get past all the obstacles and find the happiness they both deserve??

This is a very well written story and a perfect addition to the Lawson Brothers series. Tristan and Lemon are great together and their story is one of hope, persistence, and determination. I really enjoyed it and I think you will too, I recommend it.

I haven't read any of the other books in this series but that's okay because this can be read as a stand alone book. I like a little more depth in the books I read and while this is a good book, it's just not what I like. Everything wrapped up too neatly for me with this couple and the potential conflict with Lemon's sister. I would have smacked my sister if she tried to pull something like this!

Lemon and Tristan are thrown together after a night of passion leaves Lemon pregnant. They have always been at odds with each other but somehow Lemon gets Tristan to agree to marry her so the town gossips won't talk about her. How Lemon turned out so good and her sister turned out so bad is beyond me.

I'm thinking Tristan is going to be stealing my heart, I love all the Lawson men but there's something about Tristan that makes him stand out. It could be that when he's bossy it comes off seriously sexy, “let’s go back to Wilmington. There’s a bed and breakfast I want to make love to you in,” he said, pulling her along as he moved to the bedroom. “You won’t need much to wear.” Reading these books just go so fast, the characters are well developed, the story always flows, and the characters are always lovable.

Weird timeline

Missed a bit in the middle. Am not generally a fan of accidental pregnancies. Liked Tristan. She writes her men well. Hated Apple from book one. What a meddling bitch. Seemed so unnecessary for her to be that way through all the stories. Not her sisters fault. At least some semblance of an explanation. I got the first 3 books in a set free. Paid for this one hesitantly. Wish I hadn’t. Can’t see a way to get the redid the books for the reduced price. Amazon usually gives for remaining books. Liked the sex but more here than in the earlier books. Was starting to get tedious used instead of any emotional serious conversation. Words missing here and there. Think I won’t bother with the rest until I have money to waste.

Love this book! Lemon McCoy is a beauty queen and has clashed with Tristan Lawson since high school. Then when he joins the Marines she receives an unexpected letter from him and there friendship begins. They share their hopes and dreams without their normal arguing. Then when he returns to their hometown the fighting resumes. Tristan knows that he loves Lemon. When he is lucky enough to spend the night with her he thinks he stands a chance. That is until he off again on again girl shows up and Lemon takes off. Now two months later Lemon is here telling him she is pregnant and needs him to marry her. Maybe this is the perfect opportunity for him to win her love and find his happily ever after. Great read.

There’s a thin line between love and hate and this story is a perfect example. Tristan and Lemon are always picking at each other and making snide comments, lol. Unlike his twin Mason who became a Navy SEAL, Tristan joined the Marines. While he’s deployed, he writes Lemon and she writes back. I really thought this would a turning point for them, but when you have someone working against you, that’s not the case. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say I loved this story. The Lawson brothers are quickly becoming some of my favorite book boyfriends. Grab your copy and see what happens.

First review ever, and I’m only writing to complain briefly about ONE thing that knocked off a whole 2 stars for me.

If you read the prior books in the series, the tension between these 2 builds SO exquisitely. So why, pray tell, do we not even get to read about the moment when that tension breaks? Made me see the book in a different light tbh, it felt like I was starting the book already a quarter of the way in. Don’t get me wrong the rest of their story was great, but it felt like i came to watch a flower blossoms and walked in when it was about to be picked.

While I loved this enemies to lovers story of Lemon and Tristan, I have to say that this book has been poorly edited and that detracted from the overall enjoyment. Completely wrong words, missing words and timeline errors are blatant and distracting.
The story itself was hot and I was glad to see them both get their HEA in the end. I loved the banter in their letters to each other and that they were both prepared to work on their relationship

Cute story

Cute story. I wasn’t wondering what had happed with them to cause their relationship to be like it was in the first book. What a sweet courtship if not for the bitter older sister. If she ever gets her Lawson brother, I think I’ll get that one cause I gotta know how he wins her over.

I love this series, it is a re-read for me. I can't remember how many times I've read this series, but every time Lemon and Tristan's story comes up I fall in love with it again. Their story is built up for several of the other books and the conclusion is so exciting. It would have been a 5 star read for me except for the development of Tristan's character after returning from Afghanistan. But that's a personal qualm. It still one of my favorite Adult Romance series.

Sweet Lemon

Lemon McCoy and Tristian Lawson had been enemies forever, not counting the time he was away in the marines and she was all he thought of, coming home was not the experience he was hoping for and Lemon thought the letters and words they shared were just that. Until one night, until one pregnancy, until marriage vows.
