GRACE
For me, growing up did not imply independence. My whole life has been paved before me like a well-traveled road. My twenty-first birthday signaled the end of my father’s rule, and the beginning of my husband’s—where I am expected to churn out infinite children with a smile.

As I stare at the oversized Temple doors, weighed down by more than yards of heavy, white lace, I do what I have never done before.

I make a decision for myself.

I decide to run.

TREAD
Being in a motorcycle club is in my DNA, as is the military requirement to join. I served, I fought, and I survived the crucible of grueling training and intense combat. I returned to my club with newfound respect for right, wrong, and the shades of gray that connect them.

By day, I work at Ronin Auto, pulling things apart, fixing the problem, and putting them back together.

Grace and her nonfunctioning, little sedan prove to be a hiccup in a well-oiled machine.

Because by night, I smuggle soft felons into Mexico.
With things heating up at the border, and a missing MC family member, the last thing I need is an innocent to worry about.
But something about Grace makes me want to take apart all of her pieces to figure out how someone so beautiful has never even been kissed.

Against my better judgment, I strike a bargain with the little, blue-eyed beauty, and it changes everything I thought I knew. About women. About the club. About the man I’ve become.

I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into with this book. I wasn’t familiar with the author much less her husband who co-wrote Tread with her. The blurb grabbed me though, even if the cover didn’t do much for me.

I liked the history of the Ronin MC and thought it was an interesting take on a motorcycle club. It’s a dynasty in the making, with the sons of the originals raised with particular jobs in mind and required to serve in the military before being accepted into the fold. The first generation secured their own slice of the southern New Mexico border and used it for their own ends, making money off of smuggling felons into Mexico and taking the drugs that cartels try to sneak through their border.

Truly, at first I was beginning to think I had gotten ahold of a complete dud. I was a little shocked by how often the members of the MC got stoned off of the merchandise, even while “working” and I thought the number of brain cells they killed showed at times. I also didn’t like the way the MC female family members were treated. Things got better as the book progressed.

There was a lot going on in this book. Ronin seems to be an MC on the cusp of some major change. Although the second generation MC members respected their elders, the sons wanted more respect from the elders. The daughters were not happy with how their lives were shaking out either. Sent to college instead of the military but not allowed to utilize their educations was not sitting well. Relegated to keeping the homefires burning and the businesses going while the boys were out on their missions, a little revolution of their own may be in the works.

In the midst of all this drops Grace our little runaway bride. Born into an ultra religious family and expected to go from her father’s rule to her chosen husband’s rule, Grace decided that wasn’t for her and left her intended at the altar. She ends up stranded with the Ronin MC and is taken under the wings of the MC daughters. Grace is funny, cute, and due to her sheltered upbringing, unbelievably naive.

Tasked with babysitting her, Tread becomes enamored. I can’t say I ever connected fully with Tread. Definitely alpha, seemingly badass, but I’m not sure I ever bought his feelings for Grace. At times it it felt like she was just something different and getting with her was more of a convenience.

It took a good long while for any sparks to actually ignite between these two. Although I loved that our naive little runaway virgin didn’t suddenly discover sex and take to it like the most experienced porn star, I did think that waiting until 64% to have some action was a bit…..frustrating. There was one “aborted mission” but that just made the frustration worse.

I liked some of the MC sons, and I loved the daughters and the Old Ladies of the MC. Some of the banter and their antics gave me some LOL moments. The book left the couple with a HFN, but lots of strings were left dangling. I would have liked to have seen some sort of closure with Grace’s family. Even a freaking phone call would have been nice. Plus the cartel problem was left way open ended, and don’t even get me started on the cliff hanger at the end. I didn’t appreciate it at all.

I’m not sure whether I am going to continue with the series. I’m not sure gritty and cute meshed well for me, but I did like the characters.

Spice’s Rating: 3.5 “It was okay but had some issues” Stars.

This book came out in 2015 at the end said next book about Royal would be out in 2016. I don’t think it was released though soooo goodbye series!

Grace belongs to a religious family, she wears her hair long, her skirts past her knees, and modest tops. She doesn't have experiencing with kissing, or dating at all, yet she has an arranged marriage just waiting for her. On the day of her wedding, Grace realizes she just can't do it, and with no planning at all she runs. After a while on the road, with no job success, Grace's vehicle breaks down and she finds herself in the company of some caring women and the Motorcycle Club they call family.
Tread is the son of one of the late MC Founders, Ronin is his family, it's in his DNA. He served in the military, as is required by all Ronin, and now he's serving his time until it's his turn to take a seat at the table. In the night, the MC helps smuggle soft felons over the border into Mexico, but things get more serious as drug smugglers try to enter the border into Arizona. The unfamiliar Grace throws a wrench in things, because instead of his mind focused on the tasks at hand, it goes to the soft, innocent Grace.

What a book! Written by authors Brandace and Justin Morrow, Tread is told from the alternating POV's of our hero and heroine, Grace and Tread. It is easy to tell the difference in writing styles between the husband and wife duo, but I ended up appreciating it. I liked having drastic character voices, different inner monologues, and views on situations. It made every scene in the book come to life for me. As for characters, I really liked them both. Grace is so eager to break the mold she's grown up in her whole life and she approaches everything with both apprehension and childlike curiosity. Sure, some of the situations seemed over the top, but her way of handling it was quite entertaining. I almost don't want to get started on Tread, because I loved him. He's a hard ass with a soft side and if you're anything like me, you're picturing a tan Jaxson Teller while you read this. I can't help it! I really enjoyed reading his perspective the most and the detail into his flashbacks, the Ronin lifestyle, and even his thoughts on Grace really provided a clear visual. I got a lot of understanding from Tread as a character and felt like I understood the other minor characters he interacted with really well thanks to the running inner monologue. Hands down some of the best descriptive writing I've read in a while.

The situation is definitely not all rainbow and butterflies, let's be honest, you knew that from the moment you read the synopsis. As the reader, you're in the midst of Ronin MC and some of their less than legal activities. Viewing it from an innocent perspective and then a very involved perspective makes you really look at everything taking place in this book from all sides. While I question how believable some parts are, it's easy to get an image of your mind. There is a lot of politics within the MC, so for me that kind of took the book down a bit. There is also an awful lot of reality when it comes to military and PTSD, if that is not for you I suggest you walk away. It will break your heart at times, but it makes you understand the MC and the hero. What I really enjoyed a lot was Grace's slow growth within the MC, her friendship with the girls and the old women, as well as her blossoming relationship with Tread. They both help each other face some of their demons and grow as individuals. While the smut scenes are sexy, they are slow moving, a gradual shift in the relationship between the two main characters, and I really appreciated that.

If the cover and the synopsis didn't already have your attention, hopefully this review now has you convinced. Tread is a great addition to the MC novels that have been released lately. It's realistic, detailed, well written, and has a great mix of romance and MC lifestyle. I really enjoyed this book, it is a standalone so if you're looking for just one book to read, I suggest it. I will be adding Brandace Morrow to the list of authors I need to read more from and I have my fingers crossed she and her husband write together some more.

Tread wasn’t a prince on a white horse; he was a biker on a black hog.

They say that opposites attract, well in Tread and Grace’s case they sure as hell do. Grace ran from her Mormon family the day of her arranged marriage, and hasn’t looked back. She took the cash that guests were giving as gifts and hit the road, she starts driving south without a glance back. That was not a life she wanted, she wanted more for herself. She wanted to be able to make her own decisions on how her life was going to go.

Tread is ex military that is now in the Ronin MC. The club is something that he was born into, and loves with ever fiber of his being. He loves his brothers and would put his life on the line for them. Tread is a hardened man by the things he has seen and had to do in his life.

So the day Tread comes home with the rest of the MC and finds a timid, homely Grace she doesn’t get a second glance. He didn’t have time for fresh meat, he wanted a well trained Dove that knows what he likes, one that would get him off and then he can go on about his business. All Grace wants on the other hand is to get her broke down car fixed so she can get the heck out of this town. What did she just walk into? Boy is she in for a life changing experience.

I flipping LOVED this book! This is my first MC book (GASP) and I couldn’t have been happier with my first experience. Brandace and Justin deliver an intense, heartfelt story that I was fully drawn into. From Tread with his PTSD and getting to actually see it from a soldiers eyes is amazing. A Solider just doesn’t leave what he sees and experiences back on the battle field, they fully relive that everyday. Now Grace how could I not love her? She is a girl learning to become a women in the big bad world. Being sheltered from everything but her family and church, and then falling into Ronin MC is one shocking eye opener after another for Grace. I loved watching her spread her wings and find the women she wants to be, not the women she is expected to be.

I loved all the side characters and their stories they all seem to have going on as well. There could easily be spin off books about other Ronin MC characters. I personally would love to see one about Royal and Kit. They seem to have a tangled relationship that would make a great book!

I would totally recommend this book! If you love the bad boys, motor cycles, sweet innocent girls, along with badass bitches, I would tell you to dive in head first to Tread. This book has a little bit of everything to satisfy everyone. A little angst, suspense, some laughs, and a little ok a lot of love. I know I couldn’t put this book down, and now I can’t wait for more about the Ronin MC.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. When I read the synopsis I was envisioning a girl who ran away from a strict family who knows nothing of the outside world. Only to go into an outlaw family where she finds a man who she likes. I was expecting more of Grace's family from the story. Maybe they come looking for her. Something. Instead this was about how one MC club works the borders and deals with the cartel.

For me I give this a solid 3.5 stars. The story was good but I felt disconnected from the characters. I did get a little lost in some of the story line where I had to reread some areas again.

Are you a fan of the "true" opposites attract theory ? Can two very different people fall in love with each other ? I believe they can , once they look past each's others flaws and faults and find common ground. I found that Tread by Brandace and Justin Morrow was that sort of book . I was eager to read this book and find out what it was like as I had read all of Brandace's series Los Rancheros and Finding Sadie series. I have also been a fan of the Biker MC type books. When I started reading Tread, we first met a bit of background on the Ronin MC's and discovered that they were the baddest of them all and they sort of reminded me a mixture of J.A Huss's characters from the Dark,Dirty, Deadly series. The other person we meet is Grace , she is the Pastor's Daughter and yearns to live her life and not get trapped into a soulless arranged marriage where all her life would amount to getting married , having babies and cooking dinner for her husband - whom she doesn't even love. On the day of her supposed wedding , Grace runs away and lands into a bit of trouble where the Ronin MC's girls help her and take her back to the club. It is here where Grace's eyes will be opened and revealed to things she never quite imagined and for a pure innocent virgin - being at the club is a whole new discovery. Enter Tread , he is ex-military and part of the Ronin MC's and like the other guys, they love their girls for sex. He never thought he would settle for just one girl, but he has never met anyone like Grace and he will do anything in his power to protect her. One of my favourite things that I liked about this book is that they played with Grace's naivety and it followed throughout the story, as one thing I hate is when authors make their characters good and innocent at the beginning and by the end of the book - they are a raging slut or someone more experienced than they should be .

Filled with Hot Bikers, Bad Boys and Action/Adventure with a hint of Suspense and Romance , Brandace and Justin Morrow's new series "Ronin MC" has something for every reader out there.

I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that I do love a good motorcycle romance. I love the suspense and men who know what they want. I know better than to hook up with a bad boy in real life so I have to get my fill with book boyfriends. Tread has a good premise – a woman fleeing from her uptight, religious background straight into the arms of a motorcycle club. So far, so good. But the novel starts out very preachy (and I’m not talking about Grace’s preacher family). I was afraid I was walking into a conservative rant about illegal immigration. There were indeed some parts of the novel that irked me with its conservative political preaching, but it did fit into the story (and after a while I just skimmed those parts).

I liked Grace, but I had a hard time believing her character growth. She went from sheltered, frightened little girl to motorcycle mama in no time. I thought the other women in the club weren’t exactly welcoming considering her background. They helped her, but they didn’t take her under their wings.

The story moved along and there was suspense and violence and romance and sex. All the things that make a great motorcycle romance. But it just didn’t flow. There were often too many details – especially about military aspects and lingo. Sometimes it felt like a lecture on military techniques rather than a book. The dialogue often didn’t feel genuine. The word use just wasn’t realistic at all.

I had a really hard time trying to figure out how to rate this one. One the one hand, I did enjoy reading the story, but, on the other hand, the writing was staccato and disruptive at times. I wouldn’t hesitate to read anything by this author couple again.

I love military books and MC books so perfect combination with both in one. I also love the fact that this was a husband and wife duo that wrote the book. I could tell right away who wrote which part and it was great getting both male and female perspectives during the whole book.

Grace is a sweet little innocent girl who is trapped by her parents. They have made the choices of her future for her but she doesn’t want that life so she decides to run. She never expected to run straight into the mess she finds herself in but once there she doesn’t know if she can leave.

Tread is struggling with the things he has seen and done in the past and in the present. During the day, he runs the auto shop and also does stuff for the MC but at night he struggles with nightmares. He isn’t expecting Grace but she might be just what he needs.

This book is packed full of action from start to finish. I loved seeing the struggles Grace went through trying to come into her own and I also loved seeing how much Tread changed and how much Grace was changing him. I also love that this book not only focuses on Grace and Tread but the secondary characters as well. It kept me guessing from start to finish and literally left me wanting more. I am really looking forward to book 2.

Tread by Brandace and Justin Morrow was one roller coaster of a novel. It was my first read from them and I loved it!

I loved how the book started. It right away caught my attention and made me anxious for what was about to happen on the next page. Grace escapes a life she doesn’t want for herself and runs smack dab in to the middle of a motorcycle club. Her naivety and religious ways aren’t going to stand suit in the world and she is in for a rude awakening. She was sweet, beautiful and genuine and I really enjoyed watching her character develop.

Tread is your typical bad boy biker. He’s arrogant, cocky, and sometimes mean. He was kind of a hard pill to swallow at the beginning, but as I kept turning the pages, I really enjoyed watching him show his soft side. There’s nothing sexier than a tough-guy façade with a big teddy bear of a man hiding behind it.

This novel hit me in the gut as I read the flashbacks Tread had of being in the military. Chills ran down my spine. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I could hear the explosions and feel the emotion he was describing and feeling in the book. PTSD is something that hits close to home for a lot of people and so this novel was emotional for me in that way.

The ending was good, but felt really abrupt for me, which is why I gave it four stars. I’m hoping that there is another to come and that I can experience more of Tread and Grace. I would even like a story on Kit and Royal.

I am so thrilled, and honored, that I got to read this on behalf of the authors and I cannot wait to read more from them.

Tread, is a fast paced, heart pumping, action packed read from husband and wife team Brandace and Justin.
i inhaled this book and the adrenaline rush it gave me. Tread is sexy, suspenseful and sweet..Grace is a fantastic lead female, when she stumbles upon the Ronin MC nothing phases her, she takes everything in her stride and comes out fighting but never loses her values or the person she is. Tread is super HOT. His mixture of panty melting dirty talk and pure devotion left me on fire. The supporting characters of the book are also really likeable and I already want to read stories from certain other characters.
What was interesting for me, was to read the acknowledgments at the end to get an insight into the way Brandace & Justin wrote this book. While reading, I definitely felt as thought Tread's POV was written or if not influenced by real life experience, which for me set his character off really well and made him more believable.
I'm rating the book just shy of 5 stars as for me I'd have loved to read a little more into them finally being together at the end but I'm hoping that we'll see more of them in future books..
Overall, this is one mighty fine MC Book that will grab your attention from the first page, get your heart pumping and mind racing and leave you gasping for more from the Ronin MC!

THIS BOOK!! This book checks off all of the boxes of a great love story! On top of that the book is written in duel point of view with the male characters being written by an American hero and a female character written by one of the most talented authors whose books I have ever read.
The fact that both of these two characters are written by such talent doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of why I love this book!!
Grace's character is probably one of the most relate-able characters I have read this year. You fall in love with her innocence and her need to spread her wings. The fact that Tread gets to help teach her to spread her wings just makes this book that much more fun to read if you know what I mean!
Tread, Tread, Tread where do I start with him. He is the the alpha male of anyones dreams. He is good looking he is a motorcycle man and he knows how to wield a weapon...swoon!!
I loved this book I loved watching Tread and Grace's relationship grow and I loved all of the other characters in this book...I cannot wait for more books from this MC club!
Great job Brandace and Justin and thank you Justin for being a hero!

Tread sounded good so I requested in on Netgalley and I have to say I was surprised. Like really good surprised not able to put it down good. Grace lives in a very strict religious home. Her life has been planned out and as soon as she says her marriage vows she'll be stuck listening to obeying her husband.

Tread is a biker who served in the military. He's part of the Ronin MC and they do things that aren't always above board. Like smuggling people across the border. He has issues from his time over seas and struggles with any available woman available and lots of drinking.

When Grace abandons her family and runs away, she breaks down in the Mc's territory and her life will never be the same again. The straight laced good girl and the biker tatted bad boy will go through quite a few changes and deal with quite a few obstacles. Drug cartels, crazy bikers, and secrets. Will these two survive?

I am fairly new to MC books and I cannot get enough of them. This book fed my addiction in a very good way. I was intrigued by the fact that a husband and wife wrote this story thogether. All of Brandace other books have been awesome and I couldn't wait to see what he brought to the table. They make an awesome team!
Grace and Tread could not be more different, polar opposites for sure. She had a controlled and sheltered upbringing making her sweet, shy and extremely naive. He was raised in a MC and then joined the military and went to war making him rough, tough and a bit damaged. Somehow they were PERFECT together, like 2 pieces of a puzzle they just fit. Add all the action and angst to their building love story and you have a book that I could not put down.
I am so happy to see that this is a series I want to know more about the other characters. And that ending I NEED the next book. Seriously the last paragraph left me with my mouth hanging open!!!

copy received from Book Enthusiasts - part of the 30 day reading challenge
when I saw this biker romance, I jumped into it. However, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought. It started off good and captured my interest. the minute Grace ended up in that small town, things veered off. They entire scenario was strange and unbelievable. She breaks down in a small town of bikers and the take her in?! I enjoyed Grace and her inner discussions. She pretty much kept me reading. She was part of a very strict religious family and was sheltered to the point that she had no experience. She didn't. drink, curse, or anything. she had never had a real kiss. She escapes a prearranged marriage on her wedding day. Tread is the head mechanic for the Ronin MC. He was born into the life. It is all he has ever known. The side stories in the book are distracting. I wanted to read more about Kit and the VP than I did Tread and Grace.

This book was a great surprise for me. As I've read previous books by Brandace I jumped right into this without even reading the description. Written by a husband and wife team they both have their own point of view which I really liked.

Grace is a really lovely character. I liked her from the start. Grace was feeling the life being sucked out of her by her family so she makes a quick life changing decision.

I love Tread. Sex on legs. He's an MC and also fighting demons from his past.

When fate drops Grace into Treads life they don't realise how much their lives are about to change.

Brilliant story that has me laughing out loud, shouting at my kindle and basically gripped to my kindle from start to finish.

Looking forward to reading more from these authors.

This was a captivating story. The characters were all so in-depth and intense. There was so much description and detail poured into this story. It actually felt like I was there with these characters. I loved all the background information that was given about the characters and the club. The authors really did a great job with laying it all out there. The story flowed effortlessly and kept me hooked. It was not predictable. There were a few curve balls that came out of nowhere. There were several times that I was laughing so hard at these characters. The chemistry between these two is explosive. I cannot wait to see where this series will lead!

Grace has had a very sheltered life. Her father set her up in a arranged marriage. Grace took off.

Tread is former military who is part of a motorcycle club. They protect their town.

Received an ARC of this book so thanks for that. I really enjoyed this book, Tread is a former soldier in an MC club, and then there is Grace a slightly naive girl who gets brought into the MC Ronin group by accident. This book deals with traumas that soldiers go through and the dealings of the MC group in New Mexico. Really enjoyed the relationship between Tread and Grace and can't wait for the next book in the series. Well worth a read

Wow. Seriously impressed by this one. One thing is for certain, if you’re looking for a quick hook up and little character development this isn’t your book.

I loved how this story progressed. Who would have thought to parallel the ideals of Conservative Strict Mormon life and Loyal Motorcycle club. Brandace and Justin did an excellent job doing just that, all while making you connect to these characters in their struggles and growth.

Many times with authors you will either get all love and sensual scenes- or fast paced action and sacrifice. Somehow between this couple co-write you hit the best of both worlds. The action in this book did not feel forced, fake or tacky- instead there was genuine experience written within these pages that kept you coming back for more.

Reading as the meek and innocent find the fight needed to come into their own and learn to experience true freedom through their own volition; coupled with the damaged and hurting inevitably finding the peace needed to live, by being willing to give everything for someone else is more than just an entertaining story, it’s an art. Unfortunately, scouring the web there’s no new about the second book in this series- but I’m still waiting for George RR Martin to deliver one too…so what’s one more book to the someday it’ll come list.

World Building: This novel starts off in Utah and then settles in New Mexico. I haven’t read too many books that are out in the desert, that also give great descriptions so this novel was a great change of pace!
Characters: The main characters in this story are Grace and Tread. Grace is from an ultra-conservative Mormon family in Utah, but the life that she is living is not the life she wants. Finally making a decision for herself, she high tails it out of her community and essentially jumps out of the frying pan straight into the fire! Tread has served his country overseas and is now back with his MC and family. But as great as loads of pussy and free drinks are, he can never find the peace that keeps alluding him. Until Grace’s car breaks down and his sister and her friends take Grace under their wing and into the MC. Tread and Grace were such different characters but ultimately ended up being great for each other!
Plot: This story was a good mix of action and romance! I did like how Grace grew into her own and how well Tread treated her. I was really interested in the club and how the first generation of members and the second generation are at a crossroads at which direction the club should go in. I really want to know what is going to happen next with that underlying plot!
Writing: This novel was told in first person points of view of Grace and Tread, as well as present and past points of view. Tread has a lot of flash backs to his time overseas and it helps the reader get a sense of what he’s been through. There was a lot of military jargon within the story that I didn’t really understand but I kept reading and it didn’t detract much from the story. It would have been nice to have a glossary of sorts in the beginning of the novel though.
Curb Appeal: This cover was different than what I’m used to for MC covers but I really liked it!! I can totally picture the guy on the cover being Tread!! As for the blurb, that is what initially got me hooked! Grace and Tread seemed completely different and no way compatible but they ended up working really well together.
Ultimately: This was a great start to a new MC series!! I’m so curious as to where the cliff hanger is going to go and who is next in the lineup in men that will be taken by feisty females! All in all if you are in the mood for a MC that has more honor than most and features a hot alpha male that would do anything for his family and woman then come check out Tread!!!

Tread book's blurb caught my attention and I had to read it. Tread wasn't typical MC romance story - yes, it action packed and erotic but it was an awesome glimpse into a world I know nothing about.

So what makes this book different?!? The Ronin Motorcycle Club isn't just another group of outlaws looking to having a good time on their own terms. They're all retired military from the various special forces and ops groups who still they want to protect and serve their country now that they're home. Their clubhouse property sits on the border of the United States and Mexico - a border which they monitor and protect. Except it's isn't totally altruistic, they definitely have found a way to make a profit using their land.

Anyway, it's here in New Mexico that Grace and Tread's lives cross paths. Tread is all kinds of badass. He was born into the Ronin lifestyle and everything about his life has been breed to be an efficient member of this group. Grace on the other hand was raised in the house of God and everything about her life screams innocent and naïve. They shouldn't make any sense at all but suddenly they're interacting and their sexual chemistry is in your face. It's awesome.

I ended up really liking the romance between Tread and Grace. Not only was it fun but it was great to watch this couple's connection evolve. What started with snarky words, quickly turns into full-blown lust and then eventually love. Their budding relationship is coupled with the Tread's emotional demons and an interesting subplot of immigrant/border issues. Making their story complex and interesting.

Being that this was the first book in the series there is a lot of character introduction and background information laid out for the reader. I think the authors did a good job of making me feel like I knew this group of characters quickly as well as making me curious about their lives and their romances.

Overall, I thought Tread was a good read. It was my first book from Brandace Morrow and Justin Morrow and I liked the storyline - the plot was highly entertaining. It moves at a fast pace and there was never any moment that I felt that the story was lagging or that it lost my interest. People looking for the rough gritty characters from an MC romance but want a slightly different storyline will appreciate this book and want more from the serious just like I do.

Definitely check it out.

This is a fantastic book. I am addicted and can’t wait for the next one. This series is one of those that pull you in and rips your heart out at the same time and you still come back to read the next book. Grace is a Mormon and is 21. She is engaged to Mothias who is 19 and she has no say in it. She has always done what is expected of her and she wants more, more of everything and anything. On her wedding day she does the first for herself ever she runs. Tread is second generation MC. Their fathers fought in war together and then bought some land with their pulled money and created Ronin MC. Tread and his brothers all joined the military when they were old enough and served their country then came home to join the MC. Tread has seen some horrible things and relives them every day. Then Grace pops into his life. At first she annoys him with her mousey boring clothing and attitude. Then he is intrigued by her. She is so different from the doves that hang around the club. He finds himself attracted to her and wanting to be involved in all her firsts. Grace’s eyes are opened wide by the MC life. She is taken in by the girls of the MC members but not exactly expected. She has gone from on extreme to the other. She finds herself falling for Tread but thinking that she shouldn’t get too attached he couldn’t possibly want anything special with her. Tread could have anyone he wants, why would he want her with how inexperienced she is. This book is action packed. They are all ex-military and life a hard life. They all have demons from serving. She much happens in this book and I loved all of it. I love Grace and how resilient she is. She lived such a sheltered life but took everything the MC offered. There were times she wanted to leave and what was happening scared her but knowing Tread was there for her and would help gets her through. I can’t say enough about this book. I am impatiently awaiting the next book in the series. The MC seems to be making a change with more of the second generation having more a say. I will telling everyone to read this book. Fantastic job Brandace and Justin Morrow. Hurry up and finish the next one.

TREAD by Brandace and Justin Morrow was my first read by these authors, what made me read it was the words motor cycle club, there is something about hot men, in this case bearded men, that ride motor cycles that draws me right in.

The story in this book is very well written and developed and the plot was well thought out and flowed nicely throughout the whole book. The characters in this book are well written and the chemsitry between Tread and Grace is hot. What makes these characters stand out from some of the other motor cycle club books I have read is that these two are total opposites and come from very different worlds.

Grace has lead a sheltered life, her father is a preacher, she has never had a drink, never said a swear word, never done drugs and most importantly she is a virgin. Tread is in a motor cycle club, from birth it was a given that he would be apart of the Ronin MC, and given what we know about motor cycle clubs, we know Tread drinks, does drugs, swears worse than a sailor and there is never a shortage of women to "have" in the clubhouse. Grace ends up part of the Ronin MC club by accident when she runs out on her prearranged marriage and sees a sign on her drive for frozen custard. Stopping was the mistake as her car breaks down and unable to pay for the repairs it needs she stays. For Tread the mistake was Grace staying, for some reason he cannot help himself, he feels a ull to her. They do say opposites attract, and in this case Grace and Tread could not be any more opposite. There were a few things that bothered me about this book, and they were: what the motor cycle club does to earn money, drugs and smuggling criminals from the US to Mexico and when Grace runs away her family makes no attempt to find her at all (I'm hoping there is going to be a second book that will explain that), otherwise this was a great MC read.

TREAD by Brandace and Justin Morrow was a really good read and I will be watching to see if there is second book, as this one leaves a lot of loose ends. I would give TREAD 3/5 stars.

Ronin—what can I say about Ronin except, “Wow!”

“I’m the lead mechanic for Ronin Auto. I’m also either one of the baddest mother******* you will ever meet… While the first generation took up arms voluntary, the second generation were born into this fight. We became a dynasty.” Reading this, I was EAGER to begin reading Brandace’s newest book and let me tell you, SHE DID NOT DISSAPOINT.

Tread and Grace—the epitome of opposites attract and finding a much-needed peace where you least expect it. “She was my type when I didn’t know I had one.”

Tread, having been raised in the MC world from birth, is used to women, sex, and booze. A combat veteran turned ‘mechanic’ lives his life dealing with nightmares and helps protects the New Mexico border. Grace, on the other hand, had a very strict religious upbringing and is completely sheltered when dealing with the opposite sex. During a moment of insanity, need for freedom, and twist of fate, Grace becomes a runaway bride and ends up at Ronin’s garage—that’s when her life truly begins.

Tread is written in dual POV by Justin and Brandace. It is technical (military terms with explanations, weapon and equipment description, mission layouts—which I LOVED), action-packed, sexy, gives you a different take on the MC/Cartel world, and touches on a subject that many don’t—PTSD. “The voices of my brothers were drowned out by the ringing in my ears, which took me back. Back to THAT day. I felt myself shaking as my conscience floated away. Ever closer to the approaching mortar explosions and RPK fire. Images appeared…”

After reading the acknowledgements, I came to see Tread in a different light and fell in love with the story even more. This book was not solely written for the enjoyment of us readers, but also as a means to healing. “I saw the effects of writing his personal flashback into the story had. He was calmer, less fidgety, and seemed less burdened. It was as much therapy as fiction for him…” After reading Justin’s words, I was almost left in tears.

Her name is Grace.
She’s pure.
She’s innocent.
She’s ready to walk down the isle to marry the man of her dreams.
No wait that’s wrong!
She’s ready to walk down the isle to marry the man of her parents dreams.
You see Grace’s pending marriage is arranged.
It’s how it works in her world.
Marry the man, live the happily ever after, even if she doesn't love him.
Because that’s what her family’s beliefs are.
She’s ready to go.
Dressed in white standing outside of the church.
This is it.
This her game changer.
This is her family’s game changer.
She’ll be married.

Not if Grace can help it.
She needs to run.
She can’t do this.
This isn’t what she wants, even if it does break her family’s heart.

It’s time for Grace to run.
Be carefree.
Be an adult, guided by her own decision making.
It’s time for Grace to be her own game changer.
She gets in her car and drives.
Drives as far away as she can.
She’ll finally be free.

But what Grace doesn’t know is that one stop along the way will change everything for Grace.
He will change everything for her.
His brothers will change everything for her.

His name.
Tread.
Brother of the Ronin MC.

His dark and dangerous.
He’s fearless.
Woman are nothing more than a one nighter.
No feelings.
No commitment.

Until he sees her.
She will be his game changer.

Tread…..What can we say other than we loved it. A little slow to begin with, Tread soon picked up pace and has us wanting more. It’s edgy, raw, confronting and damn hot. It had us completely gripped.
We loved the connection between the characters often finding ourselves laughing at the banter. We loved the heartfelt emotion that the novel possessed taking us to horrible places and feeling the rawness and heartache.
The only slight issue we did have was we found ourselves a little confused as to what the MC primarily were involved in. We found it a little complex and a little hard to follow.

Overall a great read that shouldn't be missed.

A definite 4 star read.

**DEBBIE'S REVIEW**

I love this author’s work so I was extremely excited to get my hands on this book. I could not wait to see how she wrote a biker book.

The book starts off great and I was hooked right off the bat. I love how she wrote Tread’s POV and you could not help but fall in love with him. He was clearly bad ass but had a sweet and caring side that made me want to crawl into my kindle and hug him. Grace was the other main character and you could not help but like her. She started off naïve and sheltered but that was to be expected since she grew up in what seemed almost like a religious cult. Once she found her wings and learned how to fly she became one tough cookie. Her inner bad ass came out and I was like her proud mother watching her take on some pretty intense situations.

“I gotta be honest, I’m not usually a fan of getting’ screamed at, but you’re sexy all riled up.”

“I wanted to grab Tread’s biceps and shake them, screaming, “teach me the ways of the world.”

The book flowed really well but the only thing I had a problem with was so much of the army tactical parts. Sometimes I felt like I was in Army bootcamp101. I wanted to just get back to the meat of the story. I understood why the author put that in the book but felt maybe there was a little to much of it.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I think the secondary characters really made this book a fantastic read. I loved Marley and Tatum. I loved the banter between Grace, Marley and Tatum. They had their disagreements but still had each other’s back when they needed to. The chemistry between them all was fantastic and felt real. I felt several times like I was there with them experiencing what they were going through. Overall, this book kept me hooked and I hope the author has plans on writing more books around these characters.

“Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Wake up Grace! It’s 2012. BOB stands for battery-operated boyfriend. Also known as a vibrator.”
