Immortals, Witches, Werewolves and Vampires. The four races have lived for thousands of years. Over two thousand years ago, there was a war, The Blood War. The races were divided on how to live alongside the Mortals. Some wanted to leave them to learn their own way; others wanted to rule over them. This caused The Blood War and almost brought the four races to extinction. The war was won in a river of blood. The Mortals would be left alone. Now in the present day the tension between races is growing. Could the forbidden love between an Immortal and a Vampire once again bring war? Can the secrets of the past finally be laid to rest?
Ian John Smith, born May 1981 in Portsmouth England. My childhood was one of hardship, growing up in a poor household. Many of my memories were that of survival, growing up with a father unable to read and who followed a life of crime. To this day he tells me his greatest achievement was making sure I never followed in his footsteps and what joy he got from watching me read a book. Each day there was a struggle to put food on the table. As an only child my life was a lonely one, I filled my life with a love of books. From the brilliance of Roald Dahl to the amazing inspiration of William Shakespeare. Growing up in a tough family made me a survivor and that meant my passion for writing always came last, working long hours in a Factory from the age of seventeen. That was until fate intervened many years later, diagnosed with a bad heart. There is a long fancy medical name for it, but I decided long ago to never let it stop me. I have to thank that moment in my life, it made me realize we have to follow our dreams. Whatever path they lead. I took a job for less money as a projectionist, this allowed me to have the time to write. It may have been a scribble on a scrappy piece of paper or a story of meaning, it never mattered it was my passion. Never dreaming of publishing my work, I was happy to enjoy the work for myself. Little did I know fate would intervene again, My mother, Sandra who passed away so suddenly forcing me to make changes to my life. My father Michael terminally ill himself needed someone, being an only child, I made it my responsibility. I left my second job due to fate, but along the path I realized I wanted to write. Now my work, maybe ridiculed it maybe considered inferior, but that does not matter. What matters is I finally get to live my dream. I am not a writer looking for wealth or fame I am just a man looking to live his dream. Now I will publish stories I enjoy, from short stories to Novels. I will also be publishing work in a series format. This is my beginning.
I have read this book twice now and it's better the second time. Besides some of the wording. The author keeps you guessing about the life of Sam and his family. I'm looking forward to the next book.
What can I say? It has everything I love in a book. I really enjoyed this book. Reading about Immortals, Witches, Werewolves, and Vampires proves an interesting read for sure. Looking forward to more in this genre from this author. He just has a way to bring you right into the stories.
This was one of the first books I have read by this author . I was sucked in fast . I mean it has witched and werewolves oh and don't forget the immortals and vampires . After thousands of years the a truce bring the paranormal world back to the brink of war . Will the love of an immortal and a vampire bring them back to war or heal them. This is a gripping book that will keep you reading. The characters are very well written and complex . The main characters William ( the immortal ) Lena (the witch) Torak (the vampire ) Sam (a young immortal ) and Kayla (a vampire) . They are all complex and each of them and their story line is so easy to follow , the good versus the dark is the battle here . You will fall in love with these characters trust me . This book is a great read and you will read it in an evening . You will get sucked in and love the characters and the story is easy to follow. There is no complicated plots that you need to keep track of . There is just one thing that had me not giving it a five star rating is that it just needed to be cleaned up in the editing a bit . I really enjoyed this book and will recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal characters and a great story line .
It's been over two thousand years since The Blood War that had Immortals, Vampires, Witches and Werewolves fighting each other ended. Seventeen years ago William (an Immortal), Lena (a witch) and Torak (a vampire) saved a young Immortal named Sam from certain death at the hands of The Dark Sect. Sam goes to The Dradle Academy School for the Supernatural and meets a young girl named Kayla Grey and that's when the trouble starts. The Grey family are vampires and members of The Dark Sect who are searching for 5 stones that are the key to an Immortal death. As their love blossoms the feuding and fighting between the Dark Sect and The High Council heats up .I won't say anymore except this was a well written story of young love, secrets, feuding and loyalty. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the paranormal. Well I J Smith and I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.
