What if love-at-first-sight was not the "first-sight" after all?

Natalie Star is a modern woman, with modern sensibilities. Practical and realistic, she finds herself falling for a man named Thomas Andrews. Thomas is a perfect gentleman, but his love for her seems to be old, solid, staid—the kind that grows after years of love and life together. He speaks in riddles when she asks why he seems to know her so well—they were together in a time she can't remember yet.

Thomas longs to tell Natalie everything he knows about her, about them. But it's time that is the problem yet. There is a tragedy that they must endure before she can fully accept who they are, and why they are destined to be together. A tragedy that Thomas has been through once, and will go through again to find the piece of his heart that has been missing all these many years.

That tragedy is the Titanic...

Many people have tried to capitalise on the Titanic for their own writing but few have succeeded as Tracy Kincaid has. While there is a well done link to the past, the characters and their conflicts are strong enough to keep the interest up on their own.
Intriguing we wait to find out who the mystery stranger is that sends our protagonist the dress and awaits to see her at the ball. A touch of cinderella romance is implied and I was as excited as she to find out more.
Romance and suspense with a historical and fantasy touch, this is playful but not too simplistic. Very enjoyable and definitely recommended.

I finished Changing Lives I think it is well written, has a fast pace, things seem to happen quickly, great imagination. A new take on the Titanic that is a pleasant surprise. This is not boring at all almost finished it in one night, but my eyes gave out.
It is a fast pace, entertaining and refreshing new twist on the Titanic, there is a few pleasant surprises and twists that I enjoyed.
This is a novel about a young lady trying to find herself and make it in the world when a handsome man comes into her life and changes everything. This is a terrific novel and is nice to have a little fun and romance without the commitment of the "BIG book series" I usually read. I would recommend this book, I think it's fantastic.
Happy Reading

I have one complaint it was over too fast.

"Changing Lives" by Tracy Kincaid was a great, quick read. It's one of those books that you don't want to put down because you will want to find out what happens next. This book is the story of Natalie Star and Thomas Andrews. I can't call this a classic romance because there is sense of deja vu on how this couple not only knows each other in this lifetime but also in past lives. To say more gives away too much of the book and it is one that deserves to be read. If you enjoy reading off the grid, sci-fi, sort of historical romance you'll love this.

I have to admit that though the book was written well, it isn't my cup of tea and I had a difficult time really getting into the book. Changing LivesChanging Lives cover Tracy Kincaid is a pure, sweet romance with a supernatural twist. Pure romance does not capture my imagination as well as other genres and I cannot put myself into the shoes of a reader who loves strictly sweet romance. I do believe that romance readers will love this one. A twist on a timeless classic.
The story is told in first person present point of view. Though I generally do not have a problem with point of view, this POV made it difficult for me to feel the emotions and environment of the characters. I could not relate to the main character or love her hero as intended. Ms. Kincaid did do a good job of characterizing the romantic hero with the appropriate social mores of the time. He was a perfect gentleman and doted on the main character, but the story seemed slow to unfold for me. The mystery surrounding the romantic hero and how he is able to be where he is seemed a bit far fetched and inexplicable. The premise is a bit hard to believe, but, throwing out suspension of disbelief, this sweet romance has a great happily ever after ending.
This book is appropriate for youth as young as 15 or 16 and adults who love sweet romance with a happily ever after. I give this a three star rating because of my personal preferences but can see readers who love this type of story giving Changing Lives a higher rating.

Natalie has no idea that her life is going to change so dramatically until she meets Thomas, with whom she has such deja vu feeling of having met the man before that she barely requires an introduction. Not only will she learn lots about the Titanic, the Bermuda Triangle and other strange phenomena but she will also get to understand herself much more and most particularly that she has lived many times before and in each one, Thomas has been in her life to varying degrees. Each time, however, they have been broken apart, the most recent time being when they sailed on the Titanic together and to go any further may spoil the plot. Can they change the past to change the present and have them spend out their days together without being thrown apart?

This book is very cleverly written and the topic is original and well researched. I really enjoyed the fresh idea and the fast pace of the writing.
Growing up with this author I went in reading her book very criticality.
Here are some examples I found, there was abundance of unnecessary conversations between characters also that there are many ways to say "I love you" rather than just saying those words. There was never an explanation on to why they were able to be together this time. But again I am just being overly critical and still loved the book.
I hope she continues writing cleaver, original idea kind of stories that I will envelop.

Disclaimer: The author of this book is the daughter-in-law of my husband's cousin.

I'm not a big fan of romance novels, and I'm not really into stories with supernatural elements, and Changing Lives is a romance novel with supernatural elements (time travel, past lives, Bermuda Triangle). That said, I enjoyed reading this book. It is entertaining and sweet, a light and easy read with a happy ending.

Very adventurous, very romantic and constantly engaging!!!!

This book gave a unique twist to one of the oldest events and kept me so involved!

The beauty and sweetness of the love affair between two very old souls was steadfast! Such a heart felt tale but it's hard to review without giving something away! It's epic just like the ship it revolves around and I'm a true believer in reincarnation!!!!! So I'm totally sold on this story !!!!

I was pulled straight into the story of Thomas and Natalie.
Two soulmates searching for each other, and what happens when they do.
I can recommend this book to anyone that likes something more with their romance

I didn’t think I’d ever see a happy ending for the Titanic, apart from the heart warming Ghostbusters 2 scene.

I was apprehensive about this book to begin with, as Titanic-fiction is generally rehashed, the same story time and time again. The author manages to create something completely original and something that I’ve never seen done before, in all the Titanic books that I’ve read.

It’s really hard to describe this book without ruining the twists and the storyline. I don’t really think the blurb sells it either, which is why I was initially wary. But without ruining it, you’ve got Natalie in the present day, being quite literally pursued through time by Thomas Andrews.

The book isn’t without its faults. I struggled to tie the Thomas Andrews that I’d seen from the real life photos/Victor Garber from the film to the “built”/“handsome”/“fit”/muscles and abs description that the author bestowed upon her leading man. There are also some formatting issues and some major repetitiveness - one particularly bad repetition was the author rephrasing an entire paragraph of dialogue one paragraph later, and keeping them both in. She’d been clearly working out different ways to say it.

The pacing however is excellent, and I zipped through this during a quiet shift at work, finishing off the last few pages on the bus journey home.

I initially thought that the cover wasn’t directly linked to the book, but after reading, I promise you, it ties in perfectly.

You do need to suspend rationality while reading this, as if you start analysing it, you will ruin the book.

If you’re bored of the same old story being repackaged and republished under different titles/authors, purchase this. I really recommend it.

Interesting premise, but with so much repetitive phrasing, it was tough to read. The characters tell us everything instead of the author showing us. In one part, the main character is sitting in a car and tells us that all of a sudden she feels weak. As she goes to get out of the car, another character asks, “Are you okay?” The first character replies, “I feel weak.” Whereas if her knees buckled under as she got out of the car, then we would know she felt weak and so would the other characters. This was the issue through the whole book. (The word “sick” appears so many times.) Also, whenever there was a chance to raise the tension, the hurdle was quickly overcome and never really explained. I mean the Titanic has been gone for over 100 years, it seems like maybe everything shouldn’t work on the first try. These are all things me that could fixed with the help of a good developmental editor. This was a good start but didn’t live up to it’s potential.

A heartwarming romance 💙

This is something i normally wouldn’t read but the blurb got got me curious and it was well worth it. I was intrigued from beginning to end! i was so emotionally invested in this story that at times i found myself a little scared how it would end. After all it takes place in a “sort of in between “ the famous titanic. Must read!

Draws you in and doesn't let you go

I love the Titanic! This book draws you in and doesn't let you go. It's as if you are in the story yourself, living in two worlds. The main characters are whimsical and I just can't get enough.

Natalie Star is single and has California dreams to be a star. She's living alone, going for auditions, and volunteers to help for a Charity Ball for kids that help kids that want to go into acting. While she's getting ready to go help she hears a knock on her door. A delivery man hands her a box. She has no idea who this is from? No card, but a short message that he'll see her tonight at the ball. The fancy dress fit perfectly, it was just her size, even with a pair of shoes to match! Even though she was intrigued by such a thoughtful gift she felt an invasion of her privacy. The mystery man appears at the Charity Ball and they connect. He ends up flashing his money, and Natalie never did find out who he was. No, she didn't let him take her home, but the next day they visited the museum together. She passes out after he tells her more about how he knew her. A man that is from her past. A past that they both never forget, and want more!

I was given this book and was only asked for an honest review. I loved this book. A quick and easy read. I encourage everyone to get this book, it is worth your time and effort. I wasn't sure that I would like this book when I started it but it grabbed me before I finished the first chapter. I couldn't put it down. This is the first book I have read by Tracy Kincaid but it not be my last one. A wonderful story!!!!!

Unable to get into this book

I was not able to get interested in this book at all. I gave up after 10 chapters. Just very amateurish writing. Perhaps it would interest younger readers.
