The young, tenacious Madison Hart had planned to return to her job as a Criminal Investigator and Profiler with the FBI. It wasn’t until the night before she was to leave for DC, did a new opportunity land in her lap. It would be a bizarre case that would shake the very core of her quiet hometown. Never in her career had she come across such a twisted, complex but intriguing case. But could she leave the FBI? And once again she would be partnered with the dynamic, sexy Detective Josh Logan. Their tenuous relationship could be threatened by her burning drive to solve this case, but this might be the one mystery that will leave her with more questions than answers, and risk losing the only man that ever understood her.
DB Jones is a best selling author of Mystery and Crime Drama, including the Madison Hart Mystery Series and the Seasons of Passion Mysteries.
Before writing DB along with her husband composed melodic flute music for over thirty years. She began writing at the age of 68 after her husband passed away. She lives in the hills of Virginia where she overlooks the BlueRidge Mountains as she hammers away to bring her characters alive. DB writes in two genres, Young Adult/Fantasy and Mystery/Crime Drama with an occasional twist of the paranormal spun through some of her books.
The young, tenacious Madison Hart has done it again. Her job as a Criminal Investigator and Profiler with the FBI and her desire to become a PI leads the reader through an exciting adventure where despite the twist and turns, the bad guy is rooted out of the characters. A bizarre case becomes an "I can't put it down" book! You have to keep turning the pages to keep up with Josh and Madison.
Madison Hart is back! It is time for Madison, Criminal Investigator and Profiler for the FBI, to return to Washington and resume her career. As she is struggling with the major career decision, of whether to open her own Private Investigative firm or return to the FBI, a strange new case is presented to her in her hometown.
When a prominent citizen is found to be murdered, Madison will once again partner with the, ever so sexy, Police Detective Josh Logan. The list of possible suspects keeps growing every day. While the romance between Josh and Madison heats up, the trail of the killer cools down. It seems everyone had a reason to want the victim dead.
This book is very well written. The characters come to life on the page and the hometown settings are true to life and well researched.. Just when you think you have it figured out, Ms. Jones throws you a curve that you never see coming.
I loved this book. In my opinion, DB Jones' books just gets better and better. I love the chemistry between Madison and Josh.
Madison is a workaholic who is working on her social skills. She wants love, but her work often gets in the way.
Josh is patient and will go as slow as he needs to, to be with Madison. I love them as a couple and I love the working relationship they have. I also love the other character that from the other books as they make their way into this book.
Finally got to sit down with a Good Book "Beyond Secrets", which I really enjoyed. Madison decides to stay and become the Private Investigator that she had always hoped to be, while opening up her office in her hometown & working with her handsome detective Josh. There was a body discovered, a man, in which the son couldn't care less about & his mother missing, which led to Madison looking into a case that would have some twists & turns of who was the killer, and in the end a good twist to the story, I couldn't put it down till I got to the End. A must Read! Looking forward to reading her next of this Series "The Dark Side of Secrets". Thanks for the great books.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Another winner from DB Jones. Well written I loved it from the beginning to the last page. Looking forward to the next great Madison Hart mystery book.
Looks like Madison will be staying in town, close to her sister, and Josh.. Asked to look into a skelton, male, found in the attic of an abandon house. Questions come up what happened to the wife, the son, and sister, haven’t heard from her in five years. What puzzles Madison is the wife left her personal items. Another skelton, but it isn’t her either. She now has a little dog, Josh sees another side of her, softer, and the attention she gives it. To her it’s all work, and more work. Another twisted plot, to figure out, as they try to find clues. Good series, good characters, good plot.
I just had to get into the next one of this series even though others were before this one. This author is the type that gives you honest to goodness suspense with a air of mystery that snakes around you slowly consuming you, not letting you put it down. When she is given another opportunity but this time could mean doing what she dreams, her own PI is when the thrilling duo have you already trapped. The bizarre case is another one Jim has sniffed out but has it hit on the head. The thing with these cases is that they have such a air of mystique that captures my attention right away. The characters have alot of flavor that bring the story to life straight up. Some of their actions will have you going seriously you did not just do that or say that but lend the color that is needed. She is a gem in the rough with her novels being I am so glad to have come across her. When this one gets wrapped up it does have a air to it that I too wondered. But thank goodness the end is only for as long as the time till the next one.
Beneath Secrets is the second book in the Madison Hart Mysteries Series. Madison Hart is an FBI agent who longs to be a PI with her own business. She misses her sister and the quiet life she had away from the hustle hustle of her position in DC with the FBI. She gives back home to visit in Maitland and is asked to take on a case when a skeleton is found in an abandoned house by some teenagers. This is the turning point for Madison when she decides to take a leave from the FBI to solve the mystery along with the help of her friend and former colleague in the first book, Josh Logan, lead detective in the Maitland Police Department.
There are interesting characters that come to play in this story and many twists and turns that provided an enjoyable read. I look forward to more in this series.
