When a new psychic arrives in Salem, Copeland Forbes is eager to meet him. But Jonas Crawford isn’t looking for friendship. He’s looking for something far more the death spell, a closely guarded secret of the Devereaux coven that Cope has spent years trying to escape.
Meanwhile, the Cold Case team is fighting for its survival. With the mayor threatening to cut their funding, Fitzgibbon suggests they make a good impression on the auditor sent to determine whether the unit is worth saving. Jude is onboard with the plan until he learns West Strickland has spent fifteen years blaming cold case detectives for failing to solve his mother’s murder.
West wants nothing to do with psychics or the detectives who promise they can finally catch his mother’s killer. After fifteen years of disappointment, he has no reason to believe this team will be any different.
Then, days after Jonas Crawford arrives in Salem, people connected to the mysterious psychic begin turning up dead.
Is Jonas responsible for the murders? Is he using the death spell to eliminate his enemies?
Because the killings have only just begun.
And whoever is next may be closer than anyone thinks.
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
Salem's second favourite cold case detective and psychic couple (after Ronan and Tennyson, naturally, but it's a close run these days!) are back in the spotlight. And the threat this time is a combination of a fierce foe and a political situation relating to the cold case unit's funding. These attacks on two fronts present possibly the most jeopardy the extended family has faced in quite a while...phew!!
Why do I keep reading this series? It frustrates the hell out of me. The stories are okay, but I can't stand the way she treats her side characters. Where is this supposed found family that included all of the Carsons? Why is Truman no longer Ronan's best friend, despite what Ten saw of their relationship ages ago? Greeley was doing the cold case squad, and then subsequently completely disappeared. I could go on and on in this same vein.
A new psychics arrives in Salem and the guys go to introduce themselves to him. However the 3 psychics get bad vibes from the new guy. The cold case detectives are also fighting for their lives as there is a high probability that the squad will be closed down and they need to impress a local auditor to stop it happening. They invite him round and discover that he has spent the last 15 years trying to find his mothers killer. As usual both worlds are about to collide.
This story turned intense really fast. Jonas was such a malevolent creep and the final confrontation with him was horrifying and I was stunned when Jude was shot and I was afraid that he would die. I love these characters and was relieved that Jude did survive and I can't wait for the next story.
Another adventure for the gang we think of as family after all these years. They were up against a really powerful force in this story someone who put them all in danger but little Everly is becoming a force to be reckoned with and thank god for Cope’s background in powerful magic!
This was an excellent book. Pandora Pine is a wonderful author. I can't wait to read more of the psychic s. Please make it soon for either series. I've loved both and some of your other book but these from both series are my absolute faorite. Thank you for a wonderful journey.
Well, I figured this one out VERY quickly, and I am still not sure how I feel about the dual storyline, although, I understand why it was written this way. Anywhooo, as always, the good guys win, the bad guys did NOT, and I was entertained. That makes this a good read!!!
