I made it through the first 3 chapters of this book before I decided to DNF it. I just didn't like the MC.
The MC is an Olympic level athlete in track in an era where 1 in 10K girls born are beast girls. Beast girls that are stronger and faster than even the top tier male athletes. But the MC is that one special guy that's actually better than the best beast girls. So he goes on to win a bunch of Olympic gold and silver medals while beating his rivals. And through it all, he comes off as arrogant, cocky, and obnoxious.
During those 3 chapters, you also get the Reader's Digest condensed version of the Reader's Digest condensed version of his romance with a college reporter he eventually moves in with together. We have no reason other than a few paragraphs of why they are together, and it's implied they won't be for long. I don't know how it pans out, though, because my disdain for the MC had me putting the book down late at night. And when I tried to read it the next morning, I felt a big case of "nope" come over me.
