We are not yet done.

These words haunt trauma surgeon Rylan Fraser day and night. After a year of cowering in shadows, it's time to reclaim her life.

Dr. Rylan Fraser has no intention of stepping foot into the hospital this Thanksgiving. It's the one-year anniversary of the twisted serial killer game that nearly claimed her life, and her emotional scars are too raw. But when a mass shooting in downtown Detroit creates an all-hands-on-deck situation, Rylan has no choice. She returns to the trauma bay to perform life-saving procedures, and for one glorious moment feels almost normal.

And then it starts happening again.

Mysterious phone calls. Inexplicable lab results. Stable patients dying. No one seems to realize what's happening. No one, except Rylan. Because she knows someone is watching. Waiting.

And they're not yet done.

Fast-paced, tense, and emotionally charged sequel to Call Game, Call Back is a gripping medical thriller filled with high-stakes trauma medicine, psychological menace, and the kind of cliff-edge suspense that keeps pages turning late into the night.

Dr. Graham Elder runs a busy surgical practice in Northern Ontario. He is the author of the bestselling medical fiction series A Covid Odyssey. Very outdoorsy, he enjoys Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, biking, and hiking with his two massive dogs. Graham has been married thirty-four years and has two wonderful children.

Dr. Laura Cody is a forensic psychiatrist, fiction writer, and lover of books. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous publications. She is happiest hiking and adoring beautiful vistas and gorgeous sunsets. She loves chocolate (addiction-level), spicy food, and cats. Laura lives in New York with her three children, two cats, and one husband.

Laura and Graham met over a cadaver in the anatomy lab their first week of medical school and have been friends ever since. In 2015, they joined forces and twodocswriting.com was born. A forensic psychiatrist writing with an orthopedic surgeon? What devilish harm could come of that?

"Call Back" is an adrenaline-laced follow-up to "Call Game," throwing Dr. Rylan Fraser right back into the fire--a mass shooting, a hospital under siege, and a killer picking of patients and staff while she races to convince anyone that this isn't chaos, it's design.

Cody and Elder's medical backgrounds show in every detail, giving the carnage a chilling authenticity most medical thrillers can't touch. Tense, relentless, and impossible to put down. A worthy terrifying sequel!

Call Back - The Game Continues is our second book in the Call Game series, with a formal release date scheduled for January 21st, 2027. Once again, Laura and I constructed an extensive outline before writing alternating chapters and then trading the whole manuscript back and forth until it was polished to our satisfaction. We are both still working full time, and this process can be quite slow. If you've been waiting for this book, we appreciate your patience.

As with Call Game, we strived to make this book as medically realistic as possible, drawing from our respective backgrounds in psychiatry and orthopaedics. We purposefully cut back on profanity, reserving it only for situations where it was an absolute must. The medical environment can be a very stressful place, particularly during mass casualty events when other patients unexpectedly start dying! Some foul language must be expected. As well, there are some gory scenes in keeping with the hospital environment and the genre we are writing in. We've also tackled some ethical issues this time around. Remember, doctors are sworn to help everyone and anyone, regardless of who they are or why they are there. We hope you enjoy Call Back.

Another page turning night on call with Dr Fraser
The authors skillfully combine the tension of responding to a mass trauma with the terror of being pursued by a killer . I admire how Dr Fraser struggles to keep focused on taking care of her patients while trying to save her and her father’s life.
Once again the authors have given us a very entertaining read .

A captivating read. My plans to take a break at chapter completions often did not happen. Each ending leaves you wanting to know what happens next and the last chapter was no exception. Intriguing!
