But when the murders pile up, Jamie realizes this serial killer might have a personal vendetta—against him. Can he stop the murder spree before he winds up in prison or loses the people he loves most?

As the dates corroborate, I devoured this book. I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t get fucking anything accomplished today that I needed to but it was that good and I do not take for granted that it compounded on the amazing first installment and gave me life. Jamie’s character arc is wild, and painful, and honestly hurts a little to sit and think on. There’s even more ridiculous, insane humour that it manages to soften the blows coming from every direction, though, so there’s that to look forward to. And, un-shockingly, the way I still love not-actually-named-Tater with my whole soul should be studied. She’s just so precious . . . I want the best ending to this series whenever it eventually comes for everyone. Everybody deserves a goddamn happy ending because they’re all precious and I’m so glad I’m impatient and couldn’t wait to read this in January. Seriously a gem of a series and I couldn’t recommend it more. I’m hAVING THE BEST TIME OKAY?!

Grady does it again! An absolutely magnificent story. I was laughing out loud, sometimes shrieking out loud.

Some parts hurt my heart. I spent all of book one getting hyped up for Joe and Jamie’s reunion, and it did not go as I hoped. I was upset because I fell in love with Jamie in book one and couldn’t stand to see him suffering or self-sabotaging. I felt like he was going backwards, after all his introspection in California. But I was a fool not to have faith! Of course Jamie prevailed in all things, including self-growth, just not in the predictable way I expected.

The shenanigans were unparalleled as Jamie brought every “Florida man” story to life. The manosphere bros were an unexpected delight. Even the bar brawl was fascinating. There was one violent scene where Jamie didn’t fight back in self-punishment, that was disturbing.

There was a super graphic violent scene toward the end, but it was a bit cartoony and didn’t upset me. I was dazzled and so satisfied by the way things wrapped up.

I can’t WAIT for book three! I’m sorry this ride is over for now.
