Jonathan Cragle (1965- ) was born the youngest of five sons, to Arthur and Lenore Cragle, both smart, humble and hard-working parents. He was raised in the state of Iowa and grew up with three brother's as great role-models and it's where he learned a strong work ethic and was encouraged to explore and try new things. His inquisitive nature and lifetime of learning mentality was flamed into fire and forged in the cold winters and hot summers! :-)

He's experienced the fun of Oktoberfest in Munich and Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. He's had the pleasure of hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest and the volksmarching throughout Germany. Jonathan has dined on lamb gyros in the Middle East and deep dish pizza in New York City. These are just a few of the thousands of experiences he's had and they all have shaped him into who he is today.

When Jonathan isn't writing, he enjoys competing at CrossFit, reading, listen to music, watching sports, drinking great coffee, spending time with friends, and following his families events & successes.

Jonathan is the proud father of five, Samuel, Caleb, Joel, Micah and Tirzah Joy. They are the good in his life and the hope of a great, future generation.

When asked his greatest hope, Jonathan replied, "As you read my writings, I hope that my books and words will inspire your change, growth and a better life for you and your family".

Jonathan lives and writes, surrounded by the beautiful lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest near Bellingham, Washington.

A guide for life!

We only become aware of things in hindsight when negative things happen to us. We wonder why these hints happened and now o to prevent them from happening. It begins with changing our attitudes to change our mindset, our views of things.this book is so full of wise guidance --stop making excuses, take action in incremental steps. Write affirmations the same way so that they are always encouraging and not the all-or-none approach. So instead of "I will exercise be physically fit in 3 months". You might the goal into doable steps: I will sleep 7 to 8 hours. I will drink a glass of water as soon as I wake up, etc.". This book encourages us to take action and analyze and leave behind the excuses. A wonderful book.

When I first saw this book the cover & title were intriguing, but I wondered if it was just another generic, self-help book that seems to be flying off the shelves these days. So many promise, but few really deliver.

I gave this book a chance and I'm glad I did. Many of the ideas are not new, but the author's look at success, failure, obstacles and overcoming obstacles is fresh and personalized as he relates his own struggles & overcoming. I felt like the author was along-side me as a friend who has been there, rather than some father figure telling how to change.

The more I read I realized my own fear of failure, but also success was stronger than I knew. Instead of trying to create a new "fad" way of talking abou change and personal transformation the author relates to the reader in easy-to-understand language, tips and action plans.

Some of these might seem to be common sense, but the package of ideas together give the reader encouragement and steps they can do, regardless of their life story or situation.

The story of the 1964 Olympics and view of success goes against much of what we hear, yet it's not some watered down idea of "everyone get's a participation ribbon". I was also really inspired when I read of the boy with special needs and his mom and the need for living your life fully, no matter your struggles.

This book is one of the more personal self-help books I've read, but without spending an inordinate time talking about the author's life. This is a book of action and one I believe I will return to often.

I would give the book 4 1/2 stars, if I could, since there seemed to be a lot of commas and overused punctuation is a pet peeve of mine. On the other hand, perhaps this was to emphasize the motivational aspect? Either way, given the choice I rounded up to 5 stars, since it's an all-around solid book that could be helpful to virtually anyone to live the life they were made for.

This is a mix of several (mostly well known) personal development ideas collected from several classics in the field. I did not find anything new or any intriguing personal insights from the author.
