His offer of a fresh start is too tempting to turn down. As she discovers this new world of possibilities, the sparks from long ago turn into a raging fire. And as she knows all too well, fires that burn that hot, burn out quickly.
Is she ready to lose herself in someone else after she’s fought so hard to put the pieces back together? Or will she find that sometimes, when you’re broken, recovery isn’t always a matter of when, but rather who.

I am utterly disappointed that I did not finish this, because this is such a good story. Too bad I don t like it. I was intrigued by the premise and the ratings but then, my mood during my read tells me that I should really stop because this is boring!.
Gracie Kay is a sad women. She lost her parents when she was a child. She have 3 bestfriends after that which one of them became her husband. Brent. At 25 years old, she again lost the man that she loves the most. Brent's passing left Gracie with another sad and tragic event in her life. That incident tore her life upside down, and that's where Chase Baker, one of her bestfriend came and comfort her saddened tortured heart. And so the romance begins.
Yeah, the story is good but why did I dnfed this? Well, the story got plain and boring along the way. Surely, there is a plot twist but I'm not greatly hooked on the way the story progressed. Suffice to say, I'm not just that into the book while reading, hence I decided to put this book down.
But this is only how i feel about the book, others may like it but for me...naaaah!! its not working.
OMG! I am totally blown away by this brand new dramatic book of romantic suspense, contemporary fiction at its best! The talented Ms. Pearson has outdone herself from her previous awesome series that she debuted last year! I would put this book up against any other in the same category even with Nicholas Sparks, Jodi Picoult or Barbara Delinsky just to name a few :)
The characters are well defined, the storyline is fresh with a mystery and twists and turns that will engage the reader & keep the pages turning while wanting more! I actually read this in 3 sittings in a little over a day when I could make time and did not want to put it down once I started.
Even though I was given this to read in exchange for an honest review, I would gladly pay top dollar for this fantastic novel! I highly recommend you add this must read to your TBR list for June 30th, or go pre-order it now at Amazon :)
Friends Forever. Gracie Hart knew heartache from an early age. It was the solid friendship she had with three boys which made life at first bearable and then beautiful when she married. Until she came home and found her husband murdered. Chase Baker has always loved Gracie, but he had the good sense to yield to his friend when it came to marriage. Now, with his friend gone, he coaxes Gracie out of her deep depression. Ms. Pearson does a good job of showing us Gracie’s bumpy route from devastation to living again. The concept of the quartet of friends works beautifully in this light mystery.

What I Loved: Gracie loses her way, her husband, and the only real dream she has had. Gracie is no stranger to heartache and loss and this makes her grieving, so much more relatable after her husband passes at such a young age. She finds her way back to as much of herself as she can with the help of her 2 best friends. I adore Gracie’s heart and how she makes sure those friends, Chase and Ryan, are okay and are comforted. Their friendship is deep and holds a ton of history going back to when they were kids. They know each other…or do they?
Chase is a steady force for Gracie and holds his dreams to his chest when it comes to her. He really offers her this better life then what she is living and he is a driving force in her finding the “who” to help her be whole again.
I don’t want to give too much away, but the twist at the end, and the ending in general leaves this story open for more and I am telling you now Ms. Pearson…WE WANT MORE!!!!!
What I didn’t Love: Gracie’s language lacked a bit for me. I know not everyone has a potty mouth like me, but I was really waiting for her to say F@#k. It’s not that she was old and grew up in a different time, she was young and could have cursed a bit more. (Am I being picky? And Ms. Pearson, don’t hate me!)
Overall: A refreshing read with some real “OH NO SHE DIDN’T” moments of plot twists. I knew this read would be something I needed to read. I recommend this to all the romantic suspense readers and lovers out there. And Ms. Pearson, I want more. Keep writing! I look forward to your next story!!!

Thus is the first time I've read Emily R Pearson& I received this book for free to give my True and Honest Review
OMG Emily R Pearson has written one amazing heartbreaking book. I've been in tears from start to finished, so be warned. What an amazing heartbreaking love story about Brent and Gracie and their 2 best friend Chase and Ryan. They've hung about together since elementary school when Gracie was 12 her and her parents had an accident which changed her life forever and if it wasn't for Brent and the other 2 she knew things would've been different. Brent and Gracie took their first kiss at 14 and started officially dating when he asked her after a stargazing night at his grandpa's farm and that became a different chapter of their lives which stayed that way until she had to work late one night, which changed her life in the opposite direction that they had hoped for. She crumbled for a while until Ryan and Chase persisted with her. After she let Her mother in law in to talk to, she decided to let them in and for them to give her the courage she needed. She was dreading going back to work with the boss who wanted Gracie and Brent to have a swingers 'party' with him and his wife. Chase changes the direction her life was going by offering her a job in the advertising business he works for.Which she sold a big advertising campaign to two brother in Chicago for their Sports gear. During those couple of days away things changes again for them both as Chase opens his heart, then before they leave they get a call from Mrs. Hart about Ryan, what's her done and why... Oh the nightly dreams Gracie has are so heartbreaking but some are with such warmth others the years are steaming down your face again.
I can honestly say how much I adored this book and I will start following and reading more of Emily R Pearson's Books Thank you for entrusting me Emily
This was an amazing book. But then again I expected nothing less from the amazing Emily R. Pearson. The Moving Forward Series was so good and brilliant and this book was right up there with it. The story flowed brilliantly and the characters were amazing. You feel like your right there in the story feeling all the love and heartbreak they are going through.
Gracie Hart has had a tough life from the tragic loss of her parents at a young age to coming home and finding her husband Brett murdered on their couch. She shuts out the world around her including her 2 best friends Chase and Ryan.
When Gracie finally opens up and lets her best friends in she notices how much they are grieving too. So they help each other remember all the good times they shared with Brett.
This story has love and heartache. It is beautifully written and you will definitely shed a tear or two. You will not be disappointed with this book you definitely need to pick it up and read it.
Received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This author is so talented, she touch's on things in her young life she should not even know about. And yet she portrays each emotion perfectly. Just so you can relate. The main character in the book came home and found her husband murdered on the couch. From that point Gracie goes thru so many things. Grief controls her, but shortly she comes out with the help of friends and family. This is not a sad book, it is not going to make you feel bad. But it is a story that if you have lost your spouse that you can relate too. How love makes a difference from friends, family time and a new love, how accepting and coming to terms with all these emotions makes for a happy book. When done I sat for a minute and thought about loosing my husband, friends who have lost loved ones and what time gives to you. Emily conveys this beautiful in a wonderful novel. I cannot wait for 10 years from now to see how this talented author grows in her writing. She is one of the best writers I have ever read.
Wow! All I can say is that Emily has managed to do it, again. This book had me reading from page one until the end, and I still wanted more. While I didn't read it in one sitting, I easily could have if my time allowed for it. I love these new characters, all of them. They have my heart just as those in Pearson's other series 'Moving Forward'. I can't stop gushing because it's true. Emily has a magic touch for this thing we call writing. I am so happy she can share with the world! I hope that she keeps writing that wordsmith magic because, I want to keep reading it! This book will be available June 30, 2015. Will you be reading it on release day? Give it a read, won't you? :)
This is a first read of this author's work for me and it was a good one. The plot moved very quickly and I felt an immediate emotional connection to Gracie and Brent. I would have liked to see more of the sub characters developed more early on because as the focus shifted in the book, sub characters became more important and there wasn't the character base established for me to feel strongly connected. With a few additional scenes, I think this book could have easily been a five star read for me however, all in all, it was still a good read.
When Gracie Hart comes home one night to find her husband,Brent laying dead on the couch from a gun shot her world falls apart. Her best friend Chase is their to help her get thru the grieving process. Their friend Ryan, is there some times and is dealing with problems of his own for serving his country in the military. Thru the course of time and friendship a contemporary, suspense story emerges along with a new love perhaps. Emily Pearson has done a great job of telling Gracie's story.
Suspense, drama and romance meet in this amazing story. Great characters make this story come alive. Definitely hard to put down once you start! You will want to devour this book in one sitting. Note the version I read had a few minor editing issues which could very well be fixed by the time you pick up a copy!
I loved it. It was such a good book. This is the first book I have read by Emily R Pearson but I am sure it will not be the last. Chasing Gracie is the type of book that just makes you feel good after reading it.
