Some good descriptive writing setting tone and atmosphere, though also a few mistakes, which was annoying, as was the type-setting, which on my Kindle put few words on each page even when I minimised the font to the smallest size and reduced the line-spacing - of course this may not be the case with other e-readers.
There are three complete stories in this volume. This review relates to the first two, because I've yet to get round to reading the last one.
The first novella 'His' had shades of 'Fifty Shades' in the damaged young man who uses domination over submissive young women to heal himself, and the older woman who had previously taught him to be submissive when he was sixteen. It was a quick easy read and enjoyable enough, but on balance, I found the second story 'Protect and Serve' to be less derivative, and therefore more entertaining, though it felt slightly rushed overall, and would have benefitted from better-rounded character development to make the main protagonists more engaging.
Although not bad, I can't say that this was entirely good either... perhaps slightly better than okay, so 2.5 stars, rounded up.
