I decided to read A Distant Feeling by Les Wood because the description made it sound interesting. This was a very short read, about 6 minutes long. But is was about assisted suicide.

"What ifs" are almost always fascinating, but even more fascinating is being reminded that people react differently to them; here we have "what if we could hear the thoughts of every single person around us".

Meh. I got this book for free on Amazon. It was a very short read taking only 6ish minutes but be warned it is about assisted suicide. Wouldn't really recommend it as a read. I didn't know that going into it.

Death

I guess if that's what a person wants, then it's okay for that person. I however, want to live and experience all that life has to offer!! I see you!

Promotes suicide as a way out

Suicide is listed as a way out of sorrow verses helping someone find solutions in the quiet.
Not recommended reading as despair is not the answer.

You're A Mindreader

This brief story enjoys an appealing narrator in Chrissie, whose elegaic voice is a pleasure to read. Her ability to perceive and in one case respond to another person's thoughts is handled with diplomacy and discretion; too much, perhaps, since talents of that kind would be attended by more mutual embarrassment than we meet in the text. I think the story is too curtailed to delve into the issues of parapsychology, and its climax (find that out for yourselves) slightly misaligned with the main concerns. But the curse of knowing more about your fellow humans than you can bear is thoughtfully turned over, and wanting more from a writer isn't a serious complaint. WeIl worth downloading, especially for the prose

An incredible piece of work that deals with a touchy subject with grace and dignity. I'm blown away. I would read anything of his now.
