Cain’s had a bad, bad day. All he wants is some candy to sweeten his mood, but what he gets instead is an unexpected dinner invitation from a stranger. Denny’s fond of cherry sours, too, but he thinks Cain needs more than candy to smooth out the rough edges in his life, and he’s perfectly happy to give it to him. As Cain’s insecurities vanish along with his inhibitions, the two of them discover that you can go from being strangers to being very close in no time at all.
*Publisher's Note: This is a revised and updated version of a previously released title
Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."
A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.
Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.
Cain and Denny are a great couple, and I really enjoyed reading the story about their first meeting again in this rereleased version of ‘Cherry Sours’. It’s a very sexy book, with two men who initially bond mostly on a physical level. They are also well matched emotionally and psychologically, but this is more of a suspicion on Denny’s part, and a total surprise for Cain. They quickly set about experimenting and finding out more about their mutual attraction, which makes for lots of man-on-man action.
Cain has had a bad day. He has no idea if he still has a job and all he wants is to go home, eat dinner, and get drunk. Instead he runs into Denny in the sweets aisle and is off for a real adventure before he knows it. Cain lives in his head a lot, worries about everything, and has a hard time in the competitive work environment. He isn’t really spontaneous, and has no idea why he reacts to Denny’s craziness the way he does. Cain only knows one thing for sure: he ends up loving what Denny does to him in and out of bed.
Denny knows exactly what he wants, and when he runs into Cain, he decides to go for it. Denny may write technical manuals for a living, but he has an extremely vivid imagination and some definite ideas about what he wants to do to Cain. He is definitely pushy about it, but sensitive enough to know when to pull back just a little to let Cain catch his breath. Denny’s preference for shaved men is a bit of an obsession, but Cain quickly figures out that anything Denny does to him results in lots of – fun.
If you like men who dive straight into a sexual relationship almost from the moment they meet, if one partner being strong and decisive, and the other just discovering he may be a submissive sounds interesting, and if you’re looking for a hot and sexy read with lots of physical action, then you will probably like this short story.
Okay, so I knew what I was getting into here. But the idea of it versus actually reading it, we’re two different things. It was hard to get through, for me. I felt like it was a bit immature (meet a stranger in a candy store?) and the plot was underwhelming (which I do expect with this type of book) but I just couldn’t get into the characters. I’m no prude obviously, but I wasn’t overwhelmed by the smut. Perhaps it was because the characters were strangers? Not sure.
There are fourbooks with the Cain and Denny story. All together they make one good book. The only problem that I have is that there is not a really good transaction from one book to another. Too muuch happens from on book to the next. It is like you have been gone from their lives for several months and you have just dropped back in. They continued with their daily lives while you were gone. Even with all of that I would say take the weekend and a warm cup of coffee and enjoy the love story. I just love good romance novels. I am such a romantic with all my reading.
I love this series! I like Denny and Cain. I loved how Cain literally followed Denny home. His sweet innocence and wanting what Denny has to offer even though he is almost scared to take it. There is just something about the way Denny takes charge sweeping Cain along understanding his need, being the kind of Dom he needs.
Honestly--the hottest thing I have ever read--I am off to read some more of Deny and Cain's story--I will write an overall review when I am finished the series as these are very short! But oh so worth it!
Picked up in the candy isle. Very cute. Denny has to do a little cajoling, but Cain follows him home. Cain's innocence is sweet. Denny's shaving kink.....okay, it was hot.
There are 5 short stories in this series - the first 4 are about Cain and Denny, sweet and toppy. Lots of kinky shaving and sex around a cute story. Light, fun and very entertaining reading!
I just love this story of Cain and Denny. Denny just steps right in and takes charge from the moment they met up and give Cain exactly what he needs. Can't wait to read more of this series.
