4.25/5...This was such a fun, atmospheric read! I really enjoyed the blend of Greek mythology, romance, and supernatural tension, and the whole story had that addictive quality that made me want to keep turning the pages. The slow-burn romance was definitely a highlight for me. The chemistry between Mia and Hades had plenty of tension, and I loved the push-and-pull dynamic between them. Their bond created so many opportunities for deliciously awkward proximity, emotional vulnerability, and moments where neither of them quite knew what to do with the feelings developing between them. Hades was especially entertaining—powerful, intimidating, and yet surprisingly layered. I also really enjoyed the mythology-inspired worldbuilding. It felt familiar enough to draw me in while still having its own twists and rules. The atmosphere had a nice dark, romantic quality without losing the sense of adventure, and I appreciated the supernatural elements woven throughout the story. Mia was easy to root for, particularly because of how much her choices were driven by love and desperation. I liked seeing her navigate consequences that were far bigger than she initially expected, while gradually finding her own strength along the way. The found-family elements were another lovely addition and gave the story some warmth amid all the darker moments.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow what a fun take on hades and the mythology in this beautifully written book. I love how Mia is a strong independent woman and I love the different take she took on hades. Great book and great read

I was blown away by this debut novel. The author knows her Greek mythology and utilizes it very well throughout the book. The plot is fresh and compelling. A new take on who Hades is versus who he has been perceived to be by all forms of media throughout the centuries. I also loved that the FMC, Mia, is such a strong woman in her own right. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Mia and Hades, as well as the other characters that make up this story. My understanding of Greek mythology was tested and found a little wanting, but I appreciated the challenge and the fact that the book caused me to do my own research. I enjoyed the support systems that our main characters have, not just in each other, but in their families as well. There are always going to be trials and tribulations, and some of them will be intense, especially if there are gods involved, but the love of true family is amazing. It is shown so well in this story. I truly hope we get more and cannot wait to see how this world and story are expanded.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved how it didn’t take me 100 pages to get into the story — I was hooked from the start. The chemistry between the characters was probably my favourite part. I loved the tension and the slow development of their relationship.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and would recommend it to anyone who loves dark, mythology-inspired romance, morally grey characters, and slow-burn tension.

If anything, my biggest complaint is that I need the next book NOW. 😅
