Confessions Of a Wild Heart

Rate this book
US Army PFC Jase Emery, on leave in Germany, sees Ase Ramirez for the first time with a camera to his face. Ase’s wild child ways provide a welcome distraction for Jase. But their weekend of fun ends abruptly when Ase’s conservative family catches them. Through email, Ase and Jase are able to keep the link open. But that too comes to an end.

Jase was never able to live up to his parent’s expectations like his brother was. He didn’t stay and work the family ranch, or marry. He saw the world. His return from serving in the Army changed nothing, he wanted to be free to live his own life. But the death of his father and his mother’s failing health force him to come home, hide his bisexuality, and live a life in the closet as a local Sheriff Deputy so he can take care of his family. This was to be his life… Until Ase returns.

After his family caught Ase and Jase together, Ase worked hard at getting the heat off himself. His occasional thoughts of Jase and their amazing weekend dwindle as life and family take the forefront and fear drives Ase to make huge mistakes.

When Ase and Jase come face to face again, it isn’t easy. Insecurities, and a hurt that have only grown with time make it hard to see the future. Can their friendship blossom into something more? With Ase’s wild side reappearing from the shadows and major trust issues, can he and Jase, with huge obstacles of his own, learn to forgive, move on, and find a peace they both so desperately want… together?

Kade Boehme is the epitome of dorkdom, only watching TV when Rachel Maddow or one of his sports teams is on. Most of his free time is spent dancing, arguing politics or with his nose in a book. He is also a hardcore Britney Spears fangirl and has an addiction to glitter.

It was after writing a short story about boys who loved each other for a less than reputable adult website that he found his true calling, and hopefully a bit more class. He hopes to write about all the romance that he personally finds himself allergic to but that others can fall in love with. He maintains that life is real and the stories should be, as well.

3.5 Stars!

In a single word, this one was FRUSTRATING!

Pull my hair out, stomp my feet, shake my head frustrating. And mostly it was at Ase. I just never found that guy likable. I didn't understand his decisions!

This one was set up in three parts. I really really liked part 1, where Jase and Ase meet in Munich and share a weekend together.....before they're caught by Ase's family.

And let me tell you what I think about Ase's family, and Jase's for that matter.

Ruined the book for me. They were awful.

Part 2 of the book occurs 4 years later, where Ase and Jase find their way back to each other.

This part......EMOTIONALLY DRAINING!

The hate, the back and forth.....all of it. I was exhausted.

The reveals from Ase...

By the time I got to part 3.....part of me didn't even care what happened. I'm too frustrated and exhausted to care. They spent 90% of the book apart. Not a fan.

So yeah, this was not my favorite Kade read. Still a fan though, this one just didn't work for me.

Confessions of a Wild Heart by Kade Boehme is the story of two men who are thrown together by fate.

 photo image.jpg1_zpsntygj9n8.jpg

Jase comes from a small Texan town and is expected to follow in his parent's steps blindly. Unfortunately, what his heart wants is not what his parent's envision. He loves his family and wants nothing more than to make them happy, but at what cost to himself? While on duty he takes a brief leave to visit Germany and while there he meets Ase, a young man trying to get a small taste of freedom from his responsibilities.

Ase is a young Hispanic/American who from a young age has been saddled with his family's dreams for him. They have put all their dreams and expectations on him and will stop at nothing to make sure that he fulfills them. Ase decides to take a trip to Germany before going into his residency for medical school.

While on this trip they both let go of all their fears and responsibilities and were able to simply be themselves. Sadly their time together ends abruptly when they are discovered by Ase's homophobic family and they won't see each other again for four years. During those four years though life was not kind and terrible things take place.

What I loved:
*The main characters. I fell in love with them. All I wanted was to shelter them and tell them it would be ok.
*The chemistry between the main characters.
*Dustin & Lacey. Loved that they were there for their friends no matter the cost to their hearts.
*Character development and growth.
*The dialogue. Kade Boehme probably has some of the best dialogue. Very natural and witty.
*Great story flow.
*It's told from a dual POV.
*Steam. Although, this story is more character driven- the intimate scenes are delicious.
*It has a realistic end.
*Loved that this book kicked me in the stomach and stomped all over my heart, but in the end put me back together and filled me with hope.

I think this is one of Kade Boehme's best books. Be warned though- he takes it back to his angsty roots with this one. It's not light like his past couple of releases and it will frustrate the heck out of you at times. All worth it at the end though!

Overall, this was a 5 Star read. It's Boehme at his angsty best!

This book consist of three parts. The first one is my favourite. Jase and Ase meet in Munich, during Jase's leave from the Army and Ase's visit to his uncles. The chemistry between them is off the charts and together they live a passionate weekend. Until they 're ripped apart, when Ase's family catches them.

I fell in love with Ase in this part. So passionate and full of life, bold and unbashed, he shows the reserved Jase what it feels to let go.

Four years fast forward and Ase is an asshole. I mean it, the same Ase I loved in the first part is now a major prick. After a chance meeting he keeps treating Ase like dirt, giving him shit because he's partly in the closet. I admit that I got really pissed at him and the story at this point. Until I learn what happened to him.

Family plays a big role in this story, from both sides. Not the supportive kind, but the kind that scars you for life. The kind that goes way too far to "fix" the gay person. So far, that their actions can be considered a crime. You think these things happen only in fiction or the movies? Sadly, they 're not.

Ase and Jase are , unfortunately, victims of their family and the circumstances, and their relationship suffers.

The third part is the conclusion. If I had to use only one word to describe it, it would be real. Because things don't just fix themselves in a magic way, because you can't form or keep a relationship without fighting and discussing things thoroughly and because you have to heal yourself first if you want to stand a chance.

Although emotionally exhausting, I really enjoyed this and I totally believed in the HEA. And, please, Dustin must get a story! I loved him.

NOTE: I never rate books based on editing. I'm not comfortable with doing so, since English is not my mother tongue and I make plenty mistakes myself. I did notice ,though, some editing mistakes here and most importantly, the names of the MCs were swapped multiple times. It didn't bother me, but it did threw me out of the story and I can understand this is a pet peeve for many people. Just wanted to point it out, because K.Boehme is becoming an amazing writer and it's a shame for his books to get low ratings because of this.

4.5 stars.

I was Kade's beta for this book. He has all the emails and texts cataloging my reactions to the story as the plot unfolds. I cried. I raged. I held my breath.

I rejoiced.

Both Jase and Ase have some serious issues. Young men when they first meet, they are torn apart by homophobia and violent acts.

Four years later, they get a second chance. I won't spoil this for you - just know that I think you should read this.

Whoever complained about Kade's last book being too fluffy - you only have yourself to blame. There's not a lick of fluff in this one.

Obviously, I read this for free. This is still my unbiased opinion.

I read a lot of books. I’ve read a lot of Kade Boehme’s books. This one has to be one of his best. Ase is layers upon layers. The depth Kade gives this character is breathtaking. Jase and Ase are not Prince Charmings and this story isn’t a typical fairytale. It’s gritty, heartbreaking, consuming, and profound.
This world is bigger than we give it credit for. There are things that happen out there, in the dark that we don’t realize. Jase and Ase are both on a journey. There’s shady times, there’s bright times, and there is life changing times. What happens when you meet someone who is meant for you but getting to that happily ever after feels almost impossible? Jase can’t fight Ase’s demons when his own are trying to drag him down.
I adore how Kade is so spot on with every emotion and situation. The flow for Confessions of a Wild Heart is flawless.
I sat in the middle of my bed, wine, used tissues, and a lot of cursing. Ice cream was my balm LOL. I love being that affected by a book. I love crying with the characters, living, loving, breaking. It takes one hell of an author to pull out these feelings and come full circle.
I just don’t feel this review does this book justice. I want it to so badly. You really need to experience it. I mean that, experience it. It’s so much more than just a story.

I adore Kade's writing, and this was no exception. The storyline is solid. LOVE the reunited lovers trope. But........there were a lot of editing issues. Especially toward the end. Many times where names were swapped for the other MC, and it really took me out of the scene. I wanted to give 3.5 because there were enough of those times to grate on me, but the writing was great, so I rounded up.

Confessions of a Wild Heart is Kade Boehme's newest story and I really loved it. Both MC's are strong, on the outside, but they're both hiding in many ways and unsure of themselves. That vulnerability just drew me in and kept me engaged the whole way through the book.

Jase Emery is from a small town in Texas with a family that never seems to think he is good enough. Jase joined the Army to get money for college and to get away from his small town for a while to breathe, but after a couple tours in the Sand Box, he doesn't really want to make a career of the Army, as much as he does really like the structure. Jase is bisexual and he never felt like he could really be himself at home. Not that the Army is much better, in that regard, but one thing at a time, yeah?

Jase is working on his last tour and decides, for once, to take his leave and travel around Europe, instead of going home. And while in Munich, he meets Ase. They have the most amazing (and hot, oh lord was it hot!) weekend.

Ase Ramirez is a Mexican-American in Germany staying with family who are military and stationed there. He's a med student and Ase really struggles with being himself and dealing with a family that looks upon homosexuality as being a disease. On the outside he seems really fearless and fierce, with his tattoos and his happy-go-lucky attitude. But dealing with and trying to maintain the expectations from his overbearing (and I am being kind) family takes its toll.

There are three parts to Confessions of a Wild Heart, the first of which is my favorite. when Ase and Jase first meet in Munich. It was a short weekend, but I really connected with both characters and their chemistry was off the charts hot and delicious.

The second part comes four years later, when life has gotten complicated for both of them and they fell out of touch long ago. Their reunion is rocky, to say the least, and Ase is in a pretty bad head space. So much happened after that wonderful weekend in Munich and Ase's life has spiraled a bit out of control. Yeah, he's a doctor, now, but that isn't the life he would have chosen for himself. And Ase has built a wall around himself to keep anyone from getting in. He's not happy and he has no idea how to go about getting out of the life he has found himself in.

And Jase is existing. He's not happy, either, being back home. At least in San Antonio he could have some semblance of a life. In his super tiny small town, he doesn't have much. He moved back to help take care of the ranch and his mom, after her stroke, but happy he is not.

And the third part is where they both finally figure things out. And they work on being a couple. We get our happy ending and an Ase who is finally at peace with himself and a lot more sorted out.

I would really love to see a story for Dustin. He was a fuck buddy of Ase's when Ase moved to Abernathy. I didn't want to like Dustin at all, but dammit, he was such a good guy throughout the story. He encouraged Ase to work things out with Jase and he is a man that isn't afraid to be himself. He deserves a happy ending of his own, and I'm thinking Jase's Army buddy Ryan might just be able to give it to him. Oh, please please please?

5+++ Beautiful - outstanding.
A heartwrenching story about two beautiful extremely strong man who survived life.
The way this book is written.... I'm in awe.
The story is so beautifully put together I only can express in extremes and hyperbole.
The locations, the personalities, the awful family issues all was so well woven together.
The timeline worked so very well. No hurry, exactly the time they need.
About 75% this story made me somewhat sad because I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
And God did it drop. That was making this story so exquisite. Life was hard for them, they suffer so much, but god....
You only can fall in love with the characters. They rise above themselves.
Ase and Jase If i could meet them I would worship them.

Oh dear...
Let's start with what I loved about the book:
1. The cover! Beautiful!
2. The model on the cover... Yum!
3. The first 20% or so, of the book.

What I didn't like:
1. After the great start it just drag and drag and draaaggg.
2. I liked both MCs from the beginning, but they got on my nerves very shortly after that good start.
I could understand Jase's issues and I was also OK with Ase having secrets (not with Ase's secrets) as a story line, but they both needed to take their heads out of their asses!!
3. For most of the book Ase and Jase are not together, and I really hated wishing that they will "just get on with it!"
4. The last 25%... Soap opera is not a strong enough word to describe it.

My Review:

How can you tell when a book is good? When you finish it and you have tears in your eyes and a smile on your face. This was that book for me. *happy sigh*

There is so much to love in this book. It's broken into three sections. The first is the moment the guys met and connected which covers about 24 hours in Munich, while they were both visiting. This section is sexy and fun and while it's obvious that both the guys have issues waiting for them at home, it's a sweet stage...that first connection. For Jase, it's truly the first time in his life that he's allowed himself to be out and proud. Life in Texas and then the military hasn't allowed for that. I loved the vulnerability for Jase in that first connection. Ase is stronger, more confident, and has a sexier edge, but I immediately fell for Jase and his inner-conflict over being bi-sexual. (I'm from Texas and then spent 20 years with my husband in the military and can understand where he's coming from.)

The second section is much harder. It takes place four years later when Ase and Jase cross paths again. While not completely settled and happy with his life, Jase is much more confident in who he is and the choices he makes. Ase is not. Ase in this section made my heart hurt and a lot of that was just from the vagueness of it all. It's obvious that something went bad for him after Munich...he's just not the same guy and hints at that in his inner-dialogue. And as the two get deeper and deeper involved, you can feel the tension ratcheting up because you know it's all about to explode in their faces.

And then is section three which I'm not going to talk too much about because...no spoilers. Just know I spent a lot of this section much like I was when I hit the words THE END...with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes.

I love these two characters together. They have a great flirty chemistry which makes them so much fun to read. They come from completely different backgrounds, but their issues within their family dynamic are very similar. They can each relate to what the other is going through...even when it causes conflict between them. It's part of why I fell in love with both of them...they each need a hug and the other to keep them safe. But at times it was hard to understand those ties to family that kept them there even when all their families did was hurt them. I wanted them to lash out at the people who continued to hurt them all in the name of family...ugh. I don't understand how homophobia can cause a person to hate a person in their family. How? It hurts to read about families like this, but unfortunately this is a very real reality for people and that makes me sad. But I'm getting off-track.

This book...it's good. Extremely readable and entertaining. I loved Ase with his bad-boy vibe, but vulnerable center and then Jase with his Texas drawl, his oh so non-PC reactions, and the fact that he's a good guy...just doesn't have a very good game face. I liked watching them come to grips with exactly who they are and finding a comfortable place within that. The final scene with Jase at the club and his little reveal will keep me smiling for many days to come. Sweet moments...I love books that have them like this.

Another winner from Kade Boehme. I recommend you grab it!

Jase and Ase...a complex story from one of my go-to authors. Bigoted parents (on both sides), a young man from a Latino background who was forced to do something by his family that was just...WRONG on so many levels, and a guy who came out of the Army and knew that he didn't want to go back to working on his parent's farm and being pressured to marry, and joined the police force...where surprisingly he was welcomed and not shunned.

This story was all about acceptance...Jase needing to come to terms with the fact that he was bi-sexual and could fall in love with guys as well as girls and his mother needing to accept that his sexuality was nothing to do with her, and Ase, well he had SO much going on in his life but had HUGE secrets, and for him to accept his 'other self' and be true to it, meant that he had to turn his back on the medical career his family pushed him into and do what HE wanted to do. How did these two guys ever get together in the first place, and did they finish what they'd started?? Well, you'll have to read the story to find out.

Quite a few typos, and not my favourite of Kade's stories, but a good read nevertheless. 4 stars.

Ok first...just...wow!
Jase and Ase had some fantastic chemistry but also an almost instant connection between them. Even being from different cultures and different life paths there was a tangible link between them.

Ase just broke my heart. He was so full of life when we first meet him, so sure of himself.
I seriously loved these two, wanted to coddle them and smack them at the same time.

I don't want to say too much or give anything away because it's story best learned and felt by reading it.

Kade has done it again!! And I'm not surprised, he has a way with words that just makes you feel.

OH and so nice to see a small glimpse of Chance and Bradley!!!

By far this was Kade's best book to date. I loved previous books written is collaboration with other authors, but this was his baby, and I absolutely loved it! Too bad I couldn't give it a pure 5 star rating! 4.5 stars rounded to 5 seems like good enough, but I feel bad for it anyways, not to mention a slight feeling of disappointment. This book needed a little more editing! Most of the things weren't that bad, and it wasn't really worth mentioning, but once the characters' names got all mixed up, during a sex scene nonetheless, I got frustrated. But I loved this book enough to round it up instead of rounding it down.

I loved Jase and Ase from the beginning, and while Ase seemed like a carefree character and individual, he surprised me. I loved how Kade managed to give his characters a lot of depth while making life difficult and unpredictable for them, without inserting a lot of needless drama just for the sake of it. This book hit all the right spots for me, it was pretty much perfect aside from the issues I mentioned before. The characters were well developed, layered, unique, unpredictable and adorable. I loved them both to pieces. Nothing came easy to them, they really had to work for every damn thing, including their relationship, but I loved how it was all done! Kudos to Kade, I can tell this story came from the bottom of his heart; this is one of those cases where a story told itself instead of it being fabricated by the writer, and I can't praise enough the difference it makes for the reader.

I'm afraid from now on I'll expect this lever of writing from this author, because once I know an author is capable of greatness, I want it all the time.

I liked this emotional, heartwarming and slightly angsty read. It’s beautifully told and I fell immediately for the MCs. Ase and Jase both have their own burdens zu carry, they are both so damaged.

The writing style is entertaining and the story is touching. Kade really reminded me that life can be bitter, it can be harsh and unfair, but at the same time he showed me that it's never too late to hope for a second chance.

I’m not native English/American and most of the time I don’t care when stories have editing issues, this time, though even I have noticed the typos. A few times the names were swapped (perhaps because of the similarity?) and I had to re-read the scenes because I got lost.

Recommended to readers who want more than fluff and sugary sweetness. Are you in the mood for deep emotions and don’t fear a little angst? Then go for it. :)

Ok so it's no secret that Kade is one author that I one click with out a second thought. Man oh man am I glad that I one clicked this beauty. Ase and Jase are the epitome of finding love in a hopeless place. From begining to the end, it was everything. The love, the pain, and not being able to live the life you want, just did something to me. This book took my heart and squeezed..... right up until the end!!! Pick up this book you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the getaway..

Wow! These two guys had horrible parents. I mean seriously horrible! But they had an instant bond. A connection that went beyond insta-lust. It was beautiful. Even though they had a lot of crap to wade through before they could move on to being together in love. Great story!

Confessions of a Wild Heart is another brilliant story by Kade I'm really thinking this is my fav so far it's so emotional and at times it tears at my heart so much for everything these two had to go through. But again Kade gives us the perfect amount of angst and drama until our heart is happy again.

Jase is from a small town in Texas which he really hated and growing up with his father always telling him he wasn't man enough and being Bi Sexual in small town Texas was not something that was easily accepted so he ended up joining the U.S. Army and away from everything back home. With only six months left to serve Jase decides to spend his last leave doing some traveling on his own rather than going back to his family farm as he usually did.

Ase is a sexy Latino from a very strict catholic family and he is staying with family in Germany and enjoying his photography before he returns home to become a doctor as his family insists he does.

While visiting Munich Jase and Ase meet by chance while Ase is busy taking pictures and Jase is unknowingly photographed they both have an instant chemistry and hit it off and share some hot times in between the sheets that is until Ase's family members catch them and things end in disaster.

After time both guys stay in touch through email for months then all contact is severed with both never forgetting their time together.

Four years pass and so much happens and Ase ends up in the sane town as Jase doing his medical residency but when they both meet up again things don't go well... Too much time and heart ache has happened but will these two be able to heal from their pasts? Will time heal all wounds?

You will have to read and see because I do not want to spoil this journey between these two it's an emotional roller coaster and at times I wanted to shake each one and tell them to talk open up and just go for it.

I have to admit there were parts I laughed the nick names these two had for each other were hilarious and when they do get together WOW my kindle melted.

So go one click this baby now and don't miss another great story by Kade.

This book!
I'm a big fan of all of Kade's books, but this is his best work as far as I am concerned.
I loved the depth of these characters. Telling it in three parts really worked too. But oh my goodness the angst was strong in parts! There were times I wanted to slap some sense into these men, and yell at them both to just talk damn it!
Ase... Oh Ase, he had me swooning, then furious, then absolutely devastated. This is one character who will stay with me for a long time.
If I were to be absolutely picky, I would say that I would have liked a little more on the dynamics of Ase's family, just a few more details on that side of things. But seriously, that's me searching for something!
Brilliantly done Kade!

Mmmmmno.

"You are being a weird stalker again, ese."
"You know ese is kind of offensive when white people say it right?"

No tengo la más chula idea de qué habla. ¿Qué es "ese"?

I think this story will rank up there as one of the best books by this author. The characters were so multi layered, so complex, it works on so many levels. I LOVED this book. From the first page to the last, I was glued to my kindle. I am a huge fan of this author's work, and I was not disappointed at all. This is a very well constructed story. The obstacles thrown in Ase and Jase's way made it so difficult for them to be their authentic selves. It broke my heart to think that if only these two had been loved for who they were by the people who were supposed to love them most, the would not have been as damaged as they were.

Jase hated his home life growing up. His father always cut him down for not being manly enough. And when he tried to be just that, by going into the military and then becoming a cop, they called him selfish for leaving the family farm. Only his brother was good enough because he stayed in their small Texas town and lived the life their parents wanted him to live. Everything Jase did rubbed his parents the wrong way. Being bisexual was just a phase to them. He had to settle down and raise a family. Even after coming home on leave every single time he had it, the one time he decided to do something for himself, they complained. He could not win.

Ase is a sexy Latino gay man in a very Catholic household. His parents wanted him to go to college and be a doctor. They reminded him every chance they got that they sacrificed for him to have the opportunity to do so. When they found out he was gay, they hounded him more. They believed they could marry him off and beat the gay out of him. They never accepted him for who he was. And he loved them, which makes it twice as tragic. Family was everything to him. Their abuse caused tremendous damage to Ase.

When they met by chance in Germany, Ase and Jase hit it off right from the get go. The chemistry between them was unlike anything either man had had before. But when their plans are cut short by Ase's family, they didn't stay connected by e mail for too long. Left as a memory, both men moved on with their lives. Bad things happened, and when they come together again four years later, can anything be restored from their brief encounter? Or has too much time passed and too many bad things that happened between those times changed them? Should they just go their separate ways? Or is it possible that their chemistry can overcome their demons?

This book will put you through the wringer. But it is so worth it! These two amazing young men have to overcome so much to find a little piece of happiness. Their story will warm your heart while making you so mad at what has been done to each of them. Sometimes home isn't where the heart is. Yet.

I'm not really sure how to rate this - I guess it was enjoyable enough overall, but there were quite a few things that caught my attention while I was reading that niggled.

First of all - why on earth are their names Jase and Ase?! This was so confusing...especially towards the second half of the book where I noticed the editing seemed to get a little worse and sometimes their names were written wrong - so Jase was written when it was clearly Ase that was meant! Unnecessarily confusing.

It was very melodramatic - like a soap opera in fact - I'm not really into that much drama - there were just SO MANY issues crammed into this - it felt like everything was being thrown at the story. I think it could have worked much better by just picking one or two for each of them. Instead we have a new drama or tragedy or "big secret" unfolding every few pages! Despite all the dramas, the angst wasn't really that high - despite some silly arguing early on when they were reunited, and then a couple of other separations (which I actually thought were written well, as the time passing was conveyed without us having to read large portions of the book with the main characters separated), for the most part they dealt with all the stuff like adults and actually talked things through instead of having any major misunderstandings.

Something strange that I noticed - there was a random mention of something in Ch 21 that I have absolutely no recollection of seeing anything about before, which I am certain I would have remembered from earlier in the book. I can only assume this additional dramatic bombshell was possibly edited out in the earlier chapters but then it was left in by mistake in the later part of the book?

Finally, I have to say I wasn't keen on the ending - the last couple of chapters were slow going, drawn out and I wanted there to be something more, but instead it felt almost like it was just petering out...

I feel I need to apologise for this review being pretty negative, as usually I try and keep them quite balanced with what I liked and disliked. It's not like I hated this book, there were definitely things I enjoyed about this - enough to make me finish and enough that I would give other books by this author a go - but now that I come to writing the review its these points above that come to mind.

This was an incredibly amazing story about two young men with different backgrounds and hidden secrets that haunt them for years. The two meet while traveling in Munich, Germany. Jase is in the US Army with 6 months to go, then going back to college for his Criminal Justice degree, and Ase, staying with family while he studies photography and goes back into Med School. Their initial meeting was during a sightseeing trip, with Ase taking pictures of Jase, in a manner of stalking. When the trip ends Ase catches Jase's attention and they decide to have a beer and some food. But the first day of encounters ends up to be kind of a tease. But they get together the next evening at a gay bar and their initial attraction explodes. The chemistry between the two is Sizzling Hot!! And one of them loses his virginity. At the end of the night, events turn to disaster when Jase's family sees the two together outside the hotel. This is an eye opening journey for the two of them. They maintain email contact for 8 months, but the two go their own ways until 4 years later. Jase, is a sheriff's deputy in Texas, and Ase, is a Resident MD, in the same town. Odds are they would eventually meet in an awkward situation. The two have never forgotten each other and the struggle to try and repair what was lost begins. The two struggle with families and the past to make some semblance of a relationship. These two men are amazing, loving, strong characters. The story line was brilliantly done and the surprises are phenomenal. If you like MM Love/Romance/Hot Sex, you will love this one. Kade has done an amazing, realistic job like so many of his novels. Highly recommend this one.

Confessions of a Wild Heart is broken into three sections. The first centers around a young Jase and Ase and their short whirlwind romance that ended in heartbreak.

As tough as the first section was, the second was in a way even harder. Jase was forced back to his family’s ranch. He had tried so hard to strike out on his own. To become his own person and live his life away from all the judgement and shame. He was loyal to his family though, regardless of their opinion of him. Then he ran into Ase… within miles of where he lived. The fact that he hadn’t made a move to contact him was beyond his understanding. I have to admit, even I was confused by that realization. There was a lot more to both of their stories though.

I’m not sure which one of these guys I felt more for. This book was a perfect illustration of both physical and psychological scarring. In my opinion, neither one is acceptable. Ase had the physical scars and Jase had the emotional ones. The mom in me wanted to lash out at all the people who had caused them pain. To help them fight back and to let them know that they weren’t alone or wrong.

Part three… well, I can’t really go into detail about what happens next, but I can say it makes everything that Jase and Ase go through worth it… almost. There’s some closure and more than a little pain, but there’s also hope, which is more than either one of these two had at the beginning of their story.

As usual the story starts off really well, and then somewhere in the 35% range it starts to drag. Like most K.Boehme books it deals heavily with closeted people. This was a bit over the top in certain areas. For one I'd like to read about two people who are out, open, and care free with their sexuality. I yearn for something like Trouble & the Wallflower to date it's my all time favorite by him. It gets a bit much to not roll your eyes that everyone has to be a martyr and make their family happy by not being themselves. Both guys equally got on my nerves. Ase more than Jase. His family drama was a bit much. I did like the little surprise that Kade threw in there regarding Ase. I didn't see alot of his personal demons coming. It was a nice side twist. I guess I'd been happier if they had come together sooner, and allowed the readers to see them happy for a change in a different setting. I would have appreciated it more. Poor Jase, goodness he was like walking Tension. I don't know if he knows what happiness truly is. It's like his whole being as angsty.

Kade! Kade! Kade! what you do to me? Emotional read. I love Ase and Jase. From the moment they met their chemistry was off the pages. Then you tore my heart out suffering with them. Jase's family was bad but Ase's family were criminal in their treatment of him. Their journey was not easy nor fast. They had to work at overcoming the psychic harm caused by their families. They had to work at being whole before they could ever think about being together. A journey for them. A journey for me the reader. Everything I could want in a book. My heart is still in their story. I don't want to let them go.

Minor quibbles. More sex would have been appreciated, but I understand the struggle these guys had to deal with, together and separate. I also would have loved more of Alicia. The ending was so sweet and sexy at the same time so forget any minor quibbles I might have had.

A heart touching sexy read with depth of characters and depth of story. I could not put it down. Thanks again Kade for another wonderful story.
