Cord Triggert is a new cop in Hidden Hills, he has an ability that hasn't been seen and although it is a great asset in his job, he feels like he might be a freak since it has never been heard of.....Cord can shift into both a bear, or a panther at will, with no beaming light and without shedding his clothes. But he also feels that he might not be mate material until he goes to the hospital and catches the sweetest scent he has ever had and realizes Piper is his mate. Problem is she is human and it might be even worse if he were to approach her, she will probably think he is a total freak.
Piper catches sight of the new cop who saved her brother and hopes she might have a chance with a hunk like that, but what are the chances, he must have women hanging all over him? She knows all about shifters, her best friends are shifters. She would love to have a love like they do.
Will it all work out for these two lonely souls, or will Cord keep away from Piper in order to save her from all the craziness that comes with him.

The first 20-30% made sense - kind of -, but then everything after that was disjointed, weirdly paced and off the rails. It made no sense, there was no tension (at all, even in the beginning) and things had just kind of happened. The plot sort of just happened and the characters were just there. I found no reason to root for either of the MCs and wasn’t invested in anything that happened.
In fact I was hopping the brother would be murdered just for something interesting to happen, and to just get rid of him considering how useless he was and how hollow his character was. Overall he was an unnecessary character who could have been cut, because ultimately the ‘Brother owes gambling money to thugs’ story line was a stupid and thin.
Some of the dialogue and other grammar was also incredibly awkward and poorly written.
All in all it was a poorly written story that had an interesting premise but had fallen short in execution.

Cord is a lot of Shifter...
Cord is a Shifter unlike any I've read about before, able to shift into a panther, or a bear, at will, his story reflects that of so many people with a mixed heritage, feeling as if he is not one or the other, leaving him a freak on the outside of both communities.
Piper is a human nurse with some Shifter friends. She has an awareness of Shifters, but not a deep understanding, which just might mean she's in a position to be open-minded.
This done in one stand alone quick read touched on a lot of serious issues, yet maintained a sense of humor, and carried throughout a tone that everything we face can be handled, particularly when we are willing to accept help from those around us.

Amazing story about a shifter and a human
Cord is a cop who is also panther/bear shifter hybrid able to shift as either ome. He isn't sure he will have a mate because he is a hybrid until he met his mate while taking a victim to the hospital. He is Piper's brother. What will happen now?
The characters are unique, sexy, and lonely. This fast paced action drama makes a surprising story that I have not read before. I like the fact that Cord is able to change into the forms.
Highly recommended to the reader who truly like a unique story.

Cord is a very rare panther/bear shifter who can change into either at will. He is new to Hidden Hills police dept. having retired from the DEA. When he rescues a young human man from being attacked by 3 men and follows him to the emergency room to get his statement for his report, little does he know the young man's sister is the nurse and possibly his mate. Having a dual shifter side he knows she will not want anything to do with him, but stranger things can happen. This was a wonderful sweet story. Loved it.

It was a little 2 short. I loved it but I was kinda confused cause it doesn't really say if she became a shifter or not unlike with storm turning into one pretty fast after being a human. Hopefully her brother will find a mate with a shifter. And his buddy that he worked with is good that he was there 2 help them both xs that he was needed.

Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story. Piper is human and knows of shifters because her friends are shifters. Cord is a shifter but thinks he's a freak because he has two animals inside him. Piper shows him just how much he isn't a freak. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up

A very, very fast paced story. Cord and Piper literaly felt in love at First sightw. Add the threat Piper is facing, all of Cords protective senses steam at him to have her save. Very nice reading through this book.

Yes!! Yes!! Yes!! It is finally here! Book 4 in the Hidden Hills Shifters Series! I have loved this series since book 1 and was so happy when I saw that this had been released and even better, released early!
Vella Day has a unique way of writing shifter romances and I love it. She does not disappoint and this one was a great addition to her series. This is written as a multi pov in 3rd person (multi pov being my favorite).
Cord is a hot and sexy Panther shifter, he is also a Bear shifter. Yep, he can shift into both. That being said Cord feels low self esteem because he fears that no one will accept him because he is different. He of course has nothing to worry about when Piper blows into his life. Sparks fly, lust blooms and passions ignite when these two get close to each other and form a combustible combination that can be felt for miles around.
The characters are so engaging and draw you in quickly, their dialogue is entertaining and the descriptions of details are done well and easy to visualize. All in all, a fantastic read and now I have to sit and wait until the next one which if I had to take a guess, is going to be about Jackson and I can not wait!! This was a rather quick read and I would loved for there to have been more. I can not get enough of these sexy beasts.
This is book 4 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. Do I recommend that? Of course not! I love the whole series and would be sad if you didn't go back and read all of them. You will not be disappointed!

Since Cord and Piper mated and have had kids, their life has been extremely busy. They haven't had nearly enough time together and they need the alone time. So when a friend suggests taking her away for the weekend and offers to babysit, Cord snaps up the idea. His desperate to spend alone time with Piper, and he has something to ask her. But what he doesn't know is that she has a big surprise for him too.
This is the first book I've read in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This author has a great style of writing, her books are relaxed and easy to follow. I found the storyline entertaining and the characters are really sweet. The passion between the two is intense and that is evident by the way they reacted towards each other. Loved this follow up short story!

“Look at it and see,” she said, not wanting to give anything away just yet.
He picked it up and studied it, his jaw slowly dropping. “Is this what I think it is?”
While she studied ultrasounds for a living, even someone like Cord should be able to see a baby or two. “Yes.”
He lifted the paper closer to his face. “There are two things here.” He tore his gaze off the paper. “Don’t tell me these are ours cubs?”
Maybe she’d been wrong in going off the pill. “Do you want them to be?” Her pulse skipped a beat.
A grin spread across his face. “Are you fucking kidding me? Do I want children? Hell, yes, I do.”

Cord Triggert has his hands full went he goes to protect Piper Capshaw after her home is broken into and she is threatened. Both are hot headed but lust and fate drive them and pull them together. She is his mate and she wants to seduce him. This is one hot romance Cord doesn’t think he has a chance with Piper as his lineage is screwed up. He is a panther and a bear shifter and she is human. Once again the writing is fantastic and the romance is muy caliente. I give five bear/panther paws for a great storytelling.

Good book
Lots of action and a great story. The only thing I didn't like was that the author ended the book without giving any hint as to what happened to her brother. When I read books that don't tell you how something came out I find myself dreaming up different things that could have happened.

Cord is new in town. He is also a dual shifter and has reservations about his future and mating. Piper is human. Cord believes Piper is his mate but because of his insecurities he tries to keep his distance, until danger surrounds Piper and Cord needs to protect her. Will he be able to fight his attraction or will Piper break down his walls?

Characters don't behave consistently or realistically, one scene is a random POV change to a minor character, there's no plot resolution with the brother, too many loose ends for my liking, and too much new information thrown into the ending that made it feel like a new storyline in the 3rd act that should have been a separate story. This book needs some serious work.

Amazing, well written and beautifully hot
This book is captivating! I loved it from the first chapter! The characters are well developed and especially likable. The plot line was steady and the story was engaging. I loved the caring between the characters and the heat was just a bonus. You will love this book!

I loved this book, I couldn't put it down! I don't want to give any spoilers so I will just say this, it was unique and awesome! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes shifter books!!

Fast paced yet amazing read
