Evangeline loves Micah, Micah loves Evangeline, and it seems like a perfect Summer – so why is he acting off? Withdrawn, distant, not talking about whatever it is that’s bothering him. He won’t tell – and she won’t give up, not until she sees him smile again.

Set in the aftermath of Micah's book, it's nice to see these two happy. I liked that Ev got Micah to talk about his past and how she got him to see that he wasn't at fault for what happened while he was trying to survive.
This was an awesome glimpse into what happened after the end of MICAH.
Micah and Ev have been dating for two months and things are going mostly great. The only problem is Ev feels as if Micah is pulling away, and Micah's demons are starting to get them best of him.
Can Ev convince Micah to tell her what's going on in his head? Can Micah finally start to relax into his relationship, or will he push Ev away?
I loved Micah and Evs original story, but absolutely loved that things weren't always perfect with them. The fact that Ev was willing to fight to make their relationship work makes it even more real.
A short love story full of romanticism... Ev and Micah, the real part is they are struggling hard to making best for the relationship. Micah was struggling to tell her about the past that hurt him every day, at the end he did it, he told her everything and she still lives with him. Its difficult to tell the truth sometimes, but its better to live life with truth rather than not telling and making out fake.
I loved it!! One of Micah's worst fears was that Ev might find out what he did, before he met her, in order to survive. He was afraid that she would leave him once she found out. Love never fails.
This is a super short story that reveals more of Micah's past. it should be 1.5 of the series since it comes after Micah and Ev's story. also Book #1 was under 200 pages so I'm not sure why the author did not make this part of the original book. Rating: 2 stars
This was a fast read about Micah and what he kept from Eve. This was just a few pages. He had a horrible past in foster care and it drew him down. This part was very short. More like an intro to a more in-depth book.
It was more like a longer bonus chapter, but I still loved it. This entire Damage Control and Inked Brotherhood series are absolutely fabulous!! You keep reading and don't want it to end. Absolutely wonderful.
An added epilogue of Micah and Ev before they moved in together. Micah has doubts that Ev wouldn't want to be with him after she learns of his past. I thought they were over it from book one.
I love this so much! I'm so glad I read it after I read Micah too, I think it makes it so much more special. Ev and Micah are just made for each other and this really proves that!!
Maybe worth sying that they added this to the end of the more recent version Micah, so people don't purchase separately.. I liked the book better than what they call a bonus short story.
I was lucky to have received this short story as an ARC.
Do you know what? If you loved Micah, then you will absolutely love this short story. Out of all the guys in the Inked Brotherhood or Damage control he has been my favorite to date. He is so sweet and insecure just waiting for the other shoe to drop all the time. He feels he shouldn't be happy, that he doesn't deserve it. This short story follows on from Micah a few months later and Micah is struggling with the happiness he has found with Ev. He thinks he doesn't deserve it and he's scared that once all of his past comes out that maybe Ev might walk away from him. It's his biggest fear. As in Micah, Ev is incredibly strong and understanding but is starting to feel a little insecure herself as he is acting snappy and withdrawn.
I won't say anymore about the story as i don't want to spoil it but i will say that your heart will hurt a little for Micah and you will want to jump into the book and give him a massive hug, tell him to stop being silly and then maybe take it to the bedroom... he's hot after all ;)
Loved this little snippet just before the release of Jesse which is book 2 in the Damage Control series. I can't wait for that!!
I would recommend this book to people who have read Micah as you need to have the background story.
More stuff to read from Jo Raven is always a plus,,, but I simply cant rate her books with more than 3stars as they are more like school essays but with well developed characters.
Micah and Ev's story was nice and having the linkage to Candy Boys is also a plus. So any extra material is always welcomed.
The Things I never Said by Jo Raven. Evangeline (Ev) loves Micah Owens, he is strong, patient and protective, totally different from her crazy ex-boyfriends. However lately Micah has become quiet and sullen, with a tense and worried look, and when asked by Ev he says nothing is wrong. Ev knows there is something wrong, her Micah smiles all the time, right now he is not, and she is going to find out what is wrong, she needs to help him be happy again.
Micah grew up in care, he had a troubled time of it, nothing was good in his life until he met Ev, being in the care system had scarred him, in his eyes he was broken, and that he was someone who didn't deserve love. Micah realises he loves Ev but is fearful that his past will destroy their relationship.
This story just absolutely melts your heart. The present is tarnished by the past, how can Micah hope to go on if he cannot deal with the past? Ev is strong and sets out to help him, the pair is perfectly matched, she is his rock, and he is her everything. The sexual content is hot and steamy, and the Author has a fantastic way of drawing you in, making you feel the character's pain (and pleasure). This is a prequel to the Damage Control series and I cannot wait on reading more.
I have to say that, as always, Jo Raven has brought me to tears. In such a short story the emotions that Ev and Micah evoke are so big that I couldn't help myself.
I love that, at the end of all the struggle her characters go through, Jo always finds the light at the end of the tunnel for them and makes almost a life teaching of those momemts of insecurity in their lives.
Micah went through a lot and feels like he is nit worthy of Evangeline, so he has closed of, he wants more with her but thinks he doesn't deserve it, all because he had to fight so many circumnstances to be alive.
Evangeline has her insecurities too, all brought up by her family. She thinks Micah is too much in the looks department to decide to be with her. Her feelings of insecurity grow bigger as time passes and Micah seems more distant. What he doesn't count on is how strong and persistent Ev is, and he will soon know that she will fight for him till the end.
This an amazing short story, though you should read Micah Damage Control 1 by Jo Raven before you get to this short story. 5 stars fir Steamy Bokks Lover.
Micah feels so much shame and embarrassment from his young past that he is afraid to tell Eve all the memories that keep invading his head space. He has convinced himself that he played such a horrible role in those events that if she knew, she would think so less of him she wouldn't want to be with him.
Eve works in an environment that has exposed her to many horror stories of kids from the foster care system. Eve is so angered for those defenseless kids, as they have no one to protect and advocate for their safety in homes that were supposed to be better alternatives to the ones they were removed from.
Micah and Eve's relationship is paralyzed in a sense until she can afford him the strength to open up and release some of his pains.
This is a short and sweet prequel to Micah, the first book in the Damage Control series. It will be released in Red Hot Candy Box Set due July 28, 2015
I was gifted this ARC from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
I always find it really difficult to rate a story when I’m just getting a snippet of something behind the true story. This was good, written in Jo’s style and fit right in with Micah’s storyline. I guess it’s an insight into what is going on in Micah’s head. And as the title suggests, it’s all the things he never said. Except it is and it isn’t. I didn’t find as much as I thought I was going to. The secrets weren’t massively juicy, just a reveal of some things he had done that he felt ashamed of. I think it showed how much they love each other, the worries that both had. It reads like a long epilogue. So like I say I really enjoyed this little look at them both and yes, definitely read it if you are a fan of Jo’s or are starting with The Damage Control series.
If you have not read Micah, you must do so prior to reading this or you will be lost!
As much as I would have enjoyed reading this as part as Micah, I enjoyed the excitement that there was going to be more of Micah and Ev, that they had more to tell. It’s a short sequel but still enough to see into what happens when they try to give a relationship a try; when Ev goes against her parents’ and Micah is learning how to just be – be normal, be happy, be content. I enjoyed this story because well, it was more. Yes, they got their happily ever after but now what. Micah is still struggling with his past; the things he’s had to encounter, things he’s had to do to survive but his biggest fear is the Evangeline won’t forgive him so then where will that leave him? Most definitely a must read!!
**Provided an ARC in return for an honest review**
After reading Micah I was looking for more books in the series and found this one. The Things I Never Said is a short novella, just a short glimpse into what happened after Micah. What happens with Micah and Ev. It was cute and sweet, super short, but fun.
Ev and Micah are in love. Things are going great until Micah starts acting strange. He won't talk to Ev about what is bother him so she doesn't know what to think. Is he over her? Does he want to break up? Or is there something on his mind and can she get him to talk? Like I said a quick read, but I loved the extra time spent with these characters. If you read Micah and enjoyed it you should pick up this story. It is free right now so why not?
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow I'm so glad I had the chance to read this story. I have previously read and loved Micah, it was pretty hot and scary in relation to his past.
In this book Evangeline (Ev) is in love with Micah, but she too has a past and wants Micah to accept it. Ev wants to bring a smile to Micah's face, and she is determined not to give up until she suceeds getting him to smile. Eve still doesn't realise the full extent of Micah's past and he worries that she will run for the hills once she finds out.
I love Jo's books, she is a very skilled writer who penned the amazing Damaged Inked Boyz series. I for one can't wait to read more....
Short and sweet, this is a (very) short story wrapping up Micah and Ev's relationship from Jo Raven's Damage Control series. Although it is touted as Damage Control #0.5, it is actually more like #1.5 as it follows the events of Micah, book 1.
It's probably not necessary to read this short story, but as it is a freebie it is definitely easy to get there and it wraps up their relationship, getting to them moving in together and the last few things off Micah's chest.
It's short, sweet, unnecessary and the plot is probably a little contrived, but if you're a fan of the series, why not indulge?
This is a very short read and should be read after Micah. It says above that it is Damage Control 0.5 but it should be 1.5. It is an epilogue of sorts to Micah. Micah is acting strange and Ev is determined to find out what is wrong. Will they let their insecurities be the end of their relationship or will Micah finally tell Ev everything about his past so they can move forward together?
I was gifted this ARC for an honest review, and I absolutely loved it.
I fell truly in love with Micah and Ev in Micah's story and it was so nice to be able to read this short story about how their relationship is developing two months down the track.
Once again I love how Ev's patience and love for Micah can overcome any insecurities or misgivings that Micah may have about himself.
The story was able to give a glimpse into things to come and I am sure that we will hear more as the rest of the Damage Control series is released.
Jo again you have kept me enthralled and in love with the characters, your words bring them to life and off the pages even in the short stories.
This should probably be numbered 1.5 instead of 0.5 as it is set after book 1. Saying that, I don't really feel as if I spoiled the story by reading this first. IT definitely left me with full of curiosity about Micah and I will continue with the series.
Although it was short, as novella's are, I enjoyed the alternating point of views. In the beginning I was a little unsure and desperate to get to the bottom of the secrets that where being hinted it, I didn't really see what Evangeline saw in Micah. However as I read on I began to get little glimpses of the man he could be and the back bone that I wasn't sure she possessed.
