Forsaken Power (The Healers of Meligna) (Volume 4)by K.J. Colt

I received and read (devoured) a copy of the fourth installment in this series of books and I have got to say that it is awesome. By all means don't take my word for it; but check it out yourself.

If you haven't started this series and are a fan of SFF and Epic fantasy then I would suggest you get started.

If you've read the first three and you are like me then you should get ready for the big release coming soon or order the paperback today.

Adenine has the best of luck and the worst of luck and now she's the Rider of the Pegan Sala, while Prince Eiridan had expected that honor. It wasn't by deception it was just that she didn't want the Prince to die when he flung himself off the edge with the blind faith that Sala would chose him. Sala had made a choice and now along with her power to heal Adenine is a rider and has access to other peoples thoughts through Sala. This was one gift that Eiridan was hoping for, for himself. But he has a solution that plays into his ever growing love for Adenine and that is to make her his Empress when he becomes Emperor.

Adenine would love to give this gift of being the rider over to Eiridan; but soon she'll discover that not only does Eiridan have some dark secrets he's kept from her, even the Pegan's have a dark secret that can spell nothing but trouble for Adenine and her plans. How much will she be willing to give up to save her country and her people; how much will she compromise?

As usual this novel contains tremendous world building on a new and fresh landscape in fantasy.

Well crafted characters with a balance of dark and light - good and evil in almost every character. The main character will steal your heart away, while making you shake your head at her flaws that make her her own worst enemy at times.

I'm not usually a fan of those series that look like they might go on forever but this one has captivated me with K.J. Colt's crisp clear writing and twisty imagination that constantly presents something new and intriguing into the world the plot and the character development.

Never a dull moment with Adenine.

Even if you aren't usually a fan of epic fantasy. you might find this to your liking; but be prepared to occasionally be dragged into a darker side that might force you out of your comfort zone.

Yet again I was grabbed into this book and did not want to put it down. However, there were times I wanted to throw it, pound something or someone, oh and whips would be good as well. Good thing this was on my kindle, so turning it off and walking away a moment was the best choice, but it did not last long before I was back into the book again entranced in this world of intrigue.

I will warn you to have a box of tissues and a pillow to punch it will help and be careful not to yell at the book when others are around so they don't think you lost it. Good thing my family ignores me when I am reading. (LOL) I want to talk more about what I read however I don't want to tell you about the story in the process, that is for you to enjoy and discover. I will say there are a lot of twists and turns each time you think you have it another piece of the puzzle is added or at least reveiled.

It is my hope that you enjoy this adventure with Adinine as much as I have though I am eagerly awaiting for the next book., though I am not great with the patient part. Why is it not here already!!!!! (giggles)

I have found another favorite author!

I started reading this series, The Healers of Meligna, on the recommendation of my favorite author, Michael Ploof. On starting the first book ,I wasn't sure if I would even finish it, then the story took off and I couldn't put it down. K J has created an amazing world full of intrigue and love. Adenine is a wonderful young girl with a heart more for others than herself, which causes her great heartache at times. I just finished book four and will be ready for book five to find out what happens next. Looking forward to more from this amazing author.

Wow! They keep getting better

I have read the entire series up to this in 5 days and they haven't lost momentum yet. I love the characters although I get a little frustrated with them from time to time. I can't wait for book 5 to come out and hate that I have to move to a different book to read now while I wait...
