Stuck with You for Christmas: A deliciously spicy enemies-to-lovers festive romance to keep you warm this winter

Rate this book
A deliciously festive enemies-of-Christmas-to-lovers romance – perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Heidi Swain and Milly Johnson.

Event planner Natasha needs a distraction this December...

With her grown-up children on the other side of the world, Natasha is facing Christmas alone. So when England's most famous Christmas town, Wellcombe, needs saving from a PR disaster, she packs her bags. She'll spend the season working, not wallowing – mulled wine strictly optional.

Stained glass restorer Will is counting the days until it's all over...

Since a terrible tragedy shattered his Christmas five years ago, Will wants nothing to do with twinkly lights, carol singers or festive cheer. But his biggest job this year is restoring a pair of ancient church windows in Wellcombe... at the heart of the very celebrations he's spent years avoiding.

Natasha and Will have one thing in they're both faking their way through the most wonderful time of year. Can gingerbread, mistletoe and a little festive magic thaw their frozen hearts? Or will it take a snowstorm to show them it's never too late for a second chance at love?

Natasha is headed to England’s most famous Christmas town. The town needs some help after a PR disaster so she’s spending the holidays making it look better.
Will isn’t a fan of Christmas but agrees to fixing the church’s stain glass windows.
This was a fun rom com story. It’s perfect to get you in the holiday mood. The three older ladies steal the show.

Its the 18th November and Natasha is travelling on a train which is being held up by animals on the line, she is starting to panic as she has a taxi booked and the taxi company are not being very helpful. All this isn't helping when she is menopausal and having a hot sweat, but she has to get to Wellcombe for work, albeit just for a few weeks on the lead up to Christmas. She also didn't feel very christmassy this year, all her family are grown up and doing their own thing and she is divorced with no partner, so she is prepared to spend the festive season in Wellcombe on her own this year.
Will is busy working on the stained glass windows in the local church that is proving to be a longer job than expected, he also has a sideline business making Christmas baubles which can be personalised and were normally a big hit with his customers at the Christmas fete. But when his ladders are desperately needed to put the stage up for the Christmas lights event he has little option but to help.
Over the next few days the village is preparing for the big Christmas event and Will is preparing to take Natasha out for the evening, but will he or won't he get to be her partner at the skating rink (and more besides?). As you read on this is a very enjoyable story with its Christmas bits (and other bits), and full of great characters, this is the first book I have read by Jen Smith and it definitely won't be the last. A lovely five-star read.

A festive season romance with plenty of "will they, won't they " moments and some spicy times too.

Thank you to Pellerin Books for the opportunity to read an advance copy of Stuck with You for Christmas by Jen Smith.

In the novel, I especially appreciated how Natasha’s story reflects the ways family relationships change as our lives move into new stages. As her children have grown up and the Christmas season is a different for her this year, the novel offers a thoughtful portrait of these life experiences.

Jen Smith’s writing is warm, lighthearted, and honest. I appreciate how accessible the prose is as a testament to the concept a story need not be structurally complex to be meaningful or to bring you close to its characters. The people and situations feel recognizable, and I found it lovely to read a story that reflects on the boundless, special meanings the Christmas season holds for so many people, while offering the hopeful reminder that new connections and reasons for joy can emerge in every stage of life.

The novel is a heartfelt, second-chance holiday romance that I would sincerely recommend to readers who enjoy festive stories about love and new beginnings.

SHES AN EVENT PLANNER WHO DOESNT PARTICULARLY LIKE THIS CHRISTMAS BECAUSE IT REMINDS HER HOW LONELY SHE REALLY IS. NOT ONLY THAT BUT SHES GOING THROUGH WEIGHT CHANGES, HOT FLASHES THE AFFECTS OF MENOPAUSE, SHES JUST TRYING TO GET BY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. THEY GIVE ME MORE ENEMIES/FRENEMIES TO LOVERS VIBE BECAUSE THEY DEFINITELY DONT START OFF ON THE BEST FOOT AND WILL DEFINITELY LOVES GETTING A REACTION OUT OF NATASHA. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS LOVE STORY AND HOW THEY WORKED THROUGH THEIR INDIVIDUAL INSECURITIES TOGETHER.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE FOUND FRIENDSHIP WITH LOWENNA. CHEWBARKA IS A CUTIE PATOOTIE AND THE 3 "OLD LADIES", BETTY, KATHLEEN AND OLIVE DEFINITELY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING BY CONSTANTLY GETTING WILL TO "MAKE FRIENDS".

Thank you to Pellerin Books for the ARC for this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the storyline, and the festive vibes.

Natasha comes to a small town that wants to put their town on the map as the most festive Christmas town. The town hires Natasha to help with the events and bring people in. Along the way she meets Grumpy Will. He hates Christmas! She doesn’t like that he is a grumpy man that just might be in her way.

As Natasha and Will get to know each other and the Christmas events bring them together, the mood changes.

I appreciate that Natasha is an older woman who is going through perimenopause and has grown children. She goes through her hormones and Will understands and supports her through her hot flashes and brain fog.

The side characters are lovely too! I especially loved the three meddling old ladies.

I recommend this book.

Oh, okay, Pellerin. I see what you did there. You heard me say something about weight gain or the joy (and irrational anger) of hot flashes, and decided I needed this book. Well… touché. Well done.
I definitely needed this book! Natasha is me and I am her. Along with every other perimenopausal woman out here. Reading all of these thoughts and feelings… I get it! I kept saying “yes!” And “yeah, girl, I’m OVER IT”. I feel like the cat meme- the one where he bats everything off the counter.
What I was not expecting was the love story- the way Natasha and Will made space for each other. I Adored it! The arguing and banter and longing and comfort… YES!
The character growth of both MCs was wonderful.
I laughed, I cried. I heartily recommend this book any time of year, but especially during the holidays.
Thank you to Pellerin for this ARC!

Thanks Pellerin books for the eARC.

With her grown children away for Christmas, event planner Natasha finds herself in the village of Wellcombe to help revive its festive image. Here she clashes with stained glass restorer Will, with whom she shares a dislike of Christmas. Can they help each other find joy in the festive season?

Quick and easy read for the festive season. I enjoyed that the MCs were in their 40s and the clashing banter is always fun. But there was quite a lot of repetition that bogged down the story - it’s could have easily been 100 pages shorter.

But I did like Will and Natasha’s chemistry; they were hot together even if at points they were a bit too grumpy.

The ending seemed a little rushed in the wrap up but would recommend as a bit of festive fun.

The story is a cute, low spice grumpy x sunshine romance with main characters who aren’t the typical 20 or 30 year olds found in many romance books, which made a refreshing change!

Whilst it is set around Christmas neither of the main characters, Natasha and Will, are looking forward to Christmas. They’re constantly being pushed together by some well intentioned older women at Christmas themed events, and the author even managed to find a way to include a one bed scenario.

If you’re after a comforting romance read centred around older (around late 40s) characters with low spice and a dual POV, give it a try.

I was lucky enough to be asked to read this book before it was released. It will definitely get you in the christmas mood & make you excited for all the things you can do leading up to christmas day! I wouldn't call them enemies per say more that they get off on the wrong foot, its got a touch of spice but nothing to extreme. The only downside for me is that it's written in 3rd person which isn't my favourite. I would definitely recommend getting it and reading it on the lead up to christmas it a nice easy read but its also one that keeps you locked in and wanting to pick it back up.

This is a great spicy Christmas romance that in my opinion has just the right combination of romance, friendship and family drama plus community dynamics. I thought that the way Jen wrote about sensitive topics was well thought out and the emotions of the characters involved were very well expressed.
Natasha is tasked with bringing Christmas back to Wellcombe and so packs her bags and heads there. Determined to not wallow in self pity as her children are both abroad and more used to living in London she is ready to put a smile in her face and do her best. Local Will is a stained glass restorer and after tragedy struck five years ago he can’t wait until the festive season is well and truly over. As the book progresses we find out more about them as people and why they feel the way they do.
I really enjoyed reading the interactions between the two main characters Natasha and Will as they navigated their feelings towards each other. This is a great Christmas read that made me laugh, cry and I thought it also gave food for thought. Natasha and Will are great and so are the supporting cast of characters.

From the first page I was hooked and I kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. The story was fun and easy to follow and had a great cast of characters.
