Phenomenal.
I was in a bit of a reading slump before starting this book, and it completely pulled me out of it.
From the very beginning, I was completely hooked. The story kept me wanting to read just one more chapter, and by the end I was left with even more questions and desperately needing the next book.
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Areanel already having a husband, because that's not something I normally read, but I actually loved it so much. I ended up being completely invested in their relationship.
The world-building was another thing I really enjoyed. It was easy to follow without feeling confusing, and I found myself remembering the details as I went along. There was also so much mystery woven throughout the story, which was one of the biggest reasons I couldn't put the book down. I constantly wanted to know what was going to be revealed next.
I absolutely loved Areanel as a character. I loved her strength, but especially the contrast between how the world sees her and who she really is. There were so many moments that had me excited, shocked and even a little emotional.
And that ending… 😭 I cannot wait for the next book to pick up where this one finished because I NEED to know what happens next!
If you love fantasy romance, a strong FMC and a story that keeps you guessing, I definitely recommend giving this one a read. ❤️📖

I really enjoyed this book! It’s dark and emotional, with plenty of magic and betrayal. Areanel’s story really makes you feel for her, and I loved the softer moments between her and Rymedur. I’m looking forward to seeing where her story goes next!
