FOREWORD
‘ When I first had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vrinda Kumar, I was so impressed by her sincerity and warmth and these are the same qualities that shine through her wonderful book: Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi: The Amazing Fakir.
As a Westerner, I was a newcomer to the many miracles that Sai Baba of Shirdi performed. However, upon reading the first edition of Dr. Kumar’s book, I suddenly understood why this great man is still so revered.
As you read the following chapters you will also see that His messages still ring true today.
You don’t have to have been a lifelong devotee of Sri Sai Baba to be entranced by his words – so lovingly retold within these covers – and neither do you need to be a religious person; what you do need though is an open heart – because then these wonderful chapters will reach out to you and touch your very soul.
As a writer and therapist, I have read many spiritual books – but none have described so clearly how to live a good and fruitful life and how in following Baba’s direction to have “Faith and Patience” one can also live a more meaningful existence.
I was so delighted and honoured to be asked to write this Foreword as it gives me a chance to extol the virtues of Dr. Vrinda Kumar’s chosen chapters. Although this book is aimed at children – I feel it can be read and enjoyed by everyone, no matter their age – for we are all children at heart.
This really is a beautiful book – about a unique man – a Saint whose light still shines down and touches us.
