It's akin to being an aviator—the sort of awareness of a Christ or a Buddha.Someone must have used search-and-replace a little too freely; this use of "aviator" instead of "avatar" actually shows up twice, on p.281 as well as in the above. The issue is not found in other editions of the book, as far as I can tell.
