We used to be best friends as kids, but now the sweet, scrawny boy I used to know has grown up into an arrogant, tattooed prick with a foul mouth and a penchant for too many women. We didn’t even recognize each other at first when we ran into each other again, but now I’m back in his sights for all the wrong reasons…
His Dad ran off with my Mom and married her in Vegas, so now Drew and I are stuck with each other. I wish he’d go back to his old self, but he insists on making my life miserable with his petulant attitude instead, and my friends aren’t helping. For some reason, they think he and I belong together, and the worst thing is that a tiny part of me can’t help but think they’re right. He’s a tool, but damn, he’s a handsome-as-hell tool…and the heat between us is undeniable.
Do I dare cross that line?
**Warning: This book contains lots of HOT sex, drama, adult language and some violence. If this is not the kind of stuff you like to read, skip this book. Enjoy!**
Caitlin Daire writes about sexy men and the smart, curvy women who love them. She has found her own happily-ever-after ending with her husband and two kids.
I absolutely loved this book! It was not at all what I thought it was going to be like.

These stepbrother books are ridiculous. I don't know why I bothered, particularly since I knew the plot would be the same as every other lame-assed step book. Wasn't even sexy.
When Sophie Ramirez set out for the night it was with the plan to lose her virginity. However after meeting Drew and almost completing the task she realizes that Drew is just a player and changes her mind. Drew was not thrilled with the woman he met, he wanted her like no other. When he is sent to meet his fathers new wife he never expected Sophie to be there, especially since she was the woman from last night.
Now Drew wants to have fun, a little revenge of his own for a sleepless night. Sophie though just grows more and more under his skin. When he decides to make a bet regarding Sophie, he doesn't realize it could change everything about them and could be his biggest regret.
I liked this one but I felt the chemistry was kind of mixed. One minute they are on each others nerve then they are madly in love. They have a history and grew up as friends changing to enemies. Overall fun read.
Why do I even bother reading this type of book anymore (stepbrother romance)? They are all the same... The plot was too far fetched and almost had too much going on yet the romance seemed unbelievable.
This story of Sophie and Drew is a cute second chance romance story. Sophie and Andrew are good friends when they are kids until Andrew moves away with his dad. Years later, Sophie, on the verge of going to college, meets sexy Drew at a club and they get friendly. They both thought the other looked familiar but the gorgeous teen in front of them is not the awkward kid either remembers. But now they are stepsiblings. Watch them fall in love in the backdrop of the drama marriages, divorces, death, and dares.
Childhood friends lose touch, then meet again not recognizing each other. She was dared by her friends to lose her V card to the hot tattooed guy ( Drew) but chickens out at the last minute. Worth the read, plenty of hurdles, lies and deceit with a happy .
I seriously couldn’t put this one down. Caitlin took us on a rollercoaster ride. Drew and Sophie were childhood best friends, turned into enemies, turned into lovers. Lots of ups and downs and of course the steamy scenes. This is a quick read but worth it.
I definitely did not see the twist and turns in this book coming! Like AT ALL! I loved drew so much, I did not expect him to fall first but I was yet again surprised. This was such a great book!
Great story, excellent writing and Terrific characters... this book has it all! So good that I didn't want to stop reading. I loved every minute! So AMAZING!!!
The love that’s actually forbidden, aren’t those the best kinds? Hell yeah! I’m convinced that they are. That’s why I decided to read this book. I wanted to get to know Drew…. Here he comes.
-Characters Drew: Was a sweetheart, but now he’s an asshole. I don’t know why he became so rude towards her. Even though he still kind of loves her from their past friendship, he is not nice towards her… Sophie: is a nice girl. And I think she handled him all wrong. I was sure that if she acted like before (when they were little kids) he would’ve acted way different in front of her.
-Storyline The story is about love, hate, betrayal and… I think that the story is not only about Sophie and Drew but also about her mother, and his dad. It’s probably even more about their parents than about them. It’s everything that happens between their parents that has a lot of influence on their love story.
-Title It’s all about a dare but even then… It wasn’t. Don’t let you fool by the title.
-Cover The cover is hot but standard.
-Ending Well, I think it’s a good idea to have the second book ready when you’re finishing the first book. Because it’s pretty obvious that there still a lot has to happen.
Yep its was a short read about stepbrother relationships...
Yeah there was a lot of drama packed into the pages...
But... it WAS entertaining and whilst the book itself dealt with bigger issues, Caitlin Daire still managed to keep the feels of the book suprisingly light as well.
I am a sucker for second chance love and this book didn't disappoint!
the thing for me is - I'm not starting a book to learn about Einsteins theory of relativity...
I'm starting a book to get lost in the moment with the characters...as they experience it!
If I can immerse myself far enough by simply reading the words....
If I am no longer sitting on my arse reading (instead of working...whooops...did I say that out loud...)...
And if I am right there alongside the characters feeling everything they are feeling ...standing side by side with them, in the middle of their angst and drama. ...
Then as far as I am concerned the Book and the Author have already won!
So here are my 4 stars to a book I lost my day to while I felt the ups and downs of the words on the pages....
Fast paced, easy reading and steamy scenes....win win!!!!
Sophie a young girl who is still a virgin and wants to loss her V-card asap. What better way then to go to a club get wasted, Dared to sleep with a sexy man. No problem except she wants to get rid of it to some one she wants and cares about. Not a cheap one night stand. So when she bells out in the last min from a Sexy stranger she grateful she doesnt have to see him again.
Drew a famous actor whos an arrogant pig and doesnt give a dam about anyone. Get laid get out. So when Sophie leaves him with blue balls his pissed with her. A call from his dad to say his remarried to his child hood best friend sounds good. Until face to face with the one women who stood him up. Planing to get revenge for what she did to him.
A bet is what started this (Sleep with sophie get his rep back and get the car his always wanted, doesnt sound bad)
But will the bet destroy them ? mix a bad bet in and throw in an Ex-husband and a sercerte that can destory everythink.
This, my friends, is why we stopped double-dog-daring people back in grade school... Although yeah, it turned out just fine for Drew and Sophie.
There was a nice little bit of suspense in there... I won't give away too much, but lets just say Sophie gets something unexpected in the mail which spooks her and Drew has to deal with psycho ex-girlfriend drama (always fun!). These twists definitely add some suspense and drama to the story, which otherwise would have been rather dull if the only conflict was between Drew and Sophie. And the ending... Wow, I was NOT expecting that twist!!
This is the second story I'm reading by Caitlin Daire (since they're standalones, I've been reading them out of order- the first was Score - A Stepbrother Romance) and I'm sensing a bit of a common theme of the girl leaving the guy high and dry in a hotel room.... I'm hoping that's not going to continue, because reading that will get old quick.
It was a good read some parts better than others. I don't do spoilers.
the characters were alright I managed to relate in part to most of them the ones I didn't there was a reason and that does become evident in the book.
the storyline was ok not rocket science but this genre of book is not really known for their intellectual content.
It was a fairly quick read about 3hours so longer than a novella but not war a peace. I didn't have to think too hard about it as it wasn't to convoluted.
For the most part it was edited well, just a couple of words missing in parts, to make the context of the phrase correct but not enough to make me annoyed.
A good holiday or evening read for this genre of book.
To the person that reviewed it with 1 star. Ok so this is not wuthering heights but what did you expect it is a stepbrother romance
Another great book from Caitlin Daire, I read the whole box set of the stepbrothers. I have my favorites but they all have something unique. This one Drew and Sophie were childhood friends and then his dad moved Drew away while they were still young. Then one night at a night club Sophies friends dare her to go up to the hottest guy there and loose her v card to him. Things didn't work out and then the next day they find out they are step siblings. The story goes on from there. Only thing I didn't like about this and other romance novels is when the woman actually does loose her virginity they make light of it. From what I remember and other women telling me it hurts like a SOB! In these novels especially this one the writer didn't have the guy ask if she was ok.
Drew was a royal jerk the first half of the book. He is a hot model and full of himself. Let alone a man-whore. Sophia wants to get rid of her virginity and lets her friends dare her to so so with the first hot guy she sees. Which just happens to be Drew and of course she gives him a false name. Once up in his hotel room she realizes that this is not what she wants and leaves. Of course their parents marry and the meet to only realize that they were childhood best friends. There are a lot of twist and turns in this story. It's not an easy HEA. I would recomend this novella.
A suspenseful step brother romance. The step brother is usually some what of a bad guy when these books first start then he realizes he has fallen for his step sister but in this one the step dad is the ass. Great story line. Different than the other step brother stories I have read lately.
Wow Sophie and drew have been friends since they were young . When Sophie's friends dare her to talk to the hot guy at the bar she didn't know that it would be drew. This book has a lot of funny parts as well as serious parts that have you say no you didn't . I love to read more about Sophie and drew it was a great stepbrother romance.
I started this 'cause I needed to give my mind a break from all the classics I had to read for school, and that's just what I got! 'Dare' it's not a masterpiece, and I actually had some problems due to the cliché and the similarity with other books of the genre, but it was an easy book, good enough to relax myself after all those complex books.
This book was not my favorite. There were issues with editing, but what took me out of the story was the cheesiness of the whole situation. I am a sucker for the stepsibling taboo, but the writing of this story wasn't up to par. The HEA was over the top the little climatic situations just thrown into the story did not flow well and were not believable.
I was really hoping I'd like this book. The first half was actually pretty good, and it was rating a 4 star for me. But the last half of the book took a huge downfall. So much drama started happening it ended up being ridiculous. The more dramatic stuff that happened the more stars started to fall away. In the end I was quite disappointed. It ended with a blah.
